Pizza Express in Warwick

Just been spoken to appallingly by a brunette miserable lady and refused a table despite the whole place being empty and the people behind us also didnt have a table yet they were then given a table.

We visited this Pizza Express around 6.30pm on Wednesday 27 February 2025. I give the date and time because I'd like Pizza Express senior management to note what we experienced. The pizzas were good, the staff were friendly and working their butts off, but there were not enough of them - two people to welcome, take orders, make drinks, serve food and drinks, and clear tables is ridiculous - cost-cutting gone crazy and will lose business. The staff didn't have time to clear tables so when we left at 7.15pm almost every table had uncleared plates, cutlery and glasses. The ambiance really spoiled our meal. We do not blame the staff; management, get a grip and spend some money on more staff.

Food was average, service was below par, constantly being asked when we want to order, told that we had 20 mins for desert and have to leave as the table was booked despite the restaurant being empty.. poor service overall.

Went out today to celebrate National Pizza Day in style. Although the wait was long, it was definitely worth it! Food was great and Ian was very friendly :)

We had a really good lunch here on what was a busy Saturday. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the pizza was very good. We'd happily go back.

Sadly, (Dec 30, early eve), huge staffing probs. Male 'Manager' very agitated, no contact whatsoever with 4, pre-booked customers, ourselves. It wasn't busy at all but other than Chef no sign of next shift. Rescued by truly delightful waitress who couldn't have been more helpful...so our post cinema visit was kinda rescued! [The restaurant was very cold too...rather uncomfortable in fact & therefore not overly inviting].

This was our first outing with our son since he found himself in a wheelchair. The staff were helpful and supportive to us as well as him and a potentially stressful situation was made to be the same relaxing and enjoyable experience it used to be before he got ill, thanks to their consideration and help. Thank you! We shall come again.

Two pizzas delivered while still very hot. Our thanks to Just Eat. Tried the new Quattro Formaggio - loved it although the blue cheese did overpower the others - maybe a slightly less strong blue cheese would be better. We much preferred the old recipe of the Margherita pizza - shame they changed it.

Pasta was burned, part of the order was missing and one of the pizzas was different to what we had ordered…

Had lunch here with family. Pizza's were tasty. I had a pasta dish which could have done with more sauce. Puddings were nothing special and over priced for portion size.

I enjoy to come to this pizzeria because of so friendly service from Ian. I would say that such friendliness, helpful, kind person - it’s really rare to meet in restaurants! And if pizza - then highly recommend Sloppy Giuseppe on Romana thin base - for people like me who like spicy. Big thanks to Ian for smile and a good mood!

Amazing staff! We were terrible customers arriving 30min late , to a busy restaurant, with kiddie and baby. Staff couldn’t have done more to help, with baby feeding and kiddie allowed to help make his pudding. Fantastic experience!

Usual good quality food, but prices have gone very steep. It was much darker than it needed to be and service was a bit slow.

Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help despite being busy. Excellent food that arrived promptly and was all piping hot.

Booked this late online at 17.45 on a Sunday evening for 19.30. On arrival we were told that there were no tables, only table available was in the basement but there was no service there. Manager took us down as it was too late to go somewhere else, did take our orders and the drinks arrived on time. She went off after a long shift and after 20 minutes 3 very small starters arrived. After 1 hour we checked and the waitress admitted they had forgotten about us. When the food finally arrived I got what can only be described as a burned poppadom with a thin layer of tomato sauce and scant toppings. £16.75 was the price. The Legere pizzas for the rest of the table were not much better. The Chefs must have lost the will to live , or the Pizza Express chain is cutting back on expenses. We left without getting dessert as we wanted to be home by midnight. Avoid until improvements are made.

Pizza made after 1 hour and worst rock hard and burnt including the garlic bread, was not offered a refund just an apology 😞

Alice and Ian provided an exceptional experience! Alice began our service with a warm, polite demeanor that set a positive tone right from the start. Ian wrapped things up with such vibrant energy, making the entire interaction truly enjoyable. It was fantastic connecting with Ian in Spanish, and I was even more impressed by the touch of German he shared—truly making me feel at home. Their professionalism, combined with personal and welcoming touches, made the service unforgettable. I will definitely be back!

Had a table booked for 2pm, stood waiting around being ignored by staff to then be told our table wasn't ready?? Im sorry but there should be better organisation for table booking, will not be coming again.

Food is great, but was missing Tiramisu added to the bundle, boxes not labeled just numbers, what I thought was the dessert turned out to be the salad for the side.

