Pizza Hut Delivery Ormeau Road in Belfast

I'm from California and give this place credit for effort. I eat Mexican food all the time back home. I had the birria tacos with the esquites corn dip, it reminded me of elote corn dip the street vendors sell but I'd suggest more sour cream and Tajín seasoning. I'd also recommend including Mexican rice and beans as a side, burritos, Pico de Gallo with the chips, enchiladas and if you could include chile rellano I'd really be impressed

A lovely treat for myself and my daughter.

Food and drinks are excellent but if you're unfortunate enough to be put at the table that's immediately in front of the door prepare to be blasted by cold air all night when anyone enters or leaves. Also this is beside where the servers take phone calls so we had difficulty hearing each other at times with the phone ringing and not being answered for long times. This is the 2nd time I've been at this restaurant and I would return but only if I could be guaranteed I wouldn't be sitting right beside the door. I think this restaurant should sacrifice its seating capacity by 2 and just remove this table during winter/cold months.

Pricy tasty snacks (Tapas) it wouldn't qualify as a meal as we in Ireland know meals.

Fish tacos were amazing, the restaurant was not overly big so I would recommend booking so you're not disappointed.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in Northern Ireland. Pork belly tacos were insanely good.

The food was awful, we ordered it and then about 5 minutes later our main courses came out. They tasted bland, un seasoned and had clearly been sat around for ages didn’t seem like it was made fresh. and for the price you are paying that is ridiculous, the food should have tasted amazing. But it didn’t.

The food here is excellent - everything is pretty simple and really well done. The cocktails are top class, a proper authentic margarita experience (I'd especially recommend the mezcal margarita). There's good gluten free options and veggie/vegan options. The decor and general ambience of the place is pretty casual given the price of things, which is the only thing that maybe let's it down. Also worth noting hat a 10% service charge is automatically baked into your receipt. Overall, a reliable and tasty place to enjoy Mexican.

Fantastic food and drinks. One of the best margaritas in town. Interesting, well executed menu in very decent prices. Service somewhat spotty but fine. Atmosphere could be improved but overall definitely one to recommend when around Ormeau Rd.

Lovely food served by a brilliant server. A wee bit of a wait but we'll worth it as everything looked and tasted fresh.

Great location right on the Ormeau Road, friendly staff and attentive service with a friendly smile from all. Food was exceptional along with cocktails. Highly recommended the habanero margarita if you like it spicy 🌶️

Thought it was a bit expensive, and the hard surfaces make it noisy.

I liked the food tbh also the prices are acceptable but the only thing that I didn’t like is the receipt…They have charged me 10% for the service without mentioning that…I asked then the waitress was ohh we are sorry it’s not something that you must pay for…it’s optional (The thing is they have put it already without asking or suggesting it)

Ate there last night. I feel like I've been robbed to be honest. The portions were laughably small. £10 for a shallow bowl of guacamole and a handful of tortilla chips. 2 very small tacos. I ordered a coke.....a joke sized 200ml bottle came, at the cost of £3!! In other words £15 quid a litre. We both left hungry and disappointed. The only over-sized part of our meal was the surprise 10% service charge added to our bill, for pretty unexceptional service. Poor value. Will definitely not be back.

It's nice to have a cool Mexican in the neighbourhood. Also pretty nice to have a connection to Snow Patrol as investors in the place. The Margaritas are delicious, and the guacamole as good as you'll find anywhere. Unfortunately the service is slow and disorganised, and the food is very hit and miss. Fish tacos were dried out and the batter was thick and badly overcooked. We told our waiter, who said, "Oh", walked off, and did nothing about it. When we complained about the flabby Papitas Fritas, he said "What's wrong with them? I had them earlier and they were fine". In other words, you're wrong and I'm right. Lovely. The place wasn't that busy. Could be so much better with some staff training and a bit of attention to detail. Plus, there's a compulsory 10% service charge, which is a bit hard to swallow. A missed opportunity.

Gone downhill since the last time I was here. Food didn’t taste as good and only get 2 tacos now instead of 3 like it used to be. Service wasn’t good enough to justify a 10% charge when I got the bill 😳 really disappointed as used to be a great spot.

An average experience. The fish tacos were the nicest part. The guacamole was bland and under seasoned, as were the beef tacos which were difficult to dip into the broth. Portions were on the smaller side and were expensive for what you get

Last dined here couple of years ago, was great! But now margaritas and food not as good but also 10% gratuity is included! Sadly disappointed, not sure if I will return.

Not as good as it used to be. Variety of the dishes has dropped. The margaritas are not as good. Automatically adding gratuity is really bad, it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the menu either. Used to be my favourite, better places to go.

Food was lovely but portions small.

Food was great! as a mexican, I was impressed with the taste and how authentic the food was however the service was a bit of a let down. We were four friends, three of us were mexicans. At the point of our visit, there was only one table and us in the whole restaurant. We asked if they could put some mexican music for us to which the manager said no without explanation. For us coming from Mexico, to a "Mexican" restaurant in a foreign country, this was very disappointing.

