Porter House Bros in Bradford

A great place to dine if you want a huge range of menu items to choose from, including an expert made drinks menu. The service of the waiting staff and kitchen was exceptional, especially considering we dined on a Saturday evening with the restaurant at full capacity. I would recommend the smoke-pulled beef fries and sirloin udon noodles as the star menu items, though the seafood and smoked meat selection are outstanding.

We arrived here to a fairly empty restaurant but were told it would be a 30 minute wait. After being eventually seated and having ordered food, we had to wait approx. 45 minutes before it came. We had ordered a prawn platter, meat platter, chicken steak, and sirloin steak. Prawn platter: This was extremely disappointing. We love prawns and often eat at Jimmys Killer Prawns in Manchester so we’re expecting a similar experience. However, these were the complete opposite. The prawns were rubbery in texture and awful to chew, lacked any flavour besides the sheer amount of sauce they were drenched in, and worst of all the prawns weren’t deveined so the black intestine could be seen which was off-putting. I would avoid this and if you’re expecting Jimmys style prawns then these are not it! Smoked meat platter: Sausages, chops, wings, ribs were fairly average. The brisket was really poor, it was chewy and hard not soft and melt in your mouth like smoked food should be. I’m fairly certain the meat is smoked using artificial smoker/flavouring and not properly slow cooked in a BBQ smoker. Again I would avoid and comparing to other places like Pitmasters, this was not great at all. Chicken steak: Average. Nothing special but was nice compared to the other dishes and did the job. Sirloin: The steak was really nice and the peppercorn sauce. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare and is definitely something I’d order again. Overall, the experience both from a service and culinary perspective was really disappointing and I would not come here again. The alternatives that offer the same food are simply better.

What can I say. Dry and flavourless meat, overcooked lobster, rocking tables. Slow and miserable service. Cheap seating a decor. Absolute ruined a birthday meal. If you want to waste your time and money come to porterhouse bros in Bradford. No wonder they pay TikTok influencers to promote their business

We traveled here from Manchester, we order a seafood platter also the meat platter was told there out of sea food and was out of a lot of drinks also when our food came the lamb was quite hard and it all had the same taste there is a very big onion bloom in the middle which I think is what your paying for as there is very little meat in the platter there’s more onion. I’m sorry I wouldn’t recommend this place wasn’t for us.

Staff was nice The food was enjoyable The only thing I disliked was that it was served on a cold plate. My food was slightly warm but not hot.

Had a birthday party and decided to celebrate in porter house bros, Booked a table for 7pm and arrived on time, had to wait a little while although the place wasn’t full The person taking the order for the food and drinks had difficulty understanding what we was saying, Eventually we placed a order for starters and mains and drinks, we had a party of 4 people, The starters blooming onions some of the batter was cooked and some of the onion still raw, when I informed the waiter he just said that’s how it is brother, £8 we didn’t eat it! The prawns of the starter was nice and plentiful and well tasty, The fish my wife had, didn’t have any seasoning and just didn’t taste nice or fresh, £12 so she didn’t eat it, I had a steak I asked for medium rare, it arrived well done and very dry, I asked the waiter if it came with chips and he said no so I ordered chips, but it didn’t come with chips, I couldn’t eat the steak as I don’t like it dry and well done, but I also didn’t have any cutlery, and I asked 3 staff members for cutlery they didn’t listen or ignored me, after about 10 mins I went up to a person and asked for cutlery and he informed me kitchen hadn’t sent any cutlery I told him I’m eating steak that’s served on a wooden board it’s already cold, he came back a few mins later with a fork, and he made me think he was doing me a favour, when he gave it, the steak cold and dry by now wasn’t appetising, I tried to eat it but I couldn’t £35 for the steak and £3.50 for the chips that I didn’t need! I forgotten what the others ate, but the waiter sold us 4 portions of chips that we didn’t need, as the other meals also came with chips, Bottom line is it’s a expensive place, some staff seem to be friendly and genuine, other staff don’t have a clue, food could be better, I estimated we paid £25 for things we didn’t need, so got wasted and also paying £35 for a steak that I couldn’t eat, that was just bad service So why give 2 stars, well I think this restaurant has potential to do better, I think we just didn’t get the best service nor food and it might have been a one off, Might give it another go!

