Fabulous foccaccia , dips and meatballs. Friendly staff. Great music.

Fire alarm sounded when they were cooking.I advised them to get the smoke detecter in the kitchen changed to a heat detector. They weren't interested(I fit Fire Alarms for a living) They then left the Fire Panel in commissioning mode and carried on with service. Quite a breach of health and safety.

Good food but poor service, staff seemed uninterested no atmosphere .

Very inviting, beautiful, spacious café with delicious food and good gluten free options. The staff were friendly and really helpful with my dietary requirements and I loved the Persian Love Cake so much I brought two slices back to Birmingham to share with my husband!

Booked afternoon tea for my wife's birthday. Lovely savouries and cakes...... Lots of tea. Very high quality and a modern twist on traditional high tea. Highly recommended and very friendly, including our caves.

Great menu choice. Portion sizes bigger than many other eateries. Excellent and attentive customer service. Pleasant atmosphere o ly overshadowed by a rather noisy group on a nearby table. It is however a university town.

The only cafe in town open at Twixmas this early in the morn. Had a Danish pastry and a cinnamon bun...and a coffee to go. Can't express in words how good the pastries were. Coffee v good too. 👍

I had the Buttermilk Chicken and Winter Slaw, which was good but not spectacular. A tad expensive for what it is, but a decent enough meal.

The food and pastries are amazing. Our favourite cheese cake in Aber. Service and atmosphere is great. The new location looks amazing.

Lovely relaxing place to have a coffee and pastry.

Currently the only really decent place to eat in the evening in the centre of Aberystwyth! The pizzas are exceptional, with an interesting toppings on the menu which change regularly. The cakes, pastries, and coffee are also excellent. Highly recommended.

Medina's is without argument, one of the best establishments in Aberystwyth. All their food taste fresh using the highest quality ingredients. Their pastries are delightful with their own noticeable twist in comparison with commercially store bought. Stepping inside feels like a home. It will remain a favourite in this quaint town.

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it's easily one of the best places in all of Aber to go. Service is excellent, the place is lively, everyone is so friendly all the time.

A truly lovely experience we brought some nice fresh food for indoors and my better half found some new vegan bits. We had a lovely meal and drinks the service was great as well. We will definitely go again 😋👍

We always have breakfast in the Medina when we come up to Aberystwyth. The food is superb, the staff wonderful, and the decor and atmosphere of the premises is inviting and relaxing. We also had an evening meal on Wednesday evening which was fabulous. Well done Medina. I wish you would open another eatery nearer to Tenby where I live!

I love croissants and have a eaten a few in my time, but the one I had in Medina's this morning was the best. Coffe was amazing too.

Tend to pop in to pick up some veg from their amazing selection of organic produce. Staff are attentive and friendly. Delicious falafels. Love their kale salad, wish that particular salad was available all year round!

Came back 12th Oct 24. I'm so disappointed from our last visit, booked and on arrival 😢 only to find out, the only choice was pizzas and tbh we struggled to cut them. The saving grace was the male staff on shift. July 2021 Loved it here. Blinkin Fantastic would highly recommend it. We were a table of 6, and everything was delicious 😋 in every way. Great staff with relaxed, easy dining style. Shame its so far away.

Total disgrace! If you only do Pizza's on a Saturday night please make sure the pizza's are eatable! Will not use this place again! Not recomendable 100%

Went in for lunch. Everything was delicious. Very large portions for a good price. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful place with a really magical atmosphere and excellent, authentic but also creative Mediterranean food. So good we went twice in a week. Cauliflower is a particularly excellent thing that I would like to be eating daily if possible. So nice to get some good falafel, too. The hummus is also noteworthy. We loved the service both times, we were made to feel really taken care of. Few places are able to make your feel like that but this one really did. Will be back as soon as we can. Great produce available in the shop too.

Behind the dour exterior lies a jewel of a place. We stopped for lunch, ordered far too much because there were so many lovely dishes on the menu and then ate it all! Whipped ricotta with honey, spiced cauliflower and courgette fries were just some of our favorite dishes. The marketplace was full of scrummy looking treats too. A super find.

