Best flat white ever, excellent cappuccino too. The oat cookie was delicious too. Take away but little courtyard cafe tables looked nice.

What a gorgeous haven Plum & Grain is. With incredible coffee, cakes and ethically sourced goodies (which I want one of everything please!). The courtyard is quaint and peaceful, the perfect place to spend an afternoon enjoying all their treats and browsing the store for gift ideas! You won’t be disappointed!

A little gem in the heart of Newbury. Coffee is great, cake is always fresh and delicious. Staff are super friendly and inviting. The shop has unique items, ideal for gifts but also for treating oneself. There is a quaint little courtyard too. Would highly recommend for anyone who likes visiting individual places and support local and small businesses.

Beautiful boutique coffee shop that sells some of the most delicious cakes in Newbury. Their specially selected hand crafted homeware goods are fast replacing my existing items. Highly recommended and a must visit when in town.

Plum and grain is a little gem hidden in the town hall, make sure you don’t miss it! You get a lovely warm welcome, great coffees and amazing cakes all whilst trying to avoid buying all the beautiful jewellery, super stylish vintage home wares and lovely smelling stuff. They’re focussed on stuff that doesn’t ruin this earth which is spot on. The courtyard is a little oasis and they’ll make a fuss of your dog as well. Just perfect!

A weekend must visit for me. Fantastic coffee, the best selection of cakes. Brownies and bus off cookies are a personal fave. It’s also a really super place to pick up a gift for a birthday, a special occasion or Christmas etc. Jewellery, scarfs, handmade scrunchies (we all love those), cards, ceramics, candles and more. Hannah and Kathryn are always so welcoming, friendly and put the utmost of care into their business. Do support them 🖤

Highly recommend Plum & Grain - the service was so warm and friendly (it’s run by two sisters and you can see how much they put into making everyone’s visit special), the coffee was great and they also sell gorgeous, quality homeware and jewellery. Oh, and their homemade cakes? Delicious!! A must visit in Newbury.

Great service coffee and cakes, I am somewhat biased as I am their dad. Give it a try much better than all the chains. You’ll get a personal service.

A Well cooked meal, hot and well presented. The Ibex is situated in Chaddleworth, a pretty village in West Berkshire, about 7 miles North of Newbury. A good chef.

Tucked away in a retirement complex is this super little place offering a variety of delicious food, all home made, at ridiculously reasonable prices, prepared and served by a lovely couple. Find it and give it a try.

I go here regularly. Small friendly little cafe in the village shop. Sometimes buy as popular with hikers and cyclists in the area as well as being used by us locals. Fantastic for a brief cuppa, with excellent barrista coffees and pots of tea with an excellent range of made locally or in house cakes, sausage rolls, pasties etc. Some rather fantastic 'salad' options [coleslaw] made freshly to accompany the above and there's always a good 'soup of the day', again made freshly. Wonderful people watching either indoors or out and really friendly volunteers running this community owned cafe. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved everything about the restaurant. Food was a really high standard, well presented and a good variety (everything from turkey with all the trimmings to a vegan pithivier). The waiters/waitresses were a little shy but we had great service. It's an absolute bargain for a 3 course christmas dinner (£20!), what's not to like
