Harry was an excellent waitor, the service here was amazing and the food was delicious

We went for the concert jazz sound was amazing food was good 2 cocktails for a tenner was great BUT after paying 25£ per ticket we were place in a table with low visibility were people and waitress were constantly passing by hitting the chairs due to the small space available, in conclusion way to many tables for the space available which made what could have been a great experience into a Dissapointing one, unfortunately a not returning customer

Great place but book ahead. What's not to like - decent pizza, beer and jazz in a speakeasy-type setting. 3 course meal (with app) for under £30, Great atmosphere and decent live music.

We went to the live show and listened to Cuban music. The band was very nice, the environment was very beautiful but the shop was very dirty!!!! It was in the basement and it smelled incredibly bad!!!!

Horrible service!! We were given the table but it was cleaned only after 10 mins of requesting it. Starters were ordered and it didn’t arrive until 45 mins. Upon asking they said support we had some issues. Ended up giving non veg dough ball’s even after confirming!! My wife had thrown up! Manager was just too arrogant to apologise!! Food took almost an ! My child was starved!! Worst experience ever!!!! All they did was have 20% off the main bill! Waiter still apologised but the manager didn’t bother!! Rude!!

Went to lunch today and had a lovely experience thanks to Grazie what a lovely waitress :)

This is a must and I would definately return to this place. All my favourite things in one. The staff were attentive once the night got going and everyone was seated but they do need to work on their beginning and end service. The atmosphere is amazing and the performance was entertaining. Good night out for anyone.

Worst pizza of my life. Just look at the photo 😂, it looks so sad. When I complained the waiter did nothing. I have no idea what the oil in the garlic oil was… zero flavour. Money making tourist trap scammers. Go to the place opposite!

Cozy place in the basement of pizza express with good food and great musical performance. We went there 21.01.2025 for the show. The only big con: the blonde lady serving us. We were seated in the back corner and she always squeezed past us to go to other tables, although there were atleast 2 other paths to go there. This really started to bother us after the 6th or 7th time. At one point she squeezed past and had our coat fall on the ground, only realising it when she was walking back. Had to dust off the coat after, since the ground wasn't completely clean. The other servers had no problems going the other ways to those same tables. The only unpleasant part of our visit.

I've been many times before but what a let down tonight. Left outside in the cold with other customers for 15 minutes because no one knew the dedicated entrance isn't used in the winter - a sign on the door would suffice. No longer can you use the app so no offers available (better to eat upstairs) and you can't pay your bill on the app like you always could before. A real backward step and no longer one of my first choice jazz venues in London.

Service from David was unforgettable! Food was so tasty as well but what made my dinner amazing was David’s service! He was very attentive and made me feel so welcomed. You don’t get that kind of service in London anymore, people don’t care but he did care a lot. Definitely recommend.

Went on a Friday evening with a group of 10. Service was quick and very friendly. It's a loud restaurant with lots of seating areas. Food was really tasty.

A great night out. Good food, and a super jazz set from Jeff Kashiwa. Soulful, funky and jazzy.

Terrible pizza, but good concert.

We visited here as a large group of 13 people. We mainly 90% of the group had ordered the xmas set menu deal. Only one person order separately. The service is on the slow side as it was very busy that evening. You really have to try hard to get attention. When the bill came we split the drinks and food separately and they actually over charged us because set menu for 3 course was around £30 each but when we decided split the food bill we end up paying more around £36 each. Anyway whoever did the calculations didn't question this at the time. (So it our own fault for not pointing that out to them). Other than that, the food was lovely when it finally arrived. There is a separate bar downstairs which is pretty cool.. bar and dance floor area where we got to see Bone N Rag singer artist.

Good food, adequate for the price of the city. Highlight the kindness and professionalism in the service of the blonde waitress. We will return!

Very good gluten-free pizzas although a little lacking in seasoning for our taste. The gluten-free one was good and they had the allergen issue under control. The service was good although the food took longer to come out than expected. The waitress who served us did a great job and apologized for the wait. During our visit they had some problem with the orders and a large delay was created. As customers you assume that there are moments of this type in the hospitality industry but a tense and strange atmosphere was created in the establishment. Many waiters were waiting in a pile for the dishes and arguing. It left a bad appearance and caused nervousness among the tables waiting for the dishes. People saw many workers standing and their dishes took time. Obviously I would give them a second chance.

