6 of us dined here for the first time recently and enjoyed the evening very much,would definitely recommend and will be going again for sure.

Excellent local Italian Trattoria. The service was great and the food even better. This is a small restaurant run by only 2 people. Leo does a great job, running the front of house, while his wife Alice, turns out first classes dishes all by herself out the back. And the prices are very reasonable!

We came here for a meal and it was very nice, I'd never been to an Italian restaurant before and loved all 3 courses, we would definitely go again and recommend to others for sure.

Amazing little gem within the historic sector of Hereford. This restaurant is run, cooked and served by a dedicated, very small team who have invested their soul into the place. The food is simple, and hearty with punchy flavors. Rustic Italian at its best. Oh and the house red is highly recommended. They have a great philosophy too - local produce, sustainability and low waste so thank you Leo and Alice for an excellent evening, our group are already plotting a return visit. See you again soon.

This is a delightful find in the heart of Hereford. A family run truly Italian experience. Simple ingredients cooked beautifully with a deep understanding of traditional Florentine and Roman cuisine.

This is a wonderful restaurant. Simple proper Italian food. Just three people running this lovely small place. Alice has taken a lot of trouble with her menu and even more with her fantastic ice creams that she makes. Just a million miles away from High street chains with kids putting the Italian food in the microwave from portions in bags. These people really know their stuff at Ponte Vecchio.

Spent two days in Hereford with 8 of our friends. Ate at the Ponte Vecchio on our first night and what a fantastic meal experience we had. Leo and Alice looked after us with magnificent food and wonderful service. Highly recommend this little gem.

Found this restaurant on trip adviser, reviews looked really good so we booked for my birthday weekend, we were not disappointed, it’s very quaint only has one server but it never felt like you were left to it, it’s the owner and he looks after you really well. It’s not a massive menu and doesn’t have all the normal pizzas and lasagna which was great as it made us choose something different and I am so glad we did it was delicious

A must-try in Hereford. Wonderful flavours and quite adventurous combinations of ingredients for Italian food, which was delightful. I had a starter, a main, and gelato for dessert, and each dish was great. Their gelato flavours are bold and a bit unconventional, for instance, I had the chocolate and capers, and the flavours mixed perfectly. Service was flawless as well, overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Incredible food and service at this wonderful restaurant. A husband and wife team plus pot wash make up the entirety of the team and we couldn't work how out how they do it! The host is welcoming and conversational and the food was fresh, prepared with obvious care and so, so delicious. A must visit.

Fabulous evening last night! Wonderful food and excellent service from a lovely couple. We were a table of 17 with a list of horrendous allergies and intolerances! All perfectly executed and beyond expectation. Can’t wait to visit again next time we are in Hereford.

The couple running the restaurant were absolutely lovely and the food was authentic and very, very tasty. The rainbow carrots absolutely blew us away in particular..!

We were very impressed with the food and the amazing service. The flavours were very new to us, and felt like we were in Italy. I had the mushroom lasagne which was incredible.

Excellent quality food, friendly service

We visited this restaurant whilst we were staying in Hereford. Although the restaurant decor is certainly nothing to talk about, the food was amazing. Certainly not a typical Italian restaurant, the husband and wife team that owns and runs the restaurant turn out the most delicious food you will ever taste. Be sure to visit, if you can get a booking. They seem to be booked up weeks in advance and at that I’m not surprised.

We have eaten here a couple of times & cannot recommend it highly enough. The food is absolutely fantastic & there is plenty of it. The front of house service is amazing & he is on his own & does a brilliant job. It is very reasonably priced considering the standard of the food produced & like I say I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

The waiter / owner (I think) was really creepy and kept coming over with his “enormous pepper grinder”. The food was very under seasoned and underwhelming. POOR.

The restaurant is easy to find, the place itself is cozy, not so big but nice and therefore the staff is super friendly and customer focused. We enjoyed the evening with great food prepared right aways after ordering, the quality of the food was great and the pairing wines too. All in all was great evening thanks to the staff and great food we had at Ponte Vecchio.

What a lovely find, a small husband and wife run restaurant serving beautiful Italian food which was unique and miles apart from the usual meals you get in larger restaurants. It was like eating at your grandmothers. The taste combinations were excellent and all produced by Alice in her kitchen. Leo was an excellent and attentive host front of house. Starter portions were large so be warned!