Delightful Mediterranean cafe with a lovely varied menu and deli too

Updated as been twice since this and always find service staff not very interested and happily leave you alone! Food also feel a little cheated with portions being minimal for the 'deals' and range. Food though is fantastic. Shame about lack of generosity and hospitality. Authentic homemade middle eastern range. Excellent experience of top quality food. Service of staff could be more informed, proactive and helpful

We came in the evening for pizza and were not disappointed. Can recommend the Bianco and Pesca (with grilled peach) pizzas. I wish we'd shared a pizza and had a salad too, not to mention desert. Another time! Booking essential.

Exceptional Mediterranean menu.

Medina is one of my favourite lunch spots. Great quality food well prepared, lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff

Thus is our kind of restaurant, fabulously fresh food, inventive menu, chilled atmosphere and excellent service, we eat there every time we come to Aberystwyth - if it's not fully booked.

The best croissants and viennoiserie in Aberystwyth by a country mile - made fresh on-site every morning, alongside sourdough bread. The breakfast is also really good, with plenty of options. I didn’t try them but the salads looked really good at lunchtime. Great service and great food - couldn’t ask for any more

Such a lovely place! The food was so amazing and I was shocked by how reasonable the price was!

Used to love their healthy offerings but the move to pizza in the evening is a mistake. Just paid £14 for a greasy mess where one of the toppings seemed to have been forgotten.

A total joke, I don't know why people bother coming here. The staff does not care about clients, they don't serve food at the time we arrived or in general. The business owner should be ashamed for waisting the floor space, he should rename the place MediNOT. In all honesty consider selling the place.

The setting was really cool, and it had a lovely, relaxing vibe about it. Food was absolutely yummy and reasonably priced, too, with a lunchtime offer, which was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a visit. Plus, it's open a bit later, which is great.

A nice quirky restaurant where the aromas of fresh prepared food drew us in. The quirkiness expands into the menu and that is not always a good thing. Wanting to have a normal pizza Napilitana was not an option. Settling for a pizza called “stinky pig” was okay. The pizza my son had was spicy what he is not a fan of, this wan not stated on the menu. Both of us were happy to see all local beers and ciders on the list as we like to sample them. All in all better than average but not very good.

We went to Medina's at lunchtime today, and we weren't disappointed. I had the fishcakes and my husband had the sausages with the potatoes and beautiful salads. Diolch Medina

Superb brunch, amazing pastries & breads. Delicious & unusual dishes. Cannot fault it!

We went to the Medina for dinner with the family, but it was a huge mistake on our part. We ordered confit duck, but it had nothing to do with confit or duck. We got something disgusting, unnameable. The menu is a complete mess, you can't tell if it's Mediterranean, Lebanese, or Italian. Make only one type of food, but at least do it well. Very expensive for terribly bad food. It was a big disappointment and we will never return.

Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, and great Neapolitan pizzas. Don't be deceived by the exterior—step inside to see how it looks. They also have a nice shop where you can purchase various vegetables, oils, and freshly baked cakes.

The back room with its two large orangery windows is the pick of the seating but food is always excellent and coffee is delicious. Always busy for good reason and always my first destination when visiting Aber.

We walked into the restaurant and there were lots of empty tables. But we couldn’t get a seat. The reasoning from the restaurant did not make sense.

Very overpriced and the coffee is not very good at all. Service is good and the cinnamon buns are amazing but too expensive. If you have ever had coffee in the middle east you would see how it should be done, the coffee here is just bad.

Visited Medina on Thursday whilst on holiday. The young lad who took our order was really good and took particular attention with an allergy I had . Food and drinks excellent, and atmosphere really good . Would definitely recommend. Chocolate brownie one of the best I’ve had.

Coffee & Cheesecake Cheesecake was lovely & creamy Coffee was above average but there was space for improvement. Like the concept of the shop with smaller rooms & a hip atmosphere. (Very warm on the day we visited made it a little uncomfortable) 7/10 overall score

Service was a little ignorant and slow. Food tasted freshly cooked from frozen. Salad was the only thing made fresh because they haven’t found a way to freeze it. Overall not a very good experience. Could do a lot better.

