Excellent service despite being very busy.

We sadly received disgusting service during our recent visit to Pizza Express at Tower Park. Last Tuesday I went to this restaurant with my daughter, my friend and her two children. Upon being seated we informed the waitress straight away that we would be splitting the bill and that my friend had Tesco's vouchers to use and that I'd like to make use of their kids eat free offer. The waitress quite abruptly told us we would not be allowed to split the bill and make use of both these offers whilst being seated at the same table. We questioned this as it seemed a little strange and she reluctantly said she'd check with the manager but as we sat there for the next ten minutes we watched as she served other customers but failed to speak to any management on our behalf. When she finally returned she simply reiterated quite rudely that we could not split the bill whilst being seated at the same table. We therefore asked if we might be moved to the empty tables directly behind us which were separate but close enough together for us all to be able to still talk. The waitress then told us that if we wanted to use both Tesco vouchers and make use of the offer on separate bills we'd have to be sat "far apart" and she motioned to opposite ends of the restaurant! My friend began to politely question this but before she could finish her sentence, the waitress sighed, rolled her eyes and walked off! We sat aghast for a few moments, unsure as to what just happened, then had to gather our belongings and leave. We walked straight into Pizza Hut opposite, and received the most wonderful service by comparison. Almost a week on and I still cannot believe the rudeness of this waitress and the poor service we experienced. Even our children were shocked at the eye rolling!

Normally, in a Pizza Express, I go for the pizza and am rarely disappointed. Nice size and usually adequate toppings. Last time I went for the lasagne. Nicely layered, didn't collapse when cutting it, and tasted really good. Today, though, at Tower Park, the lasagne choice left me underwhelmed. The pizzas came out and looked good. I had food envy... The lasagne placed before me was sizzling around the edges, nice and hot with just the right amount browning on top. Like it! However, the general appearance and consistency was one of an Asda microwave meal lasagne, cooked on high for 4 minutes. It was saggy and spread out, barely holding shape and certainly not the built up, layered look and feel of what a lasagne should be, like other Pizza Express restaurants produced in the past. Taste wise, it was OK. Somewhat better than a £3.50 option from a supermarket. Actually, it was convincingly better, taste-wise, than a microwave meal version. For the £14 or so it cost, I would not expect anything else. Sadly, though, it wasn't making me want to have the lasagne again. It now feels a bit hit and miss. As for the restaurant, it was only serving 4 tables, so while the food came out fairly quickly, the atmosphere was lacking, but that wasn't their fault. I was also offered parmesan cheese, but that never arrived. Yes, I could have gone to find it or my server myself. It just felt that once offered and accepted, the server literally went off to get it but carried on doing other things, rather being a bit more attentive. I am just saying how it is and don't want to be too critical. All the other food choices at our table were good. I would still return, as Pizza Express is usually an easy choice, and we know what to expect. Drinks are way overpriced, but a jug of water is free! Maybe just remember my review if you fancy giving the lasagne a go. It might be OK, it might not. The pizza is generally consistent with a great choice.

Pizza is good, of course. However most of there starters/sides are quite underwhelming. Calamari is okay and dough balls are good. Overall solid pizza lots of choice.

Can I just give a shotout to the waitress Hazel. She is absolutely fantastic! We come once a month. She recognises us everytime and always makes us feel so welcome. Even when she is not serving our area, she makes the effort to say hello to us and talk. She's always great with all the customers and is an assest to the restraunt! She always makes you want to come back 😊 The rest of the team are brilliant too and work really hard to make a great experience. 😃

This is our regular pizza place whenever we are in the area on holiday. We always use our Tesco vouchers to take some money off the bill and we have never had any issues. The restaurant is clean and spacious and always quiet when we visit, which is usually midweek. The food is lovely and because it is a chain restaurant, you know what you are getting, so we never have any issues. On my most recent visit, I needed to breastfeed my baby and felt very comfortable in doing so. The waitress was very lovely and made me feel welcome to do so in the restaurant. Shame I didn’t catch her name, but she was excellent, so polite and friendly. Baby changing facilities are good and it was easy to get a buggy in and out. Great place to go if you want to also visit all the family activities near by.

Good evening, the food tasted great however sadly it was stone cold before I started eating.