Very very good restaurant, probably the best I have tried!!! We went there twice for dinner and nothing to complain about. The dishes are generous, tasty and the prices reasonable. The first evening we each had a Smoked-pulled beef fries (in photo) and we were full, this dish is normally a starter. The second evening we had a 66 Route Burger, a Chicken Fillet, Spicy Rice, Mac And Cheese and a Peppercorn Sauce. A real treat. You have to love atypical and very spicy cuisine! I previously rated this 3 stars but have updated this following a further visit. We visited during the week to avoid a rush and as envisaged, the place was very quiet so we expected better service and hoped for better food. The steaks were not cooked as requested, but we didn't mind and continued with the meal. We had also ordered a seafood platter which was terrible (this is me being polite). It lacked any real taste/flavour and the lobster was definitely not fresh. The service was slow and somewhat chaotic and I needed to ask for clean cutlery on more than one occasion. The hype around this place is NOT REAL. Needing to spend approx £80 per person for a sub par meal is not acceptable.

The food really isn’t what you’d expect for the price. I thankfully got a chicken burger with chips which was ok - nothing special and definitely not worth £15. The chips were somehow greasy and dry at the same time - an incredible feat, really. I had a strawberry daiquiri which was mostly nice but had a weird hint of cumin in it. One of my friends ordered the crab cakes which she said tasted like supermarket fish cakes. Her mushroom sauce was runny with lumps in - again, crazy how they managed that. My other friend ordered prawns which were slathered in sauce, yet still somehow ridiculously bland. She seemed to enjoy the pulled beef loaded fries, however. Unfortunately, none of us will eat here again.

Came from High Wycombe on weekend out. Always wanted to try seafood boil. Absolutely phenomenal. The base sauce was flavourful. Everything tasted well seasoned and was fresh. Lobster was phenomenal. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The roasted bone marrow was delicious. The blooming onion dipped in sauce was really nice. All the dipping sauces really were deep in flavour. One other thing, the portions are massive. We ordered the seafood boil for 2 and there were 3 of us and we struggled to finish it. You have to try this place. You really won't be disappointed. The manager Khalid (no relation) was welcoming and extremely polite.

We ordered x2 chicken steaks, bbq ribs and beef ribs, baby fish and chips, nothing tasted nice at all, the fish had the skin on, the ribs was hard and chew and the chicken steaks were the same, I wouldn’t recommend at all, paid £140 for some food we didn’t even eat, and walked out hungry still, the few bites I did try felt so sickly.

Staff were nice, but with a less busy time of the week and minimum customers eating in, they were at time slow. Steak could have been better, it was just a massive chunk, could have helped by tenderising it bit. The side of sauce were not what I expected, nothing like mushroom sauce. The menu had plenty of food to choose from, I might make another visit sometime to review again but for now just happy to give it a 4 star

Great place! Parking a little tricky. Food was good tried some seafood starters. For the main I got the lamb rack and it was nice but the portion size could be a little larger, considering the price. The size of the ribeye was huge! Quality was great.

If google had 0 stars that would be the rating for this place, this was such a terrible experience and we traveled all the way from Newcastle for it. The beef ribs were stale and had a nasty, unpleasant old taste. I ordered a Wagyu steak, but it was obvious they served a regular steak instead, completely misrepresenting the quality, at higher price. To make things worse, the sausages tasted like they had been boiled with no flavor at all—bland and completely tasteless. Definitely not worth the money. I will never be coming back.

Not the best food I've had, was okay at best

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! My family and I drove almost 2 hours to try it out after receiving a recommendation from some friends. I must say, we were beyond impressed with everything. The food was incredibly delicious, the staff was so welcoming, and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. Not to mention, the prices were very fair, and the portions were so generous that we had to take leftovers home. We wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Visited this place for the first time on Sunday with family and friends and we had a really nice time. Not only food was nice( we had the large seafood boil) but the staff was also top notch. Good atmosphere too. Will definitely be visiting again. Good job guys.

Burger was decent, but the steak we ordered was a little Raw. Decent food, we might have just landed on a bad day. Heard good things about the place, but unfortunately we didn't have the best experience especially for the price we paid.