Don't even think about going here if you're coeliac. Contamination nightmares, and staff who are ill informed. My friend was spoilt for choice, whereas my option was mushroom soup, with an alleged gf roll, which turned out to be a flatbread. No butter.

What an amazing hidden gem! The food was absolutely delicious! They have a lunch offer for £12.50 you choose a main, a salad and cumin potatoes or another salad. As a vegetarian I had really amazing choices. Initially when they brought my plate I was disappointed with only 2 halloumi slices, but it actually filled me in. Cumin potatoes were crunchy on the outside and fresh and soft on the inside. My aubergine salad was full of flavour and halloumi... gosh, soft and warm, just perfect! The same with beetroot salad, so yummy. I would highly recommend it! And they have their own shop filled with delicious food. Worth checking out too.

Second visit to Aberystwyth, and second time of eating at Medina. Would not consider eating anywhere else.

We are only staying in Aberystwyth for one night and were looking for somewhere to eat that wasn't fish and chips or cheap and nasty take away pizza. We found the Medina by chance and were so glad we did! Situated in a fabulous wholefood shop - with loads of amazing produce and fresh fruit and veg is the Medina. A short menu of hand thrown pizzas were on offer and they were truly yummy and very filling - along with a green salad we had a delicious dinner. They also had an extensive drinks menu for a small restaurant. Definitely worth finding! Thank you for a great meal. Jane and Bob :-) (and the WiFi was good enough to chat on WhatsApp to my daughter in Argentina!)

Good service, quite quick. Cappuccino was great and a generous size. Lunch deal offered some nice variety. Had the chicken pita which was a little small and basic but quite tasty, salads and spuds were nice and bulked it up to a decent portion size.

Only 4 for service as I couldn't find them to ask for something extra and same again later for paying the bill. Very interesting menu but you need to ask questions and not make assumptions

Good lunchtime and a very quiet and peaceful conversation with many friends. Very helpful staff.

This place has the best coffee in Aber and some of the best food. Their menu changes periodically, so they don't always have the same salads and mains. Many bakery/takeaway items seem to always be available, like croissants and baklava. I'd definitely recommend the cumin potatoes, though in my opinion they do need a bit of salt. The one area they could use some improvement is their service. It's frequently busy, and service is often a bit slow. There isn't typically a host on duty, and it can be confusing as to how seating and ordering works. If you want to pick up grocery items, bakery items, or takeaway, you can queue next to the refrigerators and order/pay at the counter. You can also order/pay at the register at the other end of the counter. To be seated, we've typically just had to approach someone to let them know we've arrived and where we're sitting, assuming a clean table is available. There are steps to enter the building, so it is not accessible to those with wheelchairs.

Very pleased with food and service. This was our first visit won't be the the last.

What a great place (found this gem after the disastrous service and walk out at Sophie’s Cafe). Great service, welcoming and happy staff and good menu. Very good selection of cakes and pastries (and a great shop selling variety of pickles,jams, wine, breads and veg). Lovely hot coffee. Well worth a visit - indeed, a must!

Great main meals and light bites and I have been going back every now and then. I started having teas and coffees, which have been a delight, but avoid the cakes because flies sit on them regularly as cakes and pastries are not covered. Very clean and pleasant environment though.

Really delicious food, nice vegan options (the cumin potatoes are AMAZING) and despite it being quite busy the service is really good, friendly and calm. Drink wise the house peach ice tea is a great and refreshing choice Lovely place - we’ll be back.

Really great !! They have a restaurant and a market. The products are qualitative. We ate there for lunch. We took menus (1 main course of your choice, 2 mixed salads of your choice) for £12.5, we ate very well. It's healthy, balanced, good. We ate a slice of one of the many cakes made on site with a good espresso. It was so good that we ordered takeout for the next meal.

Cosy atmosphere, lovely homemade treats. Coffee and hot chocolates are always perfect, best place to go for breakfast. Comfortable seating, quiet environment.

