The Chubby Cherub Lisburn Road in Belfast

We had a lovely time at the Chubby Cherub last week. The food was lovely, I really enjoyed the pizza and the service excellent. One of the meals was cold but it was dealt with very promptly and professionally. The atmosphere was good and its a nice spot if you want a low key night out for decent value for money.

Just had a beautiful lunch in Chubby cherub . Lasagne was the best I have ever tasted . Pizza was very good also . Staff amazing . Beautiful settings . Thank you

Awful service. We waited 1 hour 20 minutes for any food to arrive. I wish we walked out & saved ourselves the waste of time, because the food wasn't good either.

Thank you so much for the most delicious food we had tonight. staff are very kind especially the waitress she was very patient with our orders because we were fasting Ramadan and we wanted the soup first so she was brilliant in getting it soon . No doubt will be back again. Many thanks.

Bolsa mixta aquí. Fuimos con la familia y cenamos un entrante y principal. Ahora seamos honestos, los entrantes eran geniales, bruschetta de langostinos y los mejillones se pidieron y fueron geniales. Lamentablemente, la red eléctrica fue menor de lo esperado. El risotto era grandioso, pero la pasta de nduja, cangrejo y camarón era insípida, ahorrando cuando te encontrabas con el extraño tomate seco. Sin embargo, el peor fue el Pollo Saltimbocca. Absolutely gorgeous decor. Slight hiccup with drinks/timings of them coming to the table but can't complain too much about that as staff were great and really attentive. The food portions were big, everything was delicious. Cocktails seemed expensive on the menu but were actually bigger than anywhere else we've ever been for cocktails! So well worth the money. I will definitely be back.

Un montón de cosas positivas - El personal atento y amable. El vino vino vino en un bonito cubo de hielo sin ser preguntado, muy práctico. Gran ambiente. Buena comida. Solo fui a por pan de ajo para empezar, muy impresionado. Para principal fue por pizza Vesubio, sabía tan bien como parece. Otra principal fue la lasaña - no parecía una lasaña promedio, pero no decepcionó en el sabor Solo negativo era la relación calidad-precio en la Lasaña - £ 19. 50 , venía con pan de ajo (no tan bueno como el pan de ajo de entrada) y salchicha. Creo que algún tipo de producto de papa como acompañamiento lo habría hecho perfecto

Average food for the price. The food was ok, but not remarkable considering the prices. We had some cocktails that mainly consisted of ice and weren't anything to write home about either. If I was going to pay these prices for an Italian meal I would go elsewhere. The service was good, staff were friendly and prompt.

Beautiful restaurant and delicious food

Brilliant time! Went on wednsday. Food was amazing. Kids menu was unbelievable.i got lasagne was beautiful but bit small. For the price.the place was like something out of james bond movie.gorgeus.will def be back. And staff wer so welcoming and helpful. But not in your face all the time. This looks like a lovely restaurant with really nice decor. However, the food is mediocre at best and for the cost you would expect a lot more. Wouldn’t return.

Visited here recently at lunch time.The interior decor is really beautiful. The service was excellent. Ordered Chicken pasta and Meatball linguini. Chicken pasta 10/10 Meatball linguini 5/10. Overall this is a great restaurant

Visited on Valentine’s Day, friendly service, quick to get food out, food was very nice. I had the lasagne and would recommend.

Absolutely brilliant night, being valentines weekend, it was obviously very busy, but the staff were friendly and attentive and really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our night. Food was 10/10, both had pasta dishes and they were perfection. The selection of cakes and desserts are also fab. Already planning another visit with friends.

Awful services, online booking doesn't work, phoned-up to order & told it would be 45minutes. Arrived 45minutes later, to be left standing waiting for another 30minutes. Then they spent over 5minutes putting payment through, leaving pizzas go cold on counter. No discount for the extra 30minute wait ontop of the 45minute wait. Horrendous service.

Absolutely great night with my family at Lisburn Rd Chubby Cherub. There were 14 of us including the kids for my husbands 50th Birthday dinner. All the ladies that served us were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble despite us having lots of requests & staying quite late ! The food was great -pizzas & pasta went down so well & the kids portions were fab ! The decor is just beautiful as everyone knows but it sets you up for a lovely night straight away - Thankyou and we will be back !

