Still good! The new "Romana" thin crust pizza's are truly excellent, tasty, and well stacked. I really enjoyed the "Spicy Guiseppe"! Good service, nice ambience. Looking forward to sitting under the tarapaulin cover outside in the courtyard, on a warmer day perhaps!

I visited for an early dinner with my baby and friend, the staff were friendly and we were seated quickly with no booking (the restaurant was empty) I ordered the Leggera pizza which I have had before granted it was years ago but I couldn’t believe how the portion size had changed. I would say the pizza was smaller than a dinner plate in diameter and 2 inches wide so once cut we’re bite size pieces with some salad leaves in the middle drenched in salad dressing no onion or tomato in the salad just the leaves. Very disappointing considering the price increase.

Don’t bother eating here anymore. Service was appalling and the meals don’t reflect the menu description. Price hike and smaller portions. Pizza Express clearly has a problem with staffing numbers. Inadequately resourced!

My pal and I usually choose a Pizza Express to meet in as we both love the food. The vegan offerings are great, such a selection to choose from! Always leave full to brimming and vowing to eat the salad next visit, never do! Lovely staff and ambience.

We visited this restaurant early one Saturday evening. Arrival seemed all okay, we ordered easily and the children's starters arrived no problem. However, things started to go wrong when a waitress cleared the children's starter plates away before they'd finished. Very swiftly thereafter the adult mains arrived, but no sign of the children's. We saw the children's food ready at the kitchen where it sat, ignored by the waiting staff for a good ten minutes. Only on approaching the kitchen myself did it get brought to the table. It was stone cold. Our trips to pizza express are for the children, as I'm sure others can relate. Bringing children's food so long after adults, and stone cold is unacceptable. The waitress was apologetic, but with so many staff there why they couldn't undertake the basic task of serving food at a restaurant escapes me. The bill took forever and the meals were still on there when we'd been assured they would be removed. Very very disappointing. This Pizza Express has gone downhill and we will not be returning. Visit the welwyn one instead - the manager there is very good and goes above and beyond for children. Avoid Hertford at all costs.

Another new owner, same problems. Very narrow minded. Must stick to the menu even if you want a minor change. The chef is there for 9 years and knows exactly what and how I like the food and he’s very talented but his hands are literally tied by the very unpleasant owner and (some) of his staff. First time EVER that I haven’t left a tip. Usually leave at least 15% tip

This review is not aimed directly at the serving staff in the restaurant. However there is a clear problem with the relatively new management in this branch. Firstly, the restaurant no longer let you bring pushchairs to the tables. With young babies under 1, this is totally inconvenient and not really acceptable. The manager is clear to highlight what you cannot do, but does not help or suggest what the solution is. They further inhibit and prevent proper wheelchair or pushchair access by only opening one panel of the glass front door and get huffy if you ask them to open it up fully. It's a passive way of basically saying we're no longer child friendly, or at least to those in wheelchairs. The restaurant expect you to leave pushchairs in the entrance area which is exposed and open to the street and left unattended so could leave open to theft. The second problem and new change, is that in order to boost sales, they have put too many tables in the restaurant. Tables too close together which is uncomfortable. At the back, there is a ramped walkway to the rear seating area. They've crammed so many tables in, if you get the cheap seats near this ramp, you basically get knocked by any customer or member of waiting staff as they pass you. Overall will now avoid this branch which is disappointing as it's our local.

Four of us popped in here around 8.30 Friday evening! Place was busy but managed to squeeze us in! Lovely waiter service… sat round the corner from the main bar. Starters and mains were simply delicious with no problems! Absolutely loved our visit here and highly recommend ☺️

Best Pizza Express service I’ve seen: showed up on a busy Saturday around 6pm with over a dozen musician colleagues…they quickly assessed the situation (we needed to eat and get outta there pronto). They opened up a large back room for us and fed us all in record time. Excellent service and tasty pizza — including gluten free for those who needed it.

