Pizza Express - Epsom in Epsom and Ewell

We attended a birthday party here on last Sunday. The staff are good and friendly. The party was amazing too!

Went to the restaurant last night at 930pm and was told we're closed, online it says 10pm

Ordered online though Uber eats .. absolutely trash quality plus they came very dry and overcooked.

The food is very expensive for what you get, so we only go when we have vouchers. Saying that the food does taste good, although the hot and spicy dishes do tend to be nothing like as spicy as suggested. The staff are great and look after you.

I had a very bad experience in the restaurant today. I went in there with my family. We were given a table in the corner next to the working station which was quite noisy. We were served by a small man who was quite rude. We order 1 pizza, 1 calamari and 1 garlic bread with mozzarella when we finish ordering he said "is that it ?". With a frown on his face. After we finish we asked for the bill he did bring the bill but he left it on the table and didnt come back. We had to call another girl to make the payment. I will never go there again. I saw other reviews from the past saying the same thing about this man and with every review the manager has replied saying they were sorry and will investigate. But seems like nothing has been done about this issue. 0 stars from us.

Ordered food from here and after 2 hours it still hadn’t arrived, then it said it was delivered but it wasn’t. I never received my food. So now I’m hungry and angry and it’s gone 9pm and I’ve still not had dinner. Very very disappointed.

Good food however service is really poor. Male server was being very standoffish and unpleasant throughout the meal (23rd February Evening - 7pm booking)

Busy, congested, noisy....and all that's fine if the staff is warm. But they come across as overwhelmed. May be just my experience but Ask Italian is way good in service.

I ordered pizza online for delivery but they couldn’t find any driver to send my order, even after for 90 minutes!!!! Then, I called them and asked to cancel and refund my money. They refused and I’ve been told the PIZZA EXPRESS WEBSITE IS DIFFERENT COMPANY 😂😂😂 so do not trust Epsom pizza express as they are REALLY just utterly useless

Only came here when we discovered "Bill's" had closed but were pleased it had. I'm not overly keen on Pizza but the one I had was delicious and the "sweet pizza" dessert was lovely too. Service was friendly and prompt despite it being very busy. Would definitely eat here again.

I ordered 3 pizzas last night and was extremely disappointed. I paid £24 per customized pizza that had no taste to it , such a rip off.. needless to say that toppings were missing, and the list can go on. I will never order again neither dine in

Had a lovely meal out with my friends last night! Was looked after by the most lovely staff member! She was very attentive and super polite! Could see her working hard all night! Also nice to see a team that work well together and get along! Definitely returning!!

Placed an order at 6:45pm on deliveroo and it’s now 9pm and my pizza hasn’t arrived. If the restaurant is closed then they should notify deliveroo so that people can order elsewhere. Pizza express accepted the order and we’ve been waiting 2 hour +. Hungry and now nowhere is open

Great attentive staff, experienced pizza chefs and lovely friendly management. Best Pizza Express we know. We have been going for years, and plan to continue.

My friends and I arrived and we were sat down at our table it took 45mins for any waitress to acknowledge we were there and ask us what we wanted. We finally were serviced and our starters arrived shortly after. We had to ask for our drinks because they clearly had forgotten about them. Our food came about 20 mins later. Overall was a awful experience and won’t be returning

Visited pizza Express yesterday with my daughter her husband and 3 children, we were seated on the round table by the window, seats looked like they hadn’t been cleaned or wiped down in a long time, didn’t even want to sit down to be honest, we ordered some drinks, the first waitress was a lady with glasses, very professional and polite, but not much of a welcoming, we was then served by a little guy, very grumpy, Rude, no time for us at all, looked like he didn’t even want to be there, everything seemed to be a effort for him, my grandson ( aged 6 ) asked a him a question and he walked off before my grandson could even finish the question, ( so so rude ) and the service from him didn’t get no better from there on, my daughter and her husband were amazed by this, to be honest was one of the worst places I’ve ever taken my family to eat, even after paying the bill, no thank you or bye, no thanks for coming, he just walks off, Absolutely Terrible. Worst £100.00 I’ve ever spent. 0 ⭐️ I never like to leave negative feedback, I always like to praise and promote a business,( sorry guys ) not this time

I am waiting for delivery almost 2 hours despite I live 10 mins away from the restaurant. And they still preparing my order. I wish I knew that before never would order delivery.

Staff were friendly and food came as fast as can be expected with how busy it was for a Friday lunch. Adina was helpful and accommodated all our requests.

Food was delicious and late night visit was quiet.