Pro's; - Service was quick - Big menu - Easy to find Cons; - The decor needs a refresh. - The food was OK. I was expecting better for the price. Portions are OK. - Drinks were nice. - With a meat platter you'd expect some nice sauces to compliment the different meats but you get some dipping sauce, which is just burger sauce. - Lamb chops had a lot of fat on them - The wings are OK. All the food was quite average. I didn't eat anything that made we want to eat more of it. Just ate it because I was hungry!

The customer service was excellent, but the steaks were cooked incorrectly. The manager quickly addressed the issue and provided a discount and complimentary desserts. Overall, the service was outstanding. 10/10

This was a very disappointing experience. However I will start by saying that the meats on the BBQ platter were all very nice and ‘fall off the bone’. I had a lobster roll which was very overpriced for what it was, tiny pieces of tasteless lobster mashed in with so much sauce and chopped vegetables, also the bread bun was far too large. The blooming onion on the BBQ platter had clumps of uncooked flour between the layers of onion which was very unpleasant. Additionally, the drinks took far too long to arrive (took the same amount of time as the food for two bottles of coke zero and an orange juice). The music was sporadic and rarely heard, the atmosphere was not warm or comfortable. Another tip, don’t put fine salt into a salt grinder, it completely defeats the purpose of a grinder and the salt was just free pouring out every time the grinder was lifted, very silly. We wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and unfortunately will not be back but our compliments for the well cooked meats!

Came here with great expectations. All the way from Preston. We were looking forward to the seafood. We ordered the ribs, chops and pulled beef loaded fries and the calamari for starters. The pulled beef We found too sweet however we still enjoyed them. The ribs and calamari were amazing, the chops were nice. For the mains we ordered a prawn platter. The prawns were overcooked, the sauce was grainy and bland and the prawns hadn't been cleaned!!! So so off-putting! The waiter was very understanding and took them away. He was under the impression that it was just the prawn vein, when actually it's the poo!! Did not expect this from somewhere that does so much seafood. We also found it difficult to communicate with some of the staff as their English wasn't the best.

We had a small seafood boil it was amazing lots of seafood not padded out with potatoes ect it was full of flavour everything was cooked to perfection. The others at our table had steak and it looked and tasted wonderful.The staff were brilliant attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant was clean spacious and is well appointed. We will definitely be back .

I really wanted to give 5 stars but unfortunately there were some items on the menu that were unavailable and only a choice of only two drinks (Coke and Fanta) when we visited. Other than that the food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Thank you, we will definitely be back!

Seen porterhouse on Instagram booked a table for the next day and wasn't disappointed. Had steak with lobster and a pile of prawns all cooked great. Service second to none and head boss man looked after us. Deffo could become a regular.

We had pulled beef loaded fries and a boiled seafood bowl (small) which was more than enough for 2 adults! Food quality is absolutely amazing, fresh seafood and made super well. Sadly didn't make good pictures.. Will definitely be coming back 😊

Was alright but hygiene in the toilets isn't good

We arrived around 8pm for my birthday meal I had been looking forward to. Especially considering the mass of great reviews about the restaurant. What a let down from the word go. We went to the International instead. Upon arriving we were seated at a dirty table with dirty cutlery and dirty glasses. The menus that were on the table were falling apart and dirty pieces of paper attached to a clipboard not even laminated. We left without ordering. We cannot give an honest review about the food. Will not be going back. Rude staff, our host didn't greet us, just pointed at the table. How sad.

Hi we went for a birthday meal , the meat in chicken steak and chicken burger were pink .My son ordered a fishburger was really stinky although the waiters were very attentive and we were not charged for the two chicken meals but we still payed over £60 for food that was definitely not restaurant standard plus spoilt our meal out

I'm a UK..Ireland and European Tour Coach driver...I've eaten in so many different places and tasted food both bad and good...I can't lie..this is by far the best meal I've ever tasted...and all for £24...I highly recommend a visit and enjoy the platter for 1

We went to Porter House Bro and ordered the seafood Boil and sirloin steak and wow.... a lot of seafood 🍤 🦐 🦞 we just just couldn't finish it all, very tasty food. We would highly recommend if you're a seafood lover. 😀

