Regular pizza, here is considered good, nice atmosphere, but no temperature control, and the service leaves something to be desired, dirty table, we asked to clean it again, we asked for water, it took a long time to bring it, and very poor service, no care for the customer. They took away the plate before we finished eating, very bad, asking us to leave

Always made to feel so welcome every time we visit with our Guide Dog puppy in training. Friendly staff, excellent service, couldn't find fault with anything.

I was given a wee One4All voucher for £30 for Christmas, and so I thought I'd treat myself on my regular Thursday evening that I get to sit and read and relax. (Don't panic my wife gets Monday nights!) I have been going to Pizza Express for probably 35 years or more, there's something reliable and tasty and comforting about them. We don't go out much anymore having kids and stuff it just doesnt work out. So I haven't been for about 2-3 years. The restaurant was pretty quiet and I hadn't booked but that was no problem. One of the things I've learned over the years is a quiet restaurant means quiet service too, the staff aren't wired like when it's busy, so it was a little slow but I was in no rush so thats a minor problem! I ordered a Romana Funghi di Bosco with added Pepperoni, Garlic Bread with Cheese and a diet coke. The food came in the right space of time, and was lovely. Pizza cooked just right, and Garlic bread nice and tasty. As I would expect and hope. In terms of this branch of the chain, I cannot complain at all. The food was good and the staff were pleasant. But lets talk prices, my bill was £28.75, for a meal for one with no wine or anything. Perhaps I am naive but thats a gouge. The pizza was £15.95 which is okish, but £2.50 for the extra pepperoni?! Then £6.75 for a tiny cheesy garlic bread?! £3.55 for a coke?! Now if I complained to the company they'd spin me "cost of supplies / cost of living" blah blah" but yeah. This place is now aimed at the monied hipster middle class families. To give context, if I brought my family here we'd be looking at near £120 for a one course meal for 4. Nope. I'll have to think again when it comes to Pizza Express, sadly.

I had to write a review to praise the staff at this pizza express. We arrived around 4pm on Friday 22nd Dec. Even though there was a sign just put up that they were taking bookings only - we were accommodated and squeezed in, which they didn't have to do. I didn't get the name of the man who gave us a table - but we appreciated very much. We travelled from Newtownards and were looking forward to it so much. We were then greeted by Chris who took our order and chatted with us and made us feel very welcome. He included our toddler in the conversation and was very warm and friendly. Upon leaving, our toddler had a big tantrum -being carried out through the restaurant-arms and legs kicking everywhere - and Chris came bounding over and calmed him down , and gave him a little Christmas toy. He went out of his way to help and provided the best customer service I've ever received - in addition to the fact that he was rushed off his feet it was so busy. I didn't want this exceptional customer service to go unnoticed and we will definitely be back soon. Thank you

Pizza Express was excellent, service was terrific, food was lovely My wife and I both had Lasagne and we were not disappointed, they were beautiful. Our granddaughters both had pizzas and neither said a word until both were finished. What really made it for me was our server, on the night he was attentive, approachable and pleasant.

This evening my family had booked a table for 7.30pm including 6 adults 2 infants and one child. For those who don't want the full story, let me begin by saying I will never return. The restaurant was less than half full and once having placed our orders we were met with an unruly wait for over 1 hour to be served our starters, (including 2 dough balls, 1 kids dough balls and 1 mushroom starter) being a chef myself I know this is far from a difficult task to complete. Furthermore, after finishing our main courses ( after another extensive wait) we were offered the dessert menus and advised what had sold out only to be told when trying to order that we were not allowed to order as it was passed 9.30pm and we had children present at the table. My son wasn't allowed to order his dessert which was included in a 3 course children's menu. (And most importantly was CHARGED FOR). Nevermind the fact that my son was extremely disappointed by this fact, as was I, when I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, only to be told repeatedly, "sorry about that". There was no offer of having anything removed from the bill to accompany this apology. I feel they may has well have put a boot to our behind on the way out the door. Overall to be made to wait excessive times for service and food, to then be thrown out before finishing a meal is beyond what I would rate as bad service and hospitality. I will not be returning to this venue and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a meal out with family. With the current cost of living crisis this was a very rare one off occasion, and I am bitterly disappointed by this experience. There are many other restaurants that are much more deserving of our hard earned wages.

