Positano Italian Restaurant in Hillingdon

My Son and I eat here. We had a 3-course meal for under £20 each. Lovely food. Infact, one the best veggie pizzas I've ever had. Staff were friendly and attentive, but one felt that they could have done with another pair of hands.

Wow Never-ending POSITANO they should rename as POSITIVO WHAT AN EXPERIENCE I read the reviews from Google maps sorry to say they underestimate this restaurant Bruschetta amazing and so fresh We had two pizzas between us, we had they piccante what a mouth explosion salami napoli and the nduja WOW base sauce amazing and then the positano so fresh and exciting in the mouth. I keep coming back to WOW DONT MISS THIS ONE

Delicious home made pasta at this family run Italian restaurant. Desserts are yummy. Very welcoming and nice atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.

We popped in couple of nights ago just to order a takeaway as we had our toddler with us,the receptionist/waiter whatever she is,(I believe her name is Isabella, a dark haired lady) not friendly at all, the second we entered the venue looked at us as we were her enemies, she looked very uncomfortable with my child in there so obviously this is not a child friendly restaurant, even made a comment about it even though we weren’t staying, we just came in to look at the menu and place the order, we waited outside after placing the order just because we felt very uncomfortable with her giving us looks, talking in a grumpy manner, we ordered a quatro stagioni, the crust was very thin which I liked, but it was burnt so a part of the pizza couldn’t be eaten cause it was burnt, creamy mushroom pasta had no taste and the fried calamari were so tasteless that we actually just threw them away. I would’ve given them a second chance to try the food again, but because of the front of house lady’s attitude towards my child, we will not revisit. I get it if we were staying there and he was disturbing or doing something wrong but we didn’t even stay, we looked at the menu, ordered and went out.

Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant for a take away pizza and pasta and super excited to get back to eat in the restaurant as it’s the closest we’ve eaten to our recent trip to Italy. Superb.

I’ll be as brief as I can – this little gem is a very, very good restaurant. Do yourself a favour and ignore the deranged “critiques” from persons with an over-inflated idea of their critical talents. What you have here is a family run piece of Italy in West Drayton. The food is excellent, (even on the basis of our one visit), and was made to order. Both our pasta dishes were excellent and on our next visit, (which will come pretty soon), I am looking forward to having a pizza. The one prepared for another diner on the adjacent table looked, (and smelled), delicious. It looked absolutely perfect with exactly, (for me), the right amount of “char” around the rim and wasn’t overloaded with toppings. Looking at it I was transported back to Naples. I said it’s family run, (and it is) but don’t expect that “cheesy” sometimes fake trattoria ambiance, with huge pepper grinders and over-the-top comedy accents – this place is firmly into what could be described as “modernist Italian” territory. We couldn’t fault the place and as I type, we are trying to juggle our plans for the pre-Christmas week, so we can get back and try one of those fabulous pizzas.

It had been a while since last time we went to the Positano restaurant, so my boyfriend and I decided to go there last night and treat ourselves to a proper Italian dinner with our family and a friend. I personally had the spinach and ricotta ravioli which were delicious, but I also tasted some “funghi freschi” pizza, the Arancini and the fried squid, all of them absolutely gorgeous. Apart from the food, we enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant and the genuine friendliness of the hosts. Recommended!

This is not a review about the food but more on the treatment I received when I walked in and tried to get a meal. I’ve passed this restaurant a number of times and as it was a rainy day and I didn’t feel uk a trip to Uxbridge I decided to stop by my local restaurant Positano. From the outside I could see only a couple and a number of unoccupied tables. I entered and saw vacant spots but before I could ask the lady who I believe runs the place ushered me out and said there’s no vacancy as they were fully booked. Pretty shocked at the impolite manner of my dismissal I left without a word. I then decided that this wasn’t going to go without a comment and as such I decided to return to the restaurant and take pictures for future customers to see the kind of treatment I received. I’m a local customer who patronise local businesses. I don’t want to use the ‘R’ word but to be frank it was pretty glaring the way the owner dismissed me. I wonder what my local MP (Boris Johnson) would say to this poor customer service? Well @Positano you just lost a potential customer with your antics. I’ll return to the Nona Rossa in Uxbridge where good customer service is mette out to all who visit. I hope the owner reads this and fixes their attitude in future.