Brilliant atmosphere had really go spot at the venue but one thing really bug me was being escorted to seat and left , not single person came to my table for 20 minutes, people arrivined after us were served within 5 I had go to bar even then wasn't straightforward forward , manger could made effort but didn't so services marked make down food was good ,after wait they were excellent but manager should be making sure that sort thing doesn't happen ...I'll try again but wait while it worth visit , it's great way to watch artists performing

Wanted to eat and drink there and they had no water or coke?! Also the staff was very unfriendly and didn’t even offer alternatives

The food is great like any other pizza express however the service absolutely sucked. The server we had didn't talk to us for 20 minutes after seating, which is fine, but we were trying to call over servers for 10 mins. After that the food came nice and quickly, but after eating it took a long time for the plates to be cleared and even longer to get the pudding menu. The food again, came quickly, but when we went to get the bill, our server gave us the receipt and left. it has been twenty minutes and counting and people who were seated a good half an hour after us are leaving. we have somewhere we need to be and our server has not returned.

The blonde one tried to gave my family and I the worst table, while a couple other tables were already prepared. After we asked her to switch tables, she told us to wait 5 mins with an arrogant voice. We left.

We wanted a table for 6 and the gentlemen at the door just said they don’t have but there were 3 tables empty. We also said that we will take two tables one for 4 people and another for two people as we wanted to split the bill anyway. But he said they cannot help us. Was a very bad experience

We visited this busy Pizza Express restaurant for dinner tonight and were warmly welcomed by a team member and promptly seated at our table. Despite how busy it was, the service was exceptional and the food was very delicious! It was impressive to see all the staff members working together so seamlessly, including the managers, who were actively supporting the team to ensure the best service for all customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely be returning! :)

A paradise for jazz lovers and pizza lovers! An extraordinary ambience

The gluten-free pizza was good, but the service of the waiter that day was terrible. A lack of respect and education, I don't know if it's because we were tourists but what a shame. I don't recommend it.

Unfortunately had to wait 40 mins to be seated, despite having a reservation. But great food and Nihal was an excellent and attentive server once we were sat.

Don't go to Dean Street during Christmas or theatre time. Even if you book you will have to wait 45mins for a table.

We were a party of 13 and had dinner at Pizza Express on 22 December. Harry (the manager) was very welcoming, friendly and entertaining. We built up a great rapport with him and In fact, towards the end of our evening, he spent about 15 minutes at our table talking with all of us - including with the kids. Great guy! And Nihal, our waiter, was very friendly as well. Great service and food. Would thoroughly recommend this Pizza Express.

To start with, the food and service was great thanks for the staffs hard work , most of the problem comes from squeezing in too many tables with chairs stuck on the end, scared to move in case you elbow someone behind, also we'd booked the table for 12 , at 1.30 certain staff were very obviously trying to get us out of the restaurant as the next booking had turned up, maybe review your timings for parties of more than 4, I don't think we dawdled eating our food, but we were obviously not quick enough

We had Vesna as our waitress this evening and she was lovely and very attentive - super friendly service and great food - only thing I’d say is that the lighting is quite harsh!

The only reason we came to this place was to listen to jazz. Nowhere on the pizza express website is it mentioned that for this you need to buy tickets on ANOTHER website. This is a big disappointment, especially on a birthday. Then there was the service - I didn’t notice it at all, the waiter was waiting for a very long time, there were clearly not enough of them for the whole room. Food - the pizza is quite good, the dough is tasty and very thin, juicy, there are not many ingredients. When it came to paying, their terminals stopped working, we waited 20 minutes... I didn’t like the atmosphere, very crowded, noisy, poor ventilation.

Amazing Italian restaurant We didn't have to wait long before we got a table and the food arrived quickly and it was delicious. Highly recommended

Richard, our server, was really excellent. He took care of us straight away and just helped us out throughout and was super thoughtful. Our food came fast and was really tasty, despite it being so busy. Best service we have had anywhere for ages. Thank you Richard!

The worst Pizza I've ever tried. The pizza base was tough, dry and chewy...no way....the supermarket frozen pizzas are much better. Service really friendly and atmosphere was really nice. Pity...

Chaotic or non-existant service. You're just waiting at the door for 20 mins in a tiny space, whilst everyone is pushing past you. Both toilets were out of order, leaving one for hundreds of people to use.

Take away. Quick and tasty double pepperoni with hot honey hit the spot.