We went on a Wednesday night, which seemed quiet, too quiet obviously, because after our starter we were forgotten about. 30-40mins later the waitress noticed we were still sitting (we didn't mind too much, since we were talking) and then 10mins later our pizzas came. The decor is nice. Ten years ago a Pollo Ad Astra was £9.99 and now it's £15.95 . This is £3 more than it should be, accounting for inflation . (Source Bank of England inflation calculator) .

Service is disappointingly slow. We felt that our take was forgotten about But the food was enjoyed by everyone

Side portions were a joke, food was just ok put expected more for the price. Much better elsewhere.

Absolutely awful pizza was terrible fell apart not much cheese on ordered extra mushroom on half of it they charged me full extra portion it was spot the mushroom competition potato garlic and herb was grim soggy plus the service was terrible never came near us once to see if everything was OK 🙈

Ordered online, over £50 paid. Order for someone else who lives 5 miles away arrived(probably worth £20). Cannot get through to the restaurant on the phone! Sent back to restaurant. Never order again!

Horrible customer service. Food good as usual but the staff really need some education on how to speak to customers. Friend ended up going into anaphylactic shock though because they completely ignored her allergies

Had another nice meal for our grandson's second birthday. It's reassuring that our granddaughter can get a gluten free meal without any fuss, while the rest of us enjoyed pizzas, salads and pasta.

Pizza was very nice but apparently you aren’t able to remove onions from a sloppy Giuseppe pizza when it is a topping which is very strange so I had to take them off myself.

A great experience for a family meal out. I’ve been to other pizza express but I have to say this one seemed really well ran and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Staff love to ignore waiting food drivers yet tell you to wait at entrance until they've dealt with the customers. Other than that, the food usually takes too long to be served.

My family and I come here nearly every time I visit. The food is always good. The Carbonara is a fave as well as the BBQ Pizza.

The food is pretty consistent here, it came out fast and there is a good variety for kids as well. The music was a little loud but overall we'll come back again. Staff are great and very attentive.

Unbelievably slow and poor service. Food was grand when it eventually arrived. Had to chase EVERYTHING. Ordered second round of drinks…. Never arrived. Empty tables all around but staff couldn’t keep on top of things. Won’t be rushing back.

Love pizza express, service can be a little slow but they’re always busy and obviously everything made fresh. The pizzas are fab, great range of drinks etc and the atmosphere is lovely.

Ordered two large pizzas this evening for take out. Told to wait up to an hour. Came back to collect the pizza. After taking it home, when I opens the boxes. Pizzas super thin and all burnt around the edges. Very poor. You can buy better pizza in Tesco. Won’t return or recommend this place ever.

Although it was very busy we did not have to wait long for our orders. Staff were very pleasant and food tasty. Maybe a bit expensive but worth it.

We took our 5 year old granddaughter here for her birthday tea along with the rest of the family. She has several food intolerances but ordering a gluten free meal for her along with the choices for everyone else could not have been easier. The staff were very attentive and efficient and earned their tip for helping to make the meal very enjoyable.

Made a £90 order with yourself, we tried to contact to find out what was going on and when to expect delivery and you had your phones going to voice mail. Our driver had been waiting 30 minutes at the restaurant and has said you were too busy for the order. Now I'm trying to get a refund on food that's not been delivered and we aren't able to get one. If you couldn't fulfil the order don't accept it or return the money. Absolutely horrible service. No answers from you at all

I booked online and dined in the restaurant; I ordered 2 pizzas for two adults and one small for a child. The adult pizzas were cold and very dry when they arrived. Americana Hot was not even spicy. Some of my veg was overcooked and not nice. It was very disappointing as I used to be a regular at Pizza Express. Some staff tried their best though but the food was not tasty at all. Will not be back again. Not worth the money.

