We visited here for the first time late this afternoon. It was quiet (only 2 other tables on arrival) so the meals arrived in good time. The food was lovely & we all enjoyed what we ordered. Slightly disappointed with the desserts - pretty much...

Went here for a meal last night. Waitress was polite but starters took over 15 minutes. Then 20 minutes for main course. When they arrived my partners pizza was missing artichokes. I pointed this out to I think the assistant manager who quickly took it...

We've visited this restaurant several times and the service has been appallingly slow. 45 minutes wait before any food was served (even when the restaurant wasn't half full), then long waits between courses/for the bill. Much better service at other local restaurants, where we will now be taking our business!

Great food and great service as usual. Prefer this place to pizza express as the food actually comes warm!

Teníamos una mesa de grupo reservada para una fiesta de Navidad. Al pagar, descubrimos que se había agregado automáticamente un cargo por servicio ya que el grupo tenía más de 11 años. Estoy de acuerdo con pagar un cargo por servicio después de haber trabajado en la industria de la restauración durante muchos años, pero 12. El 5% (5) para dos pizzas y dos bebidas es excesivo, especialmente cuando habíamos reservado nuestra comida. La pizza en sí estaba cruda y tibia y el servicio estaba bien, pero teniendo en cuenta que solo tomaron un pedido de bebidas y entregaron la comida, no diría que fue un servicio excepcional digno de un 12. 5% de propina. Las bebidas también son excesivamente caras a las 6. 60 por una botella promedio de cerveza. Puede obtener mejores pizzas por un precio más económico en otro lugar, no volveremos.

Visité esta sucursal en el mercado navideño, ¡fue una experiencia absolutamente fabulosa! Nuestra camarera, que creo que también estaba manejando, fue fantástica, necesitamos obtener su nombre ya que nos sirve regularmente. Ella se apresuró a servirnos y sugirió un puesto en el mercado después de nuestra comida. ¡Nunca nos decepciona nuestra visita a Pizza Express Gloucester!

Myself and my friend visited this restaurant on Saturday 23rd November 2019 we ordered our food but we waited nearly a hour everybody else got theirs I think they forgot about us this couple came in after us and got served with in 10 minutes they offered us a free drink and said sorry for the wait and said it will be another couple of minutes it was at least another 15 minutes we eventually got it but it was like they rushed it it was a bit burnt on the top and so hot that I could hardly eat it the waitress who served us was the manager i think her name was Abi i said to her i think we should have a discount or not pay for it she was very rude and said I offered you a free drink and said it was busy it was but not enough as everybody else got their food on time that is no excuse then she blanked us after that

Soy celíaco (estrictamente libre de gluten) y Pizza Express siempre es mi lugar al que ir cuando salgo a cenar.Siempre he estado muy satisfecho con mi experiencia y siempre he dado una crítica de 5 estrellas.Esta no fue una visita perfecta para mí tristemente.Cuando la camarera me entregó la pizza, pedí un poco de queso parmesano.Esperé más de 5 minutos y finalmente tuve que llamar al camarero desde el otro lado del restaurante. Le pedí que trajera el parmesano según lo solicitado y que calentara mi pizza ya que ahora estaba casi fría.El restaurante era muy tranquilo (muy tarde) y solo había unas 4 o 5 mesas ocupadas.La camarera pareció ignorarme desde este punto (¿no sé si fue reprendida por el chef / gerente tal vez?). Ella no vino a preguntar si todo estaba bien con mi comida; el otro camarero finalmente hizo esto, justo cuando estaba terminando mi pizza.No me sentí muy bienvenido / valorado.

Mi hija tuvo su séptima fiesta de cumpleaños en Pizza Express en los muelles. A ella y a sus amigos les encantó. Tenían entrantes y luego hacían sus propias pizzas con la ayuda de Luke, el gerente, y helado para budín.Luke fue absolutamente fantástico con los niños que todos lo amaban y es una fiesta que recordará mi hija. Previous reviews had been poor but we had some Tesco vouchers to use up so in we went. The service was good, the staff were friendly and the decor tastefully modern and airy and there was quite a relaxing atmosphere. The one downside is the pizzas were chewy but the toppings were so delicious that we still ate it all. I brought it to the attention of the waiter who said he would point this out & get it resolved. Very polite. Make no mistake if the bases had been crispy this would be a 5 star review. I get the impression that staff are doing their best to turn things around and I wish them well. It’s too good to close.

Friday night pizza evening with friends. Service prompt and food as we would have hoped. Restaurant was quiet for Friday evening.

No calamari or halloumi available polenta chips came out burnt and were replaced, chef seemed not able to control the oven as many items were over cooked.

