What a fantastic place, the food is excellent, it is very clean, the staff are very polite and welcoming, my second visit and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.

Just stopped for a quick bite after discovering a lot of the other ‘greasy spoon’ type cafe’s in Swindon aren’t open after 2:30. The waitress was extremely polite, there’s a decent selection of different fried breakfasts, cafe style meals and drinks. We had three meals and drinks. My Hawaiian Burger was spot on, scoffed it probably too quick ha ha. Place was clean and friendly and we enjoyed our lunch, just the ticket for a quick meal. Would eat there again

A lovely fry up but my only complaint is regarding the sausages. They looked cheap and they were: -tasteless. Skin hanging off.

I often visit this cafe as it is opposite my bank and I have never had a bad meal there. It is good proportions, well cooked and any changes to the meal is well handled by the staff there. It is hot and served very quickly. It is very clean and well cared for. All that is important but best of all is the staff as each and every one is so friendly and polite and able to help you get the meal you want. The atmosphere they create is as if everyone is family. I have no problems in recommending this cafe and I think it is the best I have visited anywhere. Well worth a try. Going tomorrow. Chas

I normally work weekdays, but after a rare day off, I visited Poppins for a spot of brunch. As I am on Slimming World, I wanted something healthy and filling. I ordered a cheese and mushroom omelette with a jacket potato, with no butter. The omelette was perfectly done, and the jacket was soft, fluffy, and melted in the mouth!!! I would definitely recommend Poppins, especially having the food cooked to perfection 👌 and to a very high standard. I'll definitely visit again.

Popped in here about noon. The place was packed with customers waiting for tables. I can see why. The food is unpretentious, excellent quality, generous portions and served with a smile. Enough on the plate to feed a small family. Very clean and excellent, efficient, friendly service. The more upmarket restaurants could learn a lot from the service standards here.

Other than being one of the cleanest cafes in town, with friendly efficient staff (who always wear a smile) the food standard is ALWAYS consistent. I have lost count of the times i have dined there and never had a bad meal.

My daughter and I had lunch here. We both had fish & chips followed by ice cream. The food was tasty and well priced. The service was first class with friendly smiling staff. The premises were clean and there was a good atmosphere. I could not fault it.

Popped in for a coffee at about 10am on a Wednesday morning. Coffee was cheap but average quality. I did feel like I'd personally annoyed some of the staff as the attitude on some of them was shocking! One word answers and dirty looks. Fair enough. Won't go back.

In town with 3 hungry kids, though we'd give Poppins Cafe a go, as they had a table free and we had never been in before. Cheap kids meals which they, though their Fruit Shoopts were very much over priced. My Ham, Egg (single) and chips was OK and filled a hole, but the ham used was cheap supermarket ham, rolled up. Cafe Latte was good. So, 3 x kids meals, 1 x adult lunch and 4 drinks for £21. OK, but poor cheap meat used and nothing to write home about. Friendly helpfull staff in a clean cafe was the highlight, not the food. So a bit of a mixed bag.

Food here is delicious. Staff very polite and friendly. I had massive salad with chips partner had fish and chips. Milk shake is very moreish too.

Great little restaurant with variety of food, lovely staff and quick service. Food prepared while you wait. Nice to just rest with a cup of tea and a pudding too.

I have come in several times for a quick snack and have never been disappointed. The food is always good and so is the service. The prawn baguette was especially delicious. The only downside is that it is often rather busy but I guess that is because it is very good.

What a little gem opposite nationwide building society in regent street Swindon

Called for a light lunch, excellent choice of simple menu choices, your meal here will not break the bank either as it is excellent value. The venue is clean and nicely laid out in a more traditional style.

Had eggs, bacon, and chips cooked to perfection! Great coffee and the staff are wonderful. The place was spotless not a sticky table or a used napkin. 10/10

I was a waitress in Poppins Oxford as a teenager while I was still in school, and I used to think it was funny how the food looked like the pictures on the menu, with the way it was set out. I always thought the food looked tasty but for some reason I never sat down to eat the food, so when I saw it in Swindon I was worried it might have gone downhill to not be like I remembered it, but I wasn't disappointed. It's still good value, tasty food in comfortable surroundings

Just a simple cuppa for me and coffee for hubby he had a plate of chips so well cooked not greasy at all, the premises were spotless even the toilet .