Great food & hosts. We had a selection of starters, mains and desserts which were all incredible. Donato & his wife also made sure our experience was the best. I will definitely come back again.

i had dinner twice at this family owned, charming, restaurant in central West Drayton. The husband/ wife; chef/ server couple were attentive, gracious and pleasant hosts. The menu was limited to good Italian recipes. The wine selection was limited but each was very good and priced affordably. Everything was very clean.

We went as a family, we usually leave the kids at home. Was my husbands birthday and were treated with such kindness and made to feel so special. Thank you all! It is our go to restaurant for all occasions. We'll worth a visit to anyone who loves great food!

I moved to the area just over two years ago and have only just discovered this hidden gem of authentic italian food. You can clearly see they care about the quality of food that they provide to their customers.

The food here was spectacular ! I have never had a steak before with so much flavour, and so well presented. The restaurant had a family feel with photos on the wall and lovely background music that did not overwhelm the conversation. The restaurant and restrooms were vere very clean and well stocked. There is no way to fault this restaurant. It is absolutely perfect.

I have been to Positano a number of times since it opened and it never fails to disappoint. It is definitely one of the best places to go in West Drayton. A great place to go for lunch, dinner with friends/family/partner. The staff are lovely and very attentive and the food is delicious. They have a relatively extensive menu and definitely pastors, pizzas, meat dishes and deserts that will please everybody. The wine list is also very good! Definitely would recommend a trip to Positano – we’ll be back there again soon.

Our second time here now, this time for lunch and it’s a lovely little restaurant. Staff are lovely, warm and welcoming. The food cooked fresh, flavours were amazing with so much choice it’s almost impossible to decide.

It’s a fantastic restaurant, run by a lovely Italian family. I really enjoyed talking to them about their region, and seeing how passionate they are about sourcing quality ingredients from Italy. The food was truly stunning; and I’d happily go back to eat their other menu dishes and their sweet pastry offerings. The Calamari was flavoursome; delicious homemade pasta which was paired with a rich and tasty lamb ragu; the Salami & Nduja pizza was gorgeous as the toppings were balanced well so that you could taste the sauce, crust and toppings in harmony. We had gelato for dessert. I think the price is great value for the impressive food, and for supporting a family run business. I hope to eat there again soon!

A group of 3 of us met here to enjoy the warm weather sitting outside. The pastries were delicious. Social guidelines for Covid-19 were good (temp taken on arrival). Positano is an asset to West Drayton High Street. Feels like a little community sitting there with a cup of tea occasionally seeing someone you know to say hello to. Very nice staff.

I have visited the restaurant on numerous occasions and I always receive the BEST customer service I would definitely recommend eating from this place, the waitresses always make me feel welcome and the place is immaculate and very easy to find off the high street. I am a fussy Italian and it was ....very very good - I had a great pasta and arancini and my fiancée had the chicken with peppers (which I tasted of course ) and everyone around the table was very very happy. The chef is from Puglia.I couldn’t possibly recommend it any higher. So lucky to exist such a place in West Drayton. 10 out of 10

Casual authentic Italian with unbelievable good. I ordered the ravioli filled with lobster in a cream and citrus zest absolutely delicious, couldn’t recommend enough.

This is one of the best Italian dining experiences I have ever had and I've been to Italy many tines. Positano has a nice size menu with enough choice but not so much that it couldn't be fresh. Everything is prepared from scratch in full view by the father and served with knowledge and charm by the mother. Not pretentious in any way.I love this place and I'll definitely be back.

Service is excellent, food amazing, got a mix of 2 type of pasta and a pizza, couldn’t finish the pizza and we decided to bring the left over at home, even cold the pizza was still delicious. Very memorable place.

Went here for lunch only 2 other guest so not busy, the service was slow, the waitress was rude, I ordered the penne I didn't eat it as it was so over powering with garlic, had 5 other guest with me they all tried it and said the same you can only taste garlic, it was awful, when I told the waitress she said that's personal taste, didn't even take it off the bill, this was my second visit to this place, never again and I would never tell people to go here.

Been here a few times now and the food is always of a high quality and the service is very friendly. It is a small family run restaurant on West Drayton high street but it is a great find. The restaurant is also spotlessly clean.

