House of Spice in Aylesbury Vale

I've been a customer for over 20 years .. ordered a delivery on Friday and the chicken bhuna was almost non existent.. 5 or 6 pieces of chicken with less than 50% of the container full of sauce .. I understand that cost increases are impacting on everyone but this was an appalling amount to send out and was not even the equivalent of a child's portion .. I will not be ordering for HoS Haddenham again

Food is good a little on the expensive side

Ordered a takeaway. 1.5 hours to arrive so called up. Said it would be with me in 5 mins. 25 mins later nothing. Called back. At this point they confirmed they didn't have my order.

Food is great but we ordered for a specific time due to fasting but it arrived almost an hour early for when we requested the food… Food will now get cold. Delivered at 19.00, requested to be delivered at 19.55…

Have eaten there before several times, always been good, this time was really rushed , was only 9-15pm and they brought the bill before we had finished , waiter was pacing like trying to get rid of us, said we couldn’t have coffee as there wasn’t any! Completely odd atmosphere, definitely won’t be going back . Shame as it used to be really nice

Had a takeaway delivered. Usual order but was absolutely horrid. Greasy and watery sauce. Tried calling to complain but all I got was I can't hear you even though we tried from 2 different mobile numbers and land line. Will not use them again. Customer service is terrible

I tucked into a tasty vegan curry and plain rice with a spiced spinach side and a roti with a pint of cobra. Thoroughly tasty meal and all for a tad under £30. Only comment for the management is that the vegan options on the menu are quite limited. It won't bother me as I am rarely in the area but if it were my local Indian restaurant and being a vegan I would be trying elsewhere after a couple of visits.

Just had the best take away meal I've EVER had. Absolutely delicious food, great prompt service and would highly recommend. This is probably the 5th take away we've had from them and it's never been short of exceptional. What a gem!

Food is very much as you would expect, same with the atmosphere but I visited for the first time in around 6 months (I had only been twice) and the server remembered me and what I previously ordered.

Having tried a few takeaways in the Thame area I'm happy to drive a little further the Haddenham for the best. Always on time. Very tasty.

Really really good meal, lovely place to have it too. We had a few things that were unexpectedly delicious, but everything was excellent!

Dissapointed. Order Goan rice got pilau. Ordered lamb cooked in garlic got Tandoori lamb, and a dry veg dish which was unidentifable. Wasted my money food was not eaten. Seems to be getting worse .used to be really nice

My go to takeaway if I want a Indian dish. Food is always delicious and up to standard. Prices are reasonable and even though I get it delivered the food is always hot 🙏

Food ok except poppadoms not fresh. A notice on the entrance wall but not on the menus states a 15% service charge which I refused to pay for the arrogant service I received. Not as good as previous visits

I very rarely get a takeaway but when I do I come here. The service is good the atmosphere and decor is pleasing and the takeaways are always to a high standard.

I would 100% stay away from House of spice Haddenham. Very rude and arrogant. Is it just me or what?? We’re eating our food and get half way through our meal at 8.30pm and they start turning lights off, the 2 lovely water light bubble wall attractions they also turn off. So I moaned at them for doing so and they couldn’t see any wrong in it. Now call me old but It was very relaxing sat watching and listening to those so they shouldn’t have been turned off till the end of the night(lights also) it felt like as we had finished ordering they had no more time for us, for the sake of leaving those lights on for another 15 mins they’ve missed out on alot of money from me😡

I have had many deliveries from this place and the food has been ok, not brilliant. I live out in the sticks so this is really my only option. (Wednesday 5th) we came to the restaurant i was so disappointed. There was only one man serving and he couldn't be any more disinterested. So rude!! Seemed like he couldn't care less. My starter was bland and tasteless (Sheek kebab) and my main was awful, too sweet. The deliveries are Always late, by a considerable amount of time.

Excellent food and service. Very accomodating with children who are not use to Indian cuisine. Will certainly be returning for more delicious food.

Visited four times in as many weeks while in the area and the food has been excellent. If you are ever anywhere near Haddenham and like Indian food then this is the place to go, you will not be disappointed.

Lovely food and friendly staff - what more could you want?

I love house of spice Haddenham. Think their lamb dhansak is amazing but anyways service is awful. That’s why I always get take away. And today I went back for a take away. And came out very disappointed. Some staff weren’t wearing masks and didn’t tell customers waiting for their take away food to wear masks either.

Very tasty food available to order through Just Eat or their website. Good vegetarian options too

This was our first meal since the restaurant has been under new management. I ordered a meal for 4 and wasn’t disappointed. Food was excellent, lots of flavour and cooked well. Probably the best Indian takeaway I’ve had for many many months. I look forward to my next indulgence.

I absoloutely love the House of Spice. We always receive a warm welcome and quick service. As for the food, it is delicious - we have never had to send anything back or needed to complain about the quality. We met the new owner today who also seems really friendly and welcoming. So if you are looking to try something new with your family or partner I would definitely recommend you go to the House of Spice in Haddenham.

A very warm and friendly service, the staff made a lot of effort to accommodate my two children who were unfamiliar with Indian food, the menu is excellent and service was quick. As it was my Mother's Birthday we thought an Indian meal would be a nice treat for her, she was not disappointed, and they even presented her with a complementary bottle of Prosecco. Thanks to all the Staff at House of Spice, Haddenham.

Nice restaurant, food was good but not great (too mild). Service was excellent (4 star), would have given 4 star is the food was less creamy and more spicy.

Slow service, below average food at best. Saturday night so restaurant was busy but all customers were complaining about service time or food quality. They seem more interested in serving takeaway orders and ignoring custom inside the restaurant. Won't be going back.

Almost always very happy with food quality. Only had a couple of experiances when the food did not seem up to usual standard.

Food is OK, but attitude is appalling. If there is anything which isn't to your satisfaction, expect it to be your fault. Two successive wrong orders and then then correction order wasn't even right! When I called to complain I was told each of my calls was costing them money. Use Jeera in Stone, instead. Very tasty, friendly and reliable.

Pathia and Pasanda were not 'Pathia' and 'Pasanda'. Vindaloo was just chilli and tomato - no spices... Surely not affiliated to Thame House of Spice?

Went after going to beer festival haddenham. Was busy but got a seat . Did forget our drinks but soon got sorted after asking all staff very pleasant. Nice food but quite expensive

I've not had such a bad meal in a long time, the meat and veg were overcooked, to the point of being burnt, as was the nan bread, and one of my 2 chapattis was stale, so, out of the whole meal, the salad and one chapatti were nice, these get the star otherwise I'd have rated it 0.

Decent food and portion sizes represent good value for money. Vegetarian section is welcome, but it would also be good if they could also label starters and side dishes which are meat-free. Service is fairly average - not all that quick or friendly, but OK.

Great restaurant. Has all the classics you'd expect, but really excels with the more interesting dishes available. Tasty! I'd say it's better than 90% of the Indian restaurants in London.

I've just got a takeaway and it is the worst I've ever had!!!!! It was like a pile of slop very oily, bread was cold and rice was sticky. Rang up to complain and they were very rude and not willing to refund. Please do not eat here.

Used to be amazing. Quality of food has really declined in last few years. Still a decent place to eat inside and service is good.

We quite often go here for their Sunday lunch buffet. It is very good, cheap and is fast if we are in a hurry! We have also been for the occasional evening meal which has always been good and has more variety than the buffet.
