It felt like dining at a friend’s house — warm and welcoming.

Why go to Prezzo when you have places like this? I had the king prawn pasta at both recently—Prezzo’s was bland, a tiny portion, and barely any prawns. Posillipo’s was on a whole different level—flavour, portion, quality—no comparison. 10/10 for Posillipo, I’ll definitely be back soon.

The food and service were wonderful, it is also kid/family friendly (although my kids are 9&12.) I would definitely recommend and go back again.

Another update to my review after a recent visit, and another fantastic meal. It's pretty much always busy here, testament to the great food, and that leads to a great atmosphere - can be a little loud, but that's better than it being flat! The team here are always super-friendly, helpful and wonderfully efficient, despite the place being so busy. I cannot stress what a difference great service makes and it is much appreciated.. Drinks were great and as ever, the food excellent, always fresh and flavoursome and once again, the seafood specials were amazing! This place sets such a high-bar for local restaurants, it really is an under-appreciated gem. With lovely views by the creek, what more could you ask for from a restaurant. A little piece of foodie heaven...

Amazing food, great staff, really enjoyed the vegan menu, beautiful wine!

Our table was booked for 7:30, we arrived at 7:20 and we're told our table wasn't ready and we sat outside waiting until eventually we were led into the conservatory at 8. The restaurant was busy and service was very slow so from a late start things just got later. We had heard that beer was expensive and inquired before booking whether the restaurant served regular (normal priced) beer, we were assured they did - however they didn't. I checked the drinks menu and asked a waiter - none, only speciality beers at the equivalent of £10.24/pint (£5.95 for 330ml). I was amazed at the font used for the wine section of the menu, different to the font used in the beer section, it was very easy to mistake 9 and 0, especially in the subdued conservatory lightning. I was left wondering how many customers bought a bottle of wine for £29.50 thinking it was £20.50. When it eventually arrived the food was nothing special to not very good, also because of the late start and slow service some of our group had gone past being hungry while others were concerned about the drive into London. So- Conservatory - nice, Service - nothing special and slow, Food - nothing to shout about Drinks - expensive and confusing wine menu So to alter the catchphrase of Juke Box Jury 'Oi'll give it two (2/5)' {I might be showing my age} Would not recommend and won't return.

Really nice food, on the expensive side though

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the independent Italian restaurant Posillipo, just a short walk away from where we were staying in beautiful Faversham. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxed date-night in a charming setting down by the Creek. The atmosphere inside was warm and lively, and we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious starter followed by superb, flavoursome mains. We also shared a bottle of the house red, which was pleasantly drinkable. The only disappointment was the tiramisu. Unfortunately, it came in a very shallow dish with just a single, stingy layer—hardly worth the rather steep price. A proper tiramisu should have at least three layers! That aside, it was a wonderful experience overall. The staff were all very friendly, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.. but wouldn’t bother with puddings.

Been here several times and you couldn't fault the food. On the last occasion two starters and one main course was spot on but one dish was poor . The pork was tough and bland.

It’s a different kind of cuisine from what we’re used to, but full of flavors that make you want to start cooking this way yourself. Wine list and other beverages: A wide selection of Italian wines and Italian sodas. Very pleasant setting, with an elegant style that reflects Italy. There’s both a covered terrace and a sunny terrace available. The staff is dynamic, very friendly, and always smiling. We're brushing up on our Italian to have a chat 😁, even though you can easily speak English. Finally, the menu is that of a traditional restaurant—reasonably priced. Your bill reflects the quality of the food, so there are no regrets—except maybe not being able to eat more! But we’ll definitely be back... Extraordinary cuisine. Fresh or dried pasta, homemade tomato puree. The pizzas are prepared and baked in the oven in front of you. A cuisine different from ours but rich in flavors that makes you want to start cooking this way. Wine and other drinks list: Large selection of Italian wines and Italian lemonades. Very pleasant setting, elegant style corresponding to Italy. A covered terrace as well as a sunny terrace are available. The staff is dynamic, very pleasant and smiling. We're going to brush up on our knowledge of Italian to chat 😁 even if you can chat in English. Finally, the menu is a traditional restaurant menu, at a reasonable cost, your bill corresponds to the quality of the food so we have no regrets except not having been able to eat more but we will come back... Might be worth training your staff to know what the dishes are. We had to play guess the pasta on Friday.... Best we got from the serving staff was "something with prawns in"...... If you have allergies, as one of our party did, it's a bit like Russian roulette.... So good luck....