Poor tonight unfortunately. When you arrive having booked a table to find several tables remain uncleared let alone ready its not a good start. First up, we had to request ice with our soft drinks only to be told the ice machine wasnt working, a constant issue on previous customer reviews which the management team have failed to address. This is basic stuff. Next, having ordered and a wait of 40 minutes, the restaurant wasnt busy, our 5 meals arrived, a meat pizza with a very minimal amount of meat and 5 bits of pepper, some lasagnes with virtually no meat at all. When a lasagne is served in a bowl, its a clear sign its a pre made glorified ding dinner, this resembled a £1.00 dish from Iceland and fell way short of its £15 price tag. No garnish, no side, no effort and not good value for money. We also witnessed customers being turned away at the door despite the place only half full. On reading previous reviews the same issues keep popping up. On each occasion the mgmt responds that various diner's concerns will be addressed, but clearly they are being ignored and repeat again. So £110 lighter, way over priced for some fairly basic food. The choice of eating houses in Ballyhack is vast, sadly we made the wrong choice this time.

In a word EXPENSIVE… three of us went for a quick meal before going out …. Two starters three pizzas 2 beer and one glass of red .. over £100…. For goodness sake …. This is a Pizza place not a 4/5 star restaurant! Need to revise their Prices they’re Ridicules !

The pizzas were worse than the Lisburn Rd branch. I ordered the free doughballs and checked if it was ok to pay with clubcard vouchers. I was told it was but when it came time to pay the bill was told that I would have to pay for the doughballs if I wanted to pay with clubcard vouchers.

I found the service to be very good and the staff to be very attentive.

Almost £40 for a freezing cold and entirely burnt meal and a cold hard tasteless brownie, called to ask for replacement pizza but they refused and told me to contact Uber eats, absolute rip off for the rubbish they send out obviously have no zero respect to their customers.

myself and the wife ordered our meal . it took ages to come . the starter was gorgeous. the main course was look warm pizza and burnt round the edges it was lookwarm and was like cardboard. was sent back a fresh one was made up . tasted lovely . will be back ......

We went here for my husbands birthday. Disaster. We were there at 7 (2 adults 3 kids) and had a table booked and she looked round the place and gave us a booth with a chair at the end and it wasn't big enough so we had to ask to be moved when a table became free. If you book a table, it should be sitting waiting for you when you get there. Ordered our food. By 8 we were still waiting on starters. I asked about it and they had forgotten them. They made them and took them off the bill. When we ordered desert I asked for an espresso martini. Everyone got their stuff except me. I had to ask for it and they had run out of ice and the girl didn't know how to make it so she had to take it off the bill too. Never going back. There didn't look to be a manager of any sort either. All mostly very young staff. No-one ever approached us, we always had to ask for the service.

Disorganised, poor food, no chef (manager having help in kitchen) staff doing their best but nowhere near usual pizza express standard. Very very disappointing. Food close to inedible.

Went tonight 5.15 Friday September 30. The restaurant was relatively quiet. There were 3 adults and 2 children. 2 adults ordered the starter of Chilli King Prawns in a salsa. They were shrimps absolutely tiny( 2 of them) in a warm insipid salsa. When we told the waitress how bad it was she replied " I don't cook and we get lot of complaints about that dish. The pizzas were ok but no one seemed to be in charge. I personally won't return. The meal cost over £100 Very poor value

Only 2 waitresses and possibly 2 cooking. It took far to long before starters and again another long wait for pizzas. Thought there also could have been more substantial toppings for the price. Quite disappointing. Won't rush back.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great pizza, however service can be slow, not just on this visit. After 90 minutes we only had our starters. Bizarrely they had also run out of all their salads and a couple of their popular pizzas.