Young waitress quick to greet us at the door, she was extremely polite and let us choose the table, children enjoyed sitting by the front window as they got to watch food and desserts being made. Food was wonderful, small wait for it, but was definitely worth it. Don’t understand the bad reviews for this restaurant, we’re yet to be let down! Will be back again

Pizza express pizzas taste great which is why we go there but I'm not sure why they feel they can get away with really poor service. First time we went, the manager specifically told me that I couldn't have the main I wanted because they 'forgot to take them out the freezer' the night before, you could at least pretend it was going to be made fresh? Slow service but not awful given that the restaurant was full but you expect there to be enough staff to cope with a full restaurant. We went again yesterday but only because we had vouchers to spend - would not go there to spend my own money on the meal. It took a little while for staff to notice us and offer us a table and our toddler was becoming impatient - don't blame him but when we were eventually shown to a table, the manager (not the same as last time) was polite, smiley and another waiter came to take our order. There ended the pleasant experience. Starters failed to arrive for 30+ mins so I enquired as to where they were and eventually they were brought out. Mine and my son's pizza came almost straight away and we got a visit from the manager to say that they had made my husband the wrong pizza so they were 'just making it now.' Had to wait longer for that. Wanted dessert but because a simple lunch was taking 2+ hours, we had to skip on that and leave. The manager took some money off the bill for us which was the least they could do but unfortunately, I don't think we'll be going back. It's a shame as you guys do make good pizzas!

As most other restaurants in the Quays wouldn’t let you in our 3rd choice didn’t disappoint for my daughters birthday. Food was good chef does like to burn the edges of the pizzas taste OK service will go again well done always have an offer

First up food was good.Nothing else was though.Waiter quick to take drinks and food order but nothing else was so efficient. Restaurant was busy, not full, but busy. However it took 1hr 15mins to receive our 1 starter (after asking where it was). Followed by 30 min wait for our 2 pizza mains. I honest think the waiter did not hand our food order in until asking where our starter was. There was a level of embarrassment which followed to the point where the waiter knew there was no tip so stop serving us.Quickly ushered out then

Booked a table for family at 615pm on a Saturday. Due to visit cinema nearby at 720pm thereafter. Waited at door for 5 minutes whilst young waitresses chatted amongst themselves and walked past failing to acknowledge us. Finally greeted and our name was not on the table list. Sat at a table whereupon we waited for 30 minutes without any interaction from staff. Spoke to a member of staff who stated that there were already 4 orders ahead of us and we would not be served in time to see the movie. He apologised and said the other staff were new and he was doing the best he could by himself. We left. Won’t be back.

Got a gift card to eat in one of these places so thought why not. Ordered the garlic mushroom starter which was puny, not garlicky at all... and cost £6! Then they served the new calzone which was so charred it was literally smoking. I refused to pay for it and had it removed from the bill as we didn't have time to wait for another one. Service was slow and the place wasn't even busy. The restaurant filled again with the smell of smoke later on during the (shared) meal- I was really surprised smoke alarms didn't go off. On leaving we just felt ripped off, hungry and wished we had gone to wagas instead.

Waited 45 minutes for our main. No halumi bites and they had run out of red onion. How can a restaurant run out of something as basic as onion. The waiter said they were sort staffed and that the manager wouldn't come out of the office. The plus side they did take £17 off the bill. Don't think we will be going back in a hurry. The branch in Cheltenham seems to be better.

We booked a party of 14 to celebrate a work anniversary and a special staff member birthday. The staff dealt well with the ordering of our food and our starters came out in a timely manner. However, the mains were seriously delayed with one meal not being delivered until WE queried it. At no point did a staff member check on us. They were not aware of the problem.At no point were plates cleared. No cutlery was replenished. The Gluten free pizza was a soggy piece of dough with melted cheese - completely unappetising! I had no cutlery for my main meal and there was no opportunity to put this right. We received a reduction in our bill which may seem satisfactory to Pizza Express but in no way compensated for our disappointment.The cake we provided for our staff member had no candles. We do not blame the staff on site they did their utmost. This restaurant is not currently fit to operate in my opinion and is not recommended.

Bad service.. they were not serving the salad my husband wanted. Then didn’t have eggs for remaining salads.. took more than 1 hr to serve 2 salads and 2 bland pizzas from kids menu. Then she forgot to add strawberries in my daughter’s dessert despite of specifically asking for it. Not coming back again.

I have already written a proper letter to Pizza Express regarding our service tonight.I will 100% not return here. I have told them this and dont want any goodwill gesture. Restaurant half empty. Took ages to be seated, to be seen too, for food. No drinks brought over, Everything we wanted they didnt have. We ordered halloumi bites, which they didnt have. So we ordered garlic bread, which came AFTER our main she brought over 2 instead of 1 and served it to us then we went to tuck in she said 'oh you only ordered 1' and I was like yea but you've just served it us and had our fingers on it now she still took it away? She still had the nerve to try and charge us for it even though she took it away due to her incompetence. Waste of time. You wont have a good experience at all so dont bother. Go elsewhere.

Extremely under enthusiastic staff, had to wait a long time to be seated in a very quiet restaurant, very slow service, didn’t get what we requested, food was cold and took a long time to arrive, staff preferred to talk to each other rather than serve customers.....the list is endless. Overall a very poor experience for the price - there are so many other better restaurants at the Quays so in future we will be using one of those instead!