A very pleasant establishment! We ate well and the atmosphere was very pleasant. An effort made on children's menus. In short, we don't regret having traveled a bit to get there.

Food was brilliant Gnocchi and the pizza were delicious. Side salad was great too. Cocktails excellent and the location in the sun was just perfect.

Had a large family birthday meal out, we were well accommodated. Service was good and friendly. No mistakes with the large order. Food was tasty and throughly enjoyed. Will try to return if in the area.

A friend had highly recommended this lovely restaurant so we decided to give it a go. The service was spectacular! I ordered the gnocchi Zucca...boy oh boy was it sensational! The sauce was magnifico! I will definitely recommend this gorgeous restaurant to friends and family!

All good. If you like your Italian food with an authentic edge then this is the place to go. The fact that I can't do dairy and my wife can't do gluten wasn't a problem and my calzone with vegan cheese was actually really tasty -- not compromised at all.

I've been here a few times over the years and it's always the same high standard as my initial visit. Food is great, staff are helpful. Didn't appreciate them adding their own service charges though

Meeting up with friends, Posillipo is perfect as it is fully accessible for those with mobility issues. Arriving for lunch at 1 we were shown to our table inside the restaurant as it was way to cold for outdoors and even though the conservatory has heaters we didn't fancy eating in our coats. This Saturday was the triple market weekend in Faversham and the restaurant was packed. The menu offers a great range of authentic Italian dishes and all three courses were delicious, my gnocchi with gorgonzola was particularly good. My only quibble is that because of the number of dinners service was rather slow and a bit chaotic at times, drinks turned up one at a time, starters took quite a while to appear and one main had to be chased, Staff were very pleasant and apologetic for the delays but it did slightly impact the otherwise excellent experience.

Attractive Italian restaurant near the quay with excellent pasta and antipasti. Enjoyed the grilled veg to start which were lightly vinegary and crunchy. Pasta was creamy and delicious with lots of seafood. Staff all fairly young but professional and friendly. Took a while to get the restaurant full and buzzing but we did eat early at 5ish, and once it livened up it was a rustic, family atmosphere.

The meal early this evening was divine!! And the wine!!! Wow

What a fabulous restaurant. We have been twice with our little grandson. The manager couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming even remembering that we asked for more sauce last time and brought extra over.

A last minute decision to go out for dinner on a Saturday night without a reservation. We turned up mid evening to a very full and buzzing restaurant and were immediately found a table, possibly the last available. The restaurant is large with a nice outdoor patio area with planters and heaters, and large windows offering views over the river; some of the tables inside seem very close together. The menu offers a good choice and range of popular and classic Italian dishes; we opted to share a couple of pizza which arrived promptly, were of a generous size, nicely cooked on a good base and with a good quantity of tasty toppings. Posillipo is a small chain of (3?) Kent based restaurants and the menu offers many of the usual dishes found in the larger Italian chains as well as some dishes found in smaller independent restaurants. Service was mostly efficient and swift, verging occasionally on a little rushed and inattentive. We thought the food prices were reasonable but the drinks seemed overpriced but not sufficient to stop us from returning.