Amazing little spot on the Lisburn Road. The decor is beautiful and the food was fabulous. Our experience was completed by having the lovely Gina serve us. Having a friendly smile and someone who is attentive and helpful makes this place stand out. We will definitely be back.

Visited here recently with a few friends. The interior decor is really beautiful, felt quite spacious and the sky ceiling so pretty. The dish I had was really delicious! One of the girls wasn't overly fussed or impressed on her risotto which she felt quite bland, and it was £9 for a veeery small glass of white wine. I don't drink so I didn't realise this is what it costs now I was surprised! Personally I was pleased and would be happy to visit and eat here again.

A great evening had by our group in the middle of the busy holiday season. Service was very attentive, food was great, very nice location and very reasonably priced. Would go back.

A group (15 people) of us went to chubby cherub for lunch. The food was excellent, service was amazing and the overall atmosphere was lovely. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Everyone that attended the lunch were very impressed and we all agreed we will be going back soon! Highly recommend!

We are so pleased we went to Chubby Cherub. The service really was wonderful. One of our party has multiple severe food allergies and our server took lots of time with us to understand what they needed and what order would suit him. They clearly took lots of care and the owner took the time to talk to the kitchen. They were so kind and made eating out a happy and safe experience for us all. Thank you.

At the start I would like to highlight the food. It was really nice!! I was surprised as I heard that this might not be the case…but it was very tasty and I enjoyed! However the service was poor. I do not write reviews very often, but I hope this will actually help the management to train their staff a bit. At the start I received sticky menu, had to go and wash my hands while the lovely member of staff cleaned the menu from the top, but not inside as you open it. So I ended up with sticky hands again. We then waited thirsty for 15 minutes before someone else came to take an order. I would be used to order the drink at the start and then order the food.🤷🏻‍♀️ Everything was OK after, the food was delicious as mentioned above and service quite fast. Had my wine topped up by the lady who was a manager (judging by the uniform). Once we finished the main course we were asked if we would like a dessert. We were so stuffed we said no and just continued with our bottle of wine. And that was it. Since then no one arrived to ask us if we would like more drink etc. there were no more bookings after and the place was open for at least another hour. We sat there and were talking and eventually we thought we could order some dessert. But no one was coming. We were looking out for the staff for over 20 minutes but they were on another side of the restaurant and not coming to our side, or they were eating something behind the bar. After a long wait we decided to leave. We asked them to remove 10% service charge. We had to get up and go to pay to the bar as otherwise we would be sitting there until they close. After getting a bill we realised there were 3 items on the bill we never ordered. So they had to remove it and prepare another bill that we paid. Just as we were outside we realised we paid booking fee £10 per person that was supposed to be deducted from the bill. So we had to return back and ask for another £20 refund. A lot of pple probably forget about it as you pay for what is on the bill not thinking that you paid booking fee previoisly that is supposed to be refunded at the end. Unfortunately, I will not be back…at least not anytime soon. The staff training is really important there…all the ladies were nice and smiling…also apologetic for any inconvenience, however that is not enough sometimes. I wish everyone all the best and hope others will have much better experience in the future.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The decor is stunning, very classy and elegant. The staff were friendly, and the dessert was so good. It is truly one of the most beautiful restaurants in Belfast. Everything was perfect. 👌 I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Loved it! Food was fantastic and Emma Jane who was looking after us was very attentive and friendly. Perfect for some midday lunch!

We have booked a table for 20 people (with 3 small kids) and it was absolutely amazing. To serve 20 people it's quite difficult sometimes but Arman and his Team did a fantastic job. So friendly and we felt so welcome and food was amazing. Thank you very much for the nice evening

Visited the Chubby Cherub on a whim this morning (couldn’t find the original place we had planned) - best accidental find! This was hands down best breakfast my friend and I had in all of Ireland (North and Republic)!! My friend had the Salmone Affumicato and I had the Morso da Gentilumo. The Morso was absolutely brilliant: the perfect blend of savory and salty, with the hint of pepper. The sourdough amazingly stayed crunchy. The cheese and Parma ham were flavorful. The service provided by Gina and Nisha was the best we received as well. They came to check the on us to make sure we were happy. We finished with a chocolate and lemon tartes. I’m pretty sure I died and went to heaven biting into the lemon one. The people of Belfast are blessed to have such a gem in their neighborhood!