I ordered a pizza from here. It arrived inedible and looked like someone’s had their fingers in it. Not to mention that it was cold but I wouldn’t have attempted to eat it anyway as I’m pregnant and this it’s disgusting. Uber eats won’t refund me. Horrible, never again.

Ordered from uber eats the other day, driver made a mistake in not waiting around for the pizzas to be put together with the rest of the order, so we got delivered all the starters but no mains. Spoke with the restaurant staff, they gave us a 20% discount in store voucher and the manager on duty that day, cannot remember his name unfortunately, took upon himself to deliver the pizzas to us. They even baked us new pizzas so they'd be delivered warm as expected. Truly the best service I've ever witnessed from any establishment. They even added a brownie as an apology, even though it wasn't their fault to begin with.

Fabulous food and served by extremely courteous staff. Our food order was somewhat delayed as it was a very busy evening, but Alice looked after us very well and we left feeling we'd had a lovely meal and a very happy evening. Thank you to all the very hardworking staff.

We had a fabulous lunch here with excellent service and care from Ian. He was very attentive and considerate of one of our party with a severe gluten allergy. Would highly recommend!

We’ve been visiting Pizza Express a lot recently ever since moving to Leamington Spa and today we were served by Ian who was very warm and welcoming, processing our order very fast and efficiently. The food is delicious and always a classic takeaway for us. Overall outstanding service and definitely the place to visit when in Leamington Spa!

2 hours wait for a pizza, they don’t even answer their phone. Horrible experience . Even the rider got bored of waiting so it cancelled and they needed to find another one 😡

Absolutely awful. Over an hour later than delivery time. Food cold and tasted awful. Missing items too.

Our server was so kind, we went for my 21st birthday and i didn’t get her name but she had a curly mullet and ear gauges and she made the experience so much more relaxed and enjoyable! So grateful to her and she was really cool too

Our kids had a fantastic time at the pizza express party experience. Ian was incredible at marshalling 19 under 8s and showed them how to work the dough and how to make their pizzas. We would wholeheartedly recommend this for birthday parties!

The pizza was barely warm by the time it arrived, then we realised that pizza wasn't cut. By the time we managed to cut it up pizza was cold. Would have tasted good if we were able to eat it when still hot.

Pizza toppings are nice but the dough tastes like frozen, factory produced doughballs. Chewy. For the price, there are so much better alternatives. This type of pizza is no longer special, now Neapolitan pizzas, made using FRESH dough are in demand and they cost less.

We went here with my hen party on Saturday and Ian was exceptional at serving a rowdy bunch of ladies, absolutely faultless made me feel so at ease and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble, thank-you so much!!

really awful service!! we waited over an hour for our food to arrive despite it not being busy on the evening we visited, there was 3 of us visiting who all gave uncomplicated orders (which they still managed to get wrong) we asked if we could have the bill which wasn’t brought over to us after 10/15 minutes of waiting so ended up going up to the till ourselves to pay. little regard for the slow service and no apology.

Manager and staff were excellent giving great service. Food was good, gave 3 stars on atmospheric due to the building having a high ceiling making it mega loud in there.

Staff were helpful but we didn’t stay long as it was incredibly noisy with young children. Couldn’t hear myself think let alone hear my family! I wouldn’t recommend if you want a conversation with anyone

Has smelt of damp the last few times we have visited. Today we ended up walking out as they didn’t advise that there were no pasta dishes when we were seated. It was clearly fairly quiet and they were trying to get customers in. My kids only wanted the pasta so we did end up having to leave. We said to the manager that he should have told us when we were seated and he shrugged and said something along the lines of it’s just one of those things. No attempt of an apology.

Absolutely awful. You couldn't have a table for 3 because they had some bigger tables in. 40 minutes wait to get a table. Even though plenty free! Stood waiting for 10 minutes before being even acknowledged! Last year the dough wasn't taken out of the freezer so couldn't serve us. Would not recommend. Staff are capable to cope. Went somewhere different and they just as busy. Less staff but fantastic staff and pizza

Pizza Express is always good quality and value for money, however the customer service at this restaurant sets it apart! The manager went above and beyond to make our visit accessible for a couple of our guests, seating us appropriately and lowering the music a little for their comfort. They were friendly and attentive without being too much so; which made a good experience into a perfect visit. Thank you for being so considerate and willing to do that little bit more for us, you really are fab and I am more than happy to recommend :)

When the one starter we ordered eventually arrived it was tasty and warm but it did take ages for it to arrive and it was only dough balls we ordered. We were half way through these then our main dishes landed.... not the greatest of timings there ladys and gents. The nice lady serving us was polite, cheerful and respectful. We sat in the conservatory area and it was freezing, I don't normally feel the cold and before the end of the meal we all had our coats on to keep warm, despite asking for the air-conditioning unit to be switched off (if was a rainy overcast day so need for it anyway). We have had great experiences from this restaurant in the past, quite a few times, but this time we left without dessert because we were so cold and the delayed food and bad timing left us with a very poor and sour experience. Such a shame and a little annoying considering the cost for 4 to eat here! Would I eat here again..... maybe, but there are other places that I would head too first as a result of this experience.

