Superb fish and chips for a reasonable price. Not first time I have been and I don't live in Barrow.

Always loved this chippy until tonight, I had a meal missing off my order and the food which did arrive was freezing cold, was told over the phone I could either have my missing meal sent out or a reduction on my next order, I've had warmer mcdonalds and that's saying something, won't be returning

We always get the fish and no complaints from us

Absolutely shocking. Ordered 2 fish on walking in, sat waiting for nearly 20 minutes till I was told I should have picked up a ticket!? Eh? I've never known such a set up nor did anyone explain this. So odd. Fish was rubbish (tiny) and batter was chewy. I had high expectations for here as it came highly recommended on evening mail post on FB , however I've no idea why!!! andys and mattys are far superior. Do better guys. It was nice a few years ago before it's gone all posh.

Went to order for a family get together. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. It was a big order but we didn't have to wait for long 😁. The food was very tasty and the portions were quite large. All-in-all a very good experience 👍👍👍

So I'm going to give this place 5 stars been here a few times now and everything I've had has been consistently good from the chips to pies and fish

First of all the food was to greasy and bland And second the services were pretty nice the staff are nice towards customers Atmosphere is absolutely miserable not a fun place to work or order from that's why I'm giving it a 3 star

I had lightly battered fish,a normal fish and chips it was brilliant best I've had in barrow the staff were brilliant and the owner was very pleasant

Our go to chippy! Always good quality food. The cook merticulously cares for his freshly fried fish, batter is not stodgy at all. Chips are not greasy. Every time we visit this establishment we are never disappointed. Keep it up Olympic! Will always recommend here as the best chip shop in Barrow. Well.. looking back as it's now nearly June, ignore all the above, as visited it a few times lately and is not at all how it used to be! Stodgy batter, overpriced and greasy too!! What's happened Olympic??? Come on, pull your finger out of that batter and get it back to the quality it used to be...

Chips with no flavour and a bit like cardboard and plain sausage cosy 1.80 for a aldi standard sausage I can get a pack of Richmond for less than a pound very much mugged off

Cant be beaten on portions/quality or price.we went after totally random recommendation by a stranger and as visitors to Barrow decided to take a chance. Topping things off were the friendly welcoming staff.

Completely delicious fish and chips. And an absolute bargain at only £6.80 for a whopper of a fish with chips. You even get a nice cardboard box to keep it all in. Most lovely

Absolutely delicious! The fish was beautifully battered, crispy but not greasy as were the chips. My son had scampi and also gave that a rave review. Only slight criticism was he could of been delivered warmer but was so tasty didn't spoil the meal. Is not cheap but worth our hard earned coins!

Always super fresh both by delivery and in the shop. Their homemade fish cakes and scampi are insane and cone with the best homemade tartar sauce ever. Love coming here, one of my fave chippies in the UK.

They do this big fish and chips box that's got loads in it and it tastes great would recommend

My favourite chippy. Last time I had the home made fish cake, wow!! It is packed with lovely mash, fish and parsley, gives it a fresh taste and they are golden and crispy 😋 only £2 each!!

What's to grumble about? Well the weather was bloody windy and wet last weekend but the A1 fish and superb battered cod made up for. And handicapped son found the curry sauce superb, and he is a connoisseur! More than adequate portions. The boss and his staff were most welcoming and efficient. Great value and a cock stride from Wetherspoon's Furness hotel where we stayed, and the Duke of Edinburgh, another nearby hotel.

Regularly order from here. Generally a nice chippy but what’s the deal nowadays with no salt and vinegar on chips anymore!! Even when I put in order notes to put loads on.

On and off experience with this place. Sausage, scampi and chips was always good. Was once misheard when ordering sausage and chips. Was charged over 10 pounds for 2 large fish and chips. Once we collected our order and pointed out their mistake they said they couldn't give us a refund although I have no idea why.

Chips were hard meat&pot pie pastry like concrete rest of food was good

Waiting time not too bad, maybe 15 mins as was assured everything cooked fresh. Alas, this was not the case, the chips were dry and for sure refried, and the fish was overcooked. Sides of gravy, curry sauce and mushy peas were lovely, but Im afraid this was the only highlight of the meal.

Ordered jumbo sausage chips and curry x2 , homemade fish cake , and a battered burger in a bun. Chips were gritty like the potatoes were still dirty , the curry sauce was like the curry you get from a packet from supermarkets , the homemade fish cake was all potato and no fish and the worst part was the battered burger , took the first 1 home it was raw still pink inside rang the shop they sent a replacement and the replacement was also raw needless to say will NEVER order from this place ever again only order if you want food poisoning!!!!

Gritty chips and curry sauce not that nice. Homemade fish cake was basically just fried mash, sausage was ok though. Also had a battered burger that was still raw, they sent another one out and it was also raw! Wouldn't have food from here again

Ive not been to the Olympic for a long time its not my normal chip shop (habits die hard and all that) but I have to say I was very impressed. Tasted great. Proper chips, large sausage, awesome portion and only £3.50 can't beat it. Friendly staff very quick will be going again.

Fish was super delicious, very cheap, staff were super-friendly - the lady at the counter even gave a free drink to my daughter... Would highly recommend this place...

Excellent fish 'n' chips - and mushy peas and curry sauce for that matter - from a traditional chippie. Family holiday in Lakes and we were visiting Barrow. Grandkids wanted fish and chips and after enquiring with locals, Olympic was recommended. Also, importantly, it was open after 8pm!

Great food, great staff, good portions and the chicken is halal. Fish and chips was beautiful and the chicken fillet burgers were freshly made and tender. Clean environment, great food and good prices.

I placed an order at 5.30 pm. It said it would be 45 mins. I looked again at my order at the time i was expecting it and saw that the time for delivery had been changed by the Olympic to 7.45 pm. Annoying. I didnt want to eat such a big meal so late. I had chosen to have salt and vinegar. There wasnt any. Also the fish was most definitely frozen fish that had been defrosted. It wasnt remotely flakey. It was mushy, wet and tasteless. Also the batter had huge clumps of raw batter. Horrible. Even the small tub of gravy was absolutely tasteless. My money is more precious than to waste going here ever again. A take away is a real treat to me. There was no joy, taste or care in this meal. Really disappointing. What a shame

Ordered fish, chips and peas for delivery in the current virus ridden environment. Astonished that the food came in less than 15 minutes, piping hot, good portions, we ordered two fish with one regular chips which was more than enough for the two of us, a large peas was also enough. Batter not too thick and sll food well cooked and tasty. Definitely one to try again.

Fantastic quick service, pleasant staff, food quality exceptional, reasonable prices

Food arrived almost 45 minutes earlier than requested, got mine fresh but other person had to rewarm their's. Sausage and chips were spot on, curry could be spicier and they forgot my drink. Called to sort it out and got hung up on, so in conclusion food is great, when you get it hot, but service could be a lot better.