My experience at pizza express wasn't very welcoming on two occasions , it was clear there's hardly no staff against customers. It appears they had run out of alot stuff when asking on both experiences, also witnessed bookings being turned down with over an hour to go before closing time. I got the impression no one wanted to be there at all.

The staff here are so rude. They messed up a deliveroo order. Blamed deliveroo and wouldn’t listen when I tried to explain. The person I spoke to on the phone had an attitude instantly and the manager who came on the phone afterwards had no people skills whatsoever and added fuel to the fire rather than pacify the situation. I have never had a good experience with this branch and this just added to a list of grievances. Avoid at all costs.

Had a great experience in this Pizza express branch Kevin made my night with his charming customer service and left us all with a smile. Food was impeccable and everything was very clean. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Will be returning soon!!

Came down to Hertford to see some family and was greeted instantly asked where we wanted to sit and served by the manager who spent time explaining the new reward programme and he was such a great guy who clearly loves his job

the staff in this pizza express seem to really care about customers as the are all wearing face masks when they don't have to. our waiter Sam was so brilliant he was patient and made us feel so welcome. happy christmas and thank you

Went here for lunch before heading to the theatre in the late afternoon. Service was good as was the food. Was placed at the back of the venue which was spacious and away from the busy part. Waitress was friendly and always enjoy coming here when coming to Hertford!

Came here midweek with two colleagues, had a lovely starter and a beautiful pizza for mains, small desert was tasty but coffee was cold and had to be sent back.Service was excellent and food arrived in good time with a just about right waiting Time between courses.Restaurant was warm but was generally very clean and hygienic.Price was reasonable.

What can I say.....we went for family meal with my brother and his family so 4 adults 4 children and from the start there was mess and dirt everywhere the menus were filthy the floor had lettuce and various other objects all over it.....then onto the service which at first looked to eclipse the mess however.....our drinks order and food order were taken and they forgot a drink (mine to be precise) then the food came out and they forgot a starter, then the mains came out some of it under cooked and they forgot a main and yes you be guessed it when the deserts came out they messed that up too!!Very little in the way of an apology and the manager was ignorant of the fact his restaurant looked like crap!!!We have now discovered that Ask Italian and Prezzo both accept Tesco vouchers so we will use them from now on!!!Please fix this issue or you will run out of customers!!

Fue un día fuera encantadora y hubiera sido agradable para sentarse en la zona al aire libre, pero nos dijeron que nadie más estaba permitido fumar allí, ya que era demasiado ocupados fuera, así que tuvimos que sentarnos adentro. Pedimos nuestra comida y tuve que esperar mucho tiempo para los entrantes. No sé si estaban cortos de personal esa noche, pero sin duda saber que había un número de mesas gratis, así que el restaurante no era completo. Aún así, cuando finalmente conseguimos nuestra comida, era muy agradable.La señora que nos servía era agradable y amable para nuestros hijos. Tardaron más de lo que me hubiera gustado - mi hijo le molestasen y empezaron a ponerse de mal humor. Dicho esto, la comida era deliciosa, así que todos volveremos.

Visité el viernes por la noche con un amigo. Reservamos una mesa con antelación ya que sabemos que se puede llenar. A la llegada nos rápidamente llevaron a nuestra mesa. El servicio era bueno, sobre la velocidad adecuada para que pudiéramos hablar sin ir demasiado entre campos. La comida era buena y constante el mismo he venido a esperar de Pizza Express. Me gusta que usted puede elegir la base que quieras y no tienes que tener la pizza como se muestra en el menú. La comida es buena para el precio. Estoy seguro de que volveré.

I was delighted to experience a delicious Gluten Free pizza. It was pure luxury and something I had been craving for so many years! Beautiful base with a wide variety of toppings. Excellent service and great atmosphere.

