Pizza Express in East Hertfordshire

Hosted my daughter’s 8th Birthday party here. It was a pizza-making party for 24 children. Daniele was very accommodating from start to finish. He communicated well prior to the party and told us what we needed to know. The venue has a space at the back which is very roomy and my daughter and her friends had a lovely memorable day. Thank you Franco Manca Bishop’s Stortford, I would definitely recommend this spot for hosting parties.

Best gluten free dairy free pizza I've ever had!

A wonderful Sunday afternoon spent at Franco Manca Bishop’s Stortford. I’ve been to many Franco Mancas but this one had a particularly relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and I have to say, a massive thanks to Isey who served us - she was amazing! She was so personable and charming and made sure we had the best time. She also got us to try their new (very indulgent!) Nutella and pistachio desert which was 10/10! ✨

Great night celebrating my mums birthday. From the food to the service. Isabell made sure we were well looked after. Always available for everything we needed. Thanks again.

Unfortunately I am still sat in this restaurant after 2 and a half hours, I am not against franco manca but this restaurant should close. We waited almost 2 hours for our food and would you believe it we only got half our order, Wagamama style, we were then told for the next 20 minutes that the other two pizzas are on there way. All the while hundreds of deliveries went out the door, it took a long time to get so much of an apology after anyone. Overall give it a miss, go to petruccis. Feel sorry for the staff cause the management is so bloody awful.

They ignore deliveroo orders for 1hr 45mins and when you call to chase, tell you to wait until the resturant has emptied out. I suggest you stop offering deliveries during peak times or increase staff on shift accordingly. Poorly handled and easily avoided.

Had a great evening here celebrating with family. Could see the staff was short and under pressure as they was so busy and rushed off their feet however they still did it with smiles on their faces and went above and beyond to make it a great experience for us all. Will deffo be returning. The new manager is really friendly and welcoming, we didn’t have a booking but he had no trouble in finding us a table at short notice.

This place is an absolute disgrace. From the moment we walked in, it was clear the staff couldn't care less about their customers. They behaved as though we were an inconvenience, doing us a massive favor by even acknowledging us. The level of disinterest was shocking. To top it off, the place was filthy—we had to clean our glasses with tissues just to see through them. It was disgusting. The service? A complete joke. We waited a painful two hours for one bite, a pizza, and a dessert. TWO HOURS! And as if that wasn’t bad enough, one person in our group has a nut allergy. When the antipasto was served, they made zero effort to offer a replacement for them—just utterly careless and unacceptable. The food itself was atrocious. Bland, tasteless, and an insult to anyone paying for it. There wasn’t a single redeeming feature about anything we ate. But here’s the cherry on this disaster of a meal: we ordered Cokes and still water, which were brought to the table in their “original” bottles—but the bottles had already been opened. The Coke tasted like some cheap, flat refill, and the so-called Aqua Panna water? Pure tap water. Honestly, this place is an insult to the hospitality industry. Filthy, slow, and serving 'something' they have the nerve to call food. Save yourself the misery and go literally anywhere else.

Dined in the restaurant a few times always a nice atmosphere and the service is really good. Also collected a few orders to eat at home and the only thing I can say is the pizza does lose its temperature quickly but a warm through at home in the oven doesn’t take very long, and still the pizza tastes good.

Food arrived absolutely stone cold. If you’re going to send a ‘driver’ on a push bike, maybe make sure the food actually arrives hot?

I popped in for dinner with my children after school. I was in a rush and our waitress Isabelle was just lovely and super helpful. She did her best to get our food out on time and delivered a great service. Pizza was delicious. Thank you.

The sourdough pizzas here are incredible crispy, flavorful, and always fresh! The staff is friendly and efficient, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The pizzas and tiramisu are must-tries. It’s a cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal. Highly recommend, especially for vegetarians as the menu has plenty of great options! I decided to try Franco Manca out after a good friend had recommended it. Finding good gluten free pizza is not easy, and when you do it's often not great. I was so surprised by this venue, the staff where welcoming and friendly (special mention of Isabella, she was lovely), and the food was great, including the dessert! All said and done, it was a very reasonably priced evening meal in a great atmosphere with wonderful food - thank you.

