We keep coming to Poppy's for the freshly made, simple and tasty lunches. Always consistent, and delicious cakes too, but I have to avoid the plentiful Club sandwiches or Ploughman's if I'm intent on finishing with some Lemon Drizzle- those dishes fill me up! Book a table if you're wanting to eat during traditional lunchtimes- it gets busy! Super friendly staff and owner make our visits a treat- especially today on my birthday- free carrot cake! Thank you Penny!

Haven’t visited for years and not since the new owners (who may not be new anymore) have taken over! Food was tasty but more importantly the service was incredible, watching the staff with other tables as well as ourselves, nothing was too much trouble; offering to take a photo of a mum, friend and child celebrating child’s 1st birthday, telling us not to worry when clearing up the mess from the floor that our child had made and being very attentive with filling drinks up on the afternoon teas, are just a few examples that we saw. Very friendly and attentive, lovely tasty food!

I have visited Poppy's Tearooms several times now. The first two times, I ordered the Poppy's Savory Special for £17.00 (£14.00 without sausage or chicken). The potions were very generous, and the food tasted great. The scone could have been delivered with more jam, although there was more than enough cream. The last time I visited, I ordered the afternoon tea for £19.50, which comes with unlimited tea or coffee, which is nice. However, I would have expected more finger sandwiches for the price, as I received four small finger sandwiches. The scone was as excellent as before, but the small cakes were dry and not very moist. The service is excellent and very attentive to customers' needs. I would certainly recommend Poppys and will continue to visit, hence the 4 stars.

Half term lunch with my grandchildren. Although they were busy they fitted us in. We sat outside in shaded courtyard. Great sandwiches made to our specifications-all eaten. Then we had cake as choice was amazing. Chocolate cake Victoria and carrot cake all were fresh with large portions and tasted so good. Lovely time - thanked the new owner - just as good if not better than our previous visit. We will be back.

I have been in hospital twice this year and I wanted to treat my wife for looking after me so well. I contacted Poppy’s tea room for their take away cream teas. My husband and I went for afternoon tea and it didn't disappoint. I had one of the best high teas that I've had for a very long time. The sortment of sandwiches were delicious, the scone was lovely and warm and the cakes were bite size, but big enough not to feel hungry. The service was excellent and I love the fact that they served sparkling elderflower with the high tea and that I could have a decaffeinated coffee instead of tea. My husband went for the jacket potato, which was also really good.We will definitely go back, such a lovely treat and probably the best tea shop near us, even though we don't live in St Neots.I'm glad I was told about it as I didn't even know it was there, as it's not on the main high street but tucked away to the side.

We don't know St Neots and visited on what seemed a busy Saturday. Wanting a coffee we looked at a couple of coffee houses that looked packed before noticing this tea room down a side street. A little concerned that at the moment we arrived it was fairly quiet but we enjoyed a decent coffee and very nice tea loaf with butter. Always a delight when the experience exceeds expectations. Prices were reasonable.

We had a late lunch here after being ignored at another place in St Neots earlier. The experience here was very different. We came in to a warm room, and were greeted by an assistant with a friendly smile. We sat at a table, looked at the menu (spoilt for choice!) and within a few minutes the friendly assistant had taken our orders. We both opted for jacket potatoes, one with chicken, bacon and mayo - the other with tuna mayo. Both arrived quickly, were decent portions and so tasty. We then decided to have a slice of Victoria sponge between us. It was delicious!I think we will be returning here often! Thoroughly recommend this one.

Popped in here for lunch, What a treat!! A beautiful little place that is just like stepping back in time. You could imagine that you are still in The times of WW11 due to The decor and The old radio's and gas masks. Even The items on The menu have special wartime names. It's hard to explain but this place is a MUST to visit. The food is all home made and freshly cooked. And the staff are excellent. Tea is served in proper tea pots with knitted tea cosies in the shape of hats or soldiers.

I absolutely love this tearoom! The staff are always really lovely and I have been many times for coffee and cake and lunch but this week myself and my friend went for an Afternoon Tea.We arrived and were shown to our table, which was reserved by the window.A young man came over with a complimentary glass of Elderflower bubbly and asked us if we were ready for our tea and what drink we would like. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh. We gradually made our way onto the scones, again gorgeous! Finally the top tier were tiny little cakes,a good assortment but my personal favourite was the carrot cake. The lady asked us if we wanted more tea and was really lovely. The décor is quirky, love the Ration book menu's and all the cakestands on the windowsill. The only downside I have is that it would have been lovely to have old war music gently playing in the background,a bit of Vera Lynn would have topped it off.

