Platform One Cafe And Lounge Bar in Barrow-in-Furness

3 of us went today for 2 Sunday lunches and a fish and chips. It was absolutely disappointing and to be sure will not be going back. The chap who saw us to the table was friendly enough the staff were polite. The food if that's what you could call it was awful the roast beef was as tough as old boots with more fat than meat. The lamb roast was tough meat also vegetables on both roasts were over cooked and had all the goodness gone from them. The fish on the other hand was really nice apart from the chips that were dry as a bone. When told about it the reply was sorry about that. This is no way to treat customers not even a refund for part of it. NOT RECOMMENDED save your money.

So shocked. Used this pub for years and it's been great but today I ordered a meal and two drinks. Waited half an hour (no problem it was busy). Then I asked why .y friend had received his meal 10 mins before me. The staff member gave me a funny look and walked off towards the kitchen. I assumed he was going to question the issue. Next thing he walked right passed me through his staff badge in the cellar put his coat on and left. I asked another member of staff about my meal and she said she'd speak to the manager. The manager ignored me so I went to the bar to speak to her. She told me only one meal was ordered from my table so I showed her my bank app showing I'd paid for my meal. She then refunded my card without even asking what I'd ordered. No apology and no meal. I then noticed 2.99 on my bank app that I had not spent. I questioned this politely and was refunded in cash. Really disappointing customer service from a pub I've used for years. Wouldn't have been difficult to give me what I ordered late as least I could have had something to eat. Will never eat there again.

Back again for a meal and enjoyed it definitely the best place to eat in barrow if your very hungry would visit everyday If I could 😋

Lovely place outside was all christmassy even though it was halloween. Lovely greeting nice atmosphere waitress was very pleasant, Food was delicious as it has been every time we have food as we've been several lunch time too. Highly reccomend it.

We've been here a few times in the past and it wasn't very nice but now, it has new owners and our meal was absolutely delicious. Made fresh by the chef and for the amount of people in there, they agree with us. A lovely "Olde Worlde" Country pub and very friendly staff. Will visit again!
