This place has a great atmosphere and the BBQ is very decent for London (only Bodeans is better). Staff was very friendly but restaurant always seems very quiet which is a shame. The BBQ pork sandwiches are amazing!

I've visited London a lot of times but never really done the "trendy" Shoreditch/Brick lane scene so today was the day!

The inside is lovely, and the music is of good taste. The food came fast, our server was lovely! Cocktails were strong and tasteful. I had ribs and pulled pork with sweet potato fries and bacon Mac and cheese. All lovely, I'd just say the pulled pork needs to have some BBQ sauce on it, and the BBQ sauce on the table wasn't to my taste. Overall good experience, I've been to a lot worse.

We made a special journey into London as this place was recommended the telegraph we ordered mug of chilli and pulled pork croquettes croquettes were dry then we both ordered Full rack of ribs which were dry and over cooked , when we told waitress she really wasn't bothered , not a place I would go again or recommend,

Went as part of a party of 20!! All the staff are fantastic, the right food came to the right person without lots of asking who's was who's! The food was AMAZING, huge portions, if your going, make sure your hungry!!

Really disappointing. Chicken was dry and flavourless. Next to no sauce. Jalapeños were raw chillies. Sweet potato fries were insipid.

Nos recibieron tan pronto como entramos por la puerta y me llevaron directamente a una mesa donde nos ofrecieron agua de inmediato. Que no estábamos demasiado familiarizado con el menú, así que pedí a la camarera para algunas sugerencias, que eran todos en el clavo! La comida era deliciosa y trajo bien y rápido. Pedimos unos cuantos cócteles, que también eran deliciosos y bien presentados. No puedo esperar a volver más bebidas y cerveza pong! Recomiendo encarecidamente

No recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera. Me llevaron en una comida de trabajo y estuvo enfermo casi inmediatamente después. Yo seguía enfermo al día siguiente. El plato principal estaba tibia y claramente no hecha o habían sufrido contaminación cruzada de alguna manera el precio como cheesecake también el peor en el mundo, Sosa, fina y sencilla sin sabor. Una experiencia terrible.

Myself and two friends visited this restaurant this evening on recommendations from friends. On arrival we were greeted and sat at a table. Within the space of a minute four different staff had come and offered us drinks, a bit ott but showed attentiveness so was ok. The drinks order was taken and one of the drinks was wrong, it was sent back and a pint of lemonade (the original drink) was then ordered. A half came out to the table. We placed the order and the wrong sides came out, however, the waitress running food quickly rectified for us. I have to say the food was amazing and very well cooked and so flavourful. It was delivered fast and hot!We asked for service to be removed due to the two issues and there was no check back and we didn't feel a great service was offered. When we asked for the bill, the drink which was wrong was still on there so we had to ask for it to be removed. They did this and very kindly gave us a discount as an apology for all the mix ups. I would definitely say give this place a go, I would like to think that this was a one off mix up as we all have bad bad days and it was resolved well when brought to their attention! A little bit of focus on these issues would definitely warrant them a 5* review. Again, amazing food thank you!

We had a huge burger and chocolate milkshake with peanut butter...very good and the personal is kind, nice evening

We over ordered, having a my young niece and boyfriend make suggestions. Ribs to share and burgers with meat and pulled pork in them- each for mains was too much food. Could fault the flavours and quality of the meat. The sides were extra delicious.

Had evening meal there. Was told it was very good so we tried it. Was very disappointed, and not impressed by food at all. My partner had the ribs, which were very dry, and very little meat. I had a pulled pork burger, which wasn't appetising. Overall, it's not a place I would recommend, based on our experience.