We went with our 3 year old who had a change of heart about her food when they brought it. The manager, paying attention to the fact that she was raiding my plate and not eating hers, came over to ask if her food was ok (which it was). After my daughter stated her preference for pasta, the manager ordered a complementary plate, which made our little one extremely happy. This gesture will make us keep coming back. Plus the food was really good.

The food took a long time to arrive. There was a lot of confusion and the staff seemed to be taking the wrong dishes to the wrong tables. When ours eventually arrived, my pizza was raw in the middle. I didn't complain because I had waited such a long time for my food and needed to leave. The waiter who collected my plate didn't say a word. He could see a load of uncooked dough on there, but chose to ignore it. There was also a concert going on downstairs. Only one toilet in the whole place was open. There was a non-stop queue for it. What a disappointing experience.

As regular visitors to different Pizza Express venues - the kids love it - we were quite disappointed by this branch. The service was chaotic and, to be honest, a little weird (one of the staff seemed to think it was an inconvenience that we should be there, and they seemed to have too many staff standing around the kitchen. Someone messed up and they seemed to leave our starters sitting too long and/or cook our mains too quick, so we had starters that were a bit on the cool side and had to wait for our pizzas to be remade. When they came, 1 was burned, and one pizza (with vegan cheese on) was encrusted on the bottom with burned mozzarella, and poorly made with minimal toppings. By this point we just wanted to eat and get out.

Overall one of the much better Pizza Expresses! Food was cooked fresh and to a good standard. Service was quick and very polite with a friendly smile. The only downside was the downstairs toilets weren't open. This meant the entire restaurant were waiting/queuing for just 1 toilet. Not ideal but I assume this isn't standard/normal!

Served great pizzas but i've eaten better ones. The pizza was nice and crispy, not too cheesy, just the right consistency. There was also no crust (but i think you can customise it). Service was also great in general, cery friendly staff and always there to help us. The atmosphere was quite good, kinda sad we didn't see a jazz band performing though. Overall nice place and its good if you like some nice hot pizzas.

Very cramped downstairs with only two servers for all the guests. Music was good but there were soo many tiny tables crammed into a small space that we didn’t have a good view of the stage. Also only one toilet was open for the whole restaurant which led to long waits.

Fantastic, everybody in my group got something that they loved. The food is great, a good choice for people that need gluten free or vegan options. The service is exceptional. Loved it!

Phil and I had such a lovely time here tonight. We were welcomed so kindly at the door and sat at where we liked. Emmy looked after us all evening and she was incredible. Our orders where taken as soon as we were ready, and she was so attentive all night, but not overbearing. She was so kind and her smile lit up our table! She recommended the pizza express app and we were very happy with the rewards. The pizza was delicious and the service was amazing. We will definitely be coming back!

In the basement there is an excellent room for jazz concerts. I saw a beautiful jazz show. The food is embarrassing, I didn't try the pizza. I had an orange flavored gin cocktail, embarrassing.

The truth is, the food is ok, a pizza that is delicious, especially very good Massa, it is thin and crispy but in terms of quantity and price, wow, it leaves a lot to be desired, it is a steal +20 pounds per pizza. They also add a 12.5% ​​optional taxi service if there are more than 7 of you. What frustrates me is that they tried to charge us even though there were 3 and 4 people at separate tables because they wouldn't want to put them together. I would recommend looking for a better option, honestly.

Ésme se decidió por la pasta de tomate y Violeta fue directo a por la boloñesa. Mientras esperaba los llevé al baño. 😶‍🌫️🥶😨 Sin comentarios... ¡Entonces sus deliciosas bolas de masa vinieron y fueron puestas! Lo siguiente fue la pasta. 1 ⭐️ El de Ésme era demasiado cremoso y el de Violeta estaba terriblemente mal cocinado. Era tan chistoso que tuvo que escupir uno bastante quemado en su servilleta y en realidad estaba amordazada. Adivina por qué se llama PIZZA express. No cojas la pasta. Todavía estábamos llenos de esperanza después de pedir nuestros brownies después de ver el de otra niña, de aproximadamente 14 años. ¡Parecía un poco gooey y tenía helado encima! 🍨! Aunque el del menú infantil sólo decía : azúcar glas y una fresa, claro que seguiría teniendo helado. Luego vinieron. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Amazing atmosphere and experience overall. Very nice pizza as expected, but the jazz group (Matt Carter's Octet) were the best part. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes jazz or pizza.