Terrible and disappointing experience. Told that only bookings were allowed in even though there were 7 tables free at that time. My wife asked if she could book there and then, and the waitress said she could, but then flippantly said even if we booked and got in, we could wait a very long time as the chef was leaving at 7pm and a trainee chef was taking over. Her words exactly were, "You could be waiting a very long time for your order." We decided to wait at a table and all the staff were milling about at the back and no-one even came near us not even to see if we may want a drink. We decided to leave and go into Belfast Victoria mall and go to the Pizza Express there as we needed to use our Vouchers. There were 4 gentlemen that were ahead of us and they were turned away and two young woman also turned away, do the maths. I did see that there were a lot of Just Eat bags leaving the premises , which suggests to me this Pizza Express has bitten more than it can chew. My suggestion is do NOT waste your time going to this Pizza Express!!! This is the 2nd time with terrible customer service. Last time we went there with the family we were told we could not order desserts because they were cleaning up to close even though there were other tables waiting for their food. You have been warned.

Lovely restaurant, food absolutely amazing. Service is a wee bit slow but friendly servers. We also use our tesco clubcard tokens which makes it much better too. We always go and it's a very good place to go.

Always very busy especially over the last few weeks.. disappointed we were not able to get a table so I booked this time and it was worth the wait, very tasty indeed!

Went here for lunch with 2 other adults and 2 kids. The service was horrendous worst service iv had. The restaurant was not busy at all and the girl that was on by herself just looked like she didn't want to be there. She showed us to our table then took off and didn't come anywere near our direction for a good 15mins. She didnt offer us any drinks or a highchair and we had a small child as she was no were to be seen i had to go get a highchair myself. I also had to call her over and ask her to take our order eventually.Only for tesco vouchers i don't think we would be back.

We used our Tesco loyalty card tokens. The three different pizzas we ordered were very nice. The service was mostly excellent. My so went to remind service of our deserts, but I think they wouldn't have forgotten and were just a bit slow. Overall, positive experience.

Waited 3/4 hour on our pizza and were made to feel we were being ridiculous for asking what the delay was. No apologies or explanations. Not ideal with a 2 year old! Spoiled what should have been a rare treat. Really regret not going to Green's just up the road. We will next time!

Pizza is excellent as expected from pizza express standard, but unfortunately table service is absolutely awful bad. Not only service from front of house very slow, the staff concentrating chatting and leaving customers trying to grab their attention…

Went here tonight as it was a family tradition to celebrate birthdays. Usually a great experience. But not tonight. Food was spot on but awful service, served with attitude, priority given to deliveroo ( or Just Eats) orders over paying customers and general chaos in the kitchen (order was "misplaced"). I'm guessing it must be under new management or else things have gone seriously downhill. I get that they were understaffed, but don't take it out on the customers.

I made a silly mistake and ordered the wrong pizza. I then left a rant messsge about getting the pizza I ordered. The staff in Ballyhackamore could not have been nicer. Gave me a new pizza and were lovely. My bad 😞 but well done them for gracious response (ordering on line not very easy though).

Came here last night for a meal with my partner for valentines. We were pleasantly suprised with how fast the service was for it being a busy night with valentines. I got the calamari for starters and the pollo pesto pasta for main and both were delicious and could not be faulted! Friendly staff and great food.

Would love the place if the food was warm. My boyfriend and I order from here all the time and I don’t know why, becuase everytime it comes to us it’s cold. I’m not sure if that’s on deliveroos part or not but we don’t live far from it anyway. Everytime we order it gets worse and worse and we have to heat it up everytime. Tonight we just got very strange looking dough balls that looked like they were picked out from a bad bunch. However they were still very tasty

Lovely food, and really friendly staff. One downside though... for a pizza shop, they couldn't provide us with a pizza cutter, we had to use a knife becausethey were all being washed. But the food was worth it! Will be back again... maybe with our own cutter 🤣

