Pizza Express in Liverpool

My worst nightmare is undercooked food. We travelled to Speke as previously we've had a decent experience but today was sadly just the pits. I ordered the chicken pesto calzone and it was plated with a rather unimpressive few limp leaves of over sized cress. I sliced into the calzone only to discover a cold filling (advertised as hot) and all of it was cold. So cold, that the cheese hadn't melted so it looked like pieces of pale yellow plastic on top of cold pink chicken bits which looked like the dreggs of the poultry. YUK.. it was dreadful. Nobody came over to check our order so I sat there for 30 minutes until I had to shout the waitress over. She took one look and agreed it wasn't cooked, she said "yes I can see the cheese isn't melted and everything is cold".. she agreed it's inedible!!!! She also said she'd spoken to the kitchen and removed it off the bill. This isn't enough to win us back ever again. In fact even if she completely cleared the bill, we would never return. It's not enough to remove the item off the bill... you've plated food that wasn't cooked, god knows what problems that chicken could have caused, then your team ignored us for 30 minutes so service is shocking and ruined our meal that we planned together. We will avoid from now on

I have a gluten allergy and normally feel like a pain when ordering, but Mary was absolutely amazing and unfazed! Mary even reminded us to log into the Pizza Express app in case we had any rewards, which was massively appreciated. Food arrived quickly and was delicious, absolutely no complaints and will be back 😊

First visit last night with my grandson who loved the 3 course kids menu. Pasta for me which was plentiful and tasty. Five star fabulous service from Mary, thank you !

Abysmal !!! Was advised order ready but arrived and told would be a further 10 minute wait. Not good enough !

Ordered at 19.42 delivery time kept changing and didnt get it until 20.47 would probably have ordered differently had i known it would take so long

We are a family of five, originally planning on eating at pizza hut, that place was disgusting, came over to pizza express, the staff Mary and luci was fantastic with my boys, food fantastic and hot, can not fault the place. Definitely coming again

Worst experience at all. Almost 10 minutes waiting for someone come and take us to a table. More 10 minutes waiting for the waitress to come and take our orders, even though half the tables were empty. The waitresses stood in a back corner with their backs to the tables. When I complained, she simply said she was sorry. A typical phrase where the attendant doesn't really care.

Lovely visit to pizza express Speke, we were a group of 10, from young children through to grandparents. All catered for. Relaxed, quiet atmosphere with an attentive and conscientious host/server called Deryn.

Fabulous meal - food was absolutely gorgeous and Siobhan and her staff were so attentive and friendly. We will be back!

We were served by Mary today in Speke and she was excellent and very helpful and helped us to save money on our bill. Thank you for the lovely service :)

The chicken wings were small but flavourful the calamari wasnt fresh but the worst thing was the mac and cheese it was so bland no cheese or salt at all it was cream and pasta it was so bad which was unfortunate because of the price

The staff was very racist absolutely disgusting. A delivery man was waiting for his food collection for his delivery and food was there a d no one gave to him the shop wasn't even busy absolutely disgraceful!!!!

We've just been at Pizza Express in Speke for dinner. Lovely food and friendly and super attentive service. Deryn had a big smile on her face and made sure we were happy with everything. Everyone was amazing though, just don't have their names!

Driver and restaurant staff where great , didn’t have what I ordered and called to arrange otherwise and threw in garlic butter for the trouble , driver was very polite

She was extremely friendly and kind, and you could tell that she has a genuine care for customers. We had such a great experience at Pizza Express in Speke, thanks to Mary! The restaurant was absolutely packed, but you’d never have guessed it from the way she looked after us. we had such a lovely time our waitress Deryn was class just the right amount of attention to detail even opened up an area previously sectioned off to accomodate us .. food was fresh and delicious ... i used to work at a pizza express so i know wjen things arent perfect this was A star 💫 thank you so much for making a farewell goodluck dinner for my stepson just right xxx

Lovely Pizza Express next to cinema and shops. Be a few times and often get Mary serving us. She’s lovely, so friendly with both my elderly mum and young child.

This restaurant has a nice relaxing atmosphere with good background music and the staff members are lovely. The waitress who served us on this occasion was called Mary. She has served us on a few previous visits too. One of my daughters is autistic and doesn’t like crowds, but this is one of her favourite happy places to visit. Mary is very reassuring friendly, warm and attentive waitress. She is and makes my daughter feel heard, less anxious and comfortable. was attentive to my daughters requests and reassuring. She updated us on delivery from the kitchen. A very kind and warm lady. Our starters, mains, desserts and drinks were nice. Overall a very pleasant and pleasurable experience every time we visit. Visited at lunchtime for our son's eights birthday party. Nice food, great service, nothing was to much trouble for Mary who went out of her way to make it a special occasion. Mary wasn't even phased by eight eight year olds!
