Very expensive. Poor service. Very poor quality of food. Won't be back. Could not recommend. Severely over rated. There are many better restaurants locally.

No pasarás hambre.

Had a meal here after the ferry crossing. It was extremely busy but service was great. The meal choice is extensive and very large portions. Wine choice is good. Toilets clean and good parking outside.

I am writing this review on behalf of my grandparents who visted the Point yesterday for Sunday lunch. Myself and my partner always eat at the point and it's always first class so I was disappointed my Granny and Grandad had a bad experience. When they were seated the waitress took their order, which was two of the specials, the roast beef dinner and a turkey and ham dinner. My granny asked to have her gravy in a gray boat to which the waitress replied aye gravy comes with the dinner anyway. My granny explained she didn't like her dinner swimming in gravy she would rather have it on the side. That was ok, the lunch came out and it was two Turkey dinners instead of one turkey one beef, the food was cold and my granny's had the gravy all over it, after specifically requesting it on the side. Mashed potatoes seemed like they had been made with water and were tasteless. They were not checked on until another waitress who they said was very nice cleared their plates and asked was everything ok as most of the dinner wasn't ate. Very disappointed that they had such a bad experience, and they won't be rushing back.

As driving between 2 countries (Ireland / N-Ireland) via coastal roads incl. a ferry connection this stop is logical as you wait for ferry. This is situated at N-Ireland side of large Lough Foyle, so £:s are valid to use. Small but clean bar.

Stopped off while touring. Food was quickly brought and seafood chowder was very good; so were the burgers. Staff are pleasant and a burning fire added some atmosphere.

Although a longish road down to the Point, it is well worth it. The restaurant serves fabulous food, good choices and plentiful; with the staff courteous and helpful. We then sat on the sea wall outside and enjoyed the views over to Donegal or you could go for a walk along the beautiful golden sandy beach around the point. Makes for a lovely day out.

Our dishes included lemon sole and cod. Both excellent cooked to perfection with great sides. Others had brunch and pasta which were also very good. The desserts were fantastic and finished off a lovely meal. A lovely spot on a cold but sunny day with great views over Lough Foyle. Well worth the trip down the Point Road to visit this nice spot.

Called here for a quick coffee, what a disappointment. I know we only wanted coffee and toilet break on our journey but we were literally offered coffee, no biscuits, scones or pastries. Toilets had not been cleaned from night before, was glad to get on our journey again

We were in londonderry for the day and decided to come home past Magilligan. Beef and guiness pie prawn cocktail and chicken goujons with garlic fries were ordered as well as a pint of smithwicks. Very pleasant and quick service, food was very nice although the goujons were battered instead of crumbed which made them seem like fish. A couple of very nice pints of smithwicks, a reasonable price and we were on our way. Very good, will be back

2nd time I've been to the point bar for dinner. Both times I've really enjoyed the food. This time I went for one of the specials which was cod with a garlic and herb crust. Was really delicious. Cooked to perfection. My side was chips. nice and crispy, just the way I like them. Price wise, it was quite reasonable. Not the cheapest place but it really is worth it. Great choice of main meals. Want to go back and try more!

Great staff, great location, great food. What more can I say? can't wait to back this summer when the boat comes in, then I shall have the fishy on the little dishy, today is gonna be the day that I'd like to say to you but I don't know how. The drink will get you drunk so it's definitely good drink and the food will fill you up so it's definitely good food, and if you mix the two of them together and take too much you will be sick and all that good food will be wasted, and I am just putting all these words in because trip advisor wants the review to be at least 100 words which is very silly because you will get people writing things in here that may not make sense, in such case they should be barred from trip advisor, there is no place in society for people talking nonsense.

