Polish Bistro 81 in Selby

Absolutely beautiful !!! Lovely food and huge portions, the waiter /owner was very nice and attentive. Definitely going back . A full 5stars from me !

We visited Bistro 81 while staying in Selby for a week. Not knowing the area we were unsure where to eat out. We spotted this small Bistro which looked warm and welcoming on a cold dark night. We were so glad we decided to call in. The greeting was warm and welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly and took great delight in explaining the menu. What we did not realise was that it was a mainly Polish menu although there is also a good choice of English dishes especially a full breakfast. With the help of the staff we ordered drinks and my husband ordered a beer while I had a very good glass of Merlot. My husband ordered a pork chop with mashed potatoes which he thoroughly enjoyed. The pork was tender and delicious and the homemade mash was smooth and creamy. I settled on the potato cake with Hungarian goulash which was large and very tasty. The whole experience was great. The location of the Bistro is a little out of the centre of town next to the level crossing so maybe not so noticeable but do try it, I'm sure you would be extremely happy that you did. I noticed that they also do takeaway and snacks. We will certainly be back.

Visited Bistro 81 tonight and it was fantastic . Heard so many great reviews we wanted to try and we were not disappointed. Food and service was excellent. Thanks for a lovely evening we will be back .

This was the first time I had visited. I met a friend for coffee and was not disappointed. Was given a warm welcome as I came through the door. The coffee was lovely and hot and we had a piece of chocolate brownie which was lovely. Beautifully decorated for the season and the ambience was lovely.

We went for an early dinner this evening, as a family with outlr 18 month old. Really friendly staff, lovely surroundings and delicious food. We had the goulash on potato rosti pancake, the little one had some dumplings. All lovely!

Enjoyed Bistro 81 a few weeks ago and returned to find newly decorated. Nice fresh vibe to the place. The food was amazing. I had the potato pancake with beef goulash. Perfectly cooked crispy potatoes and a nice rich beef stew Really friendly owners took the time to talk us through the dishes and you can see the passion for food that they both share

What a pleasure it was to visit. The decor is beautiful and the chicken burger I had was Delicious. Good service and looking forward to return.

Went to celebrate partners bday with some friends we polish but our friends are English and we both agreed that 5 stars is not enough honestly such an amazing and professional service and delightful food with big portions , marvellous cocktails highly recommended for everyone who is looking to relax and enjoy themselves staff is very friendly and place looks amazing very welcoming definatelly coming back thank You Wojtek for an amazing service

Friendly atmosphere, good beer, tasty food and good beer. Didn’t leave with an empty stomach!! Took a dessert home with us which was also lovely. Worth a visit.

First time our group had eaten traditional Polish cuisine. We love to try new places and trying something different, we had been recommended to visit and we were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the dishes we ate. We enjoyed the Potato Pancake with Beef Goulash and Pork Escalope with Mash & traditional Polish Salads. Both dishes cooked and presented perfectly and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent and the whole experience was superb. Will be back soon, it’s great to have real food that you can tell is made with great effort towards quality.

Very nice polish food. Nice strong coffee and cakes also. We enjoyed our visit. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and I felt surrounded by Polish culture. Even the music/ television were polish. Fantastic!

Lunch time meal, the bistro was nicely set out and had a European feel to it. The food was really good and tasty I had the pork on toast to start with, followed by Pierogi, very filling. There is a good selection of polish beers...