My friends who live in West Drayton took me to this cosy little restaurant that they love because I lived in Positano for 35 years. I’m always very reluctant to go to Italian restaurants abroad as they often cater for ‘foreign taste’ but this one is exceptional. The restaurant is actually named after the owner and not the town and the menu is decidedly more Pugliese ( from the region of Apulia) than Positanese, (from the Amalfi coast), which for me is a plus because I love la cucina Pugliese. My octopus starter was simply delicious and the home made spaghetti alle cime di rape e acciughe, which translates as turnip tops and anchovies but I’d say it’s more like a type of broccoli.. The taste was perfectly balanced and in my opinion divine. The wines from Puglia are potent and full bodied and I thoroughly recommend the Primitivo we chose to accompany our meal.

There is nothing not to love about this restaurant. The food is delicious the staff are charming and you feel very welcome . If I lived nearer I would eat here all the time . Also it’s so great to see a non chain restaurant doing to well . The tiramisu is amazing and everything tastes so fresh

I wasn’t expecting much eating out in West Drayton but my friends assured me there was a good Italian so off we went to Positano. Bloomin’ heck the food was AMAZING. We shared a Margherita pizza between 3 of us to start (and better value than Bruschetta) and I coudln’t believe what I was eating - truly Italian food. I had the fish of the day (bream and prawns) for my main. It wasn’t cheap - just under £100 for lunch for 3 of us (and no booze) but really lovely. I would suggest doing small portions of the pasta dishes so they could be had as starters - I think this would increase the spend per head.

We ate at Positano this evening for the first time (a group of 6), and were very impressed with the restaurant. It's nicely decorated, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent. We shared the famous arancini balls for starters, which were yummy. Then we all had pizza from the wood-fired oven, which was the highlight of the meal. All our pizzas were fantastic - generous size and toppings, and very tasty. We shared the homemade ice-cream for dessert - a perfect way to finish the meal. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is literally an italian pearl in West Drayton. You can taste the real italian flavour from the apetizers to, the pizzas, main courses, desserts to the never missing italian espresso. Lovely staff. Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere. Marvelous restaurant.

Wow. Wow. Wow. As a fairly regular visitor to Italy, I do miss those melt in the mouth pasta, beautiful sauces and properly flavoured desserts. Just found them in West Drayton.

We went yesterday and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Way better than any other Italian restaurant we have been to.

I held a Friday night party here to celebrate my husband passing out from the police. We had 30 people who were catered to perfectly - the food was amazing, the staff were patient and accommodating, I cannot recommend Positano highly enough! They were communicative during the planning and a great time was had by all!

We noticed this restaurant by chance in passing and having checked reviews thought we should try it. Clearly the main trade is the homemade pizzas which people popped in endlessly to collect as takeaways but they are missing the home made pasta and desserts. As mentioned in another review, the service could be a little more friendly but the food was very good and it was nice to try different ravioli and sauces. It's great to have a family restaurant as chains are so boring.

Four of us ( 2 couples ) walked in into a totally empty restaurant on a warm summer evening. The waitress was polite but made no additional effort to make us feel particularly welcome. Did not offer any help with the menu (we were first-timers, so may be recommend what you think you do particularly well ? ). Did not ask us if we liked our food. Worst of all, when she cleared the table, she did not even ask us if we wanted any desserts or digestifs or coffee. The owner/chef did show up once and had a very brief chat with us. But this seemed to be too much of an effort for the waitress. And let me say this again - we were the ONLY ones dining.

Fresh, authentic, delicious Italian food - every mouthful brought us back to our holiday. If I wasn't driving I'd have enjoyed an Aperol spritz or two! Instead, a delicious coffee and an amazing nutella sourdough pizza finished off a lovely evening.

Visited this place previously came back and it was amazing only had a pizza but everything was freshly made and you can tell. I also had desert also freshly made and It was so nice. I would reccomend this place 100% it's a small cosy restaurant family run and it's a nice atmosphere.

Myself and 5 colleagues visited on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was full to it's capacity but despite the fact that there were only two staff members, the service and food were both great. We have previously ordered takeaway pizzas at lunchtime which have always been lovely but had yet to eat at the restaurant. We were not disappointed and will definitely be returning.

I am not a resident of the area, but I ate here on my way back to the U.S. recently and was very impressed. The building itself is unassuming from the outside, but blends nicely into the local neighborhood, and the interior is pleasantly decorated. Three of us (the other 2 being former locals and frequent diners) ordered different dishes for sharing (ravioli, pasta, spaghetti) and all of the food was superb and delicious. This is the type of food I would expect if traveling in a small village in Italy. We had a chance to chat with the owners, Donato and Isabella, who were very personable folks, and when I found out that they make all of the pasta, pizza and other dishes by hand I was amazed. This place makes you feel like you're in Italy. I don't know when I'll be back to West Drayton, but when I do I will be sure to visit Positano again for another delicious meal!