What a great place to come for dinner. The staff are very helpful and super friendly! Sat right next to the kitchen I could see that the kitchen staff were well on it… The waitresses were just on fire to be honest, so on the ball 👍🏻 Me and my family come here a fair amount and will certainly be returning. Massive thanks to all the staff here (waitresses, cleaners, kitchen staff… Everyone)… see you soon.

We ate here for dinner. For my sister's birthday. The service was fantastic as a nice surprise at the end my sister got a brownie with a candle and the staff sang her happy birthday which was a nice bonus. Starters and food itself was great. I had a Vegan American Hot with dairy cheese. It was delicious. 5 stars from me and my sister.

Although it was bank holiday we had an amazing visit, great food and friendly staff!

The small older man who served me today was very rude to me, rolling his eyes and speaking in an aggressive tone. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Lovely atmosphere. Nice and quiet, lighting wasn't harsh or overly bright... Very comfy. Service was excellent and so was the food. edit: I appreciate the response to my review, but using the same few stock template replies on everyone's review makes them feel a bit insincere. Generic replies like "Thanks for your review" are fine, but when they all mention putting smiles on people's faces, it changes from standard, polite acknowledgement to hollow uncanny vibes. This is where something like GPT or Bard can really help. You generate responses specifically written for each review that will all be different and ironically create a better sense of a real person responding.

Just had a refit but unfortunately still the same poor service. I really do not understand why the front of house staff in Epsom are so unhappy and really should not be customer facing, The food was expected just served without a smile! The chefs on the other hand were always smiling. I’ve been to Cheam and Banstead and always had good service. It’s such a shame but there are pleanty of other pizza places with great service.

Recent visit was with work friends and it didn’t disappoint. Great atmosphere and excellent customer service. Would definitely be returning!

We were a big group but service was slow and uncoordinated. My husband ordered the king prawn pizza and it only had 6 prawns. When he complained they said that was the standard. Not good enough.

Superb food delivered by friendly and attentive staff. We had a table for three but noticed lone diners, couples and a huge table obviously celebrating a birthday. Easily accessible but the nearest car park is the Ashley Centre multi-storey.

You know what to expect at Pizza Express and this one in Epsom is well up to standard.

Pizza express in general has always been very good. First time I tried this branch with a group of friends and the service was poor. I never usually give bad reviews but I waited 45 minutes just for my first and only drink and was charged twice. We were in there an hour and a half before we even got out starters and two hours before the mains. Didn't seem to he enough staff on. Two front of house and two in the kitchen. Food wasn't as tasty as I remember. Used many branches on many occasions and overall as a brand my view is positive but not for epsom one. They seemed way more interested in filling out Uber eats and deliveroo orders than with customers dining in.

Me and my friends came to this restaurant and there was an older man serving us he was doing job until he started being verbally aggressive and rude for no reason. It was unprofessional and disgusting!!! NEED TO GET BETTER TRAINED STAFF.

Friendly and prompt service, but let down by tiny, cramped toilets with no door lock and no soap available. Most of the pizzas were fantastic, but the calabrese was the smallest I remember seeing, and the sausage on it was hard as rubber.

Very surprised, food and wine were excellent and service was good. Pleasantly surprised and as it's opposite Epsom Playhouse it was great. Will definitely go again.

Had a pizza with friends at lunchtime that was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional and we all really enjoyed what we chose. Will definitely call in again with my friends when I visit Epsom again.

Overall nice experience we had could night ago, staff were friendly and the food was lovely and filling.

Dough balls were Cooked enough to be toast balls.... Pizza was light on toppings, but a didn't complain so that's my bad, and I was in England rugby strip just after we'd beaten Italy and out waiter was Italian. So hopefully better next time.

My sister booked a family meal for 11 to celebrate my mums birthday this Friday gone for Saturday the 14th four groups of the family came from different locations as this was the closest PE. My family and I were there first to arrive, it was obvious that there wasn’t a large table set for us, my sister who booked it arrived next and on arrival we were told that there wasn’t a booking! The manager asked when she had booked it she replied yesterday lunch and had spoken to a man, the manger denied there was a man working and that we hadn’t booked! Can the manager please enlighten me to why four families travel without a booking to celebrate someone’s birthday? Did we do this to just waste our time?We paid to park in the Ashley centre to what waste money!!! No apology, no attempt to try to resolve the matter, just we are very busy you can wait an hour and a half or we can sit you on two different tables! There were no tables available that could have been pushed together so we would have been sat well apart. I cant understand how after Covid and all of the hospitality industry have been so prominent in telling us all how hard they have had it can simply mess this up and not resolve the issue! The curt attitude of the manager was appalling. I’m glad it wasn’t me that made the booking, I wouldn’t have been so polite,and before the manger denies we booked , please find attached the call register from my sisters phone on the Friday.Won’t be returning, which is a shame as its the most local to my mum’s, Prezzos it is! We then got a table at the Worcester Park branch who couldn’t have been more accommodating.