Me and the wife went on Saturday night. Hadn't booked a table but got there at 5.30 ish so was pretty quiet. Wife ordered a 2nd choice mocktail after she was told they didn't have her first choice but she didn't like it. Not to worry, plenty of sprite. She had the lamb ribs starter which she enjoyed and I had the blooming onion which I'm pretty sure could be a sharing starter but I smashed the lot. Glorious. For the main, came the "small" seafood boil. We have never had one but we enjoyed it. The amount of food in it is quite daunting for only 2 though, and we couldn't eat it all. I didn't realise it would be so much work trying to crack crabs legs open, peeling massive prawns and smashing lobster shells though. Music got a little loud and shrill at times and the restaurant was rammed when we left about 90 mins later. If your going after 6.30pm, deffo book ahead.

Overall a very positive dining experience. Waiters very friendly and food was served fairly quickly. Nice atmosphere too. The pulled beef loaded fries was the best dish. We tried the prawn platter and steaks too. Lots of variety on the menu including lobster, tiger prawns and calamari.

Not the best experience due to the restaurant being very, very busy during our visit. Due to this the service suffered with our food taking over 40 minutes to arrive. Husband’s steak was bland and the chips/mash were very dry. I enjoyed the beef sliders, however. Manager on duty was very considerate and offered a discount on our bill for the inconvenience hence the 4 stars for service. Food and atmosphere remain at 3 stars for the above reasons. I do think we would have enjoyed our visit more had we had come during a less busy time, something to keep in mind for next time.

We went here after reading the google reviews. First of all, this restaurant would benefit from a ventilation system because it was so stuffy inside. Plus, I think the owners are slightly confused on the theme of the restaurant because there’s an underwater, jungle and flower theme in one. Secondly, the food was OK. I ordered a grilled salmon with sides of chips and broccoli. The salmon needed extra seasoning and was quite bland in flavour. The salad looked like packet salad, the ones you can purchase from supermarkets, so it wasn’t fresh. Saying this, the broccoli was beautiful. My friend ordered the rib-eye steak with mash and chips. The steak was mostly burnt and there was still a lot of fat left on the meat. And how hard is it to get mash wrong? Because the mash was lumpy. The music was awful, switching from Punjabi Rap to Afghanistani Folk music to The Weeknd. I wouldn’t come here again.

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE We arrived the restaurant at around 8pm and there is no customers inside the restaurant except us. We ordered a small paella, a grilled cod and a lobster roll at first. We are both disappointed with the outlook of the lobster roll. We didn’t expect it to be a cold plate but something like the one I ate in Burger and Lobster. We can’t even taste any of the lobster meat in the lobster roll. £23 for a lobster roll without lobster? Definitely not worthy at all. For the grilled cod, the cod is really stink. The cod had gone bad and we had informed the waiter about it. We did not expect a restaurant to serve spoiled food to customers and this is actually quite disappointing. The waiter asked us to change our plate to something else so we tried the grilled meat platter as we were worried to give another chance for the seafood because of its quality. The meat platter and the paella tasted much better than the seafoods. However, the blooming onion followed with the meat platter could be done better. The blooming onion was completely raw inside. I really love to eat fried onions and therefore I am expecting something in a better quality. We also ordered a truffle and Parmesan fries, mac and cheese, and creamy spinach as sides. We can’t taste any truffle flavour in the fries. The Mac and cheese is a bit overcooked and the seasonings are too mild. We really gave a high expectation to the restaurant because of the reviews we saw online. However, the dining experience disappointed us a lot and we will not be visiting again. The spoiled cod is such a traumatic experience for both of us. I do hope the restaurant could reflect on the quality of food provided and I do not hope any of this event will happen again.