I have just paid £16 for this meal, meals £8!!! For 3 small buttermilk chicken tenders??? Is that a joke 😂 and £7 for a tiny garlic pizza bread which made 3 small slices. Will never order here again.

Don’t go if you’re hungry. £14.95 for a lasagne, 2-3 cm in depth, prepackaged and microwaved on site. Massively overpriced and average quality.

The pizza was more like a pita bread with minimal amount of toppings, a lot of sauce doesn't make it better. The squid rings where - 0 salt and pepper, soggy and more like wet than deep fried.

Worst experience by far - want a refund. Placed an order at 6.30 with an expected delivery time of 7.10-7.30pm. Was informed by the app the restaurant was prepping my order. It then got to 7pm and the delivery time increased, and continued to do so to the point where I phoned the restaurant at 7.25pm who informed me they’d only received the ticket from just eat at 7.12pm. We got our foot at 8pm having waited an hour and a half. It would have been quicker for me to walk to tower park and back!

Seriously annoyed. Not only is the food 40 minutes late, it’s missing the double dough balls which made up a good portion of the meal. Also missing child’s drink that come as part of the order. I don’t understand why 1. Pizza express sent the order with items missing and 2. The just eat guy didn’t check the order before taking it. Ridiculous level of service.

I ordered 2 garlic butter dip. And only received 1 pot which was barely half filled...

This pizza express has become a regular place to go out for any occasion in our family and it’s a wonderful experience every time. The service is amazing, and the staff are absolutely lovely. We mentioned it was one of our birthdays and our waitress came out with a birthday brownie and a candle without us even asking!! Such a great atmosphere and the food always hits the spot. Piping hot and delicious every time. We’ll definitely keep coming here in the future!!!

We had booked in advance for our son's birthday for Sunday lunchtime. When we were arrived we were greeted by a lovely waitress who let our birthday boy pick the table. The whole experience was great! Drinks and olives arrived promptly, kid's starter and then all of our mains together. The espresso martini was delicious and they sang happy birthday to our son when they brought out his dessert with a candle in and happy birthday in icing sugar. It was a wonderful lunch with perfect service. Thank you!

The waitress that served deserves an award. At the last moment we booked a table for 15 for my sons birthday. They were extremely accommodating and made his day very special. I thank you for everything in assisting in making his day special from making sure we had a great meal to presenting the birthday cake fantastically. You've helped make memories that will last for years and, as a single father, I thank you for your support

Great taste but very disappointed with the amount of prawns on it nothing like the pictures on the website you get 8 prawns if your lucky. I would not go back because of this every expense for wot you get. Drinks are expensive to.

I took my family on Monday 04/12/2023 evening for a special occasion to us. The restaurant was very busy for a Monday evening. Big thank you to the waitress Hazel for handling so well doing her job so professionally as always with smile on her face. Thank you to the whole team the food was delicious and on time

Visited at the start of December for a birthday treat. Very welcoming waitress. Food was hot and fresh. We had pizzas and pasta and of course garlic dough balls. We also tried the snowballs for dessert and they were a hit! The honeycomb slice was also very good. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Only been a couple of times, Ordered 2 adult pizzas and a child pizza and child pasta. We received all the pizzas quick but waited 25+ mins (after we got our meals) for the child pasta to come out given we had all finished our meals before she had even started waitress was very nice. When you have kids you need there meals out first if anything, spent over £90.00 for dinner and quite frankly unless there was a big sale on I won’t be going back, it’s a shame as it could be a nice place, we go out at least 5 times a month for the last 6 years and have never had anything like it, very premium price for not so premium everything else. As stated waitress was very helpful and kept on top of clearing and drinks

As someone who is a VERY picky eater, it is hard for me to find a place to eat where I don’t order chicken goujons or a plain burger but at pizza express, I can customise any of the food to my liking It always makes the experience better when a restaurant has a good atmosphere and tower park does just that. The staff are kind, helpful and are always happy to cater to your needs and the chefs aren’t hidden away so you can see your food being made right in front of you. Would recommend and would definitely go again :)

Always lovely service, very fast. We were going to the cinema and had 40 minutes to eat before we had to go. Our waitress Hazel was very helpful and fast and the food was amazing as always. Thank you to the whole team for always being so nice.