We live locally and love attending this restaurant on a regular basis. The family that run it are from Italy and really pour their love of Italian food into the menu. The food is excellent value for money and we consistently eat well, which is why we keep returning! My only suggestion for improvement would be a children's menu or selection of half portions for children (I often share a pizza with my daughter though since they are rather large).

We dined here several times while in West Drayton, Isabella and her husband run a lovely restaurant, they even have a ramp and helped my mum who is in a wheelchair enter. Spotless clean, friendly, great food.

We ate at the restaurant quite a few times already and from time to time, when we can’t be bothered with cooking at home I just go and pick up a pizza or two for dinner.

Ordered cannaloni and pizza. Not sure how can anyone call it Italian food. Cannaloni seemed like someone just took it out of the microwave, it was falling apart, very salty. I ate maybe half of it. Pizza was not really Italian style, lots of yellow cheese. A big no no. Had really big hopes for this restaurant because its close to home and there are no nice restaurants around but it was a big disappointment. Can't believe people who work there are Italian. Any Italian person who would try this food would be probably disgust. Its harsh but it was really bad.

Visited here for my birthday in January and have been here a few times before. The family who run it are just brilliant, they look after you from start to finish. The food is all freshly made and tastes like my mama used to make (She was italian) all starters mains sweets are perfect, my favourite are the mussels. It's a small restaurant so booking is advisable, it's a must place for a visit and the fact its not part of a chain makes it all the better.

Had an impromptu dinner out at Positano a few days ago and what can I say, great food (I had Chicken Cacciatore - delicious!) and great service. Knocks spots off the ‘chain’ Italian restaurants. If you’re a local or even just visiting the area then I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending you try this little gem out.

Excellent Italian food (less than 20 min from LHR). Family run and it feels like grandma is cooking. Pizza but also great homemade pastas and Italian dishes. Solid Italian wine list as well. I'll be going back

My wife and I have been wanting to try Positano ever since they first opened. Thankfully we managed to get out for a 'date night' tonight.

Just got back from a team 'late X-mas' lunch there. Restaurant was quiet, being an early January lunch time so our reservation was not required. We just went for main course, with one of our vegetarians asking to adapt the Puttanesca, which was no problem. Waitress was helpful and friendly.

I went to the restaurant recently and I have to say the service was beyond pathetic. The waitress was rude and did not seem to care about serving us. I did not feel welcome there at all and could sense the waitress’ reluctantance to give us a table. For a family run restaurant you would expect the guests to be treated with warmth and I did Not get that experience.

This is the best Italian restaurant in the neighbourhood. Super friendly people, great food and tasteful decor. I always enjoy the homemade spaghetti dishes after a busy day of work. Thank you so much for the wonderful food!

Positano is relatively new to W Drayton and my first experience there last weekend left me wanting to come back. Friendly staff, the menu has a good variety of choices and the food was spectacular! I’m certainly going back to try more of their cuisine.

We booked this restaurant on a whim. Wanted a restaurant that was easy for each of us to get to (3 friends from NW London, Maidenhead and Heathrow). And what a find. The food was fantastic, we had it all, various starters, mains and desserts. Delicious authentic Italian, relaxed ambience...I highly recommend it.

This was our first time to Positano and it certainly wont be our last. The food was excellent and the service from the owners lovely - very friendly and chatty. The food tastes home cooked and we really enjoyed it.

This is an outstanding little place. Genuinely Italian business with authentic food. We found this place whilst looking for houses in the area, have been there several times since then. The owners are always around and will come to the table to check on your food, very nice. Love the arancini as startes, I have tried the lamb, the pizza and the pasta and it never disappoint. No surprise it is always busy when I pass by on my way home.

We’ve dined at Positano since it first opened, the service is impeccable. The kitchen is open so you can actually see them cooking, the food is lovely, pasta is handmade and everything is fresh and cooked on the spot. Delicious food and friendly atmosphere - quite a little haven in West Drayton. Wonderful mushroom ravioli and aubergine, cheese and tomato parmigiana di melanzane with great wine and beer selection - thoroughly enjoyable early supper tonight!

I had a very nice meal with friends for a double birthday celebration. There was a nice atmosphere although the music could have been a little quieter in my opinion so we could talk to each other without raised voices. The food was very good and reasonable priced.