We hosted part of our child’s birthday party at Pizza Express in Leamington and so glad we did. I was expecting nothing but the ordinary in terms of experience but was v pleasantly surprised by the service and food, the staff going above and beyond including the attentive and speedy service especially from Tom. We were a large group and upon arrival, we were shown to our seats downstairs and the group soon settled in. Tom approached and introduced himself as the waiter - he was v polite, he clearly took being busy in his stride and was speculator at keeping up with different demands from our table /group and other tables too. Pleasant and kind and made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you. It was the small detail e.g. the restaurant got busier and we were informed that it’s a good time to order as the seating /bookings would soon increase. It did and we are glad we were informed and thankfully, listened too. Regular drink orders were prompt and help with the cake was fantastic too. Candles all lit, delivering it to the table and help with cutting it up (I’m sorry I can’t remember the ladies name but it was her first shift). The gluten free pizza was v v good ! Thanks to Tom and all the Pizza Express team - it’s made us want to come back soon(er) and we do not often visit PE. Just to add making the booking was v smooth too - I wanted to book downstairs seating, I visited PE and made the request and the acting manager called back within a few minutes as promised and our booking all confirmed as requested. I’ve marked down atmosphere as it did get v loud and it’s a bit tight for space downstairs but I’m not surprised, with the service we received, that it’s in demand and tables occupied !

The restaurant was immaculate inside and out. Food was hot, fresh, tasty and took with us what we could not finish. The team were amazing. Served by Dorina and another lady (apologies) and spoke to the chef on the way out to say thank you (he has been there over 20 years! The team could not have looked after us any better. Visited on a Monday evening when it was quite so good time to go!! Coffee was great and Limoncello was in stock! Signed up to the app on the night for free doughballs.

We went on a busy night and the staff was a staff member down. However, this did not hamper our meal in any way. The two staff members who served us we polite, helpful and all with smiles. The food was cracking as always. We tried something new today which was the Rainbow slaw. It was refreshing and lovely and will definitely be ordering that again. Our pizzas were cooked to perfection as were the dough balls and bruschetta! Even with a staff member short the staff did an amazing job. Well done to all! We will definitely return when we next visit Leamington Spa! 🖖

server ian was brilliant, very good service. I did not enjoy my meal however Ian took it off the bill and apologised.

We had the worst experience of eating a pepparoni pizza, it was too expensive and burnt in some pieces. Verry low quality, it was as thin as an onion shell.Though the service from the staff were nice. But would never recommend for anyone. We never had a very very bad experience like this.

Amazing food and service! That Nduja calzone was the best thing that happened to me today, and my daughter took her first steps in the morning.

Pizza Express has been in this location for many years and although we have been many times not visited in recent years. We were served by Ian who was very attentive and always has a smile. We could see that they were like that with all their tables. Service was good with short waits in between courses. We like PE pizzas but felt that they could do with a bit more flavour/herbs/spicing. The chilli oil helped.

We went today for my daughter’s 3rd birthday and I’m in absolute awe of the customer service we received. Ian, was amazing! They were amazing with my 2 children and made it extra special by bring over a dessert plate with happy birthday written on it. So attentive and cannot fault the customer service or the food. Will 100% be returning just for this. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left Ian was nothing but fantastic. Thank you again

I came here with my parents on Saturday. We hadn't booked, but that was no problem and we were greeted and seated by our server Ian. Ian was friendly, warm, and made us feel really welcome and looked after. We didn't feel rushed. The food came in good time and was delicious as always. Ian helped my dad with the App and I got a free Pizza Express cook book! Overall a lovely experience. We will be returning.

Just had a lovely meal at Pizza Express, Leamington Spa. Food was very good and service was excellent. Special mention goes to Ian who could not have been any more helpful or friendly. Despite being fairly busy he remained on top of our orders and cheerful. Thanks very much and we will be back again soon.
