I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pizza Express and was blown away by the exceptional service I received from a team member named Daniel. From the moment I walked in, Daniel greeted me with a warm smile and welcoming attitude that immediately made me feel at ease. As I took my seat, Daniel promptly presented me with the menu and offered his recommendations. His knowledge of the dishes was impressive and he took the time to explain the ingredients and cooking techniques used in each pizza, making it easy for me to make an informed decision. Throughout my time there, Daniel checked in on me regularly, ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable and that my needs were met. His attentiveness and genuine care for his customers were truly commendable. While the pizza at Pizza Express is consistently good, it was Daniel's exceptional service that truly made our visit memorable. He transformed a standard dinner into a delightful experience, and we left feeling valued and impressed. Thanks to Daniel, we'll definitely be returning to Pizza Express, and we'll certainly be asking for him again! He's a true asset to the restaurant and a shining example of how good service can make all the difference.

Rude male waiter. I usually go to pizza express in many different locations in London, but do not recommend this one. Even though the place was not crowded, he acted like he hates his job and not welcoming to customers at all. Shame that one how one terrible employee can change everything.

We walked in here to eat. Was told we should have made a reservation. I can understand, but not if there are several tables empty. But can happen. We made a reservation on the spot for the next day. We arrive exactly on time, no one looks around. 3 people walk by and ask why we are waiting. The 4th doesn't even look at us and says she'll be right there. Then just walks away….

As a school (42 children and 6 adults), we went and the service was fantastic. They were quick, efficient, polite & organised. The food was fantastic and not a single piece was left. A child in the group had her birthday and the waiter (im not sure of his name but he was incredible!) kindly organised a slice of cake with a candle to make the experience a memory! Would absolutely visit again!

Overall a brilliant evening. Great food and drink, served quickly (but not rushed), in a lovely atmosphere. Due to the app rewards, we saved a huge amount of money too!

Well this place was always good , the food was as it should be, very taste and delicious. The waiter approached us right away, we were confused to what we had last time we visit the restaurant, and the waiter albi was very professional he knew the menu to the perfection, and he suggested us a vegan gluten free padana with extra artichokes. Couldn’t be a better combination. We enjoyed so much. We will be back soon.

I went out for dinner with my friend’s for my friends birthday on Saturday .The customer service was excellent. The pizza was great and the service was fast. We had a lovely waitress called Justiana. She was lovely she answered all our questions about the food that they offered. She even gave suggestions of what to order when we asked. She was smiling the whole time and has probably been the best waitress I have ever had. She saw my friend’s birthday badge and when we ordered dessert she came out with a candle and sang happy birthday to my friend. Such a lovely girl Will definitely recommend this pizza express.

Friendly staff, good service , nice food

I cant recommend this place enough. Dropping into London on the weekends cannot be complete without coming to this pizza express. From the authentic Italian Pizzas to their welcoming vibe, this place cant be topped! I would like to especially thank Justiana for always being there to welcome us with a heartfelt smile, her customer oriented approach doesnt go unrecognised. I love this place!!

We ate there, the truth is that the menu is very limited and unclear, there are pizzas that are large and thin as a paper, others small and a little thicker, but you are left hungry, we did not eat dessert or coffee or anything, because we ordered 5 pizzas, 4 soft drinks, a beer and it cost us 120 pounds, the waiter was upset for leaving only 2 pounds as a tip, which I left out of commitment, since it took a long time to bring the food.

Con mi tren a casa a menos de 2 horas de distancia, me apresuraba a encontrar un lugar para comer mientras estaba en Londres, así que terminé deteniéndome aquí, pensando que realmente no puede equivocarse con un Pizza Express. ¡Pues resulta que puedes! Cuando llegué, debo haber esperado unos 5 minutos antes de que alguien reconociera mi presencia. Esto es a pesar de innumerables camareros caminando con comida y viéndome. Este lugar fue afortunado de que yo estaba en un apuro porque de otra manera me habría alejado y me habría ido a otro lugar. Me mostró a una mesa un hombre que me dio la impresión de que estaba a cargo, que parecía ser un poco directo en la forma en que habló con su personal de espera delante de mí, que no me pareció demasiado profesional. El lugar en sí era bastante triste para un Pizza Express - por lo general, sus restaurantes están decorados con buen gusto, pero desde el suelo de baldosas hasta el sofá de cuero asientos proporcionados, este lugar me recordó a un local de comida rápida en lugar de un restaurante profesional. Pizza was very disappointing considering the price. It had almost no topping on it. Just a little bit of cheese and one half of a cherry tomato, and it wasn’t as good as you’d expect from this kind of a place. Staff was nice but very passive.

Pizza Express for a light pizza experience It is easily accessible from all over London. The price is also reasonable so it's good.

I come to this Pizza Express all the time it’s honestly the perfect spot to grab a pizza. The food’s always great and the vibe is chill, but what really makes it special is Justiana. She’s always so friendly, smiley and welcoming every time I’m in. The service is always spot on, and it’s that kind of experience that keeps me coming back. Love this place!

Everything correct. Correct quality-price

Us three ladies regularly meet at Pizza Express for a "ladies who lunch", our server Paulo is our usual waiter, always remembers us and gives us very good service, also pointing out any new dishes.