The food is okay. Not that great. One of the items we ordered was too salty. The atmosphere of the place is nice. I wouldn't really want to go there again and again. But you can go and try yourself. The chubby cherub Deli was really good and the chef there was also nice. But this one I wouldn't rate highly

I recently visited here for desert after dinner at another location. The service was very good. The staff were friendly. The prices were very reasonable. I love the interior design of this restaurant, it's very unique and clearly has been thought about a lot. The food was excellent, both sorbet and tiramisu was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.

Great italian restaurant with lovely pizzas, pastas etc. their chubby cherub pizza was very tasty coupled with their italian cider. Well worth a visit.

Live green insect crawling around on top of my tiramisu. The chorizo in my risotto was burnt and there was hardly any risotto rice, was all sauce. Mediocre service. Absolutely love the chubby cherub in city centre, no idea what is going on in this one. Scary that they can't take onboard people's reviews and sort out whatever is going wrong in the kitchen. Just go to the restaurant in city centre, you are wasting your money here. I gave 2 stars because the latte and hot choc was good.

Disappointed with Lisburn road one. Flies everywhere. Service was awful. They forgot my cocktail (had to be reminded 3 times before I got it). They then forgot my wine (also had to be reminded 3 times before I got it - I received it after my meal). They forgot my dessert (reminded 2 times for this, I was laughing at this stage because it was unbelievable). When my dessert arrived it was roasting on the outside and ice cold on the inside (? Frozen?) - brownie. They forgot my friends main (we saw the chef freak out and say ‘I didn’t see that’) and the waiting staff came over and told us that they just weren’t happy with the first one they produced and are getting it now. Her meal arrived very shortly after that and was piping hot - so hot and so quick that we suspected it was microwaved. Random mains, drinks and desserts were arriving to our table meanwhile. We were overcharged for mocktails (£13 each!). I definitely wouldn’t go back here. I felt it was necessary to give this feedback for relevant improvement. EDIT: add on, on 18th September. I contacted the email address and company (as requested in their reply) but never heard anything back from them.

Lovely clean restaurant with varied menu and good variety. Not too busy when we were there and waitress was attentive. Our lunch was well presented and the Polenta Fries were lovely. Middle of the road pricing.

Food was great. Service was terrible, didn’t get the correct order of drinks though were correct on the receipt… Waited 30 minutes to get the card machine after other tables had been given bills. It was only when i went up to ask did i get my bill and was able to leave.

Absolutely beautiful decor, both inside and out. Very classy! The tables and cutlery are clean (unlike some other restaurants) and they have great coffee selection. The owner/manager (black haired girl) is incredibly accommodating and does everything for the guests to feel good! She's very flexible and deserves a praise. The food is great too. Tasty and well decorated on the plate. We'll be back for more. Also give the desserts a go, ask for recommendations as we never was disappointed in that either.

Food is like a bad day at Pizza Express only triple the price. Service is woeful and well if the food was poor the food poisoning in the days after wasn't a great experience either. Expensive, terrible food and a dose of the two bob bits.

We revisited the CC to celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary & our 40th year together! The overall service was 5* from the reservation confirmation to the welcome we received from the manager Sarah on our arrival. When we were seated at our table, I realised there was a hen party opposite us so I asked Sarah if we could move & she was so accommodating! We chose to sit outside as it was a nice evening where we could relax, chat & reminisce. Sarah sent us out celebratory glasses of Prosecco which was very kind & appreciated. Our drink/food orders were taken at a nice pace & we didn’t feel rushed. Our waitress Natalia was an amazing server, always with a friendly smile & also offered to take our photo. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef! Check backs were good & at no time felt intrusive. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our evening due to the welcome from Sarah, the service from Natalia, the food offering & the overall ambiance of what is an amazing restaurant, well done The Chubby Cherub, 5* all the way! 👍

The decor is amazing, and the menus were large and had a good variety of everything. The starters came out very quickly, and they were very tasty. And the mains came out 15 -25 minutes later. The portions were decent and garnished really nicely. The pizza is fresh and has lots of toppings to choose from. The pasta dishes looked really good as well. The staff were really nice too. Overall a lovely experience worth a visit

Very attractive decor, not matched by food or service. Half an hour’s wait for the starters. How long does it take to throw together an (overpriced) bruschetta? Much the same delay in getting the main course. Not much in the way of vegetarian food. This is an Italian restaurant? No fish on the menu. Frankly my pasta dish was mediocre, sort of thing you would get in a ready meal from a supermarket . However the real killer was the desserts, or rather lack of them. Several of the party ordered desserts After five minutes the waitress came back and announced that there were no desserts left except one Tiramisu. At least three of our party had ordered that. The birthday girl shared it with her husband. Had we not brought a birthday cake with us it would have been a bit of a disaster.