The menu of this place looks so appealing but the food is really poor. We were excited to go try this place out after seeing it on a few social media platforms. We got the blooming onion, bang bang prawns, salt & pepper calamari and the beef short ribs for starters. The blooming onion came out cold, the waiter was fab and took it back straight away. When it returned I found it very surprising as it looked as if they had taken the entire thing and refried it - but we had clearly eaten from it. Not sure how I feel about eating at a restaurant where they’ve put something partially eaten back into the fryer, surely there’s some food hygiene rules surrounding that? The salt and pepper calamari was bad, the calamari itself was very chewy, it wasn’t enjoyable, the batter had come off and there was only crumbs of it left intact, proportions were also off with it as it came drowning in a heap of onions and peppers whilst there was only maybe 6 pieces of calamari in there. The beef short ribs were cooked well but lacked any real taste. The prawns were the best out of their starters, good presentation and taste, I’d give that a 7-8/10. The sirloin steak was flavourless. The mac and cheese didn’t have any sauce to it and the pasta itself was so over cooked it was baby mush, there was hardly any taste or texture to it. The peppercorn sauce was quite mild in flavour, but it was very watery. Food was bad, service was fine, but I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Absolutely beautiful food I’ve been 3 times now and it’s my favourite resteraunt by far. The service is always great, the staff are lovely and so are the chefs. The atmosphere is always nice & relaxing absolutely 10/10 food and place I would recommend it to everyone! If you don’t try you’re certainly missing out.

Absolutely amazing, 5 star chef. Best sea food experience at this price point in the UK. The smoked brisket ( Pastrami and salted) is top quality, tender and perfectly smoked. The staff are really helpful and nice. I would give more stars if I could!

Almost an hour wait for food to be served. At least 2 tables who arrived and ordered after us were served before us. Alarm bells were ringing when a waiter asked how the steak was to be cooked 40 minutes after ordering. After the wait, medium rare steak was served medium to well done and a bit tough. Gravy rather than peppercorn space. Burgers were good, but not exceptional. We just ate rather than complain, to avoid even more waiting. We'd had enough. Polite service, hence 2 stars rather than 1.

The prawn cocktail was delicious as well as the surf and turf was cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

The food was made to my preference the sirloin steak was absolutely delicious with top notch service from Omar. I would recommend to anyone who loves their steak.

Good size and delicious meat cuts

I really don’t know where to begin, had such high expectations of this place based on YouTube, instagram reviews as well photos but like they say never, judge a book by its cover. I’m not even exaggerating when I say this has to be by far the most disappointed I’ve been after a meal based on the hype, got two tomahawk steaks for myself and my little brother and goodness me were they bland and absolutely flavourless. My littler brother ordered a medium rare steak but they brought over a well done steak and it was completely tasteless. Probably the worst steak I ever had and this is an absolute disaster considering the money we spent for them. We also ordered some bone marrow to go with it and there was such a foul smell coming from it, I don’t even want to mention what it reminded me of. The waiters were very friendly and polite so there’s no criticism there but the food is all hype from my personal opinion. I’d never come back personally or recommend the place considering the prices and quality received. So underwhelmed by the experience it’s put me off steaks.

Never leave a bad review anywhere but I would not reccomend this place. From the start of our visit, the waiter was extremely rude. The starters were cold, this was fed back to the waiter who didn’t even apologise and just said “I’ll tell the kitchen” the steaks were nice however, I requested it to be well done as I am pregnant and cannot eat steak with blood running through, when the steaks arrived they were medium rare and when I asked for it to be cooked through further, the waiter proceeded to tell me I ordered it this way which I did not. Again, no apology and an eye roll as he took it back to the kitchen. This place is extremely overpriced for the service you receive. Never ever again.

The mixed platter for one was amazing. The lamb ribs were juicy and nice. Grilled haloumi was also nice. Didn't like the bbq brisket loaded fries, the meat was too chewy. Wasn't very busy when we got there so service was great. The music kept skipping and it was annoying and it didn't look like anyone wanted to do anything about it. Great seafood place though.