We finally finished the holy trilogy that is La Tacqueria!!! As with the other two restaurants, the food was as authentic as you're gonna get this side of the 'big pond'. Great service from the team too, with expediant delivery, confident cocktails, and a friendly smile with Norn Irish style! Reasonably priced to leave with a full stomach, and great decor too. Highly recommended!

Heard so much about this place and we were excited about tasting the food. I found the main meal to be bland and burnt. My wife’s chicken was cold and there was very little of it. One of the sides had an excessive amount of coriander. Sadly not to our taste. It wasn’t value for money and the gratitude charge (tip) was added. The customer should decide to leave a tip not the restaurant. We wish this local restaurant all the best in the future but we won’t be returning.

We went on the recommendation of our host (she works in one of the sister restaurants). In fact her top suggestion was to get a coconut margarita and she wasn't wrong. Food was excellent, the fish tacos were a particular highlight. Even better the tacos are 100% corn so they were coeliac friendly. The staff were able to provide clear guidance as to what was or wasn't gluten free on the menu. So, if you're in South Belfast for dinner, La Taqueria is certainly worth a visit. Booking in advance is probably advisable.

Very nice food, felt authentic. It wasn't greasy at all, but wasn't anything super healthy either. But it definitely hit the spot, very comforting. Minus one star because it was under seasoned. I'd definitely recommend trying the fish tacos 🤤🤤

Got the birria tacos and they were very flavourless, no taste of tomato at all and the beef was tasteless. The guacamole could do with a lot more salt, same with the birria tacos and broth

Looked great, tasted bland. I've no idea how they have managed to make it look so good but have so little flavor. I asked for Chipotle and the waitress didn't know what it was. Only had 2 in-house sauces one was herbs and the other a black smoky sauce that didn't have any kick to it. I'm not crazy on spice but there was no depth of flavor in anything. Such a pity. I thought it was better a few years ago but now I'm doubting myself. Basic Ormeau eaterie. Bring your own sauce.

I’m a Texan now living in Belfast. Gotta tell ya, these folks make a lovely Margarita. My preference is the Tommy Margarita. Each made to order with fresh juice. Amazing!! Also their tacos warm my heart and belly when I’m feeling a bit homesick! Seasonal menu changes with available ingredients. Great guacamole and chips that are hot and crunchy. Last night had ceviche tostada, would have again. All good and brought to you by their staff who are super sweet and attentive. This place makes me happy.

dying to go back. their cocktails are some of the best i've had and their tacos are so filling. the server with the tattoos is beyond exceptional and i've never felt more accomodated and he made the night out one to remember for a while

First class food, excellent service. Second time at La Taqueria and will be back again, staff are brilliant and food is delicious.

The food was awful. The only thing nice was the Corona. For starters we had tortilla guacamole which was bellow average who puts spring onions in the guacamole and no chillies. It tasted like it was sitting there for ages. Mains was birria tacos which tasted like a toastie with beef. The beef was so bland it tasted like they just boiled it and shredded it. On top of the food been so disgraceful the floor was greasy and table was dirty plus they wanna charge 10% for service charge when they can even offer a clean table. Imagine the kitchen where they cook your food. Had a sneaky peak to the kitchen and the hot plate (grill) was was black no wonder the tacos looked so black.

Best tacos I’ve had outside of North America (finding decent tacos in the UK/Europe is A LOT harder than you would think). Mezcal margarita was excellent as well. We are only in Belfast for the weekend but already considering coming back once more before we leave!

Excellent selection of tacos to suit vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters alike! The guacamole tostada makes for a tasty starter, and the sides are great for sharing.

Drinks excellent, food was good but not for me but have heard actual mexican people in the restaurant talk of its authenticity. EDIT: On further researching, I think mexican food is heavy for me in general, which is not to take away from the restaurant itself.

Everything that i have ever had has been excellent on each visit I've tried different options with the help of the very knowledgeable and helpful and curtious staff there is not enough stars for me to rate it properly 15/10 😊cheers all

i never review stuff but i’m literally so appalled at how much of a rip-off this place is that i saw no other choice. partner and i got a takeaway. i got the birria tacos, he the pork belly. we shared a side of holy mole fries, and requested the mole verde on the side. we received a box of plain potato cubes (fair enough) and a TINY tub of mole verde, with the “cheese” in it too. the holy mole fries allegedly come with cheese, but there were probably ~3 strands of shredded cheese in that tub alongside the mole verde. it was audacious how poorly portioned it was. the price of the tacos, which wouldn’t fill a gap in your tooth, was ludicrous too. to top that all off, upon entering the restaurant to collect the order for takeaway, my partner was abruptly told “no tables” by a member of staff - good thing he wasn’t looking one. perhaps a more friendly greeting from the staff would be appreciated next time. well, actually, there won’t be a next time.

