On arrival we were greeted by the owner and made to feel so welcome. He made a point of even welcoming our service dog as well. The establishment is spotlessly clean and the decor is beautiful. The food is pure heaven and the servers are so friendly. Any allergies are noted and food adapted to your needs. Overall a really great dining experience and will definitely return.

I booked this restaurant for my Wife's birthday, a family of 8 (6 adults and 2 children). Even though when I first called to make the reservation, there was no answer I was pleasantly surprised to shortly afterwards receive a call back, which I thought was a great touch, excellent customer service. Communication was great prior to our attendance and all requirements were catered for. The waiting staff were excellent and the food was superb, not a single complaint, all starters and mains (to full for dessert) were 10/10

We decided to celebrate Valentines night at the Pot Belly as it's an old favourite of ourselves and we hadn't been there for a while so we went for the Valentines special menu. The restaurant has been redecorated since our last visit and looked really good. We had our starters of crispy chicken strips with noodles and spicy sauce which was excellent and my wife had the goat's cheese salad with walnuts and beetroot that she really enjoyed. For our main course she went for her favourite of Pot Belly chicken with roast vegetables and I went for the salmon Wellington which was a good portion that I struggled to finish. The dessert was a trio of profiteroles cheesecake and chocolate tart that capped a really enjoyable meal. The Pot Belly has kept its charm and great service over the years and we really enjoyed our visit.

We visited the Pot Belly for the first time on Sun 3 Dec as we had a birthday voucher and wanted to try it out. Arrived in the dark and the place looked lovely, with the lights and inside the decor was cosy and warm. We had looked up the Sunday Menu beforehand but were given a set menu and we were told the other menu wasn't available. The menu had one set price for all three courses at £34.95 but wasn't priced for 1 or two courses so we asked if we could just have a main course each. We were told that was fine but not the price. I ordered the lamb roast and my husband the turkey roast. Both meals were really tasty albeit not the warmest but we both enjoyed them. We were a bit surprised to get the bill and the main was £24.95 which we felt was a bit steep considering the lamb roast on the Sunday menu online was £18.95. We didn't say anything at the time as we had enjoyed our food and didn't want to argue about but but I do feel that they put the arm in a bit and being our first visit, this was the impression that I was left with. I would like to go back and hopefully rethink my impression so will hopefully visit again.

A return to the pot belly now that indoor dining has resumed.Very well set out to comply with covid restrictions. Order for drinks was taken very quickly and promptly served. Shortly after we were able to place our order with the attentive staff, despite the venue being at capacity. Both our starters and mains were excellent, we did not have a dessert. We also enjoyed a decent bottle of wine from the restaurants cellar. All in all a very good experience and covid restrictions did not impinge on the meal.

Everything was superb from our greeting, to having drinks in new outside bar which felt most comfortable and safe, to our beautiful meal. We are just home from a wonderful evening at the Pot Belly. We have said for months about trying here and we are so glad that we did. From first arrival to the end, the meal and service was fantastic. We were greeted at the door by a lovely gentleman and shown inside to our table - what a lovely welcoming to the start of our evening. We opted for starters and main courses and can not fault any that we received. I had the steak which was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly and seasoned well and my husband the burger which he was raving about. We both work in the hospitality industry as a restaurant manager and a chef and find it very hard to find a restaurant which we both enjoy however the pot belly exceeded our high expectations. Thank you to everyone working this evening for a wonderful experience and we both can’t wait to return.