Lovely service and very attentive staff! Food was absolutely delicious and big portions so took some home as well! It was my birthday so they brought out a whole cake to wish me which was absolutely crazy 🤗 and a total surprise at such a generous gesture!! 🎂 I will definitely be booking again! We had the smoke BBQ 🍖 platter which was all really succulent and falling off the bone. My daughter enjoyed the juicy Prawn Platter 🍤 for one and they were huge!! We also had the Turf platter which was also very delicious 😋 Thankyou PorterHouse Bros 🙏🏽

Had a nice quick meal. Waiters were attentive and polite. Food was decent. Very good quality beef was used. Food was served quite fast as well. Only thing i didn’t like is the gravy and peppercorn were quite runny. Should have been a bit thicker. Most drinks where served in glass bottles but iron bru was served in a glass :(

The food was disappointing; despite ordering a meat platter, it arrived with a large onion dominating the plate. The only saving grace were the lamb chops, although they seemed quite small, . When inquired about portion size and presentation, the manager was rather argumentative.

I went yesterday. The food was amazing. But if you like your desi spices and masala's then this place is not so much for u. I can honestly say I have never had this tender, juicy and tasty meat anywhere else. The prawns would have been amazing if the sauce was not that sweet. In my opinion there should have been more spice with a hint of sweetness in the sauce. The service was on point. The staff were sooo friendly and welcoming. My boy tipped over the prawns Plate. We still had some left, and I think it was the manager that asked me several times that he would happily bring me another plate of prawns at no extra cost although I said no and its no problem. At the checkout I gave my opinion of all the meat and the prawns and said it was too sweet. He became adamant on taking the prawns off my bill and even said to the person that was taking the payment to put prawns bill on him just so that we go home happy and said its on him especially on eid. I no way allowed that to happen but its the thought that counts. So he wasnt trying to steal from the owner he was covering that payment himself. Absoloutely amazing service and food. Would deffinately come again.

Extremely disappointed with my visit after hearing good things about the place. Ordered a steak to be cooked medium-well which arrived more like medium-rare, putting me off straight away. When I spoke to the manager about it he spoke back to me with attitude. I asked for him to take it back to be cooked more, then when it came back there were no chips with it. By this point everyone else had already finished their food and I hadn't even started! When going to pay the bill we also mentioned the issues we had, to then be told 'it is what it is'...

Impeccable service and great food. The food was a decent portion in correlation the prices and they were incredibly accommodating to a large group.

Opened our fasts here today, staff were great , very friendly and helpful but the food wasn’t great. We had the bbq platter for one and the prawn platter. There was some raw items on there. And the drinks were flat and warm. We did receive 10% discount but definitely will not be going back. Very expensive for what it is!

Lovely food lovely staff; we have a fantastic experience there. The best restaurant is Bradford. Will come again.

I loved the sea food boil. The crab was tdf. There was so much of it. The scallops and the lobster were meaty. Loved the sauce it came with. Just irritated at myself that I can't eat a lot in one go. I'm more a nibbler. Will definately re visit and this time pick something off the turf menu.

Bit pricey for what was on offer was very quiet and didn’t help with the family say directly next to us even tho the restaurant was empty, ruined the atmosphere meal was pretty average lobster was like a nambali literally, was advised highly rated chicken steak was decent i must admit overall service is okay

Such a weird place, food was decent, except for my calamari, which were breaded, but soggy and just dumped on loads of salad. The place is tacky, you walk in, and its a steak house, with Asian music playing? The staff are a bit pushy. The floors are slippery, and all of my friends said how dangerous it is. They keep baby tables in the men's toilets. It's pushed as a tik tok or insta place, but it's tacky. Not to mention, it's way too expensive for what it is. I wouldn't mind paying if the experience and service were better. Also, I guess its Muslim owned because they don't sell alcohol or allow you to bring it in, which I respect, but its a steak house. It goes hand in hand.

We picked up a seafood boil to take home and it was beautiful 😍 I was worried that by the time we got it home it would be ruined from the steam in the bag but it was cooked to perfection 👌 came with 2 free sides and they were large portions! Only thing missing was the sausage but with the amount of seafood in there we didn't miss it! Will definitely be going again!

Really disappointing service offered tonight. Called to be told of booking for 8pm. Still stood around waiting after 30 mins. Asked at counter on how much further wait expected. Gentleman just shrugged shoulders and said don't know. A number of people before and after also waiting with no idea on when to get a table. Never been here previously and unlikely to come back here in a hurry.

Amazing food and excellent service!

Been here several times and always thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Was a little hesitant to come back due to all the recent negative reviews however glad we went anyway! Food was amazing as always👍
