Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Cardiff

This place is brilliant! The staff were lovely, I noticed one lady in particular being really chatty and helpful with customers, she also kindly help me bin my rubbish. The food is excellent quality, crispy and juicy chicken. The portions are really good value for money in my opinion. Everything was piping hot, even the chips. Everything had a great flavour, tasted fresh and no old oil flavour 🥳 I loved the music, however it was very loud in my opinion. I would highly recommend a visit and I will be back!

We were served raw chicken wings at popeyes when we've took food back to complain the management told us it was the factory marinade that made the chicken look raw and refused us a refund. I know what raw chicken looks like as I was a chef for over 30 years. Will never go back to this joke of a place.

Terrible service and terrible value for money, unless you buy the kids meal. As you can see from the photo, there is no point paying extra for a large portion of chips as it is the same size as the small portion you get in a kids meal. I also paid £1 extra for Cajun spice but couldn't taste the difference between mine and my son's which were mild classic. Service is appalling. Don't know why the franchise owner leaves teenagers unmanaged and unsupervised to run what is a flagship store in the UK. Adult meal cost me £10 for only one extra piece of chicken than you get in the kids meal for £2.49. If I was to return, I'd just buy 4 kids meals instead of 1 adult meal as it way better value, but I won't be going back as the service was so bad.

Came in and was very busy and so a staff member called Poulomi gave us other options for ordering to minimise wait times and made sure we enjoyed our meals.

I was having my lunch with my friend here and i have to say that my experience was superb. Staff such as jane accommodated me and my friend nicely into the restaurant and brought our food quickly. Music was also a nice touch

a young child was screaming at crying in the restaurant very off putting it annoyed me while eating. The staff was ok but one of them looked at me very strangely and i felt uncomfortable being there she was member of staff when i asked for milk and sugar it was the look she gave me like well tough i found the place untidy and unclean tables not cleared food and drink on the floor and tables expensive as well two chicken burgers no salad chips and two drinks over £16 for two people could have gone to kfc and that would have been cleaner place there was food on the table left slipt drinks coffee and floor had drink and food on them it did look untidy messy and hardly any staff about. They understood little and no english as well when i was served. The only thing i liked was the chicken burger but very little sauce on them and no lettuce even though i asked for salad and mayo with the chicken burger items missing. The chicken was lovely reaĺly nicely cooked but everything else not so good. It was the state of some tables and seats and the floor really did need a good clean as well and mop no staff intervened about that kid screaming its head of my partner and i came here on 31st oct quite poor cleaniness

I'm sorry I can't give stars but minus. From a sanitary point of view, I was shocked. Not one of the boys who had a beard has any protection so that hair does not accidentally fall into the food. No one had any head protection. This is the first rule in the kitchen, but... It doesn't exist at Popeyes😭

Amazing place to dine in with friends talking about Cardiff lore. Shout out to Jane who took time to be friendly with us and made us feel welcome. Great food I recommend spicy tenders 10/10 would reccomend

Best chicken burger I’ve had in a while! Coating is light, crispy and tasty. Cooked to perfection, juicy chicken breast. Paula and Nat were great.

First visit...... ordered the 2 piece Louisiana chicken to eat in. Wasn't clear whether we collect from the counter or if its brought over. So when I saw it was ready on the screen, I went over. I don't know who the older lady was (no name badge) behind the counter but I asked if that was my order (showed the receipt), to which she snapped no. It was what we had ordered. So I waited 5 mins and was going to ask another server. But she gave me such a glare and started to make her way, with the tray, to deliver it to a table. My table!!!!!! I enjoyed the one piece of chicken - very tasty. However, the drumstick was pink inside. After the servers attitude - I couldn't be bothered to complain. Bit I won't be going again. Not a good first visit 😕

The food and service was really good. Jane introduced us to some offers and offered any assistance we needed. Will definitely add it to one of the go to fast food places.

Went in after cinema last night. First time customers. Waited 35 mins for order and they very clearly fotgotten it. Food was luke warm only the burger was hot ish. This food was bland and the nicest thing was the mayonaisse which cost 79p. Two simple meals cost over £24. It was not busy with more staff than guests. We had to rush our meal as they said they were closing. Second time staff approached us and said wed have to leave and second time we explained wed waited 35 mins for our food. He seemed shocked. He went to tell another member of staff but no apology was offered. There were no drinking straws so we had to gulp our drinks. One group lads infront of us had a lad who didnt get his food until they were throwing us out and they all waited for each other so they had to eat their food off the bonnett of their car in the freezing cold. He said it was his first and last time also. Was going to take my son a takeout but it closed 2220hrs so we went round to KfC where he had some free chicken because they were out of what he had to settle for as popeyes closed. The staff didnt seem to know what they were doing and there was one person cooking. The place was cold and had no character. Very disappointed and wont be going back.

Burger was exquisite compared to KFC got some wings but them were raw pink all the way through. Jane was a delight. Ice cream were better than MC Donalds Very clean

Knocks spots off kfc gives fast food like from years ago and tasty

Great food and great friendly Welsh service. Been wanting to try Popeyes for ages (Did you know the resturant is actually named after Gene Hackman's character from the French Connection) kept hearing for years that Popeyes is better than KFC and gotta say they wernt lying. Actual flavour and spicy options (real spice, not like KFC's wussy Zinger) plus shakes. Would 100% recommend and hope more open around the UK

The quality of the food at this particular Popeyes location was subpar. The chicken was greasy and lacked flavor, the chips were stale, and the mac and cheese was mediocre at best. In comparison, KFC offers a superior product at a more affordable price point. While the service was prompt, the overall experience was disappointing and I would not recommend this Popeyes location to others.