Very poor experience due to a rude and ill mannered man who insulted attacked and harassed a family out for a birthday celebration. The owner - after 30 people finished a three course meal - decided to take offence to a few members of the group going out the door to the smoking area. Apparently the rules and guidelines were not being followed by our party. However the manager greeting the public had no PPE equipment. No staff had masks or face coverings. There was one sanitisation station in the whole restaurant. The stairs were unmanned throughout the night. And worst of all we were a group with many older members who are sick and classed as vulnerable and the Pot Belly broke the law by allowing other customers into our dining area constantly through the evening to go to the bathroom. I counted seven incidents when other visitors went through our group and were not socially distanced. The Pot Belly should be reported for this beach of public health agency regulations. However we as patrons broken no rules and he was simply being inconsiderate and unreasonable - there were 2 children under the age of 8 at 5.30pm in the evening. I don’t think he liked kids. When confronted - he was unapproachable and had a very poor attitude. This was supposed to be a lovely family celebration but this man Brian has ruined a family get together with young and old. We have been going to the pot belly since I was a child and celebrated many occasions there. This will be the last. With the covid pandemic most businesses are delighted with the local business and support. I would urge anyone thinking of going here to reconsider. Simply because you will not feel welcome by the owner. He is rude nasty and has an inability to have a mature conversation about the failings in his establishment. The food was mediocre and not worth the price. Bland plain small portions and watery unsalted veg. The only saving grace was Philip the manager and staff including Cara and Eleanor. I explained the situation to Philip and he couldn’t do anything - I fear Brian may rule with an old fashioned iron fist. There’s plenty of places out there you can go to for a nice meal and a drink better than here where the owner will be happy to see you. But not at the pot belly. Given the nature of this pathetic excuse for a man I await his reply - probably factually incorrect and full of inaccuracies and finger pointing. Remember we were a party of 30- everyone saw how he behaved and the type of little man he truly is. Sad times that the Pot Belly in our opinion is now closed. If he continues this way I imagine it won’t be long until it actually is!

Booked the Pot Belly for my wife's birthday. Co-incidentally was on a Wednesday evening -the first week of the Governments£10 scheme! Directed to the restaurant by a very pleasant man and then inside staff took us to our table which was suitably distanced from others. Meal-wise, I had the Pot Belly Burger and my wife had a chicken dish. Should say that we opted for the three course menu! Starters, main course and desserts all excellent. As they say in Star Trek- "It is a burger Jim, but not as we know it!"Three courses plus a few glasses of wine and a coffee for around £50- excellent food and excellent value. We will be back.

This is our favourite restaurant in Northern Ireland, we love the food, staff and experience. You order your drinks and meal upstairs in the lounge then go downstairs when your meal is ready! Just something different that I like about this place. We get steak every time, cooked to perfection. You are always greeted through the door by well trained staff, it’s quite a posh restaurant (they refer to you as sir and madam), you can tell the owner really cares about the reputation & he also gets involved with serving customers which I think is so lovely to see, so down to ear. We have got served by him a number of times, and we always tell him how much we love coming :) it is on the pricey side so we only come on special occasions but I would say that it’s worth the extra cash! Thank you Pot Belly!

We booked this restaurant on 7th February 2020. The reservation was accepted by a male whom we believe was the manager. He confirmed all the details including our contact telephone number and commented he would see us on the night. This reservation was for 4 people on 26th February at 7.30 pm. We duly arrived in 2 separate cars to find the place almost deserted apart from a vehicle parked awkwardly close to the front door. We parked and as we approached the door we were met by a male whose voice my wife recognised as the person who took our booking. He informed us they were closed, yet he was there on his own and appeared to be waiting on us. He then blatantly denied we had ever made a reservation but offered us a bottle of wine on our next visit. This was very embarrassing for us in front of friends. I can not comment on the standard of food, but given the condescending attitude of this staff member and his propensity to avoid the truth, this is not an establishment worthy of any type of support. He can rest assured we will not be taking him up on the offer of a bottle of wine. Good manners cost nothing. We will never be back and would encourage other to stay away.

Had lunch here today as a Xmas treat. Food was awful, scampi was cheap, frozen variety, mainly consisting of thick, soggy breadcrumbs. My friend had salmon that was served with lumpy carrot mash and wrinkly peas instead of the balsamic roast veg stated on the menu (and a hair also, but no extra charge for that!) Informed waitress at point of paying, as no-one asked before that! This was to be reported to the kitchen but despite waiting, no-one came to offer any explanation. Was thinking of getting vouchers here for family Xmas presents, so glad I tried first before I bought.

