Popcorn Bar Chester in Cheshire West and Chester

TJ was so rude and disrespectful ,we had just arrived and started insulting for no reason. She told us her night would be better if we weren’t here despite us not saying anything

I hate to write this review but, I must say this was a very poor experience. On entry the doorman seemed extremely unfriendly, I get he’s trying to do a job but his demeanour was bizarre. Inside it was somewhat busy, but didn’t seem anything crazy, and considering after 20mins we still couldn’t place an order, we decided to leave. Not a great experience.

Attempted entry at 515. Numerous tables empty in the front seating area. Vile door staff told me "we aren't letting anyone in we are at capacity". Quite shocked as the venue didn't look busy. Returned 10 mins later and friend was allowed in with no issues. Inside venue was nowhere near fulland rear seating area equally deserted. Absolutely bizarre that a hospitality venue are turning away customers because they don't like their "look". Was dressed in jeans like many other costumers and a hoodie. Joke

The bartenders would rather just stand there and chat than serve. 4 people on the bar no customers apart from me and I’m still standing there for a good 2 minutes for one to come over to me. The guy with glasses looked at me like I shot his family for asking for a lime in a corona

I will NEVER be going here again. Staff AND Management are extremely rude. Need more people skills if you’re working in that industry!! Don’t recommend at all, very expensive too, atmosphere was also awful on a Saturday night.

Came here with friends and we just all thought it was too expensive for what it was. The service was a little slow but I understand on Saturday that it’s the same everywhere. However the drinks we had were on the expensive side. We had cocktails and in most places they are a couple of pounds cheaper and are better quality. Would recommend going to Watergate Street with Liquor, Bar Lounge, Kahiki, Palm and Craft to name a few! Cocktails are slightly cheaper and the quality from what we have witnessed is a lot better.

Good place for night out. Spent Christmas day there. Good fun and good music. Nice atmosphere. Very busy place . Friendly staff.

Great atmosphere and great music with potential for a fantastic night out . We didn't stay long , but 1st impressions 10/10 . Candle lit and cosy .unfortunately we couldn't stay long ,but would certainly return .

I organised a private karaoke room ‘the gold room at popcorn never been here before but after a trip to Chester the one time I noticed people queuing to get in which to me that means there’s got to be something great! Last night it was my sister in laws hen party popcorn is such a great bar/lively music gorgeous decor and just a great atmosphere however in our private room we was absolutely over the moon with the bar service by JOEY he was absolutely fantastic made us all feel so welcome nothing was too much trouble and he really new how to read the room and get everyone on the karaoke 100% will be recommending this to friends and family and it certainly deserves a spot on here thank you again for a fantastic evening!!

This establishment is so good. The staff are amazing. My waitress who served me drinks when I was there was so attentive and friendly. Her name was Robyn, she is a credit to the company.

Lovely staff who serve you promptly, great atmosphere and interior décor, and reasonably priced drinks. Overall a great bar for a casual day drink or night out!

My first time in Popcorn and I have to shout out to Beau. In many bars and restaurants the struggle to get access to a disabled toilet has been real. As soon as I asked her for access she was friendly and understanding and showed me directly to it and provided me with a key. Not all disabilities are visible and this woman showed me nothing but compassion and friendliness. Really made my night. Give her a bonus or something. Made me feel so comfortable.

We came to Popcorn for a cocktail masterclass for my hen party, and it exceeded all expectations! We had Doug hosting our masterclass and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better, he made our night so much fun and had a great sense of humour! Would highly recommend Popcorn, there was 18 of us and everyone loved it - the cocktails we made were delicious too!

This happened a little while ago but I am quite surprised that the concerned bouncer is still working there. Went on a date their, two bouncers refused me in because of my French ID card. One of them (the one with short grey hair) said it " doesn't explain my ethnicity''. Never felt more humiliated I still think about it months after. Met one of the managers two days after the incident. He said that he had fired the youngest one yet insisted on the fact that the second one "never had any bad experiences like that before". At the end of his pathetic attend to apologizefor the bouncers racist behavior, the manager told me to come back but to call the bar first in order to" let them know that I am coming and to avoid a similar situation". Anyway, don't go there if you still have faith in humanity?

Christmas decorations looked great, but make sure you bring a lot of cash when coming here 7 pounds for a bottle of kopparberg crazy.

Came in for a work celebration night! Got served multiple times by Lana (unsure of spelling), she was extremely friendly and welcoming to us! Great chill vibes and great night!!

Visited this place on Halloween to find my night being ruined by a grey hairs bouncer who was very aggressive towards me. Told me I had to leave and started grabbing me, I politely asked him to not touch me or grab me so I could remove myself, this man continued to touch me and made me feel so small and belittled. It’s such a same because the staff in popcorn are so lovely and the atmosphere is great but this bouncer in particular thinks he’s all that and ruins peoples nights. I can see there has been multiple reviews on this same bouncer but nothing is being done about it, I get people need to do there job but it doesn’t give him the right to treat people with disrespect for absolutely no reason whatsoever. So disappointed to see other people have complained about this bouncer yet he’s still getting away with being the way he is. Can provide a picture of him just thought I’d be respectful enough to not expose him on here. Would just like to add that the staff are doing a great job and I appreciated what they do. Some really lovely people out there! Great drinks and great atmosphere.

I don't write many reviews after a night out.. However for the door staff at Popcorn I'll make an exception.. I don't think I've ever felt as safe as I do in Popcorn .. From the greet to them letting you in they also ask if you're OK .. I know!! It never happens in Chester the only thing I hear is 'have you got a booking!! Just to let you know thank you and we appreciate you 🙌

I recently visited Chester and Popcorn, lovely bar and good staff. I came in for drinks with my friends and the server on the floor (Bethan) was so so polite and helpful, she even recommended some lovely cocktails to ask for. Thank you and I will be back☺️