I live locally to this place and wanted to try it out as the previous occupiers of this space served pretty decent cocktails. Porky's had a drinks menu - which I selected a Mojito from - but my friend wanted a Cosmopolitan. We were told "No Problem". Waited about 15 mins for 2 drinks & when they came they were just dumped on our table. I tried mine & it was waaaaaaaaay too sweet. My friend tried her cosmo and it was way too harsh - basically all vodka. Called the waiter over & explained that it was like whoever made these drinks could NOT have sampled their product as no-one with any kind of reputation would have wanted to serve these sickly & strong drinks. Waiter goes off and comes back saying that "the cocktail maker is just in training right now so apologies if she didn't get the drinks quite right". No offer to remake them, no offer of a discount (because we weren't going to finish the drinks we had been served) so he just drops the check on us and its some £12 for 2 drinks. We paid ASAP and just wanted to get out of there. On our way out, passed the bartender (and trainee) and even though we tried to (nicely) feed back, the two of them were too busy flirting with each other to take any notice of us. Never again, crap place that doesn't care about patrons. Avoid...

Really enjoyed our meal here - lovely staff and massive heaps of delicious food. I had a very tasty pulled pork burger with a very good side of mac & cheese, and my partner had the meatiest ribs ever - I'm not a fan of ribs but they were delicious! We couldn't hope to finish it all, so I got a doggy bag and made the leftovers into a ragu when I got home. Bargain.

Enjoyed authentic pulled pork , great smoky flavours and service was perfect. Atmosphere is very nice and many choices.

This place looked good from the outside, and to be fair the side dishes were the best part of the meal. My friend ordered a chicken burger but was served chicken thigh inside the bun (cutting corners!) which for the price was not great.We had three different servers (one so animated I presumed she was an out of work actress) and for me the music was a little loud. In terms of fast/casual/American dining the food was standard verging on generic.Cocktail 'iced tea' was tasty though. Overall it has the current "look" but little substance.

Visited on a weekday early evening so the atmosphere was quiet but still nice as music was playing and staff were occupied... recent under new management and it was his first day but was really friendly. Food was spot on. I ordered a pulled pork burger and sweet potatoe fries ( Love Struck Eyes!!) Definitely would visit again. Weekend vibes must be awesome..

Owners genuinely interested in exploring the vast and interesting culture of smoking foods. This is the place to come to for a real taste of the south. Ribs were A1, definitely try the burger, and make sure to have a chat with the friendly and knowledgable staff. Cheers,Jacques

This lively, friendly restaurant in crouch end is AWESOME! Food is delish!!! The porky burger is just heaven! Great beers served! Service is quick and extremely friendly! Delivery food was just as great as food in the restaurant! This is definately going to be a regular local for us ! Website is also funky and great!

It's not the best, burger was a bit dry, ribs had a weird taste to them. Too much smoked paprika. Won't be ordering again. Mac n cheese is ok.

Decor & ambience very trendy. Reasonably priced. Fantastic friendly staff, with great service. Ribs were huge and tasty accompanied but an interesting assortment of home made sauces. Would definitely recommend. (Only shame was there was no gluten free burger option.)

Great place to go for American style food like ribs and burgers. Good service and easily able to knock up a cocktail that wasn't on the menu.

I've been to a few BBQ places in London and elsewhere and Porkys doesn't quite match any of them. The food was not memorable. In fact the prices were more memorable - pork croquetteS were over £5 for 3. At £14 you get a fair hunk of meat for your money for the Memphis Rib, it just doesn't hit those smoky and meaty high notes great BBQ does.If you are in Crouch End and want BBQ then crack on, I just wouldn't venture out of my way for Porkys - there are more deserving BBQ restaurants elsewhere and better non-BBQ restaurants in Crouch End.

We had a passable enough meal here, a half rack of ribs, followed by a chilli dog. I hadn't eaten that day and was in the place a while, doing some writing. The lunch ribs were the best, decent sized serve and reasonable flavour. Chilli dog was OK. My friend joined me and his Memphis ribs were big, but on the bland side. Decent glass of red wine. Service was OK on our visit, but could be hard to attract the waiters' attention and the manager seemed a bit frenzied with things, and it was not as if the place is crowded.