We visited here for a nice meal on a weekend away. Despite the restaurant being half empty they were reluctant to give us a table until we said we’d sit outside. We ordered our food and the drinks turned up relatively quickly however that’s when it all went downhill. After waiting for half an hour and no sign of our starters, even though people that had arrived after us had nearly finished their meals, I asked the waitress what was happening. She disappeared and came back 10 minutes later saying ‘I’m not sure what’s happened but your pizza’s are already in the oven, so we ended up having the starters and main courses all bought out together! When the food finally arrived the pizza’s were sloppy, not cooked well and tasted nothing like a normal Pizza Express, really not enjoyable at all. To top it all off, when the waitress came back with the bill it was totally wrong! I would most definitely avoid this restaurant... so many nicer ones to choose from!

There was a board outside offering a starter and main for £14.95 Also had offer on my phone. Also asked the waiter whi h starter and main were included in the offer which we both ordered. Bill presented was 20% more. I asked the family member to check the bill as I had previously been over charged on an offer price. So beware customers check your bill. Also the ink on the receipt was unreadable. You are induced to eat there by the price and this is the second time On 2 visits I have been misled regarding the price

We attended on the 25th of May with 8 people to celebrate my 35th Birthday. The staff were pleasant however the service/communication ruined the meal. We all ordered starters and they turned up quickly however I had ordered Arancini but Calamari turned up. Therefore I hade to watch everyone eat their and then feel awkward eating mine alone when the correct started arrived. They took the starter off for this mix up. We then had our mains turn up again with good timing however the waiter gave my salad to the wrong person and described it as the wrong dish which my friend didn’t notice. So when mine arrived I noticed that there was a mix up. They apologised and said it would take another 5minutes to rectify. 5minutes later the waiter then says that they don’t have the ingredients and if have to pick something different but would also be taken off the bill. So we’re now 10minutes later and my 3 option for a main arrived which was chicken pizza. However after one slice in I discovered and hair in the pizza. Now at this point I have lost all confidence in their hygiene, their ability to fulfil a simple order, my appetite and patients. When I spoke to the manager they offered to take my food off to which I replied “what are you going to take off you have taken everything off already!”. At this point I left because I could feel myself getting annoyed. The end result they took 20% off the meal for everyone else but that still left me with no food, my birthday meal experience ruined and I didn’t feel like they had dealt with their service recovery correctly. Very disappointing, would not recommend based on these issues however that said should you be lucky to get what you order I hear it was nice. Certainly looked it while I sat there hungry

Tuvimos una gran comida aquí antes de un viaje de cine. No he recompensado 5 estrellas porque el servicio fue un poco lento teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de personas que comen. Sin embargo, una vez que llegó, la pizza estaba deliciosa y tenía una excelente relación calidad-precio. Nunca he comido en Pizza Express antes, ¡pero definitivamente volveré a visitarlo!

¡No puedo hablar mejor de Abi! Era fantástica, super amable, muy eficiente y ayudó a mi novia a elegir su comida ya que tiene intolerancias alimentarias. Los postres, que Abi se hizo a sí misma, eran para morirse. Nuestros platos principales, por otro lado, eran algo que desear, pero una vez más Abi estaba disponible para rectificar el problema. ¡No puedo esperar a volver para probar algunos de los nuevos platos que Abi nos dijo sobre declarar pronto!

Reservamos una mesa en línea antes de Gloucester Quays Cinema, dos adultos y cuatro niños. Tan pronto como entramos - actitud terrible, ah tengo que servir a alguien, no una respuesta a nuestro saludo, después de que nos sentamos, tomó 12 minutos para que alguien nos reconociera. Los niños tenían bolitas de masa cada uno de sus menús de Picollo, la pizza principal, la pasta para ellos y nuestras pizzas de legera llegaron más de 45 minutos más tarde (no muy ocupadas) y ¡estaban muy frías! ! ! En general, estuvimos allí hora y media y tuvimos que llevar brownies para niños en cajas al cine, simplemente llegar tarde a la película. Al salir, de nuevo no es un acuse de recibo, no una respuesta a nuestros, byes, o de lo contrario. . Y sólo una gran decepción. . EVITAR Mejores restaurantes cercanos y generalmente contamos con un servicio excelente en otros lugares de Pizza Express.

12 de nosotros reservamos para un jueves por la noche, después de haber colocado nuestras opciones de comida, entonces esperamos una hora y media para la comida. El camarero eventualmente se disculpó pero el gerente no vino. Cuando llegó la comida era muy buena, pero para cuando finalmente tuvimos nuestros platos principales, ya era demasiado tarde para el desierto y todos estábamos helados aunque nos proporcionaron mantas. El restaurante no estaba particularmente ocupado, creo que les faltaba personal, ya que el fin de semana de las naves altas comenzó al día siguiente, por lo que estaban ahorrando turnos para el personal. Nos dieron un descuento muy generoso por las molestias, pero no volveremos allí como grupo, arruinó la noche.

Been turned away twice in the last week with poor excuses. They obviously don’t need the business. Their loss Zizzis and Bella Italias gain. I have to say glad they did as the others were great

Love eating out here! The food is very good, the staff are friendly and I love the fact that they include food for people with gluten free intolerances (like me)! 😊

Food was OK. Not great. Not awful. Not much more to I can add really other than I don’t think the prices reflect the average food. It’s not great value. Service was terrible and very very slow. Waiting staff really did not look interested and in a half full restaurant the kitchen could not keep up. We waited a long time for food and as such didn’t bother waiting for desert. Fortunately I could pay by app and just get out. Won’t be going back.