Probably the worst dining experience I've had anywhere. Went for my kids birthday as they insisted on pizza express and express it was most certainly not. When we arrived we were the only customers in the restaurant and despite this the staff who were more interested in gossiping wouldn't take our order for 15 minutes. After we finally placed our order it took over 50 minutes for the food to arrive and what was served was burnt and incredibly salty "pizza". The base was black, acrid and bitter. The pizza was served uncut and after 10 minutes of trying to get the attention of a waiter I finally asked for a pizza cutter to be told "they're in the wash at the moment and not available". I asked for chilli oil and cheese both took too long and no spoon given so made it akward. There was a young chap in for an interview and I sincerely hope he's applying for a general manager position because the management of this location is atrocious. Staff walking around with face masks around their chin rather than on their face if they even bothered to wear them at all as many didn't. £46 on substandard over salted food. Incredibly disappointed.

terrible staff that couldnt care even if u paid them to care. went twice the 2nd time to get the food we paid for the 1st time but never recieved. we were also refused service the previous day by them telling us that they were not busy so they closed the kitchen and kids were not allowed after 9 pm and it was 8.45. the food was bad. over cooked / reheated. i know the menu well as my kids like the same place serving same menu in blanchardstown shopping centre. where service is very good and food excellent. i just cant believe people can be so rude, indifferent and not even know the menu 🙈...

Every pizza express tastes exactly the same (which is unreal) so hard to differentiate based on that. Hard to get staff attention at times but that's a product of COVID reopening I think, so all round top marks.

I noticed two free table's outside in the sun at 4:30 pm today Sunday the 20th of June. So I sat down at one and waited. Ten minutes later when no one had come out I went inside and asked if I could get a menu for the table outside. "We are not actually serving outside today." Was the response.

I visited Pizza Express this evening with 5 members of my family.2 gluten free,1 severe nut allergy and 1 in a wheelchair.All diets were catered for,wheelchair access to table and bathroom were excellent,staff listened well whilst taking order,food came out correct and was first class.Well done pizza express and staff-you could teach a lot of 5* restaurants how it’s done!! Really disappointed at the shortened menu. Unable to order the wholemeal pizza was a bit of a let down. We called in for dinner, pizza each £24 for 2 pizzas with the eat out to help out discount, a little expensive I thought

Honestly, it felt like Christmas had come early when Pizza Express, surely the best of the many nationwide Pizzerias available, finally reopened its doors after a lockdown longer than most restaurants, and how lovely to be welcomed by Michaela and Ross like old friends. We were delighted that most of our favourites were still on the menu, along with a few new ones, but old habits die hard and we ordered a bottle of Nero d’avola, with some marinated olives and slow roasted tomatoes while we made our choices. For starters we had dough balls, bruschetta originale, calamari, and the new king prawn dish in a spicy garlic sauce. The prawns were lovely, but perhaps the sauce could have had more of a kick. A variety of pizzas were ordered for mains, and we decided to try the new Vegan Mezze on a thin and crispy Romana base. Now as I’m sure you know, we’re not actually vegan so we asked for additional Mozzarella, but it would be equally delicious without as it’s packed full of flavour due to the roasted aubergine, peppadew chillis and lashings of houmous. We were disappointed that the Dolcetti (mini desserts accompanied by tea or coffee) are not currently on the menu, but we were tempted by the tiramisu and the honeycomb cream slice. Great to see you back, Pizza Express.

For a place that has specialises in pizza Your pizzas aren't the best and it's a shame you shortened the menu during the virus, now your like any other take away.

Waitress didn't write the down order then got it wrong. Some of the food was cold too and had to be sent back. Real disappointing as this pizza express used to be great.

I’ve never got food from this pizza express and been disappointed. It’s one of the few pizza places that do great vegan options. Bit pricey but worth it for a treat. Waiting impatiently for this pizza express to reopen.

Disappointing....waited to be seated, then waited for menus, waited again for order to be taken - all while staff chatting in corner. Slow service and luke warm pizzas. Not at all customer focussed. Recommend other branches!
