Poco Pizza in West Dorset

Delicious pizza, and generous too. The young people manning it were charming and efficient, and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. It was obvious a lot of effort had gone into creating a welcoming atmosphere. We shall be going again.

Lovely friendly venue, we could even take the dog on the outside heated terrace. The gluten free pizza, had the best pizza base I have ever eaten. However you do need to let them know in advance if you want one, but worth making the effort. Delicious pizza, friendly staff and a lovely view across Lyme bay.

I’ve reviewed this place before and have nothing but absolute praise for the quality of the pizza, the ambiance and the overall experience - 10/10 - no question - so this review is more about the use of the booking app, which although ‘appeared’ to have accepted my booking, I did not (I discover) receive a confirmation email. So something to have in mind particularly where a dietary requirement might exist to be made known by way of advanced notice; and of course, in busier times, the risk of there not being an advance booking would risk being turned away. Upon booking - or attempting to book - the ‘app’ did accept my request to join the mailing list, so I’m still none the wiser as to what went wrong (?) Nonetheless, an excellent meal (again) I can’t help but comment on the presence of some irritating ‘fruit flies’ in the restaurant and around the table; I’m not sure if these have come into the restaurant on the wood used for the oven (although we’ve never experienced them before?) or from somewhere else, but it seemed as soon as we’d dealt with one floating around, another would appear. I make this comment only for completeness, as it did mar what was otherwise another enjoyable occasion once I’d overcome my embarrassment at being caught out by the booking ‘app’.

This place is a must for any traveler visiting Lyme, we return here every year and again the pizzas are original, tasty and perfectly cooked!! We had the side leaf salad and that was a complete joy too eat, the leaf is from Trill farm just up the road, the dressing simple yet very tasty…I had the pumpkin based pizza with the chilli honey…heaven!!! Relaxed all with Good service!

I visited Poco on a Tuesday evening with family whilst visiting the West Country. I had the pizza with fennel sausage on it. The pizza was amazing and probably the best I’ve had in any restaurant. I also tried the three cheese garlic bread which I can honestly say is one of the best I’ve ever had. Adding Gorgonzola was a tasty extra touch! The service was great. Was brought water for the water on a number of occasions without having to ask. The restaurant was cosy with a nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend Poco and I’ll be back to visit when I’m next in that part of the country.

We ordered a couple of takeaway pizzas whilst staying in Lyme. When collecting them we were disappointed we weren’t eating in as the atmosphere and position of the restaurant were great! The pizzas themselves were lovely, thin and crispy. Highly recommend and hope to return to eat in!

If you like good thin Italian Pizzas then this is for you! We went twice during our holiday in Lyme and had wonderful meals each time. Food and service were first class. If it is on the menu, I would strongly recommend one of their special : -Mozzarella in Pesto - see photo. This was probably the best Mozzarella we have tasted in the UK! If you sit outside you can even hear the waves lapping on the beach! Will we go back? DEFINITELY

Beautiful thin crispy base so that you can taste the quality ingredients all with a distinct flavour and every bite a pleasure. Please never change. A tasty pizza and a glass of red. Just perfect

Really good! PROPER wood-fired pizzas. A warm welcome and friendly, responsive service throughout our meal. Considering how busy Poco was at the time we went, pizzas appeared in good time. It was great sitting outside on the 'raised' terrace - very Italian! A nice atmosphere. (Needs to be booked.) Pizza's are reasonably priced for their quality, with a simple, fresh side salad. Overall, an enjoyable experience! PS. It would be good to have an Italian beer on draught!..

Decent pizza, good wine. A slip up with our order, asked for the removal of blue cheese , but when the pizza arrived, there it was . No big deal, I picked it off. But someone less charitable could have made a fuss .

Manager fitted us in at the start of service into an empty restaurant..which soon filled up! Clearly popular - and why not. The pizzas were delicious. You can watch the chefs making them in the oven. Very family friendly feel to it. Thank you.