Had to move table as too cold by the glass windows and the waitress said the heating has been broken for a few weeks. We then had a very wobbly table. I ordered a Bolognaise the pasta was burnt all the way through the dish. So they replaced it and this time it was full of hard seeds which made it inedible. I left the meal and gave up I was not willing to try for a third time. The waiter was a very nice polite young man but explained that the manageress would only knock the price of my meal of the bill and wouldn't even offer me a free drink.I also had to return my coffee as there was a huge chip in cup. I asked to see the Manager but she refused to come and see me. A vey disappointing experience to say the least.

long wait for a takeaway pizza, was charged £30 for 3 pizza's to take away, very expensive. was charged almost £3 for a lemonade whilst waiting half an hour for them. I wasn't offered a bag and the pizzas too hot and too unwieldy in boxes to carry, I had to ask for a bag, there were none, a waitress went to look upstairs for a bag, 15 minutes! I walked to back of shop and said I would look for a bag myself, if no bags then refund me please! a bag appeared. too small to properly accommodate the 3 boxes, she should have given me 2 bags! she then struggled to put the pizzas sideways in the bag, I helped, unfortunately this was done on a laid up table in the restaurant area by the door, the tugging to get the boxes in knocked over the glasses and cutlery! what a performance. Also restaurant was half empty yet the receptionist kept turning people away saying come back after 3pm - many people complained as there were many many empty tables. There are no takeaway menu's available hence you cant select a pizza and price. I was shocked to be presented with a £30 bill and extremely frustrated with my long wait and appalling service. There is no waiting area for take away customers so I sat on a large empty table by the door.

Enjoyed a family meal here in October. The waiter was very helpful and friendly .The restaurant was busy on a Saturday evening but the service was prompt and food enjoyable. Only downside it was very draughty and quite chilly.

I’ve been here numerous times and the services is either terrible or the food is. This time it was the food. Seriously wouldn’t waste my money going here again and Zizi’s opposite is far much better food and service.

La pasta no estaba hecha y el personal era sarcástico, las patatas fritas eran desagradables y es muy caro. teníamos cuatro niños y tenían un menú más barato y todavía llegaban a 71 impares, el personal tardaba años en conseguir que te sentaran y tardaban años en tomar orden, las gafas estaban sucias.

8 of us met up on Sept. 19th. we were served by Henry who was amazing from start to finish. We had a lovely evening, the food was delicious, ordering made easier with Henry's recommendations, drinks promptly delivered.Faultless, highly recommended, although it's called Pizza Express there is plenty of choice, something for everyone, well done, keep it up

An evening meal out during an overnight stay in Gloucester. This restaurant had a nice, relaxed atmosphere and wasn't too busy at 9pm on a Friday night. Service was quick, the main course was great and the waitress was lovely - very friendly and polite. The only thing that let this visit down were the desserts. Two desserts that should have been hot were delivered barely warm and I didn't manage to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls.

Very busy saturday lunchtime, so a little slow on taking the order but the lovely waitress apologised. Everything was great and she was helpful with the order, flexible, as my son wanted a warm brownie and a slight alteration in the main dish to suit . Can't fault it, a good experience and pizzas perfect as pizza express everywhere usually are.

We booked this as a treat before kids go back to school . Someone should at ya if we wanted a able instead of coming to the sign that said wait to be seated. Would t move the son for us to fit the pushchair through the door. Not once was my daughter who just broke her leg acknowledged so sat furthest away in very cold corner . Had to get through her everyone as she couldn’t walk. Trying. To avoid hitting tables and chairs. The air con was on full power that we couldn’t leave stuff on table without being blown away. Table service stupidly slow as we were sat watching three members of staff chatting while we are waiting . Trying to get their attention but no luck . It wasn’t very busy so wasn’t realky much of a excuse . Good was ok nothing special . Had to ask for cutlery as only knives on table that were dirty .

I came here with my friend after visiting the Cinema ,it was very hot and all the doors were open onto the pedestrianised road .It was lovely like being on holiday .I loved my pizza and the service was excellent .

Visited the restaurant today with my wife. We normally like the chain and eat pizza from time to time there. We couldn't believe that:1. We waited approx 5 mins for someone to at least acknowledge that we entered the restaurant.2. The table we sat at had blue water glasses with some water in them (from previous customers)3. The cutlery had dried food on them-asked for replacement.4. We waited at least 5 mins for someone to take our order 5. The restaurant was half empty, with tables not being cleared after customers have gone.6. The pizzas (sloppy and ligerra) were not baked enough and they didn't taste nice at all.7. The manager(ot the lady that was not dressed in an uniform) kept sending customers away on half empty restaurant. Not sure what she was telling them but customers were leaving after she had spoken to them.We left our food disgusted from the hygiene of the restaurant.Shame for the chain. Avoid this location at all cost!!