My parents came to visit for uni so we went to tower park and stopped at pizza express. Usually because we're young they dont treat us well but I always feel welcome at the pizza express here. I want to say a big thank you to our waitress Hazel that served us she was very friendly. We'll definitely come back again

The food was absolutely amazing

The menu had changed and although I was expecting a pasta dish it was actually a salad (though it wasn't under a salad heading). Unfortunately I can't remember the name but it was basically breaded chicken with a few salad leaves and tomatoes. Wasn't bad.. but I can't say I'd recommend it. Service was wonderful, the atmosphere was good and the restaurant itself is lovely. Next time I think ill stick to the pizza..

I love coming to Pizza Express in Poole, the staff are so friendly and the pizzas are like a work of art. The refurb looks brilliant.

Come every month as they do great gluten free pizza, dough balls and deserts. Toppings always plentiful, service quick even when busy, and always with a smile too. Restaurant has had a very nice refit too.

Lovely service, great pizza = great night. The space is nicely divided into open and more intimate areas so ideal for whatever the occasion - enjoy good pizza and good company with good service.

The restaurant rang me saying that the driver never turned up. The order finally arrived at 19:00 completely cold.

Great service, but pizza toppings were very scarce, more passata than anything, pizzas are not cut, never heard of having to cut a pizza with a knife and fork, won't be returning

I have been to Pizza Express all over the country and I’m so glad that Tower Park is my closest. The restaurant has just been refurbished and it is such a nice atmosphere to be in. We sat at the back of the restaurant, there were new seats, new tables and the decor was very nice. We were met at the door, welcomed and taken to our table by Monica :) Zorelis was our waitress. She was welcoming, charming and so friendly. As a gold member on the app I ordered whatever I wanted and the rewards are were so generous especially as I used my ‘birthday treat reward’. As I am a vegetarian, Zorelis suggested a pizza off the vegan menu which was great but I do love an American Hot Romana with Jackfuit and all the peppers (yum!) Although the Side of polenta chips had been forgotten (they did come) the pizza was soooooooooo good tbh we didn’t even need the side. This was the BEST PIZZA I have ever had from Pizza Express. The chef’s here are just incredible. You must have chilli and garlic oils with the pizza. We shared a desert and a coffee which finished the meal off just perfect. Thank you to everyone at Pizza Express. Best meal we’ve had in a long time :)

Had my granddaughter’s 6th birthday party last night. Staff very attentive, knowledgable and helpful. Food was brilliant and most important both grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. Well done all the staff.

Driver stated he was at restaurant 20 minutes before he actually got there. Restaurant called me stating they were waiting on the driver, food had been ready for 20 minutes before collected.

This is NOT a good restaurant. Astonishingly, when my food arrived (chicken pizza) it was cold. I asked for a new one because I didn’t want chicken reheated. The chef, small man with a beard and very aggressive individual, proceeded to slam oven door, slam fridge door and glare at myself. A few moments later my old Pizza was returned.!! I politely stated that I didn’t want to eat reheated chicken which had been cold to the touch. The chef then started the process of glaring, shouting and was intimidating..!! OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVIOUR..

I booked a table to celebrate my grand sons birthday. When we arrived we received a friendly welcome. We had decided to just share our meals. The starter was ordered came after some time with just 2 and a bit chicken dippers, Pollo Milanese . Plus they were just warm. We ordered a pizza , a Duo Romana with 2 separate toppings. It took quite some time for the pizza to be delivered , which was just plonked down on the table without any pizza slicers. We had to wait for a waitress to ask for one. The pizza was only just warm and toppings scant, to say the least. I had 4 prawns on my half and 1 slice of mozorella, plus loads of runny tomato sauce. The pizza base was very thin, which is my favourite base. But was soggy and tasteless. The Brownie and ice cream was delicious and the Tiramisu was quite nice, but gloopy and did not taste of coffee and alcohol. Our overall feelings of the evening was extremely disappointing, however the waitresses, apart from one, were charming and helpful. Because it was a birthday celebration I did not complain as I would normally.

Pretty good- fab range is dietary requirements needed (we are vegan and there is loads of options) the whole time we were there there was dirty blue roll and a cleaning spray right behind my sons chair and its things like this which are just a little thoughtless. Can't fault the food tho 😋

Just the best experience. We went after splashdown so we were all very hungry. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and were even excited to see our 9 month old. The food was really good and made really quickly and even though our little guy made a mess (which we cleaned up) none of the staff said anything. They kept checking in on us and making sure everything was ok they were really sweet about our son and I wish I had taken their names so I could let Pizza Express know how great their staff were. Highly recommend heading into this restaurant to eat, I really hope you get the same service we did it was exceptional!

