Pop-In Chicken in Plymouth

I've ordered several times and it's now my favourite for southern fried chicken.

Ordered from pop In chicken after a hard day's work, was washing my daughters hair after her bath only to have missed a call from the resteraunt. When I checked the voicemail it was for the 2 ice cream tubs I had ordered they didn't have the correct flavours and were going to offer me another alternative but cause I didn't answer they couldn't tell me. Only they didn't realise they were on voicemail record and said some pretty horrible things which I have on voicemail saved. Ain't my problem you can't keep stock of things on just eat. Won't be ordering from them again disgusting service if there is a way I can report the stuff said I will.

Soggy food and wrong items. Won't be ordering again.

Was a little late but all fine. Friday nights can be troublesome for traffic across the city. Meal was lovely though.

After a new owner this takeaway is now more expensive than a KFC, this supposed to be a cheaper alternative to Kfc but now the prices are ridiculous , Greedy new owner , I was regurarly buying from them but not anymore.

My expectation was of a cheap thrown together fly by night establishment. I was happily far from the truth as i was served by a smartly dressed clean uniformed man in smart hygenic surroundings. My burger was impressive (chicken) and tastey. I also had 3 pieces of chicken with fries and a gravy. These were equally tastey. I will be frequenting there to try the rest of the menu over the coming weeks/months.

We always order from pop-in chicken and absolutely love the food, the family platters are great deal and for a family of three we have chicken for the next day also. Coleslaw salad and the mozzarella sticks are also lovely . Delivery time is quite long, but never happened to be later than the time frame received.

food was not freshly cooked it was done the day before left overs and recook it was that bad had to put it in the bin 😞

Similar to KFC but a whole lot better, chicken that actually is tasty, unlike KFC, staff are friendly enough and hard working, place is clean and tidy and they have good value for money.

Must have changed management. Chips were a tiny portion, wings were overcooked and dry. Go to KFC next time.

Absolutely awful food. If it can be called such a thing. Ordered online (which was on time, the only positive I can mention) and the food was not only freezing cold but also undercooked. I ordered the boneless box, which was a tenner and some onion rings. The chicken burger was one small strip, some nasty lettuce and a rubbery bun. The two strips were dry as hell and very hard to eat. The popcorn chicken was about 8 pieces, neither of which actually tasted nice. Finally, the chips were cold and not cooked properly either. I didn't eat hardly any of it and threw what was left in the bin. While I hate wasting food, I would not have even given this to a starving person. I feel as if the bin didn't deserve punishment by putting the excess in it. Now I've ordered a few times from here and it's never been spectacular, but this time was definitely the last. You could easily save yourself a LOT of money, time and effort by nipping to a shop, grabbing some chicken and cooking some up in the oven. Even as fast food, it was worse than McDonald's and that's saying something.

First time buying for a while and last time. Had ribs very hard and dry Chicken strips.hard either cheap chicken or cooked for a while Coleslaw watery all above went in the bin.

Pop In Chicken is the best. We have been having it delivered for years and have never had a bad meal. Tonight's was no exception, it arrived early, hot and plentiful. I would never buy chicken from anywhere else.

Only ordered from here because of the reviews. I’ve ordered from here twice this week and found that the food was dreadful. I Should of learnt from the 1st time, 2nd time I had the spicy chicken meal. The chicken was over cooked and hard, and tasted of the oil/fat. The dog had it. I won’t be eating from here again. Sorry..

The tastiest chicken in Plymouth. Honestly I can eat it every day. They also have lunch menu which is great 🥰👌

We bought a 6 piece family deal tonight with 2 free pots of Chicken Gravy and bottle of Pepsi max. It was absolutely delicious. We will definitely buy from poppin chicken again. Super fast delivery food lovely and hot and great customer service. I will definitely reccomend this takeaway to other people.

If I could give less than 1 star I would, the food was so dry it must have been from the day before. Nothing about any of the food was good, AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY.......

This place use to be lovely and was a good alternative to KFC there food was never better then KFC but was tasty for the money but now there food have gone down hill fast and tast like reheated food and cost a lot more then KFC. Most items cost £1 to £3 more sorry to say but I won't be a returning customer any more 😮‍💨

Had to wait over an hour and a half, got someone else's order and stone cold, never again. Lady on the phone no help. I'd been in hospital all day and needed food but everything was wrong

I ordered last night with my order I asked for 3 bottles of fizzy unfortunately I received 3 cans the delivery lady left then 15 minutes later turned up with 3 bottles and apologised and told me to keep the cans as it was her mistakes I think she deserves recognition because she went out of her way to make sure i had what I ordered and she was very polite

love the chicken here better than KFC The ribs have seriously gone done hill tough and chewy need longer in oven on l very low and sauce is not what it was.

Food was okish, have heard good reviews from friends but wasn't what we expected. Much prefer kentucky for fried chicken. Burger was dry and tasteless. Also missing the 1.5l bottle of Pepsi and can of Pepsi that were supposed to be part of the deals we bought. 😔 definitely not worth the money.

Food was not very good was warm driver was not cheerful

Been using these for years but today's meal has put me in 2 minds whether to bother again. I ordered an 8 piece meal, onion rings and corn on the cob. It was the worse meal ever, chips were burnt and dry chicken the same as we're the onion rings. Paying good money, I expect a freshly cooked meal and ours certainly wasn't fresh. Also it stated on line when ordered delivery started from 4.30 yet it was delivered by 4pm, need to sort that out.

Excellent burgers and fries. Would have been 5 stars but arrived within 20 minutes, which was a.lottle too quick

Love pop-ins. Not many options for good chicken in Plymouth, have tried a fair few things on the menu and always been happy. All fried chicken though no peri peri chicken

A nice enough place friendly and clean the meal deals are fair but the beans are really not my cup of tea

For people that want the KFC experience without the unpleasantness. Had a burger from here delivered and it was absolutely massive and really delicious. Comes with the familiar sides and I obviously chose the gravy which was great with the chips I ordered. Overall a bit more pricey than KFC, who they seem to be emulating but you get what you pay for and it's definitely worth it. Will be coming here again to try some of the other items.

OMG this takeaway is amazing. We had a family takeaway last night chicken chips 2 side orders and a bottle of Pepsi max. The chicken is cooked to perfection and the gravy is absolutely delicious. I used to rant and rave about this place to everyone i know! Most people agreed with me that this was the best chicken place, period. However for the past few visits my chicken has tasted like fish, which is horribly off-putting. I just didn't bother ordering again but my family still ordered as they clung onto this being a lush place but even they've stopped ordering now. I hope that this place improves as i can only assume staff have become comfortable and standards have dropped.

First time ordering from these people, but was pleasantly surprised at how quick and how hot the meal was. Will definitely be using again and recommending to my friends and family x

Very disappointed. Me and my friends had a choice to walk to either pop-in chicken or kfc and we choose pop-in chicken. It said online that it shuts at half 10 which after walking there found out that it doesn't and that they have just scraped off the 3 from there half 10 close times on the window. As a result of this we had to have a Chinese from up the road which no one wanted as it was too late to walk to kfc. Broke our little hearts.
