I'm sorry I can't give stars but minus. From a sanitary point of view, I was shocked. Not one of the boys who had a beard has any protection so that hair does not accidentally fall into the food. No one had any head protection. This is the first rule in the kitchen, but... It doesn't exist at Popeyes😭

Amazing place to dine in with friends talking about Cardiff lore. Shout out to Jane who took time to be friendly with us and made us feel welcome. Great food I recommend spicy tenders 10/10 would reccomend

First visit...... ordered the 2 piece Louisiana chicken to eat in. Wasn't clear whether we collect from the counter or if its brought over. So when I saw it was ready on the screen, I went over. I don't know who the older lady was (no name badge) behind the counter but I asked if that was my order (showed the receipt), to which she snapped no. It was what we had ordered. So I waited 5 mins and was going to ask another server. But she gave me such a glare and started to make her way, with the tray, to deliver it to a table. My table!!!!!! I enjoyed the one piece of chicken - very tasty. However, the drumstick was pink inside. After the servers attitude - I couldn't be bothered to complain. Bit I won't be going again. Not a good first visit 😕

The food and service was really good. Jane introduced us to some offers and offered any assistance we needed. Will definitely add it to one of the go to fast food places.

Went in after cinema last night. First time customers. Waited 35 mins for order and they very clearly fotgotten it. Food was luke warm only the burger was hot ish. This food was bland and the nicest thing was the mayonaisse which cost 79p. Two simple meals cost over £24. It was not busy with more staff than guests. We had to rush our meal as they said they were closing. Second time staff approached us and said wed have to leave and second time we explained wed waited 35 mins for our food. He seemed shocked. He went to tell another member of staff but no apology was offered. There were no drinking straws so we had to gulp our drinks. One group lads infront of us had a lad who didnt get his food until they were throwing us out and they all waited for each other so they had to eat their food off the bonnett of their car in the freezing cold. He said it was his first and last time also. Was going to take my son a takeout but it closed 2220hrs so we went round to KfC where he had some free chicken because they were out of what he had to settle for as popeyes closed. The staff didnt seem to know what they were doing and there was one person cooking. The place was cold and had no character. Very disappointed and wont be going back.

Burger was exquisite compared to KFC got some wings but them were raw pink all the way through. Jane was a delight. Ice cream were better than MC Donalds Very clean

Knocks spots off kfc gives fast food like from years ago and tasty

Great food and great friendly Welsh service. Been wanting to try Popeyes for ages (Did you know the resturant is actually named after Gene Hackman's character from the French Connection) kept hearing for years that Popeyes is better than KFC and gotta say they wernt lying. Actual flavour and spicy options (real spice, not like KFC's wussy Zinger) plus shakes. Would 100% recommend and hope more open around the UK

The quality of the food at this particular Popeyes location was subpar. The chicken was greasy and lacked flavor, the chips were stale, and the mac and cheese was mediocre at best. In comparison, KFC offers a superior product at a more affordable price point. While the service was prompt, the overall experience was disappointing and I would not recommend this Popeyes location to others.

One of the worst (if not the worst) fast food which I ever had. I couldn't order my meal by the self-service (tried 3 times - each time the same "sorry, something went wrong"). Staff didn't know what happened and asked me to order at the front desk. The whole meal was pretty big but I left most of that because it wasn't even tasty. Fries were full of herbs but not that flavour as expected. Not that much taste of fries really. The classic burger was the most tasteless burger which I ever had in my entire life. No taste of chicken, super greezy, sauce (mayo?) was tasteless. At the top of that cheese didn't melt at all. 2 tenders were exactly same as in my burger and were just OK but once again: tasteless. All tables were dirty, soda dispensers were also really dirty (and everywhere was split litres of soda) and I didn't get napkins for pretty greesy meal. Staff wasn't that friendly either because when I reported a problem with self-service machine, he was really annoyed by it and when I was ordering my meal, he was frustrated he needs to do this for me. I don't ever remember that bad experience with any other fast food.

Portions and quality are so much better than other well known fried chicken fast food chain

I like Popeyes, Their chicken wings are delicious. And Etham is very nice. Since I had already eaten, I couldn’t take a photo, but trust me, it is good.

The quality of Fantastic chicken is exceptionally superior to KFC. The children's menu is very reasonably priced, which is commendable. However, the Cardiff Central restaurant is rather small and experiences significant crowding during weekends. Consequently, customers should anticipate a waiting period.

I only went as I had heard good things and wanted to try it out. It wasn't for me. I had the chicken tenders with spicy mayo. It just tasted greasy, so I wouldn't go again. Service was really slow, and it wasn't overly busy.
