What a gem of a place. Highly recommended. Food is fantastic, big portions and quick service. Cakes are homemade and delicious.

Lovely cafe with attentive and friendly staff. Food is very generous and deliciously homemade and arrives very fast which is great. Minor detail for improvement could be the floor which was very dirty and in need of renewal. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

We ate our meal at 1st sitting 12.00 we all had fish and chips it came to our table within 10 minutes no way was it cooked fresh so it was last night's warmed up

We feel very lucky to have this lovely cafe nearby; ideal to cycle to for a coffee! There’s plenty of parking so it’s perfect for meeting up with friends for a delicious lunch, too. The only negative is that the cakes are too irresistible!

Popped in for a coffee and cake with the dog. Sat outside in glorious sunshine, the cake was something else I had coffee and the other half snickers cheesecake. Both were unbelievable.

What a gem of a place, our first time in visiting, & hopefully won't be the last, we had a beautiful meal in cafe, all home cooked, piping hot, very nicely presented & tasty, reasonable priced, friendly staff, just over 3miles from Aberystwyth sea front, well worth a visit. Poppy's is one of the nicest places for food in the Aberystwyth area. The food and service is consistently great. The homemade desserts and scones are especially nice.

Lovely food served quickly by very friendly staff. It is the first time we've had Sunday lunch there and really can't fault any part of the experience. Previously we've had coffee and cake which is the reason we returned, great service. 10/10

We arranged a light lunch buffet with Poppy’s for today after my sister’s funeral. We’ve been here numerous times before and they never disappoint. Everything just perfect and great food. Anna and the rest of the staff go above and beyond and customer service is spot on. Thank you very much and we would always highly recommend whether it be breakfast, lunch or just a cup of coffee. What an absolutely fantastic experience we had today! I highly recommend. We had an afternoon tea for my mums birthday. This included a choice of which flavour cake we wanted, and what filling to our sandwiches. Yummy home made scone with local cream and jam to have on top as well. We even had unlimited tea and coffee! The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. Staff were welcoming and friendly. I look forward to returning soon.

Went for our Office Christmas lunch, and the portions were very generous. We all felt we had our moneys worth.

Nice people, big open space with excellent views. Disability access is not OK as steep narrow steps seem to be only entry point. To be fair this is highlighted in website. We only stopped for tea, but they have a good menu. Ifyou are in the area, the garden centre and this cafe/restaurant are both worth a visit.

Great restaurant inside of the main garden centre building at Newman's, Chapel Dewi. Pre booked a late Sunday lunch which was very tasty, staff welcoming and friendly with food served quickly. Nice cakes too. Update April 23 - Sunday breakfast, not busy, friendly quick service and tasty food.

Very disappointed staff said kitchen closed 3.30 we arrived then but web page said closed 4.30 we expected a meal why stop serving 1hour before closing

If you just want a quick coffee, this is the place. If you want a proper breakfast with a mate, it can only be here. Sunday lunch, often been. What if Gran wants to come here for her 96th birthday, all eleven of us, or both my grandson and granddaughter want to have their birthdays here? "Can we go to Poppy's", is the frequent refrain. Eat inside or on the garden, it's very relaxing. The staff are amazing, very hard working, very friendly and always willing to accommodate, with most Welsh speaking. A word of caution. The meals are excellent... but huge, with copious vegetables. I'm not going to mention dessert. Below you'll find an image of the humble Victoria Sponge, and what we know as the "Snicker" Cheesecake. Awesome.

Went for Sunday dinner. Very pleasant good service

We had a meal on may 31st before traveling home. Whilst the food was delicious as usual unfortunately the service was very disappointing. We were seated behind the shelving unit in the corner and the table was unlevel and wobbly, when the girl came to take our order we asked for it to be changed or made safe which she said she would ask. No one came to sort it. When our food was brought we asked again and just got a shrug. My partner had to steady it while we were eating so as not to spill our drinks, when we mentioned it to the lady when paying she did apologize but obviously wasn't bothered.

Great food. I really enjoyed panini. Never tried bree on a panini before. We were stuffed afterward, both legs and all the corners too. Couldn't eat another thing, no room left even for cake.

Other than the burger special not being available, I've never seen such a rude restaurant manager (she must be as she was ordering everyone around)in my life. So much so that it took every bone in my body to keep my composure. The impatience from her side was clearly visible and felt by my family and I as we were ordering food. I ordered a hot chocolate that comes with cream and marshmallows. Needless to say there was no marshmallows on the hot chocolate. When the waitress went to add the marshmallows the manager literally threw it on with marshmallows going everywhere on the floor. Poor waitress too didn't know what to do. Needless to say, while this manager works here, this place wont see me again and I hope others do the same.