I enjoyed a family lunch at the Pot Belly last Sunday. The warm and cosy atmosphere was most welcome on a very wintery afternoon. I had a delicious fillet steak which was cooked ‘medium’ as I requested. The accompanying vegetables were very tasty. Portions are large so there’s no need to order many extras. For dessert I chose the fruit pavlova which was delicious and the helping was large enough for 2 people. The prices are very reasonable and the whole dining experience was very enjoyable.

I opted for the Salmon, The Roast Beef was served to a number in our group along with the Chicken. A vegetarian option of Curry was also on the menu. Plenty of seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes and trimmings. Desserts didn’t disappoint! All freshly made ... Pavlova, Crumble with Apple and Blackberry and Creme Fresh and the Snickers Ice Cream was a hit with the young members in the party. We certainly will be back! I suggest you book .... it’s a popular spot and reasonably priced!

Let me explain! We have been diners at the Pot Belly for more years than I would care to admit - it's always been a family favourite. So much so my son had his wedding reception there a few years back.Throughout all that time, Joanne [who is no longer there] was a consistent star of the showSo when deciding to treat some special friends out for a 'thank-you' meal, the obvious choice was Pot Belly which we did last Saturday nightLet me say up front. It's still a great place, good vibe and amazing food - truly amazing! However, and here comes the disappointing bit.The restaurant last Saturday was manned by almost entirely a team of young people, clearly still quite new to the job. They were reserved, polite and, for the most part, efficient. What frustrated me as in any restaurant, was the fact that we were served by so many servers - making it impossible to develop any sort of rapport. There was a 'senior' lady on duty and she was good but was seldom at our table. I also found the 'duty manager' to be somewhat off-ishSo what I'm saying is that whilst we enjoyed the Pot Belly as a restaurant and the food was great, there was a very distinct lack of warmth, personality, rapport, call it what you will from the staff on duty. Being less 'officious' would have made made a big difference. Will we be back? YES!! But do hope management gets to work on the 'personableness' of the staff.

Out of the way to a startling degree but well worth the visit the Pot Belly is one of the higher end restaurants in the area and worth the cost. Entrance is - a tad confusingly - via the upstairs door (think two tiered Swiss chalet) where you wait in a beautiful lounge area - all plush sofas and comprehensive Gin menu. Frankly arrive early and spend some extra time here, well worth it. Dining after ordering is down stairs in more traditional mahogany and white walls surrounds. Staff are polished and very professional. The food is splendid - a mix of traditional presented with just enough panache to distinguish it. Quantities could be a bit more generous - especially on the starters (not enough bread for example) - but not outrageously minimal.

The service was great with helpful friendly staff. The man in charge not sure if he’s the owner but he’s always welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable. We will always return to Pot Belly. Love this place.

Husband and I visited this evening, everything was excellent.... food was delicious, all staff very friendly, nothing seemed to be a bother to any of them. Nice atmosphere. After our meal we sat outside for a while and relaxed for a bit. We are already planning our return visit.

I visited this lovely spot on a very wet day in July as part of an 80th birthday meal. Easy to miss as it is set back off the road down a lane.

Comimos fenomenal, nos atendieron estupendamente, y el sitio es precioso, un viejo molino restaurado. Recomendable 100 por cien.

I just love this restaurant. Both management and staff are lovely and nothing is ever too much hassle. I love their Sunday lunch menu, 3 courses for less than £20pp. The quality and presentation of food is 5 star. I highly recommend and it's a must to book, especially at weekends

Really lovely to get such a warm welcome through the door & drinks order taken straight away & talked through the menu. Very welcoming & great way to start! Cocktails were good & nice wine list too. Our food was superb would recommend the pate & lamb although the pot belly chicken also went down very well! Great dining experience & can’t wait to go back.

Recently visited Pot Belly Gilford with good friends and although we had a great nights craic, I was somewhat underwhelmed by the meal. This is a place we first visited 40 years ago and is one of my favourite venues in Northern Ireland . I had the duck salad to start followed by the linguine with chicken and would have to say that it was only just average. Also, the only lager available on tap was Coors Light, definitely not my favourite! Maybe I picked the wrong meal?