Underwhelming. Birria tacos were quite bland and had no spice as you would expect. Poor selection of sauces and accompaniments also. First visit so not sure if it was a bad day but not worth the price. Staff were friendly.

Friendly staff but over priced guacamole and ok food. Previous visits to Castle Street have always been excellent. A pity.

Restaurant was empty we were given the worst table in the place I asked could we have another table, response was No - very unfriendly they did us a favour as we decided to leave and not order as atmosphere and table was terrible. Hey got a lovely meal with perfect table up the road. Spending quite a lot of hard earned cash I like to be welcomed and made comfortable. Massive customer care issue.

Cosy Mexican restaurant with delicious food, would recommend the chicken tacos! Good service from the staff. Would recommend booking at the weekend as it's a small place.

This place deserves 0 stars worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. Customer service was appalling as you literally have to wave down a staff member to place your order. The place was uncomfortably warm with no air conditioning in sight and to top things off the food portions are tiny and less than satisfactory, as well as the cocktails as they contained no alcohol. In my amazement I was then hit with a 10% service charge? For what service? This place was also very dirty from the floors to the tables, stinking. Never again will I be back.

Booked this as it was restaurant week in Belfast and La Taqueria we’re supposedly offering £15 dinner. However when we got there, there was no sign of this and when we asked we were told it was in the other restaurant. I explained to the waitress that it never mentioned this on the Restaurant Week website nor on the menu provided by La Taqueria. No which a very rude woman, who I wasn’t even speaking to interrupted to tell me ‘Actually it does’. After double checking it in fact does not state that anywhere. Regardless the overall food was just satisfactory. And then to top off the awful service the waitress asked was I happy to pay the 10% service charge which they had automatically added on for serving 2 people some tacos on a wooden board. Safe to say I won’t be back in the restaurant which is disappointing because I love tacos.

The reason I gave 2 stars was because the customer service was good and my cocktail was lovely but the food wasn’t great. Portions are very small and our food was cold. Not worth the price. The tables and floor were both very dirty too.

Nice food, tacos were tasty enough. I liked their cocktails as well but my brother got the spicy cocktail and said it was a tad too spicy but I guess you get what it says on the title. Would definitely go back again. Staff were nice. Only thing is ambiance could've been improved, tables outdoes were pretty much just on the street and it was sweltering hot so it was a bit uncomfortable.

Food was lovely! Cocktail was nice. However, we did not feel welcome at all. On arrival, we received a frosty welcome and were told we needed to give up our table in 50 minutes. Bearing in mind that the place was empty! Whilst we were still eating, we were told they need the table back in 5 minutes. We asked for the bill. While we waited for the bill, another person came over and told us they needed the table back in 15 minutes. Not sure why, as the place was still pretty much empty. When the bill was brought over, they highlighted that there is a 10% service charge on top of the bill. Paying 10% for a frosty welcome and being rushed to leave 🤣 Maybe just get a boojum next time!🌯

Quite expensive for what it is. The guacamole starter wasn't well seasoned and was missing citrus, unfortunately pretty bland. Fish tacos were tasty. There are better restaurants on Ormeau Road.

Lunch was uninsipred and overpriced food. Portions were quite small too. None of the dishes were even close to a real Mexican flavour! If you are craving some authentic Mexican food, this sadly is not the place to go.

I neverrrr leave reviews, Great food, but found a couple of staff members to be really pushy regarding ordering more drinks/food (by asking us repeatedly despite us saying we were fine after our dinner and drinks) and pushing us to leave despite being booked in from 5.30-7pm. It’s not a nice feeling when you’re having dinner but feel like staff are trying to push you out! Will come back again cos I love this place but we definitely weren’t made to feel very welcome which is uncomfortable!

The food in here is to die for and the magheritas are fabulous. Belfast is not great for Mexican food but la taq is as good as I’ve had elsewhere. Portions aren’t huge compared to the prices but it’s still worth it.

We and my partner were driving by and went for a spontaneous early dinner about 5pm as we quite fancied something Mexican!!!! It's quite a small wee place with not much tables bit very lovely inside and out The staff were very friendly and welcoming and very accommodating as we didn't have a booking The menu looked good but I thought it was a but pricey. The photo of the small Amber colour cocktail was £10 .... Nice but expensive £70.60 total for everything.

Shound bring back the carnitas, but the food is unreal and cocktails are 10/10

One of my fav places on Ormeau Road. I've been there a fair few times and defintely one of the best places to show off when friends and family visit from London.

Can’t fault the flavour and quality of the food we tried, but the portions were tiny for the price paid. They also add a “discretionary” 10% charge onto the bill when you go to pay. If people want to leave a tip they will, rather than feeling like they’re being forced into it. Poor experience overall.

Very poor meal here. Mediocre fish tacos and really chewy duck which was way too fatty to shred for tacos. Bad chips and watery cocktails. Would not recommend.

Above and beyond for customer service, have gained a repeat customer for that alone.