I normally like pizza express, but on my last visit to this establishment it appears to have gone downhill, we had to wait for thirty five minutes before we were attended to and then another thirty minutes before our food was brought to us. Unfortunately because we were sat under the air conditioning the pizza was cold by the time I had sliced it. Also the pizza was burnt in places around the edges. This restaurant needs to up their game especially with all the competition they have in the quays.

We wouldn't normally choose Pizza Express but we were really hungry and it was almost empty and everywhere else was full!!!!It was so lovely and cool inside and the staff were all very lovely and attentive.My husband opted for the Sloppy Giuseppe which although he did enjoy he would have liked to have seen more meat in attendance. I had the Nicoise salad which again was ok but it always surprises me when you are paying SO much for a salad how very basic the actual lettuce is. When you can buy a whole bag of lovely mixed leaves for £1 with such a variety of punchy flavours that could transform the salad, you opt for just the cheapest you can find. With such a massive mark up. It really doesn't feel like you are getting value for money, hence the 3 stars.Couldn't fault the service and there was outside seating too if you wanted to brave the current Mediterranean heat!

I had heard good things about Gluten Free at Pizza Express so decided to give it a try. I was disappointed for a number of reasons: - When I told the waitress that I had Coeliac Disease, she looked at me blankly. - My Gluten Free pizza was smaller than my partners normal pizza - what makes you think that coeliacs are any less hungry?- We had a voucher for a 3 course deal, yet as a Coeliac, I couldn't have any of the puddings on the deal? I.e. why is chocolate fudge cake (not gluten free) part of the deal, but chocolate brownie (gluten free) isn't?! Bar the above, my pizza was nice... just a shame that I left there still hungry!

Myself and my fiance visited Pizza Express at Gloucester Quays this afternoon. We waiting outside in the heat behind the sign to wait to be greeted, for about 5 minutes before anyone actually came over to use to greet and seat us.The staff were very polite and the food was delicious I cannot fault that.Service was quite slow- menu's left on table after orders taken and not collected when drinks given to us so did leave those on another table!Wasn't asked if everything was okay with food- although it was, I feel it is a nice touch and most places do this!When it came to payment I mentioned I had a NUS card, as stated on the Pizza Express website as well as the NUS website, NUS students qualify for 30% off when showing their card. Mentioned this to the waiter when getting the bill, he said they no longer did it but would ask and go get the card machine ready.Came back 15 minutes later asking what the NUS number on the card was, no clarification of the fact they actually did still honour this. Payment took a lot longer than expected, generally average. Probably won't be visiting there again next time we are in Gloucester Quays.

After a lovely afternoon with friends at hartpury equestrian show, pizza was needed. The service is friendly and the food consistently nice and good value.

Title says it all really. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food arrived hot and as ordered. My daugthers pizza was well covered in topping and she really enjoyed, but I thought the base was a bit soggy.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was awful and lasted just over 15 minutes. As with most Pizza Express restaurants there are numerous offers and if you are part of a group it’s common that members will want to place their own orders based on the offers they have, typically we have made 2 or 3 orders per table in the past at other Pizza Express restaurants. At this restaurant if your family members or friends sit at the same table as yourself they will be unable to make a separate order meaning your entire group will only be able to use one offer. If you order from a set menu this is classified as an offer and other group members are unable to any offers that they have. When we questioned this we were told that it’s so the restaurant can make money ! We all expect businesses to make a profit but nobody likes being ripped off. We voted with our feet and promptly left the restaurant. There are numerous other restaurants in the vicinity which are more accommodating and enjoyable with quicker service. Overall a very poor experience

Went here with 6 friends. We had a two course deal each. Garlic bread and a pizza for £10.95. Very good value and tasty, service was good. We didnt agree with £11 being added for service charge but the waiter took this off the bill with no issues. Will be back

Modern building in the Gloucester docks area. Most of the docks buildings are refurbished Victorian warehouses, or if not, they do their best to look like it - check out Bill's café for that. Pizza Express is much more modern. I was there for a works do, a team building lunch. So the firm was paying, and we ordered in advance. Given that the firm was paying, I did my best to choose the most expensive things on the (unpriced) menu - so I went for the antipasti, which is usually expensive and often for two people. It was certainly a good plate of interesting stuff - sundried tomatoes, various hams and salami, artichoke hearts, olives - that sort of thing. Not certain if it was for two.Main course - I chose the Pizza Veneziana with extra anchovies. I like anchovies. I'm not sure how authentically Venetian it was - pizza comes from the other end of Italy, but it was very nice. Could have done with more anchovies though. A couple of my colleagues received a (very slightly) burnt pizza. Before they could mention it or even notice it, the waiter apologised and announced that the kitchen was making a couple of new pizzas, but they could have these ones to tide them over. They ate them all; the new ones came; they got eaten too. Good espresso to follow. All in all, a very decent lunch from Pizza Express. They also do a make your own pizza thing - you turn up in the morning and learn how to do it, no doubt lots of mess as amateur pizza chefs screw up horribly. You get to eat your efforts if they are edible, otherwise you can have a properly made one.