The food and service at this independent restaurant are both outstanding. I cannot fault it. They are very flexible for vegetarians and vegans, providing vegetarian options of most of their menu. This time I had apricots with Gorgonzola (do not hesitate) - the best Gorgonzola I have ever had. The pasta was outstanding, they didn’t have pancetta so made with sausage. Again, best sausage I have ever had. Afrrogato for dessert, which is now my new favourite thing. Leo is a lovely host and his wife Alice who does the cooking is a genius. I had the house white, and it was excellent. Go, do not hesitate! I would go back to Hereford just to go there again! This was my second time, and I cannot wait to go back again.

Honestly the most delicious Italian food we have tasted, the garlic bread was 10/10 and we feel that nothing will top it! You can feel the hard work and love that goes into the business which makes the experience even better. This is the second time we have been here and we will continue to come back when visiting Hereford!

I love Ponte Vecchio and always have beautiful meals including the Ragu and chicken skin tagliatelle. Garlic bread and affogattos are to die for and the Burratas are always fresh, creative and never disappoint. Leo is the bestest and kindest host. Definitely recommend if you want great food with a family feel.

Truly amazing. We came thinking this might be decent but it is genuinely one of the best restaurants I have been to for many years. The food you get is so tasty, imaginative and well presented. It is even incredible value. Hereford is lucky to have this place. Anyone going anywhere near Hereford would be well served to book ahead and just go to Ponte Vecchio.

Visited here with my husband and mother-in-law in July. She is vegetarian and an excellent cook and she raved about our meal. My husband said it was the best pasta he'd ever had in a restaurant. The service was spot on. We loved the food so much we even went for 3 courses, unheard of for us. I will be telling all of my friends to visit Hereford JUST to visit this restaurant!

Went out for dinner here for a birthday. The service was very obliging, and the food was excellent. I had the burrata starter, with coppa piacentina and honey, which was a highlight. Then we all had the paccheri with 16 hour beef short rib, which was heart and warming, with a strong tomato and chianti flavour to it. Two of us had the gelato, and another had the vin santo cantuccini. The vin santo was nice, and the cantuccini had great flavour, although perhaps slightly dry, but still, a very nice closer for the meal. One of us, being annoying, asked for some blackcurrant compote on the gelato, which was part of another dessert, and this compote didn't arrive at first. Just when we thought they had forgot, the blackcurrant compote was brought over, in its own serving bowl. Demonstrating once again, how obliging the service was. Everything we tried had a unique Italian flair to it, making this a truly great spot for a special occasion in need of some authentic Italian cuisine.

This was my second time eating out at Ponte Vecchio We pre booked which got us all very excited about our food and added to the experience! I’m a vegan and many of the meals & starters were naturally vegan but all meals could be adapted to due to booking ahead so there was no missing out at all. To start we shared a few things- -basil Beetroot + chickpea tuffo- amazing dip with handmade tortilla chips. It was heavenly scattered with toasted pine nuts. -Griddled hispi cabbage, pangrattto, miso bagna calda, crispy onion, chilli oil. This was so fresh and I loved the simplicity of the ingredients and how they made that humble cabbage shine!! We also had the garlic bread which was indulgent and juicy. We all said it was the best garlic bread we’d ever had. For main I had the Paccheri, tomato, artichoke heart + fresh mint pasta. It was absolutely delicious! I wish I was eating it now (and it’s breakfast time!) My friend had- Spinach + ricotta girasole, hay baked carrot, sage + brown butter (v) this was a beautiful dish and she enjoyed it very much. I went for a pudding because I didn’t want to leave, Leo recommended the Whipped mascarpone, ginger + almond crumble, rhubarb sorbet because it could be made with an oat alternative and honestly it was perfect!! The sweet cream tart rhubarb, ginger and nutty topping together was beautiful and it was the most delicious dessert. My non vegan friends wish they’d had it. We had two bottles of delicious white wine to wash this all down too. I must add the couple who run the restaurant are amazing Alice is a superb cook and Leo is fantastic running the front of house, they make a great team. I must add that the atmosphere was electric, it was busy and the authentic decor looked even more beautiful lit by candlelight. There’s a reason it’s always busy… I couldn’t recommend this Hereford gem enough.

I asked the owner for a table and he laughed at me and said no as I had no reservation. I asked for an alternative suggestion and he said that he was Italian and he’d lived in Hereford for 30 years and couldn’t recommend anywhere. He was so arrogant and I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant owner. His food may be good but he lacks basic humility.

Honestly, probably one of the best Italians I’ve had in the UK. We came here on our visit to Wales and we’re not disappointed. The food is authentic, felt like we were back in Roma! We had an incredible 3 course meal created by the chef, Alice! My meal was created gluten free, which they’d prepared ingredients for in advance! Family owned and run, all fresh ingredients, incredibly well presented, I couldn't even begin to think of anything, even slightly, disparaging to say of the place.