Sunday afternoon. Beautiful hot weather and a Pizza Express courtyard lunch...Absolutely perfect......nearly..Our waiter was perfect.funny and chatty.The same could not be said of the chef....food was amazing but he made two wrong pizzas and one of them we had to wait ten minutes for.. again great food....nothing wrong at all apart from the mistake... drinks were servef quickly and corrrctly...Sincere apologies were made by our waiter and a manageress (possibly)VERDICT.....We will be going back

I love pizza express and this branch is one of the best, very attentive staff and the food is always top class. Lovely setting. I'll always travel from nazeing to eat in this branch.

Pizza Express Hertford could be a Pizza Express anywhere. Not really a lot to say as the food is of a decent quality as they all are.

Las otras dos veces no fueron mejores, esperar al menos 10 minutos para tomar una bebida y casi 40 minutos para las comidas principales, a pesar de que no estaba muy lleno. Normalmente no me revisión restaurantes, ya que no mucha gente va a leer. Pero con trabajar en la industria yo, puede ser útil para fines de entrenamiento.

We often visit Pizza Express when we can't be bothered to cook! The staff are always friendly and even when the place is busy, we have always been served quite quickly. The food is consistently good and although it can be full of children, as well as adults, there is a great atmosphere,

Love the Hertford branch, food is always so much better than other pizza expresses, we travel 25 miles to come to this branch but it's always worth it. No wonder they are so busy, would always recommend booking as even if we come on a Tuesday they are usually full. Great staff, lovely food, brilliant atmosphere, what's not to love?

We arrived Sunday 3rd Jan 2016 for a family get together... We used our taste card on 6 meals... We were told no tables until 8.30 pm which was fine as the children had no school until Tuesday. We walked in and said hi we have a table booked for 6 at 8.30pm... The manager greeted us with stressed looking face! we had an 8 year old daughter with us who wanted the child's menu and pencils, she gave us a tin of crayons and pencils I mentioned do you have a sharpener as most were blunt! Her reply was .. We sharpened them this morning! Gosh!! She took us to our table said nothing and put the menus down on the table, our waitress was so lovely Casey! She politely said may I take your drink order, and she did, I ordered pasta she said sorry were you not told there is not pasta? No I said...I said what do you have? Salad and pizza! Great we will have pizza then.My father in law asked for a pint of larger they turned up with a half, he said sorry I ordered a pint Casey said sorry we don't have any pint glasses clean as we have a large party in.I was about to pour my wine when.. Gosh the glass was not clean... My son said daddy can drink my lemonade from the bottle.. I said son we will ask for clean glasses. As we say we could see the chefs cooking and tossing pizza which was fun to watch... One chef dropped some pizza dough, picked it up carried on tossing it, wow I thought really! He then dropped it again and finally threw it in the bin I presume. Chefs seems happy which was good to see.We ate and the food seemed very nice it seems this pace has a managerial problem and cleanliness issues. May be understaffed I'm not sure.My son went to the toilets said daddy there is water everywhere and it's disgusting! We mentioned to the manager she said we checked the toilets at 6pm... This was now 9pm.After our meal we asked to speak to the manager, who was the assistant manager Perry which was fine she seemed to make many excuses up most probably because she had not been trained in cleanliness and checking the cutlery and glasses, I mentioned this I said I told casey about my wine glass she said sorry I'll change this, we spoke and discussed the whole evening for 15 minutes, I said to Perry about the wine glass did casey tell you the glass and cutlery were not clean? No she said I then mentioned how can this be rectified in future. Perry was faulty young pleasant actually and only been here 6 weeks and was calm but some simple things to make our experience better could have been achieved. She mentioned she will speak to the manger this evening and try and take onboard our complaints. Food lovely Cleanliness shockingWaitress polite and efficientWould I come back? Yes in 2 weeks to see if it improves.

Table for 4 adults and 1 young person. Service was fast enough and drinks and dough balls were quickly served too. BUT two of the pizzas were less than hot. Too hungry to complain but really there is no excuse for this hence the average rating.