Visited at 6pm approx, Restaurant from the outside looked tidy and modern, quiet in comparison to other restaurants nearby.When we walked in we waited 5 mins to be acknowledged or seated, given our seat positioning this appeared to be the norm.The host seated us with Menus & that was the last we saw her.After waiting 15 minutes we left.I informed the Duty Manager we were leaving and why.In total I was aware of 2 Servers and a Manager - surprising given the time.Did try and call last night however after being told I was number 1 for 9 minutes - gave up.

Where do I start. We walked in at 20.55 to be told that they are not taking anymore walk in’s and we had to phone and ask for a table. We then asked for the phone number and the waitress didn’t know it. She then walked off to find the number. By this time we looked the number up and called the restaurant the phone rang many times and went to answer phone. Then the manager appeared to say the chef had gone home sick we then left and went next door to eat. After leaving we walked back past Pizza Express and looked through the windows to find yes you guessed it a chef cooking pizzas. Won’t recommend this place at all unless you want to be lied to by staff at Pizza Express.

We visited this place on 27th March 2018. We had booked but arrived early. The table and glasses were marked & one had lipstick on it. We ordered drinks and after waiting 10 minutes chased them, they arrived. We ordered our food after Forty minutes we chased our order, we were told no more than 3 mins. Ten minutes later and watching burnt food coming out of the oven, we told them we were leaving. Poor staff, poor management, no customer service. We will not be going there again. We went over the road to Chimi Changas and received a great meal perfectly cooked with great flavour and Fantastic service and everything was done within 1 hour.

my god this place is boring has the most uninspiring menu in the world, the only beer they have is a poor larger of the fosters, carling, carlsberg or peroni ilk cant remember which one. pizza express used to be a treat but the only reason you go in here now is if you have a voucher,

We decided to go to pizza express after hearing it was being run by a new manager and hoped that it would have improved a little since last time. We booked a table for 9pm. Our ice skating ran over by 10 minutes so we arrived at 9:15 and the manager said to our face "oh you are very late, I've taken you off the list". She then had to find a table for us after giving ours away. Food was good. Chefs are the only good thing about the place. Asked waiter for something and she had no clue what I was on about and had to walk up to the open kitchen to ask the chef's directly for it. Still not as good as pizza express should be. We will be avoiding this branch and telling our friends the same.

We called in after the cinema and had a lovely meal! Quick efficient service ! Well done! Had a glass of red wine which was very nice!

Our 3 rd trip to this pizza express so you have to say we have given it a chance to redeem itself but each time the service has been sooooo slow and the place is freezing!. Orders forgotten, wrong items brought. Why would children want another portion of dough balls for desert? Sorry Pizza Express you have lost us...

Popped in for a late lunch with my son. Really great service, very tasty food. Will definitely return.

The food was good to average, overpriced if i had not had a meal deal voucher. Staff varied. Accomodating front of house but and waitress was nice, but forgot piccalo crayons and sheet. Asked twice. Main criticism is that it was cold, uncomfortably cold.

My daughter and her school friends went for a meal Saturday night and at the end of the meal Pizza Express tried to charge them the service charge of 12.5%, even though it stipulates the service charge applies to adults. My daughter and her friends are 14 years old and still at school. The worse of it was that instead of rectifying it they even got the manager and as the girls had gone out to eat alone, they were pressured into paying as much as they could. My daughter was really upset when she came home, they had spoilt her evening with her friends, stressing them all out and upsetting them. I am absolutely disgusted with this treatment. This isn't the only restaurant chain who takes advantage of the youth of their customers! We won't be going there again I find this behaviour short sighted and downright nasty!

we decided to pop in for early evening food and drinks recently, a friendly welcome, great service, and the food was really nice. enjoyed with a bottle of shiraz. warm and comfortable restaurant ! Recommended

Very slow service. Management not exactly friendly and welcoming although the junior staff were friendly... bit just not attentive. Had to ask MANY times for menus bill etc.. the pizzas were cold and no apology given however a large discount was applied to the bill which was greatly appreciated. We specifically chose OR over the many other restaurants in the area as we've always had fantastic food and service at our local Cirencester branch. Although the pizzas were cold they tasted fine and the puddings were a generous size and the children enjoyed them.

Spur of the moment visit whilst shopping at the quays. Standard menu but staff were very friendly. Reasonably priced apart from the wine which I thought was a little high. Tasty food though!

I haven't been here before but was pleasantly surprised at the high standard and great tasting Pizza The restaurant was very stylish and attractive a much higher standard than Pizza Hut !!!!

Although a bit pricey for a pizza (all be it a sit down establishment) service was great! Quite entertaining though watching the obligatory free food & merry complainers revel at making staff squirm for a free meal too! Even though munching the table cloth & freebies they obviously came in for lol

We were greeted by a young man who asked us how many there were of us, and proceeded to find a table and clean it. There was no cutlery on it. He took our drinks order fairly quickly, and then our food order. One and a quarter hours later, after persistent enquiries, we received our food. When we had asked twice how long our food would be, the manageress, in a very unhelpful, and brusque manner, said “ we are doing our best”,and walked away.I personally went and collected our cutlery, as she had sent the young man out to wash up. He was the only member of staff who had spoken to us civilly. We let them know how dissatisfied we were with their service, manners and general lack of customer care.All that was required, was an explanation of lack of staff, apology for delay, and a pleasant attitude.The manageress would be better placed as an ordinary member of staff and let the young man take her place.he was pleasant, efficient and caring. Give him the job. The people next to us, to whom she gave a full refund, would never return.