A lovely meal and pleasant evening. Staff were attentive without being pushy. Some reviewers think it is pricey, we found the range was good and quality of the meal was excellent so happy on that score. We went on a Tuesday evening and there were other couples and family groups, nice atmosphere. I had already been with a friend for lunch and we were both impressed on that occasion so I wanted to go in the evening with my husband. Can thoroughly recommend. Important to support local places if you can.

Food is average, service is awful. Got most of our order wrong. Tipped off when we waited 25 minutes, asked 5 times, for a kids ice lolly that literally had to be removed from the freezer. Ended up going to manager to complain. Apologised for the hassle but verbal apology not enough with the meal being ruined having to chase dishes meant 2 people in party of 7 were eating 15 minutes after everyone else. Not good enough when you see the bill for near £300. Joke.

Every time I dine in the Lisburn road I am greeted with the lovely server Gina. She is such an asset to your business always busy but still makes my experience better ever with suggesting new things I’ve never tried off the menu. You are lucky to have her and I feel lucky to be served by her. She ensures I leave happy and is the reason I return every time.

Very overpriced food £20 for prawn orzo with 4 prawns, cocktails £15 each (£2 service charge per cocktail) food was nice but still hungry after 2 courses costing £40 including service charge, very expensive lunch

The best way to ensure that you have a good restaurant is simple. Great food and great staff. The fact that The Chubby Cherub has stunning decor and is spotlessly clean is also a bonus. We were visiting from Dublin and staying locally and wanted some Italian food. We definitely hit the jackpot, with Gina our host and Chloe our waitress going above and beyond for us. We ordered a garlic pizza bread to share for starters and it came with beautiful pesto. The base was light, chewy and crispy all at the same time. My wife ordered a lasagne, which is made using brisket and is known as 100 layer lasagne. The pasta sheets were so fresh and soft and the meat and sauce were divine together. I had Orzo pasta with prawns with crab and n’duja which I absolutely adored. Gina got the chef to add in some beautiful mussels also. I would happily eat this dish every day. My wife asked if they did Mocktails and Chloe immediately jumped into action and made her a gorgeous Pin Colada with no alcohol. Please please open a restaurant chain in Dublin as soon as possible. Thanks for making our stay in Belfast so enjoyable.

Eight of us went here for dinner during a family visit to Belfast. The food was excellent and the ambience was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful - check out Nisha and Gina. I would strongly recommend a visit.

Had a great meal at The Chubby Cherub. Was a last minute booking on a Saturday night but they got us in quickly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious and the service fantastic, I would highly recommend!

Came in with no booking for 5 people and was able to be sat down. Ordered the sharing platter (breads and dips). Pesto and Marinara dips were delicious and fresh. We were also very happy with mains and desserts. One of our desserts was forgotten but was easily rectified. The lady serving us was top tier 👌

Really lovely time. The cocktails were amazing. I did think it was a little pricey for the quality of the food but it didn't stop me from having a lovely time all the same. Service was a tad slow but they were so lovely that it didn't bother us.

As someone with a dairy intolerance, the waiter was unsure of ingredients in food, asked chef and still sent me out food with dairy in it. not much selection of food that do not contain dairy in the brunch menu.

I got charged for two water £3.60 . Put in sparkling water which was not correct. Service awful, waitress have no clue about the menu. Bad service / no service but was charged service £7 which has no justification. So over charged by £10.6. Food was good though

Had a good carbonara dinner with complimentary traditional lemon cake. Coffee was nice. Lovely service. Will return.

We visited here while on holiday to Belfast and now I'm so sad I live too far away to make it a regular trip! I had the goat's cheese arancini (highly recommend), tiramisu cocktail, and the gnocci as a main. I also had a taste of my friend's carbonara which was absolutely stunning. Lovely decor as well.