This is one of many Poppins which have been recently decorated and visited. This restaurant conjures up an instant like as its both conventional and nicely decorated however the tables were a little small for 4 adults to eat.

Brunch and a Curry, was not expecting the standard that was provided so our expectations were well exceeded. Service was very good also. We will visit again.

Went to Poppins for lunch, sandwich and Tea was lovely. The manager was abrupt and rude, no please or thank you from him which puts you on edge. Watching him with other customers he was the same It’s a shame as ruins the establishment. Waitress was very pleasant though.

My friend and I were on a deadline to get to work 40 minutes after we arrived. We finally had our order taken after waiting 20 minutes. The food still hadn't arrived 15 minutes after ordering so there was no way on earth we could've eaten the food in time to not be late for work. I spoke to the waiter, whom I presume was the manager, and asked him to cancel my order and we'll pay for the drinks. He then got very agitated and started shouting at me saying it was my fault that we didn't say we were in a rush. For a restaurant that normally has fast service, I didn't feel it was necessary to mention this. He got very angry with me and almost refused to cancel our order. In the end he finally did, but this explosion made us late to work anyway. Very, very appalled by the customer service and how I was treated by Poppins' very own manager. Disgusting behaviour. Shan't be going there again.

Whenever I come to town I usually have lunch in here,food is largely sized,tasty and well priced,lasagne is lush! I always have a strawberry milkshake which is also lush,good quality thick shake..staff are friendly and cafe is always clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

You get what you expect from poppins. Reasonable food, cheap prices. But the waiters, a Greek looking man with glasses tied around his neck, abrupt and unlwelcoming. Made it less pleasant than it should have been...

Ordered 3 meals, my meal was advertised as COD CHIPS PEAS with tartar sauce £5:50.When it arrived I cut into the fish which looked like it had been dryed out...when sampling it ....revealed a yellowy white not moist at all...it definately wasn't tasting like cod...so after explaining to the manager it wasn't cod...he said he didn't know he sells lots of it and No ones complained..?He clearly didn't know what he had just served me...that's bad!No sniff of sorry or I'll refund you...?It really put me off the whole place..Advertising COD when it clearly wasn't...shouldn't be allowed..am I wrong?My partners ham wasn't great either...WONT BE RETURNING OR RECOMMENDING.

We called in today for a drink. Unlike many other places, my hot chocolate was delicious. My husbands coffee was "perfect" as he put it, and he is fussy!

Had a very big breakfast, all very hot and well presented, the sausages could do with being a little better (I'm a bit fussy though)hence the 4 stars and not 5 but apart from that it was a lovely breakfast. The latte was delicious, and the staff friendly and helpful. Thank you, we will be returning.

Fuss-free food from a traditional greasy-spoon menu, a refreshing alternative to all the prentitious nonsense served at some of the other eateries in Swindon.

I went into Poppins today for the second time having enjoyed a previous fry-up there a year or two ago and I can safely say that this is the second-best cafe with fry-ups in the South-West. Seeing the place almost packed just before the lunchtime period is always a good sign and I was not disappointed with the Late Breakfast that I was served. It came quickly and it was hot and fresh to taste. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars was the staff. A bit more of a smile and friendliness would not go amiss...

I visited Poppins, with my partner, who wanted to visit after hearing a great review by a friend.Whilst there, we are seated to a table, and given the menus.My partner's eyes lit up with delight seeing that burgers on the list.However, for the health conscience, you will find that there isn't a great deal of choice.After losing 7 stone in weight, I did not want a fry up, burgers, chips etc.The only thing I could really eat was an omelette.To be fair, the omelette was delicious and had a huge salad with it (filling the large plate it was served on).I would visit again, but only if I am with someone else.

Came here with my 8 year old, sister and mum. It was a Saturday and really busy. We ordered food together but it came out separately and then we ate separately. The food was good for a quick lunch. Staff looked miserable which did put me off some what.

Excellent food and service. The menu is good for breakfast and lunch with a cheeky range of sugar filled desserts!! My breakfast was just right and not greasy. It tasted good too.