I visited yesterday with my husband, sister and brother-in-law for lunch. My sister lives locally we visited for the day from Swansea. It was the best lunch I have eaten for a very long time. I had the cumin whitebait with a choice of 2 salads (aubergine/feta and kale/butternut squash/toasted almonds/cranberries) with a glass of Merlot. The cake selection is fantastic I opted for the bananna/walnut cake with a coffee. Beautiful ambience and the staff gave excellent customer service. I cannot wait to come back. Great food as always from Medina, beetroot salad is always a winner!! Although need a return of the beetroot hummus!!

A group of ex-CLW university friends met up after forty years for a weekend in Aberystwyth and we chose Medina for our early evening meal on the Saturday. We pre-booked to eat there and had also chosen our meals ahead so we didn’t have long to wait for our food which was brought to the table all together. The display of cakes, pastries and desserts was amazing, and the Apple Cake I had was very tasty. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we easily paid for our individual meals from the one itemised bill. Thank you Medina for a relaxing time!

A very professional and clean service.

Lovely evening meal at medina. Dogs were welcome. Food and atmosphere were excellent. Good sized portions. More than we could eat. Nice bottle of red. Wide choice of pizzas. Recommend the sharing starters platters. Loved the choice of cakes and pastries. Truffle ice cream was weirdly wonderful. Will go back. We’ll done to the manager (started at 7am was still serving with a smile when we left at 10pm!)

Amazing in every respect. Delicious fresh healthy food, local vegetables and fruit for sale, excellent customer service. It's our restaurant of choice in Aberystwyth for sure!

Staff were very rude and one young girl kept looking over at us and laughing. Made me very uncomfortable that I left before I could get my drink. Service was very slow as well.

Lovely shop/market/cafe. The food was absolutely delicious, everything we had, from the salad to the dessert. The coffee was good too! I was really impressed and pleasantly surprised with how good all the food and drinks we had were.

The food and atmosphere at Medina are absolutely brilliant - delicious food for a really good price, and in such a nice place, really warm and friendly. Sadly, all this couldn’t make up for a 45 minute wait for food - all of which was clearly pre-prepared and lovingly arranged at the salad bar. It started to get particularly challenging when our hungry children noticed that nearby tables had arrived after us, but ordered and been served well before we were! Such a small thing, but a bit of organisation and urgency in your table staff and you’d be the perfect place for food / coffee / cake / ambience.

Very reasonably priced lunch menu with lots of choice. Wide range of vegetarian options, very tasty salads. Enjoyed the small but well curated selections of craft beer - always enjoy cans from Polly’s when in Wales. A couple of mix ups with the service but handled well by staff, who were very friendly and approachable.

Fantastic atmosphere and lovely food. Warn, friendly service, and nice wine range onsite. Bought a lovely bottle of Primitivo Puglia for our evening meal.

Really bad food and cold restaurant.

We had an absolutely fantastic meal at Medina, what a hidden gem. We had two beautiful & delicious meals as part of the great value lunch special. The home made mergurez sausages were amazing, so much so I bought two packs as gifts for family & friends. Staff were really friendly and chatty and the deli shop gave the canteen area a buzzing atmosphere. I'd 100% recommend.

Service was quite lacking, it took our server 10 minutes to take our order and there was the feeling of being ignored. The food was standard. After we left I had the hygiene rating pointed out to me. Hah!

Visiting Medina, whether it's just for coffee and cake or something more substantial is always a treat. A fabulous array of food and cakes combined with comfortable surroundings and friendly staff make it a real pleasure.

It's a nice place and the food is usually great, but this time two of the salads were very overseasoned (and l love salt!!). Ordered a crumble which took 20 min to arrive at the table -not good! The so-called custard served with it was horrible and contained coconut in some form. That was never mentioned when the waiter was asked if it was a traditional crumble or if it contained any different ingredients - again, not good! For me, the staff's attitude lets the place down. They are desinterested, a little cocky and behave as if working there makes them special but, really, they're just waiters/waitresses that are not very good at their job.