A quaint little tearoom. I loved how the menu is made to look like a ration book. The room is filled with pretty china cake stands and other 1940s/1950s style objects. I decided I would try this tearoom for breakfast The menu was good. I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. The salmon was served chopped in with the scrambled egg which was not what I was expecting so I was a little disappointed. I prefer to have the salmon along side. It seems more of a treat that way. It came with two slices of toast and the coffee was good. It was quiet when we were there and the food arrived quickly once ordered, but the service (ordering food, getting another coffee, getting the bill) was slow. Quite a small cafe with a 'vintage' theme. There are a few artefacts to suggest the period including a lot of forties/fifties style mirrors on the wall and a Singer sewing machine, but it doesn't really carry it off. There are China cups and saucers and proper teapots, but the tea is still teabag tea. We had scones and tea, which was quite nice.

We ordered a pit of tea for two expecting proper leaf tea as stated on the menu but we got a large pot with 2 tea bags. It tasted very ordinary and was very weak even though we left it to brew. The tea cakes were nothing special and I barely had enough butter cubes for mine although my husband had plenty for his. Maybe due to the wartime theme when men got the best! Then we had a slice of chocolate fudge cake and one of Victoria sponge - both were perfect and the slices were massive! Lovely staff, great atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Was invited to tea one afternoon by some friends. I had walked past the place often enough but never ventured in. I opened the door was overwhelmed by the atmosphere. If it wasn't for the fact that people were dressed in modern clothes you would have thought you had stepped back in time, table cloths, lace doilies, napkins, cake stands and has been mentioned by others cups and saucers from a bygone age. Its a shame it is not larger as the tables are very close together but the food and service is excellent.

From when we stepped inside Poppy's Vintage Tea Room we felt like we popped in to see a friend for tea. Menus are in a ration book with good selection........would recommend the chicken with lemon mayo....yummy. Huge pot of tea, OLD FASHIONED CUPS AND SAUCERS to drink from....wonderful, old fashioned plates served with the most fresh sandwichs on. Lovely staff, friendly and very welcoming. You would be advised to book a table for lunch time as it is a popular place and gets busy. They also serve 'Afternoon Tea' which we were told has to be tried, that will be for next visit as we didn't have enough time. Thank you Poppy's Vintage Tea Room it brought back great memories for us.

Food was lovely and the staff very friendly, just what you want when you need a break and to relax. Been here a number of times over the years and always felt welcome.

Very disappointing roast dinner on Sunday 26th may for 3 people: it was Luke warm and the lamb was awful no decent slices it was like the end of the joint , when mentioned to the waitress she advised they were short staffed, did take off 20% which worked out £14 which I was still not happy with as didn’t eat even half but left it at that. Never again.

Just had a scam call from this landline and when I’ve googled it it comes back to this cafe. Male claiming to be from O2.

Underwhelmed: Starting with the positives, its a nice location if you are staying more than 1 night or if you arrive early you can walk to Helen's bay. The staff were the best thing about the hotel / my stay. the food was also quite nice, if you live close by, it would be a nice place to grab a meal or a drink in the dog friendly pub. The rooms or at least ours felt dated, I get the whole "country pub" style but it just looks old and dirty. No massive issue with the rest of the room in terms of design, but the rooms are not sound proof. You hear people talking next door, you hear every door in the hotel close, we heard the hoover being whacked off every skirting board. The spa is adequate for a 1 night stay. But its very disappointing that the smoking area for a wedding venue is beside the spa. While you relax in the spa if there is a wedding you can hear it so it kills the atmosphere of relaxing in the spa. The also is nothing stopping anyone walking through the spa, while no one is supposed to do it we watched a group of 8 people walk through the spa after breakfast (not challenged by any staff member either), video and stand about chatting. Because the spa isn't the largest, when they start doing day spa offers it will quickly become overcrowded. I wouldn't want to see the spa if all the rooms in the hotel were booked. I get what the Galgorm group were trying to do with this hotel, but the hotel isn't up to par. We had vouchers for our stay but if we hadn't I would have been very disappointed at the price. No one from the hotel has asked for feedback following our stay but I would not recommend this hotel for a stay / spa experience.

At last, we are delighted to have found a decent cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed the freshly prepared food. One of the best fish and chips I had for a long time. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Thank you