Booked a table and walked in. Waitress pointed at a table and walked off. No kids menus were given when we clearly had kids. Tables too close together. Very close. Food was okay but expensive for portion size given. Puddings came out 5 minutes apart. Won’t go back.

Booked a table for the Saturday night as we were staying for the weekend. My 9 year old niece was with us, was very busy but they didn't take long to serve us. We had a lovely evening, food was very good and the atmosphere was really good. Would definitely go back again.

We were sat at the middle of the restaurant it was ok we got a lovely margaretia pizza it was very nice but took somewhat a while to come overall our experience was good but could have been better.

had a good meal here. 2 pizza based and 2 non pizza based. all were tasty and presented well but i would suggest side orders as the meals are not big and maybe a starter. this is not the cheap meal out you would think though. for us 4 it came to over £100 including drinks. service was fantastic.

So upon arrival we were seated right at the back of the restaurant in full beam of the sun with no concern from the waiter to move us and it was blinding my family. We then asked to move and he hesitated but let us. Once moving we ordered drinks which came quickly but took ages to order food and then for it to be delivered our starters arrive after about 15 mins then it took 45 mins for our mains to be delivered. They were ok but expensive for what we got. We ordered sweets after they told us it would be a lot quicker and still wasn’t. I was not impressed. Then to top it all off as we were leaving we saw the chef on his phone, in fact glued to it. Would not recommend and won’t be coming back.

Booked a table for Sunday at 1.30 for 9 people for my birthday celebrations. When we arrived we were waiting 20 minutes pasted the booked time for the table to be ready, left for 10 mins before asked for our drinks order. They didnt have a colouring pack for the child so he got bored very quickly. Waited a long time for our order to be taken and delivered. left at 3.30! slow and very poor service. Spoke to management at the end of the service and discussed my concerns as have never experienced anything like it from PE!! Great for small parties but wont be going back as a group.

Better than average but not good enough for very good! pizzas are tasty (need more cheese), food was fast and service was friendly. However, £4.40 for 10 polenta chips is disgraceful. 44p per chip! I raised this and they said that is what Head office has told to serve. Disgrace! Tables are also too close to others

Visited today with my husband, first time visiting and will be back. We both had chicken Cesar salad which was lovely and very large portions. Service was ok nothing special but nothing notably wrong.

Another good visit to Pizza Express, this time to the Gloucester Quays one, very enjoyable, would recommend their menu to anyone

Last time we will be going to the Gloucester branch of Pizza Express. The standard of food was not that great nor was the service. We went for lunch with the children over a weekend. It wasn't overly busy with people and there seems to be a good number of staff on duty standing around chatting. When we got shown to our table it was dirty, with other tables around us also not being cleaned. This didn't give us a very good first impression. When our food came out mine was a little soggy or under done and cold. When I complained the girl was polite and said the food had already been cooked and are warmed onsite so it shouldn't be under done, but she would warm it up again. Maybe this was the reason why my food was soggy. Lucky for us we had a voucher otherwise I wouldn't have paid £50+ for what we had that day. We will next time go to Pizza Hut. Maybe we might try another Pizza Express elsewhere.

A family birthday visit that did not disappoint. Previously we’ve used the nearby Bella Italia but after a couple of duff visits decided to try PE instead. Great pizzas that knocked Bella’s into a cocked hat, though their range of other foods would of course be wider than PE. But then, given the name here is Pizza Express, the clue what they do best is in the name. And it was a pleasure to eat there and will be a place of return, as the local BI won’t be.Good time had by all. Great pizzas, much as I’ve eaten in Italy.

Honestly, the food here is fine, perfectly fine, but nothing to shout home about. The flavours are less than you would expect from an 'Italian restaurant' but still not bad. It's enjoyable as the staff are good and make you feel well looked after.

We went on a Saturday night so yes we expected it to be busy although it quickly died down as our meal progressed. When we arrived the woman who served us acted like she had absolutely no where to sit us but then found us a table miraculously and then seated 4 other parties after us quickly. A couple behind us had had their drinks order taken, their drinks arrived and there food ordered before we had been ordered our drinks, baring in mind they sat after us. They have an ok range of food for vegans and vegetarians but they could really do more vegan options. Service was just so slow, we waited a while for everything even plates to be cleared and our change from the bill coming back! By the end of the meal the place was quiet and they really had no excuse to just still be slow. The staff were not enthusiastic at all with their job, I wouldn't choose to dine here again whilst visiting Gloucester.

Myself and my mother went here for dinner. It was fairly quiet and had quick service. The waitress was not particularly friendly though. I ordered the pollo pasta which I have had before and really enjoy. I was very happy with it as it is a large portion and very tasty. My mother ordered a pizza and she thought it was alright apart from the crust which was rock solid. The food came pretty quickly but the staff weren't particularly friendly. Nice atmosphere though because you are able to see the kitchen and the cooking in progress.