A group of us had been Blokarting at Benone and went to the Point Bar for lunch. It was just what we needed, tasty comforting food after a windy morning on the beach. We got a cosy table by the log fire and had a lovely meal. The seafood chowder was good and went down well with a glass of Guinness

We arrived more my accident than design, and I wasn't sure about the renowned Northern Ireland hospitality.Never mind, we weren't let down in any way. The waiting staff were busy, because although this eatery is a bit out of the way, it was busy. Very busy for a Wednesday evening. This alone ensured we had come to the right place. The specials board had among others, my all time favourite fish. Lemon Sole, which was pan fried and served with beurre maître 'd hotel butter. Lovely. My wife adores Carbonara and although hers had a slightly dry appearance it was both moist and flavoursome. The adjoining tables went for steaks, and it was clear to see why. Massive slabs of perfectly cooked beef, with tobacco onions etc seemed to go down a treat. There was no room for puddings at our table. I suppose that was The Point!

We went out for a late lunch and were not disappointed. For a change we both had meals from the "specials" board. As usual pleasant service, good food and lovely views. It is worth the drive and is open from 12-9, which means a late lunch or early dinner are both possible. Maybe we had "lundin"?.

Yet again we have had two wonderful meals at The Point! Visiting the north coast on our usual family break and weren't disappointed. First night extremely busy but short wait and soon seated. Were told they had a problem with the gas in the kitchen but honestly didn't interfere with our meal! We went again second night and once again fab! Staff are lovely - very friendly and unflustered by being busy!! Great spot to eat - highly recommend!!!

You would need to book a table if you want to eat a specific time although may still have to wait.We arrived on Saturday about six and waiting time was supposed to be around forty minutes but we had to wait an hour. The food was very good as usual. We had to eat in the bar area which was over crowded and people where leaving their drinks on our table. We felt really uneasy eating our meal.If we had wanted to eat in a pub we would have done.I think if they dining was kept to the dining area it would be much better. We are not antisocial but would have liked to enjoy our meal without complete strangers looking down our throats. We will eat there again but will pre-book next time, hopefully in the dining area.

Have dined here a few times with my wife and daughter. Very pleased with this restraurant on each occasion.Situated in a very picturesque location, the staff have been extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food has always been very good, whether at lunch times, dinner or Sunday lunch. Prices are very reasonable, with a menu to suit most tastes. Their fish is particuarly good.Well worth stopping off for a drink, something to eat and some craic beside the open fire.

Stopped for lunch with my partner, daughter and our dog. Waited and was seated by a member of staff in an area which was off the bar. Ordered food which was lovely. We all enjoyed our meal until the last few bites when a women who I can only assume was a member of management, stood at the other side of the restaurant and in a loud, abrupt manner and proceeded to raise her voice and inform us that our dog was not allowed in the area we where eating! In shock, as I wasn't even sure who she was talking to as she did not approach our table or introduce herself I realised she was speaking to us!!! "Dogs are not allowed in this area, in future do not have your dog here" and other comments that I cannot remember. At this she stormed off in the direction of the kitchen, leaving us shocked and annoyed! After all we were seated by a member of staff, we didn't try and disguise the dog, I didn't hide him under my coat, he was there for all to see, nor where there signs to say No Dogs! My daughter who had wanted a dessert was left confused and annoyed as with this we paid the bill and left. I feel this woman really needs a course in customer service! Had she approached us at the table in a courtesy manner we would have explained that as a customer I am unaware of the policies within the restaurant, if we have a dog with us we need to eat in the bar, which was fine with us, but please don't embarrass us by standing 10ft away, without introduction, infront of my 10 year old daughter to tell us our beloved dog isn't welcome! A dog friendly restaurant it is not!!

Originally walked in to this bar for lunch. Knew nothing about the place. The decor is something I’ve never witnessed in such a big place. The place is outstanding. The food is awesome and nothing is too much trouble. The staff? I’ve never seen so many of a team getting on with their duties and made my wife and me feel so awesome. Expect banter and the team know the difference between banter and abuse. Couple of the team, Shannon can have a laugh but gets a good job done. Then it’s over to Stuart, this lad is something special. I have boozers in Scotland and this lad would walk right on to any my rotas. Total gentleman. Will I be back? 100 percent. Thank you 1 and all.

We went with our grandchildren on our weekend at Benone. Sunday morning was the last day and called for a treat. Decor is gorgeous, service brilliant with nothing a bother even though we had deviations from main menu. Hyper grandkids, spilled coke nothing phased the staff. Food was lovely. All in all a great time.