We go here regularly, the food is always amazing be it breakfast or dinner menu and the service is always great as well and the place is so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor. My partner said her bacon butty today was the best ones eh ever had.

Today, I had my lunch here. I had Fish and chips with peas and everything was cooked to perfection. I also had Lemon Meringue Pie with Ice Cream which was also delicious. Although the staff were effecient in actual service, the only thing that let me down is that I didn't see any of the staff smile, especially when I smiled.

Very simple but yummy cheap food! Right in the centre of town so it's easy to get to! Only downside is they got the order wrong!

Come here a lot to meet my mum. Coffee is always hot. Normally have a bacon sandwich which has a good amount of bacon in it. The staff are friendly and the service is good.

For excellent , quick freshly cooked lunches and sandwich's. Great friendly staff. A rating of 5 shown on the door. You can also see the kitchen and nothing to hide. We do go here reasonably often in groups or the 2 of us. We will be going here again.

Me and my partner have been many many times now, the food is very good and the portion size is more than generous. If we could eat here every day for lunch we surely would! I'm really not sure why others have left bad reviews about customer service as everytime I've been in, the staff have been lovely and polite.

We arrived in Swindon early to beat the crowds, stumbled across Poppins as we walking the pedestrian area. There are plenty of places to eat in Swindon, Cafes, Pubs, Burger Vans and the obligatory store cafeteria, however, we passed Poppins first and in we went. Very clean and very well laid out with picnic bench style seating (4 chairs to a table). The menu has a lot of choice but is not overloaded. We opted for the inclusive breakfast, as after all, it was first thing on a Saturday morning. It's a table service and our server took our order, he was a pleasant guy and didn't go to mad on the up sell, just asked if we wanted anything extra. Of he went and returned with 2 piping hot drinks, in decent sized mugs, with saucers, 2 jiggers of milk and a selection of sugars / sweeteners. All the crockery was logo'd with the 'Poppins' brand which was a nice a touch. Despite the cafe being quite busy, 2 hot breakfasts arrived quite promptly (and yes, they were hot!) Toast, Beans, Mushrooms, Hash Brown, Sausage, Bacon, Egg. My wife had trouble finishing hers, they were very hearty meals and a bargain at £6.50 including the drink. The server left our receipt with the meal and went. We finished up, took our receipt to the counter and settled up. Ok, I know it's only breakfast in a street café but good service should be mentioned. Would 100% visit again.

I had an hour in which to get something to eat. Poppins was very busy but my order was taken and delivered within 15mins and gave me plenty of time to eat my meal. The foot was very good, the staff brilliant and very helpful.

Wife and I needed a place to stop and grab a bite. This place provided all we needed, and left us thinking we really should come back again. Food was good. Place was clean. Staff was friendly.

I use to visit my local poppins in Hayes Middlesex but I moved back to Dorset Found my local poppins in Swindon and I found it friendly and welcoming and never found any problems with the food Five star service and great staff

Only had time for a coffee but certainly the best skinny flat white I've had in a long time, beats Costa and Starbucks both on quality and price.

The experience I had at poppins made me wish I had unbuckled my buttons more! I had the burger and chips, nothing fancy and nothing posh but just a good old fashion burger and chips. The cafe was clean and the service friendly, I would recommend giving the cutlery a little dash with the cloth to remove the water stains, they're not dirty!

I have been this cafe a few times now, I first went thinking it was just a cafe as was hungry, but now I go all the time, food is hot and fresh and cooked perfect, the staff are lovely, it's a great place to go, Iv had the breakfast and omelet, and BLT, never needed to complain as all is 100% Thanks guys!!

We popped in for lunch. Of course, this is not fast food, but, as such, our ham, eggs, chips, peas, mushrooms & tomatoes were piping hot & vooked to perfection. A great place to eat, run by a delightful Turkish family, right in the middle of town.

This is a very good place to eat, lovely food and friendly staff who give customers very good service. Always willing to accommodate us as a family with a pushchair/baby. Toilets are always spotless clean.