Booked a table for 6 on Saturday 16th September, located at the back of the restaurant. Good food, nice ambience and music. Our waiter Ben was excellent, great banter, very attentive to our requirements, great asset to Pizza Express. Definitely will be back.

Opted to go here for lunch today as we had a gift card and a voucher from the mobile app. Food was good but the day was made by our server who was excellent. He took care to get to know all his clients just a little and was chatting to everyone about anything. Quite a character and made a dull day much more fun. Well done.

Arrived at door at 5ish, was completely ignored my manager right in front of us and was welcomed by the waitress. The restaurant was almost completely empty, with only four tables taken. When we asked for a table of 3 we were told that we would have to wait 30 minutes to order, despite the restaurant being empty with 2 chefs in the kitchen. The manager was very rude as he didn't even look or speak to us, instead, he told the waitress what to say to us.I appreciate we hadn't booked, but this is the 3rd we have walked in hoping for a table and have been turned away despite an empty restaurant. Next time we won't bother.

£20.85 for 3 x 660ml bottles of Peroni (5p short of £7.00 each!!) has sadly severely dampened my enthusiasm for this restaurant. Better to have a beer or two beforehand and stick to tap water during the meal....

Once seated we were ignored three times by various members of staff for around 15 minutes. Once someone eventually came over we had to ask for drinks as we were only asked if we were ready to order food. We asked for a jug of water along with our drinks. Once this arrived to the table it looked like something out of a primary school canteen, it was plastic and covered in scratches! Once the starter arrived the food was okay. It then took around 20 minutes for our pizza to arrive! Overall poor service and I won't be back any time soon!

Dirty floors and high chair. An average eating experience and not particularly good value in my opinion.

If you want a pizza go somewhere decent. If you want a meal, two can eat in many great places for the cost of one meal here.In particular, we were tempted to try it because we had been given a "Two meals for the price of One" Ticket. It's a lie.Apparently it doesn't apply on Fridays and Saturdays - but there is no mention of that on the ticket. Wonder if you'll find it doesn't apply on whatever day you try to use it!Beside all this, and despite the brilliant waiting staff, the pizzas are bland at best (better off with £3.00 one from a supermarket). Overall, If all Pizza Express are like this one, we will never be seen in one ever again. Thoroughly recommend you avoid the place.

that's it no more that is the last time I go to a pizza express, the food is dull and expensive this restaurant was filthily with rubbish all over the floor, it was so bad I even took photos and emailed them to the management, the staff that should be keeping the place tidy are miserable and disinterested. a customer dropped his coat on the floor and staff just stepped on it that gives you an indication of what it is like,

The food was incredible highly recommend. Service great and atmosphere just fine. Will definitely come again

He visitado algunas veces pizza express en Gloucester Muelles y cada vez que el servicio ha sido decepcionante (yo que la comida siempre ha sido bueno, tarda una eternidad). En esta ocasión me tomó años para nuestra orden para ser llevado (unas pocas personas que llegó después de nosotros nos sirvieron antes), nos sirvieron la comida antes de nuestras bebidas llegamos y cuando lo hicieron mi bebida estaba mal (esto sucedió dos veces). Después de que habíamos terminado los cursos principales tardaron 20 minutos antes de los platos fueron tomadas, luego en conseguir postres y finalmente pidiendo la cuenta, tuvimos nuestros abrigos y prácticamente a la salida de la puerta antes de que yo era capaz de pagar.Me di cuenta de otras personas y dejando dando (antes de que estábamos sentados) y una mujer para colocar su orden con los chefs porque ella estaba harto de esperar. Sobre 10 mesas no había sido aclarado y en este punto el restaurante estaba bastante tranquilo.No culpar al personal que no lo mejor posible, pero la administración realmente necesita para asegurarse de que hay más personas que sirve.Sin duda no será comer aquí de nuevo, hay mejores lugares para probar en los muelles.

Visitado esta noche. Esperamos casi 20 minutos antes de pedir bebidas fue tomado y otro 25 antes de bebidas llegamos. Esperamos aún más para la pizza y no sólo en quejarnos de que lleguen. No creo que podría empeorar, pero adivina qué!Estamos vegetariano así que pedimos dos pizzas vegetarianas, pero de la pizza de carne tenía!

Got a decent meal and good service at Gloucester Pizza express. Its a chain so you know what you're going to get, however it was enjoyable.

Come for lunch today, staff are lovely but there is only one person in the kitchen and we are still waiting for food after an hour.

He utilizado docenas de veces Pizza Express de todo el país desde principios de los años ochenta. Rara vez he podido más que encantados con la calidad de la comida ni de las instalaciones. Este no fue diferente y es fácil no molestes o recomendar algún sitio nuevas o diferentes y miran los lugares a los que ir regularmente.Bien hecho por el Pizza Express comodidad y satisfacción que me he acostumbrado a esperar en todos sus muchos restaurantes diferentes!