Firstly the waitress was great, efficient, on the ball etc. Alas that was all that was remotely impressive really. I ordered a Romana (the thinner larger pizza range that goes well above £10 now which is shocking I think) with Aubergines etc. It was almost uneatable because of the disproportionate amount of Chili flakes put all over it (it completely wiped out the other flavours), plus it was burnt to charcoal at the edges, as I noticed many other customers pizzas were also that day. So I paid the best part of £12 for rubbish basically that I had to leave because of the ridiculous amount of Chilli on it. I had to squint to see the cheese also, and wished Id gone for the smaller and cheaper (but still daft for what it is) pizza my friend had. Pizza Express used to be more reliable, better value and if they put a decent amount of toppings on the Romana's it might appeal more. I've noticed that they put proportionally less toppings if anything on the more expensive bigger pizzas over several visits now. Its also too cramped and noisy with dreadful acoustics. Had a similar experience at the Enfield branch recently so am taking the chain off my favourites list for now.

Collected a takeaway from an online order tonight. Got home and the pizzas and garlic bread were cold, phoned restaurant to complain they didn't seem interested in my complaint she said that there are holes in the boxes and it's really cold weather. Pizza all burnt round the edges and they were as thin as tracing paper, awful, tried heating them in oven just made them drier, won't be visiting here again. The waitress is phoning me back tonight or tomorrow morning!

Went at 17:30 as a family group of 6 adults and four children for a double birthday celebration. Told the server we wanted to be quick because of the children. After ordering we had a long wait for the food and the children were obviously getting fed up. The "chef" for some reason forgot what ingredients were supposed to be on the pizza. Out of six pizzas five had missing ingredients! The manager offered to add the missing ingredients or adjust the bill, we settled on the latter as we had been in there nearly two hours.Very disappointing experience and a spoilt celebration.

We usually dine in Hertford, and usually with these chains you know what to expect. But I just couldn't believe how scruffy the staff were. I think the supervisor on duty actually had an issue with his trousers, as his underpants were always showing where his trousers kept coming down and his shirt was hanging out. Then all other staff in ripped jeans and trainers with dirty socks. Food is pretty standard as to expect. But presentation needs to be worked on.

Was due to meet friends for a meal this evening in Loch Fein, decided to meet up after for a few drinks as my wife loves "Pzza Express", walked in the entrance...waited to be seated, waitress walked past...smiled and said that she "would be with us in a moment"before she returned someone who I ASSUME to be the manage approached my wife and I and informed us both that there were "NO TABLES AVAILABLE" (WE COUNTED 5 VACANT TABLES IN THE IMMEDIATE ENTRANCE AREA, AND A FURTHER 6 TABLES EMPTY OUT TOWARDS THE OUTDOOR SEATED AREA TOWARDS THE REAR)Obviously didnt feel the need to point out the "obvious" to this "bearded" individual that there were ample tables/seating available, We ALWAYS tip well, (even in "fast food" restaurants such as the above mentioned)But will never grace the entrance of this "Pasta Parlour" again.....wife was a bit embarrassed with the whole situation.Terrible customer service, will go out of my way in future to deter friends and clients from attending these premises

I had the Superfood salad with chicken, it was delicious and a great portion for a salad. Always reliable but it can get a bit noisy.

Nice restaurant which is to be expected of pizza express. The food was good with well cooked pizza's, all was very tasty.....a bit like our waiter.......Enjoyed the visit, best to book as it was busy and visit after 7.30 if you are allergic to children!

Traditionally served food by efficient staff but its quite small and you need to book if you really want to eat here.

I like it for its choices and particularly as my husband will always agree to eat there! Without fail, he will ask what cheeses they have, used to be 4 different types, but now only 3, so he has a cheese pizza topped with mushrooms, then he smothers, or drenches it with chilli oil! Loves it! I usually choose something different each visit. We love their dough balls too. We go when its not busy, the staff are courteous and kind, the place is clean and inviting

At last , veggie lasagne ! Along with other new veggie options .Staff at Hertford are always so friendly and efficient but menu used to be a little limited for gluten free vegetarians . No longer . Lovely fresh food cooked in front of your eyes .Shall be visiting more often now