It was a nice place to be on a beautiful sunny Saturday evening in may, looking up the lisburn road. Staff friendly. Pizza dough well made, very fresh and baked well. Not greasy. Cocktails great fun. Loved the one with sorbet floating in it. My prosecco was flat but staff swiftly replaced it with no fuss. Only think was - same as someone else mentioned - chili oil tasted like olive oil. No spice for my pizza. Then I also asked for chili flakes and these too weirdly had very little flavor. Old chili loses its potency guys. Otherwise five star easily.

Waitress was lovely but lacking in attentiveness (did not see them after food was served). A lovely atmosphere wasted on the less than mediocre food. The tear and share bread was hard and not fresh. The njuja crab and shrimp pasta tasted like frozen fish- some fresh produce could be sourced locally. There seemed to be a pit of oil at the bottom of my dish and a lingering aftertaste of oil came with it. Overall an underwhelming experience

Lovely setting for the weather we were having. Sat outside and took our time ordering one course at a time. Would fully recommend the sharing board to start (in the photo). Thank you again for the service I'm sure we will be back.

Went here for lunch today and it was sooo good! We sat out the front in the sun and it was just lovely. Such a nice atmosphere. The lady with dark hair served us was really friendly. We were here around lunch so only wanted something light other than pizza or pasta. They have a deli menu with sandwiches and they were both delicious. I got slow cooked beef and my partner got the Italian club sandwich. The bread was so soft and fresh. Would really recommend. I couldn’t finish mine but took it home. Also they do the nicest Italian draught beer. We also got a lemon tart/cake to share after which was so good. Will definitely be back. Was much better than what I was expecting. I would also say though they should show their deli menu outside during the day because the things on the main menu are much more suited to an evening meal but the deli menu is perfect for someone who wants lunch or brunch.

For whatever reason, 1 student ID wasn't enough to use the student discount, with the server claiming everyone at the table needs to show their own student ID?

like it was ok... was maybe slightly disappointed as I was remembering the cosy atmosphere and great food of the city centre one. the chilli oil had been refilled too many times and wasn't spicy at all - nor were the chilli flakes offered instead - and the staff just didn't seem bothered.

Food was late, cold, and very very over priced, very small portions. No drinks available. As bottles are glass, so not equip for a delivery service.

Have eaten in the city centre branch which was a much better experience all around. The food was fine, but we had a very long wait between starter and mains. Then, when the mains did come only 3 of the party was served, the fourth had to wait several minutes and only came one plate at a time. Same with our drinks, 3 were served leaving the fourth sitting waiting for their drink. 10% service charge added to bill which we paid but won't pay again - as I won't be back. Shame- as the location is perfect, the decor is superb and the menu is sublime.

My husband and I go for lunch often and we decided to go here for the first time last week. It is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. Having been to many different places for lunch, all around Northern Ireland, we usually pay anything from £50-£70. Our bill here was a whopping £90. I have given 3 stars, purely based on price because I was horrified to see that the bill included an £8 service charge for 2 people! There was only us in the restaurant at one point, perhaps the pricing is the reason why. I had spaghetti carbonara, it cost £21.00, the most expensive I have ever had. I can not fault anything else about the experience, except the price. There are much cheaper options nearby.

Person who "greeted" us this morning was obnoxious and quite cheeky. Didn't stay. Won't return. Hardly surprising that every other restaurant and cafe in the vicinity had queues outside them and this place was empty.

Cold, pizza looked like it had been on a rollercoaster

Had a fantastic dinner with excellent service throughout! Food was outstanding (the new nduja dough balls are great) and the setting is just beautiful! We have been here before and will most certainly be back again!

Great service by the manager, very attentive to customer needs and appreciate the complimentary treats. Food was great and atmosphere never disappoints will definitely recommend.

I love pizza and this place did not disappoint. I was took here as a birthday treat - food and service were impeccable. I will most definitely return to either place. Great menu, more than pizza and a great cocktail menu too.

We loved our visit for the atmosphere, the experience, the service, the wide variety on the menu. But we didn’t love the food! We liked it a lot but we weren’t blown away by the flavours of it all particularly the dough balls or arancini. The shrimp was fantastic and we would return for that alone. Overall a good experience and we would return