The food was standard Pizza Express. The service was awful, so slow. We waited over an hour for our mains, and with a hungry 4 year old, it kind of ruined the day. But the time the food came, she didn't want to eat and just cried, which isn't like her at all. The restaurant wasn't overly busy. Lots of people in our section were complaining, which made the atmosphere quite hostile and tense. The waiter seemed very stressed, I think they were seating more customers in his area than anywhere else. I didn't have chance to complain on the day due to being alone with my upset daughter, and that would have exacerbated her mood.

It took them 55 minutes since we ordered to deliver the pizza. Additionaly, we were not warned that the extra ingridients that we asked for (a burrata) were not avialable. Anyone could have seen my face of disbelief when I saw other costumers getting custom pizzas with a burrata on top, after we were half way through ours. I really hope it wasn't because we were tourists, and I hope it might have been a missundertanding within the kitchen... I would recomend avoiding this place. Workers were kind enough tho.

Went for the 1965 birthday deal with a friend and despite the many, many (manyyy) empty tables were told was fully booked. Yet the post said to just turn up. Quite disappointing.

A favourite Pizza Express location. Large, airy and well located for South Bank/ Waterloo. Never too busy in a very busy area. Good if you’ve got kids to feed

What let's this place down is the service. We had a reservation and it took ages to be sat down and then forever for someone to take our order (no we were not going to use an app). Watching the staff it felt chaotic. I would not rush back.

Very disappointing. Avoid this restaurant. When we arrived, we were quickly seated, but that’s where the positive experience ended. After sitting down, I tried to get a waiter’s attention by waving, but he looked right at me and then walked away. It took a frustrating ten minutes before we were able to place our order. Things only got worse from there. An argument broke out between the manager and the kitchen staff, which lasted some time and only caused even more delays. We waited a full hour from sitting down until we received our starter. When my main course finally arrived, another 10 minutes later, my pizza was burnt. To top it off, the dessert took another 10 minutes again, and when the bill came, it was a staggering £78. Despite the long waits and the issues with our meal, there was no attempt to offer a discount or make up for the terrible service and total lack of professionalism. They did eventually apologise, but it felt insincere and hollow. This was a disappointing experience, especially considering the price we paid. I expected much better service and food quality for the money.

We visited today, the service was terribly slow there were only 3x chefs working, after 45mins we still hadn’t received our starters so we walked out. Everyone was complaining, people were sending their food back, yet they kept seating more people.

Food was delicious, waiter super friendly and helpful. It felt a bit hectic, not a place for a peaceful lunch, but overall it was great.

Very disappointing. Tuesday evening (18.30) and they couldn't cope with the number of covers it would appear. Long time for many to get seated, over half an hour to get my pizza. Had to get a takeaway box to eat on the go otherwise I would have been late for where I was going next. Fortunately, I had the app, so I could pay at the table without needing to wait any more. Unlikely to return.

Don't bother if you are looking for an early lunch, or a quick one. We booked for 11.30am as a pre-theatre treat with our toddler. Apparently the kitchen doesn't open until 11.45am - this wasn't clear on booking and wasn't mentioned on arrival. On asking after our food at 12.10pm, when we had still yet to receive even dough balls, we were met with sighs and eye rolls from the staff. We were told the table booking is for 2 hours so we should expect to wait 45 minutes for food!? So we left. The manager was very polite and understanding when we explained why we were leaving, hence two stars rather than one. But I don't think the restaurant should take bookings before the kitchen opens, and the rest of the staff need reminding that it's reasonable for parents in a family friendly restaurant to ask when food for their hungry children will arrive and that they need to apologise if it is slow. I've never walked out of a restaurant before, but this experience has put me off Pizza Express as a whole.

The staff in here are absolutely delightful, with a special mention to Bruno and the lovely waitress who sorted my online order perfectly despite me being there past their closing time! :) Very much appreciated.

We had a lunch with lots of children and adults (22 people all together), the service was exceptional! Thank you for making our meal so easy and stress free.

We had a lovely lunch at this branch. Kids were eating for free if you purchased an adult meal, which I think it's a brilliant deal for a large family plus we used the Pizza Express app which gave us more money off and a couple of freebies! We were a booking of 5 adults, 3 children and a baby. Great service and food arrived in good time which was injustice as it was a weekend and half term. We will return as the atmosphere was relaxed and the food was fresh and delicious.

Tardamos 30 minutos más en llegar nuestros alimentos, lo que significa que esperamos 90 minutos para que llegaran nuestras comidas. No se dio aviso sobre la espera. It is very close to one of the entrances to Southbank, as we booked another restaurant for New Year's Eve to be able to go in and see the fireworks up close. But it only opened at 7pm, and pizza express was open and saved us so we could drink water, and our friends ordered pizza, we ordered it to take away, otherwise it would be more expensive, clean bathroom, friendly staff, and a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere . A place to return to eat calmly and inside the restaurant.

Booked a table and can’t get in… completely incompetent…..

Only let down by being understaffed, this is otherwise a great Pizza Express. There was a bit of a wait to be served due to the understaffing (no staff were idle, just needed one or two more on the floor) but the service was very friendly and polite when it came. The food was, as usual for Pizza Express, tasty and freshly cooked. Unfortunately, due to the wait, I didn’t have time for dessert.