So we went to Porky's for a little romantic meal this Saturday night. The ambience was great, the music too although seemed a little empty for a Saturday night. We soon found out why... we didn't get served for around 15 minutes and saw a couple next to us ignored too which wasn't a great start. When we finally got our order in - Full rack of ribs, sweet potato fries, wings, chilli slaw and some pulled pork croquettes. I can't even tell you how tasteless and average EVERY dish was... the best thing about the food was the condiments that came on the table. The only thing that passed as good was the fries and there was literally about 20 of them! It was crazy. I wanted to complain but I didn't even know where to start... how do you tell a restaurant ALL of their dishes are crap?! We paid up and left safe in the knowledge we would never set foot in a Porky's restaurant again and I can tell you if you're thinking about it DON'T... JUST DON'T. There are so many good restaurants in crouch end and I don't doubt this place will last less than a year as they will never get return trade. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

Service was slow, we waited quite a while for our drinks. They blamed short staff but as it was Mother's Day they should have been better prepared. The starter came with the main. We asked for water, received the glasses but not the water. The people that ordered after us got their drinks before we did. I appreciate they are a new business but it wasnt a good first impression.

After having a great experience at one of the other Porky's branches, we were looking forward to out meal. Unfortunately the food was poor - pork crackling was bland and not "fatty" as you expect crackling to be. My chicken salad was pretty average - I have made better at home. I am not sure we will be back.

So came to visit my older brother for a good catch up. By the name I knew that pork was on the menu. Was it to a pork burger or ribs.Ribs I decided and good portion size. However I would say that the flavour was lacking. The seasoning was missing and that extra bbq taste and smokiness was not all there.Service and beer good. Watch out for the drunken floor

The restaurant was empty when we arrived but we didn't get our waitress over for about ten minutes to order drinks. When she did arrive she couldn't explain to one of our party what the difference between a pils and an IPA was. When my friend ordered the pils, the IPA was served and we were told that they had run out of the pils. We were told that this would be taken off the bill and it wasn't. The food was not brilliant. My chicken was dry and the ribs that my husband ordered where very fatty. We also ordered a jug of water which never arrived and had to ask for ice for drinks numerous times. I should point out that there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant so it was not at all busy. They asked us if the music was an ok volume which is was when we arrived and then in the middle of our meal tunred it up so loud that we couldn't hear the opposite side of the table. It is such a shame as there are a few other restaurants of this type - that do it so much better. We wont be back.

Really enjoyed the soundtrack to the evening here. Johnny Cash, Jimi and others set the mood. Expect not gourmet but indulgence. Hearty but American is what I'd say this placed brings. Friendly staff,enjoyable food, nice beers on tap too! Had a good time and would come back for more. (friend's birthday, party of 8). Thanks to Maria for her help too!

I went to Porky's with someone who needs to eat gluten free. Sat down and asked the waiter what the GF options where. They went off to speak to the kitchen and returned to tell us that the only GF item they could serve was a GF roll, all the other items on the menu contained gluten. We queried this ( surely corn, salad would be GF) but waiter was insistant the only thing my companion could have was a plain GF roll. Clearly the waiter had no idea what he was talking about, why would a restaurant stock GF rolls but have nothing to put in them. We wont be going back

Utterly disappointed, ordered and had food delivered by Deliveroo. Food was cold, bow chicken wing bones were black and chicken was hard/stale with a random white sauce on it. The whole meal was just awful, low quality rubbish which we ended up feeding to the dog.

We visited Porky's on a Sunday evening with another couple. The Virgin Mary cocktails were great. We asked the waitress what she recommended and she suggested the Memphis Meaty Ribs only for us to try and order these to be told they weren't ready and couldn't be sold. A little disappointing but Another member of staff suggested we have the baby back ribs and offered us the full rack for the price of the half which was good. We ordered the Cobb salad which was dismal, iceberg lettuce, a few fine slices of avacado, no blue cheese, a few pieces of chicken, no egg a few pieces of bacon and tomatoe and that was it. The Calamari was good and the sauce that came with it was tasty. The Louisiana catfish sandwich was a bit of a let down. It looked quite large but when biting into the fish it was mostly oily batter with shrunken fish inside. No spice so quite bland. The pulled pork sandwich was fine. We also ordered the wedge salad which should come with blue cheese sauce. It arrived to literally be a wedge of iceberg with a trickle of white sauce on it. We asked the waitress for more sauce she didn't look impressed which our request but brought back another sauce which was a different colour to what was on the salad. We said sorry we had requested the cheese sauce that came with the salad to be told the one she brought was the correct one. It clearly was a different sauce bit usually waitresses don't usually argue with customers over their requests. The best part of dinner was the chilli fries which were a large portion and yummy. I wouldn't go back to Porky's

