Me and my husband visited Miller and Carter last night, not the first time. It used to be our go to fancy date night spot. The vibe and the service are still great, but the food not as good as it used to be. The starters were a massive dissapointment, our favourite calamari is now soggy and sickly... As it comes to the steak though still great so if you do visit maybe just stick to mains. Desserts were never good so I guess not much changed here.

Great friendly and good service

We went here for a birthday meal and catch up with friends and left feeling cheated. Whist service was friendly enough, the steak was terrible. We only came here as it is a "Steak restaurant" but they either were using cheap cuts or could not cook it properly, possibly both. Extremely disappointed as the price should mean that it is decent meal but far from it. They should be ashamed of the quality of their food.

Lovely restaurant in a beautiful old church. Burgers were delicious and filet was cooked to order. Desserts were delicious too - we had the chocolate orange and apple pie. Service was ok but a bit cold. When we asked for ketchup for the 2 of us we only got one and had to wait ages for another. Toilets need renovation. Overall a lovely evening.

A well decorated restaurant and ambience is good even with a few customers around. Food is very good, well prepared. Service was good as well in spite of the large staircase servers have to trek of your 6 dining upstairs. Overall a good experience and can't wait to return with friends and family.

Our waitress, Isabela, was very nice and welcoming. We had the Butchers block (it contains 8 oz Ribeye, 10 oz Filet and 7 oz Rump with salad and chips as a side), it was very delicious, th only negative aspect were the sauces on the side, we didnt like them that much , the chimichurry wasn't prepared in the traditional way I know its made in southamerica. The meat was amazing. And for sure, we will come back soon.

Taro was an absolute gem and looked after us so well - especially remembering our dietary requirements and being patient when we took our time. Taro was so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

I visited this Resturant recently and there are a few things which I liked and disliked. I will start with likes. The atmosphere was nice. The steak was nice The seats were comfy The toilers were decent The cutlery was clean Oh their sticky toffee with ice cream was nice (Desert menu is missing strawberry cheesecake). My dislikes. Upon entry, some of the staff stared at us as if they saw a ghost standing at the waiting area by the front door. The lady who served our table was quite robotic. They served a slab of unappealing iceberg lettuce in a bowl as a “salad” which was odd. They should instead done a lovely fresh salad mix. Their prawns in the starter menu was absolutely tasteless. I mean Tasteless! Don’t bother ordering it. Then there was a STALE slice of potato mixed with maybe onions and possibly parsnips or something. It was far from fresh. It was obvious to me that it had to have been sitting uncovered for hours somewhere in the kitchen, waiting to be added to the steak orders. Their baby potatoes was so bland. I expected way better flavours all round. I wasn’t very impressed. For me, the food is overpriced for the tired bland flavours which leave their kitchen.

We had a great time! Isabela was a wonderful waitress and the atmosphere is amazing! Sitting in an old church just gave it a very special feeling. We also enjoyed the food and drinks and there was a great variety of options to choose from!

I always like dining in at Miller and Carter. Food is great and staffs are nice to. Ioana had been very accommodating with our needs during our stay. Great food and service.

The steakhouse is a nice place to have a dinner or lunch. Clean and tidy everywhere. The staff is so frendly and helpful especially Ioana. We definitely coming back.

First time visit, this place was recommended. It was a surprise birthday celebration for my loving, loyal hubby. The service and the food were truly amazing. The building features were stunning as this was once a church. We will return.

If I could give this review a zero, I would. We visited tonight (21st March 2024). Was served a raw steak after ordering it medium rare, and then proceeded to cop abuse from the middle aged waitress as out steak “wasn’t really that rare” and asking for a new one was a “bit of an inconvenience”. She then came back two more times to keep abusing me. I kept my cool until she came to “apologise” once our new meal came out. Her “apology” was a justification for why she spoke to us how she did followed by further telling us the steak wasn’t even that undercooked. I nearly lost it at this point and asked her to leave us alone before I kicked off. The manager didn’t even care when I complained to her but instead just watched on. I am truly angry, embarrassed and disappointed and the lack of action from the manager speaks volumes of the standards accepted here. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Food good, service awful. No Mother’s Day option offered and that’s what I paid a deposit for. Rushed to be out by 10pm, when you close at 11pm. Our table was booked for 9pm and would never have come if I knew we only had an hour.

I had an amazing lunch here. Foods was amazing, especially the steak, it’s so tender and juicy. And Miglena’s hospitality just made everything to another level. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

Ate here on Mother's day 10th March, table booked for 9, couldn’t find the place but we had directions over phone to get us there. Felt as though we were being rushed, usual menu nothing different for Mother’s Day like advertised, soon as we finished our main we were told to order desserts straight away cause kitchen was closing, dessert menu was put in front of us, we ordered, literally 3 mins later and our desserts were placed in front of us, the waiter keep loitering around our table waiting for us to finish to take our plates away, no offer of another drink or even coffee. Bill then appeared on our table and was told we are closing at 10 would we like to pay by cash or card. Since when has Miller and Carter closed at 10? Food was lovely, service was terrible, glad we don’t live close to this place! Prefer my local Miller and Carter in Cardiff.
