Popchop Curry House in Salford

If you’re going to Manchester, you have to visit Popchop Curry House! They open at 5pm, but we only managed to get the last two plates of pork chop rice when we arrived at 7pm – everything sells out if you’re late, so intense! They mentioned you can call ahead to place an order if needed. The pork chops are pan-fried to a crispy perfection, and the curry is aromatic with a good spice kick. Tastes amazing! The quality is still as high as ever, with that classic Hong Kong curry flavor. Since we had kids with us who couldn’t handle the spicy curry, they kindly provided an extra bowl of curry sauce on the side. We also ordered a plate of scallion oil chicken with fried egg rice, and the chicken was just as delicious!

Pork chop curry is so so good. Will be back for sure.

The signature curry pork chop is unbeatable, especially when paired with a refreshing iced lemon tea. The staff are polite and provide excellent service, but space is limited, so it's best to reserve a table in advance.

I recently tried their signature curry and the sweetcorn sauce with chicken. The signature curry was flavorful but a bit oily. The sweetcorn sauce with chicken was spot on. The prices were reasonable, but finding parking was a hassle. There are double yellow lines right outside, so I had to drive around to find a spot nearby. Despite that the meal was enjoyable overall.

Nice curry at all time. Better reserving for dine in. I'm definitely going back again and again and again..

The food here is mouthwatering good! It’s been a few weeks since I visited here but my mind keeps wandering to the pork chops… both curry and scallion oil pork chops were great. Will definitely visit again :) bear in mind that seating area and parking is limited

Sometimes it's tempting not to give a good review because you want to be selfish. One of the reason being this is such a small little place and if it gets too popular how am I ever going to get a seat the next time I come? But I don't live that close so let's hope they get even more popular and open a shop near me because their Pork Chop Curry is off the chart delicious!

The famous 新景園豬扒in the uk. Visited so many times, their pork chops are just so nice and the curry is very unique. Recommend order the large portion cause regular is half pork less. You can also call them to book a table. 檸檬茶can be better though, tea flavour not strong enough and should add less sugar!

Got takeaway from here. Ordered the large pork katsu curry, KBBQ wings and salt n pepper chips. All were delicious and very filling. Good value for money, would recommend!

A small shop, with a small menu, but the important thing is they excel at what they're offering - the renowned deep fried pork chop with curry sauce. Went double down on the pork chop for an extra £2, it was well worth it. Pork chop was well tender under the crispy breaded batter, and the portion was very generous. Also took a sample of the deep fried chicken fillet on sweet corn sauce as the little ones aren't able to handle spice, and that was also very palatable. Deboned chicken thigh under a crispy breaded batter. A pity that the bubble waffle was not on the night we visited, would've ordered one as well if they did.

Going to Manchester from London is a left-over meal. I’m so happy that I can eat the same pork chop as Wan Chai Sunview Garden in the UK. It’s delicious! But the curry could be spicier, but it’s still 100 points! The boss is very nice 👍

很可惜在灣仔本店沒有機會試過，估唔到喺曼城試到招牌大豬扒飯。因為人多，冇喺度堂食，唯有外賣，即刻喺車度食。食完之後，覺得香港嗰陣味返咗嚟。

One of my most satisfying meals in UK since 1.5 years! Curry pork chop definitely resembles my HK memories. Very generous portion and value for money. As much as I miss their stir fry beef flat noodle, appreciate their thought of not willing to trade off the quality and thus wasn’t offered on the menu.

Marvelous Hong Kong cuisine. One bite and you will love it. Perfect Popchop and curry. We have to queue more than 45mins in HK even can eat in. It’s excellent that can enjoy without waiting so long. Nom nom nom is the only thing I can say. They cook yummy chicken as well.

Today was my second visit to Pork Chop Curry House, and the food was just as tasty as ever. The pork chop was still wonderfully tender and crispy, and the curry had an amazing aroma. No wonder there was a queue for a table today. It’s definitely worth trying.

Popchop's signature pork with Hong Kong style curry sauce is highly recommend, the portion is big enough with loads of delicious crispy pork. As I bought them for dinner but I cannot wait until I get back home, hence I decided to stop at Knutsford service station on M6 to enjoy the food during the journey back to home.

Been a couple of times. Friendly service, very tasty food that was packaged well for takeaway and still piping hot when I hot home after a ten minute drive. Small group of people sitting and eating at the table in the window both times I went, which added to the atmosphere while waiting to collect, but this is essentially a takeaway. Wish I'd taken photos as it looked great too! Just be prepared for a SHORT walk as the business is located on a busy junction, so there is no parking.