My favourite restaurant in Kent for families and gatherings with friends. You feel just like in Italy! The staff and in particular the manager is always extremely friendly and he wants what's best for you! The food is fresh and traditional Italian, they also have a special menu of the week that I highly recommend! I had better pizza than in Italy. The only issue is that you cannot stay longer than 2-3 hours because they are fully booked, especially during the weekends. Very "kids friendly" and I highly recommend you the red wine Bonarda! Best red wine that it is served cold! It goes with everything in the menu! If you love seafood and pizza, than you must try pizza possilipo!

My son and I have just had a delicious meal here this evening. We both had starters from the specials board; I then had the pizza alla N'duja and he had the seafood risotto. We both had tiramisu for dessert with coffee. This is the second time I have eaten here; his first time. The whole experience was fantastic: the food was exceptional and the service second to none! We will certainly be returning.

Great lunch and excellent service. The brilliant waiting staff even sang Happy Birthday to me, after my wife mentioned it was my birthday! All in all, a very pleasant celebration of my big day, and we will return.

Great meal with friends and as expected the food is cooked fresh and uses Good quality ingredients, how do I know? Because my Step Son is a chef in the restaurant and has been cooking here since he was 14. This is a special occasion restaurant so don't expect the prices to be average, they are slightly above average, but worth it.

Three Friends booked into our local Posillipo Restaurant for lunch due it being one of our Birthdays. Two had a starter both very satisfied. All three chose a mains dish. Plus a bottle of Peroni Larger. All very happy eaters. No room for Puddings. Two of us chaps were treated to lunch by the Birthday Lady of our group. We tried to protest but being Feminist supporters did not push our luck. A very pleasant lunch in a lovely Restaurant with excellent service and food. Very busy advise booking in advance.

The menu is simply too big for everything on it to be good. Which was our experience.

We had a fabulous lunch, the food was delicious and oh boy there's plenty of it, we both had a starter and main but had no room left for dessert. We went on a Monday, it wasn't really busy so we didn't have any trouble finding a parking place outside. I'd assume that it would be rather more difficult at the weekend. It's a lovely spot too. Can't recommend it enough.

We eat here semi frequently and always have a lovely meal. The backdrop of the creek makes it even more enjoyable. The selection of food on the menu is great as are the drinks. This time we had pizzas, gnocchi and pasta. All of which were cooked well and served hot. Starters and puddings were also great!

Had a nice family lunch here. Some decent specials and the staff were brilliantly busy and attentive, friendly and polite. The food was good but a few mistakes (sautee potatoes were extremely salty, calamari seemed fresh but was chewy). Everything else was spot on so really a fair 8/10 for food. I will return on a quieter service for a second opinion (the place was busy and rightly so).

A lively atmosphere on a Saturday night. Plenty of choice on the menu and wine list. Our only slight quibble was the need to leave promptly to permit a second sitting.

He went above and beyond for us including being really kind and friendly with 5 excitable children . Everything was spot on which is rare with such a big group even down to the drinks. Had an absolutely fantastic experience at Posillipo in Faversham! From the moment we walked in, the beautiful Italian decor and cozy atmosphere set the perfect scene for a memorable evening. The attention to detail in the decor—think rustic charm mixed with elegance—made it feel like a slice of Italy right here in Kent. The staff were wonderful, striking just the right balance of being attentive yet giving us space to enjoy our evening. You can tell they genuinely care about providing a great experience, as everyone was so warm and friendly. The service was prompt and thoughtful. The food, of course, was incredible—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish had that perfect homemade touch.

Came in and asked to have a table outside to drink, the waiter seemed unhappy with our request and rudely said he’d be right out to take our order, he never came out. This is the second time that waiter has served us, the time before he was so rude too. The food was nice last time but his service was poor and every time you ask for a drink it seems to bother him.

Lovely meal and attentive, friendly staff. Tasty specials and enjoyable, atmosphere. Wine was beautiful and the team managed our large group well.