We have visited Poppins (which is a group of restaurants) a few times now & always have fantastic food! This is good, honest food that is freshly cooked & I love the Inclusive Breakfast which is a great British fry up. The staff are very friendly & service is quick & efficient. We have been at lunch time when the place was full & the service remained fantastic. The menu is extensive & includes breakfast; grills; fish; steaks; omelettes; salads & filled jacket potatoes to name a few. There is also a selection of yummy puddings & a child's menu. I really can recommend this restaurant for freshly cooked food that is reasonably priced.

I do like like the Bacon rolls with a cuppa tea. All food is fine for those with UK tastes. The free WiFi works a treat and the staff are VG.

I have eaten in many Poppins they are a good chain, good food at a reasonable price.The service in Swindon however is abysmal. I visited recently and waited 20 minutes to be served- mid way through ordering the staff member went off to do something else and did not return.I left at this stage- absolutely awful Customer service.

In town and see this cafe so popped in for some food first site very clean and tidy inside sat down and ordered food did take a little time to come that was my only complaint food was average would go back again just hope the food don't take as long to arrive

I have been coming into Poppins since it opened and i have never had a bad word to say about the food, hygene or the staff! I am always extremley satisfied with this wonderful, enjoyable and friendly place and if i miss one single day of coming in they always ask if i am ok! They are very lovely people and run a very clean and wonderful restaurant! I would be lost without Poppins!

This place is lovely first time going in the staff polite the food was nice and hot and worth the wait. Had a latte it was nice and hot Best Coffee in Swindon will definitely come back and recommend to friends.

the staff that work here are very ignorant, ignore you when you need something, i ordered food after my friend, my friend received her food mine and my sons only came after 20 mins of my friend eating hers, when i spoke to the manager of the place he took the order and forgot to give it to the chef, secondly i ordered my toasted bap and what came along was toasted cheese sandwich which i did not order, he did hear me, but they like to admit they were in the right, when i finally wanted to pay, i could of refused, but asked if i can have a discount on my childs meal, which they refused and also they said was sorry for the mistake, i said that is not very good customer service at all, but instead of saying ok, we were in the wrong, all they kept repeating was sorry for the mistake, and not being funny but as they are turkish, they are very rude, and try and ignore you except for when you have to pay for the food, i won't be going in there again and i advise anyone else not to either, as i have purchased a coffee in there and they used old burnt ground coffee beans, which must of been burnt as it was very bitter, its a joke, i don't know why people go there.

Went here with my wife Rachel. We the restaurant was very full and the manager managed to find us a seat. It is very clean and carries 5 stars. The meal was not too long coming considering how many people was in there. Meal was very nice. It was hot and properly cooked. Will go there again, well worth the visit

I hadn't tried Poppins for ages after it opened because i was worried it was just another pokey caff that dont take card, but after a friend made me meet her there I was surprised by how big and open it was - almost like an american diner with booths. They also take card over a fiver which you might struggle to make up because the food is such amazing value!

Stopped here with my Dad when we were in town recently, very nice day so we sat outside, waitress was very pleasant and service was good, would return

I am still shocked at the response I received in this restaurant today after politely asking if I could use their toilet, pointing out that I'm almost 39 weeks pregnant and absolutely desperate. They flatly refused, stating that the toilet is for customers only (of which I counted three outside). There wasn't even the comment of ok so long as you buy a drink afterwards, just point blank refusal and a complete lack of empathy. I appreciate it must get frustrating for them if people keep trying to use their loos but I think they need to have a bit of flexibility to their policy depending on the situation. The attitude of the Manager/owner was disgraceful. Such poor recognition of potential repeat business, good customer service and any human decency. Based on this experience of how they treat people, I certainly won't be returning to spend any money in there; they are lucky I didn't spend a penny on their floor!

Excellent food, warm friendly service from staff they never rush you. Always happy to help with wheelchair users and pushchairs and children. Good really nice and prices reasonable!!! Good portion sizes too!!

Had breakfast here and had the place virtually to myself. Friendly staff and food OK - had full english and the sausages were a bit strange-looking but all tasted fine.

Visited today, this place is a refreshing change for Swindon. Nice to have something other than the usual chain café's etc. The place was clean, very efficient service, very helpful and a great choice on the menu. I had an egg salad which I couldn't finish, it was so big. There is a kid's menu too all at a very reasonable price. Would definitely visit again.