Lovely Pizza restaurant. We are in agreement with my wife that this was most likely the nicest pizzas we've had. Super fresh premium toppings. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning

If you know, you know. High quality Italian ingredients, easily the best dough around and all at a price that frankly could be higher! Daniella and the team are always helpful, passionate about what they do and great with Kids. There’s only one Pizza spot for us!

Frank was a wonderful server. We felt so cared for and the food was lovely. Felt like a special treat because of how attentive they were thank you!

Really lovely staff and very good service. This used to be our go to pizza place, because they offered gluten free crust, and while they are clear they can't avoid cross contamination we've never had issues. Unfortunately, the last two times we've watched the pizzas prepared from the table and seen zero effort to keep the gluten free crust separate-- this time they set the crust directly in flour. Especially considering the increases cost and the increased "gluten free fee", it's just not a great place for us to visit anymore. It's a shame because we really do like the staff and have always considered Franco Manca here in Stortford a go-to for a last minute family dinner. My parents' pizzas were still fantastic and we really do get great service, but we are disappointed in the cavalier and expensive approach to dietary restrictions.

Food and drink excellent as always. Tried their Tiramisu for the first time rather lovely and homemade. Lived in Italy for 2 years and do rate Franco Manca. Service was very good and looked after by Alessia who I could recall my Italian with It was late afternoon and very few customers so I've marked down the atmosphere.

Went here after picking up my partner at Heathrow. The manager was lovely and also very accommodating even though we came in within an hour of closing, also helps that the food was delicious!

The best italian (Napolitan) pizza in Bishop Stortford hands down. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Average Uk pizza price.

Gennaro - 5* !!! We organised a Pizza Party at Franco Manca in Bishop’s Stortford for daughter’s 4th birthday and 15 of her friends. What a fantastic time they all had, with firstly a pizza making masterclass by the brilliant chef Gennaro; making the dough for their pizzas and then adding their own toppings. Gennaro was brilliant throughout, really engaging and patient with all the children. Would definitely recommend for a children’s party - thank you!!

Firstly to say that our waiter was great, and appreciate it was a busy day, I think they even knew it was bad as they applied discount without us evening mentioning. The manager was SO stressed and flustered and short with her team that it just made for a very strange atmosphere and one customers should not be aware of. If you are in a front of house position, I wouldn’t expect to get that stressed over a busy service and to show frustrations to paying guests. Food was poor quality and so expensive. Need to modernise…there should be the option for a dad to change their babies nappy and to not have the only changing table in the female toilets!

Delicious sourdough pizza. Everything is made to order, super thin pizza nice and crispy, oven baked. Isabelle was delightful. Just here for a quick visit, but if I lived here I'd definitely be back. They also have a rewards program. And some specials. Picture of my leftovers because everything was so good I couldn't just leave it. But my husband and I ordered our own pizza.

Fantastic service and really kind staff. I fell asleep on the train and they had shut by the time I got back to Stortford. They promised to make me another pizza the next day and did. Really kind and really thoughtful and obviously the pizza was delicious! Would massively recommend as Franco Manca has the best priced and best pizzas in town with amazing staff too

Slipping in our estimation after being a go to for us for over 10 years. Staff are always nice and the food is good with a reliable pizza compared to the competition overall. I would have to say its noticeable that corners are being cut to reduce costs but it is affecting the product. Thinner pizzas than ever before and toppings scarcely sufficient. The toppings seem micro shredded to go further and I was left with a lingering taste in my mouth so I can only think that flavour enhancers and additives are being used rather than fresh ingredients. I dont feel I'm getting value for with the prices being asked so we only go when we have vouchers to spend nowadays.
