Went to the Porterhouse for the Sunday carvery on recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were welcoming but certainly not in your face. We had to ask them for the menus, when we got them, the waitress casually said give someone a shout when you are ready to order. The choices was not massive but more then sufficient with 4 starters , a couple of mains plus the carvery and 4 sweets. We all had a different starter and everyone enjoyed their own one. One had fish and chips for their main and it was a cracking size of fish, the rest of us had carvery it was excellent, the roast beef was amazing as was the turkey and gammon. Great array of vegetables and this is where I drop one star for them, the carvery food was on the cool side, but plenty of it wow you certainly need a big appetite here. 3 of our party had a mixture of sweets which again were very good , I had a mug of coffee and it was no small mug there was no way I could finish it and by the way very reasonably priced

Went tonight for steaks and wine oh my god the flavour and taste was mouth watering. We also ordered peppercorn sauce and a portion of onion rings. We have been here previously but not for a long time. In all honestly we should go more often. Although I wasn't going to I decided that I wanted sticky toffee for a sweet, that was a close run contest as I love cheesecake. All the food being served looked first class. I love fish and a customer next to our table had fish, the fish was large with beautiful white flesh it looked so good that I felt like tucking into her meal. Would I recommend eating here absolutely would I return absolutely. Two sirloin steaks a bottle of rose wine, portion onion rings, peppercorn sauce, pint of lager and sticky toffee pudding with a tip on Thursday night all for £60 . Get it booked what are you waiting for. My only regret is I didn't take photos to add that was because I was too busy wanting to get to the food !!!

Fife Arms Hotel Restaurant

12/12/2018: I had booked lunch for 5 persons but had to change to 6 persons on arrival. No problem. Staff quickly set another place at the table. Drinks order was taken fairly quickly and 3 menus provided. It was perfectly acceptable to select from any of the menus on a mix and match basis.
26/08/2018: We dine here every couple of months, sometimes more - usually during a Friday or Saturday evening.
