Poppies in Carmarthenshire

I have wanted to visit this little cafe for some times as the food pictures looked great. My partner and I visited and he had a toasted brie, cranberry and bacon sandwich and I had a tuna mayo toasted sandwich; both came with a side salad. For 2 toasted sandwiches and 1 cup of black coffee the cost was over £11.00. I feel that is too much for these types of lunch time foods. Yes the food was nice, but not at that cost. I will be going elsewhere for the same price or less. The cakes looked nice and the area was clean.

average cakes, even though they look nice, very pricey fro 2 slices a tea and a coffee. Just an average joes cafe so the prices did not warrant the place.

Ayer fuimos a la hora del almuerzo después de amapolas que había visto en facebook. Hay un montón de aparcamiento gratuito exterior y pronto descubrimos la tienda de café. Había una gran variedad de comida en el menú, pero no es especialmente barato en £6. 30 para una chaqueta de patata con atún. Pedimos 3 patatas chaqueta y después de esperar bastante más de 20 minutos tuvimos nuestra comida. Fue bien presentado y preciosa y caliente mi único comentario sería que las placas más grandes podría ser una idea o menos lechuga tan pronto como toqué algo cayó sobre la mesa. Las niñas eran muy educados y buena atención al cliente.

Precioso lugar para comer, sándwiches recién hechos, con una variedad de pan integral o blanco, generosamente lleno de bloomer col o aceitunas caseras en el lado y una gran ensalada. Gran variedad de sopas también, de nuevo una porción muy generosa. Buena selección de té, café y pasteles. Todos los alimentos recién preparados a pedido. El personal es excelente, amable, eficiente y servicial.

A mi esposa y a mí nos encanta tomar un aperitivo aquí cada vez que pase. La comida se sirve siempre fresco y con un gran servicio. Me encantan las sopas y baguette. Su siempre bienvenido y más comer aquí la tienen que saber que es lo que nos gusta comer. Puede que no sea el Ritz, pero las raciones y la presentación de la comida. Pone en evidencia muchos de los restaurantes. El lugar siempre está limpio y acogedor.

Called for a quick coffee on a wet Thursday, really pleasantly surprised at quality of coffee and range of tasty food and cakes. But what really impressed was staff who were friendly and welcoming, such a breath big fresh air in the current t culture of cold chains and franchises. We'll done all at Poppies!

Poppies is a great place for a tasty, well prepared and presented meal. Great service and always welcoming. Well worth a visit.

nice breakfast , pleasant staff , easy location on high street Gorseinon , inside the market . if you fancy a coffee or a fry up , even a toastie , reasonably priced . I reccommend this cafe to anyone . it is clean , lovely home cooked breakfast , and even an all you can eat big fry up and if you eat it all you can win a t shirt and your name on the board ,

This is a lovely little cafe within a great garden centre. All the food is homemade with homemade portions! Complimentary welshcakes and bottles of ice cold water make all the difference to a cafe, small but simple gestures. We had sandwiches which came with a generous side salad and crisps. All delicious!

Poppies Cafe is situated in the Fforest Mill Garden Centre, I had not visited before but what a pleasant surprise I had. I ordered a sandwich which was served on the freshest bread I have ever tasted (you could also choose a baguette or bloomer) which was served with a lovely side salad and home made coleslaw. The sandwich was delicious and very filling. The ladies serving were very friendly and helpful. The menu also offered breakfast, jacket potatoes and children's meals all reasonably priced. There were also very tempting cakes on display but I was too full after my sandwich to try one. Next time I'll try a cuppa and a cake instead, I did also notice a sign for an afternoon cream tea..... What a hidden gem Poppies is.

I'm pleased to see this cafe is now open for reviews. We visited with a Groupon voucher some months ago on a cold and wet Welsh afternoon, but left having enjoyed some tasty well-filled toasted Italian-style rolls (panninis?) and cakes with big pot of tea. The service was friendly and quick. The waitrose even brought a fan heater over to our table for extra warmth, which was much appreciated. Good value even without a Groupon. Its also not far from the motorway exit.