Pizzas were excellent and so was the service. WC’s were clean as was the table and restaurant itself. Young Sophie Williams, the waitress, was smart, engaging, warm and friendly and efficient. I will most certainly return next time I visit Poole. Well done Sophie! Derek J Morgan (Wokingham)

I often come to this restaurant with my family. I can't fault the friendly and professional service and the pizzas are cook to perfection.

Asked for no eggs or anchovies. Covered in eggs and anchovies. It was even in bold on the label on the bag but ignored. Lettuce wasn’t fresh. Few chunks of lettuce ends and a lot of brown leaves.

Pizza was great, base was light and fluffy and tasted amazing

When we're in Poole it's a regular stop and we are always made to feel very welcome and are looked after brilliantly. Kayleigh is always very welcoming and was great remembering us from last time and found us somewhere perfect to sit. We were then amazingly looked after by Hazel who know the menu very well and helped us with our order and then was a joy to speak with during our meal. Thanks to the team at Pizza Express. Look forward to coming back.

We always start with olives and sun blush tomatoes, this time we added a bruschetta which was made from pizza dough. It was ok but we wouldn’t have it again. The veggie pizza was loaded, the American hot is good as always. The desserts in my opinion are overpriced, it was £6.50 for a coffee and one very small portion of ice cream or £7.50 for a small portion of fudge cake. All together it came to about £74.00 for both of us … a nice evening but expensive for what it is. The staff and service were brilliant, so friendly despite being run off their feet.

Family group of 4 at 8pm on a fairly busy Saturday night. We had booked but the restaurant was really busy and we had to wait a while for our table - it wasn't long only 5 - 10 mins and the staff kept us informed which was absolutely fine! Nobody minds waiting as long as you know what is happening. Starters came out quite quickly and were very good... No complaints about drinks either... But we then had a very long wait for main courses after starters had been cleared... the restaurant was emptying out quite a bit at this point, so I'm not sure what the delay was, but we had to chase up our order... When it came over 2 of the 4 main courses were fine... but 2 of the mains weren't great... Fiorentina Pizza was overcooked and I think it had been sat on the pass for ages. Could hardly cut it and was dry... The rocket salad looked like it had been left out in the sun all day... We returned the pizza and the rocket salad and asked them to be deducted from the bill, which they were... But that's not the point... We had waited an eternity for food to arrive and anyone with any sort of quality standards that had looked at it would not have sent it out! Our waitress even looked at the pizza and rocket salad and said, "they don't look great, do they..." I couldn't be bothered to wait for them to remake the pizza - we had waited for around 30 mins from starters being cleared to the mains arriving at that point... I didn't want to wait any longer for one person to sit and eat on their own... The waitress was lovely - really apologetic and had been very friendly throughout. However, if she agreed that the pizza & rocket salad looked pretty terrible - then why did she bring them to the table? Why didn't she give them back to the kitchen to remake them? Apparently, one of the "good" pizzas that we have received had also been remade because the first attempt was not up to scratch... It felt a little bit as if they were just trying to see if they could get away with the other items being poor but hoping we wouldn't say anything! It's pizza guys... It's not Michelin star food... Just get it right before you send it out... If it isn't right, then don't send it out, otherwise it will just get returned and you will receive a review on Tripadviser that will do even more harm! The poor quality food just spoilt what should have been a good experience.

Lasagna and polenta chips were delicious and hot. Bit disappointed as they forgot my dough sticks that were an add on for the Lasagna so I can't get a refund for them either..

Food would have been enjoyable if hot or warm and I paid for the classic coca-cola with suger tax to receive a diet coke so overall disappointing

Absolutely great atmosphere, service and the food was absolutely amazing! The manager was absolutely amazing and very friendly. The kitchen looked to be having a good time and we’re all smiling. I give this pizza express a 10/10 and I will defiantly be returning soon!!

My delivery didn’t arrive, even though the app said it had. Also impossible to actually contact a human being to raise a complaint and request a refund.

Order takeout from them regularly. Pizzas are always cooked to perfection and a much nicer option to the usual dominos / Pizza Hut. Keep up the good work