We were looking for a place to have, hopefully, a good lunch to mark the end of our week’s break in North Kent. Walking back along the creek we came across Posillipo. It looked inviting and as we walked in we knew we had found the right place. The setting alongside the creek was lovely but just too chilly to eat out. We were warmly welcomed and led to a table. The service was excellent. Attentive but discrete. There was time to chat and enjoy the ambience of the place. We both ate of The Specials - lamb ragù and orzo pasta with scallops. Lovely food. Well presented, well cooked and just a tad different. My wife loved the homemade gelato. Did we find our final day’s good lunch? We certainly did. It is a shame we live 170 miles away otherwise this would become a regular place to eat. Thank you.

The pasta was fresh and sauce was rich and flavourful. Do try their Carbonara. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes.

My partner and I had a delightful meal here after a lovely day in Hastings. We hadn’t planned for a meal out but decided we fancied Italian and knew Posilippos was highly rated and on the way home. We had a 3 course meal (obviously) and every course was delicious. For starters we had mozzarella focaccia and Caprese salad. Both were absolutely delectable!! For mains, my partner went safe with a king prawn linguine. This was delicious. The pasta was fresh and the prawns were huge!!! I however went risky. I opted for the butternut squash Gnocchi with King prawn. I wasn’t expecting this to be as amazing as it was. This meal was an absolute flavour bomb!! This was honestly in the top 10 meals I have ever eaten and I have eaten all over the world!! For pudding we shared a delicious cookie with coconut and hazelnuts. It finished the meal off perfectly and

This is not the first time we have visited but on this occasion I can only rate 4 stars. Our food was beautiful, great portion sizes and absolutely delicious. However, on this visit the server received was not what we had experienced on previous visits and was quite disappointing. We had a long wait for a member of staff to pass to ask for simple things like salt for fries. We also weren't offered cheese or black pepper for our pasta, which other tables were. We were also asked if we'd like water, this never appeared and again to ask for another drink took a long time, then another 20 minutes before the drink arrived. Such a shame as the experience would have been just as great as it had always been had the staff been more polite and attentive.

Four of us ate! ,all in all pretty good! Enjoyed service because I had a waitress who bit back,which I like ! Weather was great which helped. Pricing was entertaining but that seems to be the norm now!

We'd walked from Whitstable to Faversham on a hot day, so our meal was incredibly welcome. We sat outside and really enjoyed the view. Appreciated that you can order house wine by the carafe - as this was the ideal quantity for a late lunch. I had the Insalata Napoli (dried bread, tuna, olives, tomatoes) which was so delicious I've made it at home a few times since.

Very nice Italian restaurant nestled on the Creek front in Faversham. Authentic Italian flavours and style. Pasta and risotto dishes very tasty. The Italian limonata 'lemonade' is refreshing. Service could be a little more professional as we were brought the main course during the starter, though I would suggest this is due to bad management training than staff incompetence. This however does not detract from the exquisite flavours of our food. Recommend a visit here. A very pleasant way to spend an evening without an exhorbitant bill.

We went here yesterday for the first time with family and were so impressed by the service and food. Lovely atmosphere and location. Staff were so accommodating to our young children and all our dishes were great! Even the kids menu was very good. Definitely will be back!

Nice meal friendly staff great selection of wines. Update.. been several times since the first post,,this visit poor staffing waited 25 mins for drinks then 35 mins after for mains to come out. Food is still at a good standard just poor staffing.

Always been one of my favourites, but have been a few times recently and is shockingly understaffed. Waiting 30 minutes for drinks, asking several times for water. Little attention paid to guests. Would hesitate to go again

Excellent all round, amazing delicious food, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable waiting staff, great location, and great selection on food menu and the wine menu. Lots of things on the menu I fancied. Went with Pizza and it was one of the best I had tasted. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to sit out after a town walk in the early evening sunshine with an Italian beer and lovely food. Great service despite being pretty busy. We'll return but are unlikely to capture the ambience of this occasion.