This is a mixed review as for myself I was disappointed by the lack of options for coelic and dairyfree options. I had also phoned ahead to ask if they catered for these before booking so no awkwardness ensured on arrival especially as there with a table full of us. The only options were: Starter soup with gf bread, main: Lamb with difference gravy, Roast Beef or steak (I dont eat beef so lamb was my only choice) and dessert had no options. However the lamb was tasty.

We went for a nice meal night out to the Pot Belly. From entering the building you are treated to good service from the staff. Around the walls are the evening cocktail and drink offers and of course the special meals for the evening. When the food is ready the waiter helps bring your drinks and escorts to the table.

We went here for a family birthday meal and it was great food and great value. The servers were excellent and I really like the way you sit upstairs to drink and order and are then taken down to your table.

Went for a retirement dinner with colleagues past and present. Staff were attentive but discreet and the room was beautifully set out. As for the food... it was amazing. Presentation was fabulous, taste and flavour were stunning and there was more than enough to satisfy everyone. It made for a truly spectacular end to an esteemed colleague's career. I will definitely be back again

Went for a retirement party to the Pot Belly restaurant with friends from work. Staff were really helpful and accomodating. We had a room to ourselves and they allowed us to hang bunting. They displayed the cake and flowers for us. They catered quickly and efficiently for a crowd getting all food to tables hot and on time. Staff were friendly and helpful always asking if we needed more of anything. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was of a very high standard with all three courses plus tea or coffee costing approximately £25 per head. Beautiful atmosphere and we were able to stay and chat for as long as we wanted. Would definitely recommend a visit to the Pot Belly in the future.

Went without checking menu. Arrived to realize poor selection for vegetarians. Asked staff if they could make us something vegetarian. For starters had brie, excellent for main course we had Mexican enchiladas. Again cooked perfect with the right amount of spice. Staff very friendly. Place in remote beautiful location. Worth a visit.

Had a lovely Xmas lunch today with my 3 sisters and relative. The Pot Belly stove was very welcoming on such a sharp cold day. We had a lovely round table which meant we could chat easily. The menus was varied including the Xmas fare. The service as usual is exceptional and it is lovely to see that the son of a lovely lady who once managed the Pot Belly is now working there and he is indeed carrying on the same welcoming manner that his mum had. She would be so proud of him!! The owner,Brian, gave us some lovely chocolates which we opened with our coffee/tea and needless to say there were none left by the time we were to leave. Thank you to all the staff and Merry Xmas.

A bit disappointed, ordered Chilli &Basil Rigatoni it was delicious but the portion which was a main course was really small . Last week I had Salt & Chilli which was also delcious however the chicken portion was large ..I asked for some of ot to be boxed as I couldn't finish it. Seems strange as it appeared to only be pasta ..the sausage may have dissolved onto the sauce but chicken must be more expensive to produce than pasta so why such a small portion ?? They were same price £16.00 I was definitely still hungry. The staff are lovely very attentive and very polite . Food it good quality just a pity about portion size on this occasion .

Real country cafe, huge portions, pretty sure the lady taking our order was also making coffee and cooking so good on her for doing everything at once!

Having failed to eat in another quite well known establishment just down the road (far too long a wait) this place was a very welcome pit stop for my family. There was a very friendly lady from Preston serving us, a delicious curry slice (!) and other light lunch food. Nothing sophisticated but very welcome nonetheless! Recommended.

Good location, nice ambience, decent staff that wants to be helpful, but lacking in knowledge about food. Obviously they use decent ingredients, but lack of skills or poor execution lets them down. I didn't ask for ice in my drink, I got ice. I didn't ask for sugar in my coffee, it was sweet. The menu said "poached egg", but egg was definitely not poached and hollandaise did not have a texture or taste of the hollandaise sauce. To top it off it came to nearly £25 for a brunch, one dish and two drinks, if the quality was good I wouldn't even mention price. However when you pay that sort of money for something that you didn't entirely enjoy, it feels like a rip off. Plenty of awards on walls, but when I asked a simple question about one of ingredients, they couldn't even tell me where it comes from, makes you wonder if they have any awareness if the products they are using.