I recently visited a restaurant and tried their curry sauce fried pork chop, which was absolutely delicious. The standout feature of this dish is the curry sauce - it's rich and flavorful without being overly spicy, and perfectly complements the savory sweetness of the pork. The pork chop itself was also cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the curry sauce. To top it all off, the dish was served with fragrant rice that was the perfect accompaniment. Overall, this curry sauce fried pork chop is a standout dish that's definitely worth trying.

This is my third visit and I am disappointed with the customer service that I have received. I acknowledge that you’re short of staff, yet the lady at the counter is very rude. She did not let us know our order number and she expect us where to look for our order number on the receipt, yet there is no clue! We live half an hour away from this takeaway place and we realised they have only given us 1 curry sauce when we have ordered two signature curry dish and a Singapore vermicelli. Really disappointed on our third visit! Don’t think I will come back again as their customer service is very poor. This is UK not HongKong!

High standard HK dishes w a great menu variety. Look forward to more drinks choices. The food would be ideal to pair with local frizzy drinks too It could definitely upgrade from a takeaway shop to a proper restaurant in no time. Look forward to our next visit.

Read lots of a good things and it didn't disappoint! Called up to order for pick up and it was ready fairly quickly. Ordered the signature curry with chicken, salt & pepper pork with rice, and salt & pepper wings which were all delicious. The shop is quite small with a few seats, so better to order for takeaway than expect to sit in. Lots of other options on the menu which I'll be excited to try in future. Also, it's cash or bank transfer only. They have a QR code which you can scan to pay when you're there which is easy to use.

I had the Singapore vermicelli. It was very delicious. I watched the chef prepare my order. It was like watching an artist.. every attention to detail. I’m going back tomorrow to try more more more. Highly recommended . I’ve just returned today and tried the signature pork with rice and curry. It is absolutely out of this world. The curry involves potatoes, which to me means it is an old fashioned stapled food that was an everyday product for the dinner table. The most humbling food . . Totally delicious. Full of unique flavours, and probably full of the historical recipes of Hong Kong.

Incredibly good. Very large portions which is great, would recommend large signature curry meal to share between 2 with some sides as you get double the meat. The curry is fantastic and great quality ingredients & meat. Will 100% be returning! Spent £39 for 4 people and had a feast. Excellent, friendly service. Thank you!

One of the best deep fried Porkchop in HKG and now open a small branch In Manchester Liverpool UK. Most people order take away. We drove almost two hours back to Nottingham and the juicy meat still there. This also bring back the memories for new immigrants from HKG.

I’ve never ate better food . Quality goes with long waiting times since local is busy so keep in mind you will wait 30-40 minutes .

Crispy pork curry is the signature. We ordered this take away food for my friend’s birthday party. Sirloin curry, stir-fried bone, chilli chicken pot… are all super nice with local Hong Kong style!

Lovely friendly staff, great tasty food the curry sauce is served separately from the dish I have which is crispy pork and boiled rice. They don't have all the main dishes on they have the 1 above plus 2 main dishes as specials, they also have sides and bubble waffles made to order which are gorgeous plain or there is 3 different toppings also available are soft drinks and once the dishes of the day have gone they close.

a small shop loaded with authentic street food style delicacies. everything is packed with flavour and generously portioned, we got our pork chop curries in large and we were filled to the brim! The specials of the day could not be underestimated too, it was only our first visit and we were blown away by how good the food was! The shop itself is not very big and could only accommodate a dine in for four (understandably as it was intended as a takeout shop) but the interior had simplistic deco and felt neat and clean. Very much worth a visit for anyone who wants to try out Asian street food cuisines and we can’t wait to return again.

The food here are good, however the waiting time is ridiculously long, I was informed to wait for 15mins to take the meal, but the actual waiting time was 75mins, and the shop only accept cash (maybe taxation problem)

Was here last Saturday after football. Place was packed with United fans who don’t live in Manchester (no surprises there) and just like us, they were here to sample the much revered Hong Kong style curry pork chops and we were not disappointed! It tastes just like home and we’ll sure be back to try other dishes on the menu!

I really wanted to give this takeaway more than one star as the menu looks really good, however after visiting this place on several occasions we were told there was only bubble waffles available or no food available at all. Come on Popchop you can do better than this!

Curry sauces are mayflower curry sauces that you can buy from home bargains, noodles were greasy, pad Thai ok, went to order chicken wings got informed they were sold out then another customer walks in and orders chicken wings and got served them, overall wouldn’t again.