Nearly all the pork was smoked - very smoked, which is fine if that's what you like. I had a little pulled pork (smoked, of course) on my beef burger, which was not bad, but there seemed to be a little garlic in the sauce on the burger, which I hadn't wanted. Service was good and the room was nice and warm on a cold day. A very limited menu though.

I don't expect much from British takes on American BBQ food, but this place is potentially very good. I've been 3 times now and overall it's been positive. The pulled pork burger and beer ribs are both worth shouting about. Unfortunately the service isn't. If only the staff cared enough to do the place justice. On all three occasions I've visited I've received indifferent service, from having to go to the bar myself for another drink, or stand up and again go to the bar to ask for the bill or pay. Table service should be at the table, especially if Service Charge is added to the bill. Ambiance is best in the bar area as the back feels a bit neglected. The theme doesn't quite follow through to the back so my preference would be to sit in the bar as you really feel the American theme coming through. Music is great and lightning is spot on. I will return as the food is very good and portions are more than generous. I hope the service is sorted in time as I may well become a regular.

got the £36 platter and it was very very disappointing.chicken so over cooked almost inedible and pork had way too much fat..burger really nice though

Kept waiting for our booked table for 45 minutes. Front of House manager (Simon) did a good job of looking after us, including free cocktails. Finally got to our table, and had to wait another ten minutes to order food. Was only then told that they did not have any baby back ribs, and had not had any all day. Given that this place is called Porky's, and the main event is ribs and burgers, and we had only gone for the ribs, we were not impressed. The waitress could see that we were unhappy, so she promptly disappeared! After another 10 minutes, managed to get the attention of another waitress, who did not understand what we were trying to order. Finally managed to get Simon back, who took our order, and offered us some free wine. When the food eventually arrived, it was nothing to write home about, nor had the "seasoned" fries been seasoned in any way. Had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for some time, so when was pleased when they opened in Crouch End a couple of weeks' ago. Not sure if we will return.

Unfortunately my experience at this newly opened restaurant wasn't a great one. The main issue we had was with the staff. Firstly it took a while to get served for drinks - not a great start. Then the lady who took our order struggled through it and then when a dish arrived that we hadn't ordered, she argued that we had! I mean basic waiting staff rules dictate that you don't argue back with a customer if they said they didn't order something. Ps. it was chilli fries and we had ordered anther two types of fries so not a likely mistake to make. Secondly, when we asked about deserts (yes we asked we weren't offered), we were informed there was no menu it is word of mouth.... ok so what are they?! When we were finally told and then ordered a sundae, it arrived rather messily with cream literally falling off all over the place. The chap serving us had a handful of aforementioned cream and when depositing the sundae on the table, then plopped the cream from his hand onto the top of the sundae. I mean eurgh! The food was ok in this place, not the best to be honest. But the fact that the staff seemed to have very little training, really ruined the experience for us. Shame really, as it was a unique place and could have been a favourite.

Really nice BBQ here: we tried ribs and burger and both were excellent. Service was hit and miss though, with more misses than hits. E.g.: our order was taken without making any note, and obviously came at our table wrong. We were missing one burger: now, either you have a really good memory, or use some kind of support. Waiting times were also a bit long, but to be fair the replacement for the missing burger was not charged on the final bill, which we really appreciated. Good thing is, it's easier to improve service than food: we will definitely give it another try.