Don't go into the restaurants much and usually get a delivery, but it was really great. The food was super fresh and tasty, and service was spot on! The whole family enjoyed the visit.

As good or bad as any Pizza Express. I think if you go as a group, this is probably a great option.

Really disappointed- delivery pizza was undercooked with below par toppings yet the price has gone up and pizza size reduced. Won't be ordering again.

It's a nice Pizza Express, getting a bit cramped at times. Service was quicker this time.

I visited this restaurant with my family, there were 5 of us. The service was very good and quick and the staff were very friendly.

Resembled a children’s crèche than a restaurant. Kids parties, young kids with families screaming, scooters in the restaurant and we’re a young family but you couldn’t hear yourselves think the noise was unbearable - just awful. I’d suggest parties are put to the rear of the restaurant. Having 12 boys around 12 years old in the middle of the restaurant the noise impacted everyone. Great they had a good time but you need to think of your other customers. Then you’ve got babies & toddlers screaming! Honestly, it’s more like the old Pizza Hut - no ambience, definitely not relaxing and really expensive despite 40% offer. Staff lovely, food was tasty but definitely no desire to return.

30 mins before closing and refused service. I understand they wanted to go home but there should be a notice regarding last orders of that's the case. Maybe next time

Wouldn’t go to Epsom pizza express ever again. Banstead or Reigate are 100% better all round. First pizza was cold and staff made feel embarrassed for complaining. Second pizza was soggy, greasy and tasteless so only ate half as was starving Young female manager clearly lacks experience and wasn’t particularly apologetic or followed up whether we were happy with second pizza. Wasn’t asked if required further drinks or dessert. Paid £90 for 2 adults 2 children and left extremely disappointed by the whole experience. Normally leave 15-20% tip. Obviously didn’t tip on this occasion!

I liked the older menu a lot more. Everything is a bit samy on the current menu. I ordered a Caesar salad by default and a lot of the ingredients listed on the menu had not been added to my plate. It was a pretty lacklustre meal. The staff were however very quick to rectify this and were most apologetic but I feel this place has lost its mojo a bit.

A warm welcome and great service from all the staff. Food was really good and the vegan pizza menu with so much choice is always a treat. The pizza was excellent. Pizza Express is definitely a must if you are vegan or thinking of cutting down your meat intake.

I go to this branch because of my favorite Italian waiter there. The experience is always welcoming and this branch is more family orientated. I love it and my little italian waiter.

Sat down for some lunch with friends. our waitress was okay, although she did sit down and eat right in front of us. If your staff have a break, at least put another server on... Starters were average. Mains okay. I think the staff need some more enthusiasm when serving or just a smile!

Nice experience after lockdown.

I am regular and loyal customer of Pizza Express. Specially Epsom restaurant is special to me as I live locally. Monday late evening i went to the restaurant to place a take away order.normally there's two very kind female served me in many occasions but this occasion there was a middle age man on phone,soon as he finished I try to grave his attention "Hi"his answer was haven't finished but what do you want?you should wait until i get someone for you he continued. I left the restaurant immediately as i lost interest due to poor service. I may suggests this individual should not have any place.

So glad that they're open for takeaway during lockdown. Great pizza, as always.

£30 for 2 stone dead cold pizza’s. And at £30 you could’ve at least cut them in to slices?? Just 2 singular cold pieces of doe I have to heat up and cut up myself?! £30! Not to mention that the ingredients.. like ham, were 4 square inches big and 1 per slice, (this is after the slices were made by myself after delivery, in to 8 slices for a large fyi). literally almost choked. 1 olive per “slice”, not sliced (and all situated at the crust, not actually on the tomato base of the pizza at all). Literally looks like a child’s idea of how a pizza should be and that’s not an overstatement. I’d say apart from a few atrocious occasions from dominos, this is the worst pizza order I’ve ever had. Better off just going to Papa’s, Hut or somewhere else. If I could display the pictures I would, terrible. This is the delivery mind you, not the eat in service.

Food was of the usual high quality and value for money. We had the house pinot grigio which was a light and fresh white wine and accompanied our pizza and pasta well. We booked early in the evening so a little noisy with kids. Not many quieter more personal seating to avoid this, hence why the star rating was not 5

Food was delicious (best we have had from P.Express) & service was excellent. Staff were super friendly, efficient and they all had big smiles. Thank you, we loved our visit & loved feeling comfortable and relaxed in a great atmosphere.
