Pizzeria Napoli in Mendip

As always, fresh and tasty food. It's now called cheers bar, so it has a wider range than Italian food. Staff are always great fun and they have some good deals on.

Visited last week , the food was great , garlic bread delicious, all food was hot and tasty, the service was outstanding lovely lady who served us was so friendly and welcoming, will definitely return

My Husband and I came here before going to the theatre and they happened to have an early bird menu which was great value for money! We ordered two pizzas, salad, Arancini (that wasn’t on the menu but they made for us), tiramisu and a bottle of house white wine. We really enjoyed our meal and could even see the chef making our pizzas with fresh ingredients. Great value for money, delicious food, friendly staff. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Food arrived tonight on time and was absolutely amazing! Glad we tried again, favourite dish is the Meatballs fantastic 5* from us!! Would defo recommend excellent food and service.

Lovely little restaurant/bar the owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. Extensive menu but particular favourite is the pizza which are wonderful. Great value for money

Visited for the first time yesterday, and really enjoyed the experience. Service was attentive and friendly and the owner, Michael was a great host. My wife can’t eat gluten and having let Michael know in advance they had ordered in gluten free pizza bases so Diane had a choice of pizza or pasta, lovely touch. Food was superb, hats off to Davide! Waiter Joe was great and a smashing wine list. Highly recommended.

Extremely accommodating to our party of 10 (including young children) that turned up out of the blue to celebrate a birthday! Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was of a high quality and everybody enjoyed their meal. Really good value as well! Highly recommend a visit.

The food was amazing. My friend and I are great pizza fans and have tried lots of local places that we have enjoyed; this one was just perfect. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly - both the very experienced ones and the younger ones who are learning their trade. Can't fault them!

Ordered from here a few weeks ago. It was genuinelly the worst takeaway pizza I’ve ever had. The pictures I’ve seen from other reviews showed actual fresh Neapolitan pizza but what we received was not. The garlic bread cheese base was bought in. The cheese came off the whole slice when you bit it, which it wouldn’t do if it was freshly baked and cooked. It was a base bought in which was frozen and then defrosted. It tasted like cardboard. I ordered the lasagna pizza. It was horrible. This pizza base was not bought in, and would’ve been made by them, but it was a tiny thin crust and the edges were over cooked and rock hard. Absolutely not what you seen in the promotional pictures. We got some chips, which to be fair had a seasoning on them and were really nice. We also got a salmon pasta dish which was average. Round the corner is another Pizza place called Tre Amici. I’ve ordered from there many times and it’s always been great. It was closed on this night so we tried Napoli, but would never again. Shame to have to leave such a bad review, but it’s not acceptable when food like this is served. If we were eating in the restaurant it would not have been paid for. Would never order from here again.

First day of bottomless brunch £20 pp, booked for lunch today, and so glad we did. Warm welcome from owner who is rightly proud of this great little restaurant.. Pizza and pasta very tasty, though mozzarella on caprese salad starter unbeatable. Italian beer different, in a nice way. Lovely waitress, glasses never empty. Plenty of choice on standard food and drink menus at really good value. Will definitely return, and try chill bar upstairs

OK, so I have no idea what happened on the day we ordered, but what we received definitely did not match A, the pictures in their social media posts, or B, The ingredients they say they use. Heres a brief outline of what they advertised verses what we got Advertised = 'Original recipe Neapolitan tomato sauce What we got = Sour tomato puree spooned direct of a can Advertised = "Fior Di Latte" What we got = Hard danish mozzerella, mixed with what tasted like long life pre grated parmesean dust from the 1970's I really want local businesses to do well in Bury, but this was really disappointing. I've worked in catering for many years, and I completely respect that some days staffing goes haywire, or deliveries don't come through etc etc , but this was really bad. Pizza is a hard this to do excellently, but a very easy thing to do OK........this was actually pretty horrid though. This was our first, and sadly probably last order, I have no idea if the business has changed hands, etc. People really want to get behind local businesses and support them, but it's hard not to feel ripped off and lied to when basic ingredients are substituted for cheap options.
