Pizza Express in Tamworth

It’s our 5/6th time coming here! We always come as a 8 table booking! The food is always amazing and the consistently good! However the service is just lacking every time! It always take a good 5 mins or more for the host to serve us every time we have been! Then our server just never circles back to take orders or give bills! I have always had to get up and go to get someone’s attention. Don’t take me wrong- the servers are great but they are so slow in providing the service

Waited a while to be seated, no real interaction from the staff, just ticking a box. We must be too British because we weren't that impressed with menu choice in sizes and no choice in base thickness. And the side orders, to be honest, were rubbish. Where's the chips/fries, we're British, lol. My wife asked for the garlic butter dip, and it was a lump of butter!!!! Had to chase for the bill so we could leave. Acoustics were bad, people talking and noises bouncing around, making it hard for us to hear each other. Sorry, Pizza Express Tamworth, we won't be dining with you again 😔

My experience was phenomenonal and the waitress we had at our table was just fabulous. She always smiled and the smile was definitely contagious.

My self and my partner have just been for dinner and it was lovely. We were served by Dani who was kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice meal. I had the American hot pizza and it was one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had.♥️😊

A huge thank you to the staff that worked on the evening of Saturday 25th. The customer service could not have been any better and I am very grateful for the help I received from the manager on shift, I believe his name was Sam. After encountering an issue with a third party delivery service, Sam was quick to offer a resolution to rectify the problem that had occurred (not on behalf on Pizza Express) which was greatly appreciated especially when he wasn’t obliged to help in any way. Excellent attitude even when the restaurant was busy in itself! Thank you! :)

Pizza Express was a psychedelic circus, where reality danced on a thin crust. The food was a divine intervention—every bite a hallucination of flavours. The atmosphere thrummed like a jazz club in the dead of night, alive and pulsing. Service was a surreal tango, efficient yet erratic. Our waitress, bless her, floated through her own dimension, a ghostly wraith amidst the pizza euphoria. A trip worth taking, where even the madness had its own charm.

Paid good money for a meal on collection, I specifically asked for the pizza to be cut up, Daniel failed to do so, so I walked in and asked for a pizza cutter to be met with a cocky attitude. Pizza was nice, once I cut it up properly.

Visited on a busy Saturday with my family including two young children. The waiter was lovely ( although we didn’t catch his name) and the service was great, as was the food! Have already booked again for my daughters birthday in a few weeks- a fab menu for little ones Thanks again

Today we've had my daughters 9th birthday party at pizza express, Tamworth. It was FANTASTIC!! All children had a great time and loved their pizza's. Danny was fabulous, a really lovely man who is an credit to the place, him and his team couldn't do enough for us. I'm sure my son will be asking for his party there too. Thank you x

Haven't been to pizza express for years and I've got to say the quality has drastically reduced. Should've gone to papa John's to be honest. Really disappointment. Not only that the prices for antipasti was disgusting - £3.95 for "tomatoes" - sun-dried? No. Salad? Nope. Some weird half-cooked cold tomatoes - bleh! I've got to say, the sundae was pretty good (although the ultimate chocolate cake was 'ultimately' below average) However I do have to praise the staff - they were all lovely.

First time at this branch and the front of house staff, Dannie I think his names was, did an amazing job. Whenever we had an issue he was there to help!

I collect my takeout on the promised time pretty much every time, it was not a massive issue to have to wait a few minutes extra on a busy Friday evening. Food was nice, the pestospinachchicken pizza looked a bit plain, but tasted great. Bloke at the entrance kept his cool exceptionally well despite very rude delivery drivers complaining that their order was not ready "right now" on a Friday evening of all. Or that they had already given him the order number and why he couldn't remember it... The guy was only trying to chase things for them, keep them in the loop. Anyway, well done guy!

My daughter’s 10th birthday party at pizza express Tamworth today. Danny & Gabby were brilliant, entertaining the children, helping them make their pizzas & making sure everything ran smoothly. Really enjoyed by all & great value! Thank you x

Great food friendly service cosy atmosphere

I really enjoyed my dining experiance here, i went on the 27th of december with my 2 kids. It is really reasonably priced and the food is delicious. Caitlin was an amazing server and made sure we had everything and the correct food/drinks. Would come again

Visited last Thursday 12th December. Was welcomed by such a fantastic young man with the same surname as one of my friends; Price. Really sorry cannot remember his first name. He was so enthusiastic and energetic and welcoming. A real asset to pizza express. Well done!!

Honestly, one of the most amazing meals out I have had in a long while. The service was amazing start to finish, we had Sam as out server and he was so welcoming, warm and friendly- offered recommendations, got water for the table and came and checked on us. His table service and mannor was a credit to Pizza express, the best waiter we’ve had in a long while, thank you!! Had the prawns to start and an American hottest pizza and both were incredible- severed hot, flavoursome and not a long wait either. Not one to leave a lot of reviews but this place really deserves it, especially to make us feel this special on a busy Friday night. Thank you!

Dropped in rather than booked a table at the Tamworth PE. It was VERY busy. Server organised us a table within 15 mins. Ordered , food was a bit delayed, mozarella Garlic bread was undercooked but the pizzas were well cooked and piping hot.

It was awful, three of our plates came out stone cold. A short black hair was found in one of the meals. our starter plates did not get taken away we had to put them on a different table.

Very odd atmosphere from the start. The restaurant was empty but the front of house was still not very welcoming. It’s also cold in there. Servers were too busy texting instead of clearing tables. When they took our order instead of pardon she said ‘you what?!’. Very unprofessional. Mozzarella sticks were inedible they were soaked in grease even after I tried to dry them off in a napkin. My main concern is that you need to check your receipt - they tried to overcharge me for a few things and when I questioned this the waitress admitted that she didn’t have the code to apply festive menu deal and she had also priced up the childrens menu individually which was twice as expensive - very underhand in my opinion. Would not visit there again nor would I advise others to.

Came to Pizza express on saturday and only half of our order came after waiting for 40 minutes, no checkback and no apology from the waiters just said they would take it off the bill. i wouldn’t recommend going here if you want good customer service.

Our school came for a Pizza Express Trip - the children had great fun making Margherita pizzas, enjoyed a topping taster session and got to take their delicious pizzas back to school. They have not stopped talking about it since. The staff there were great and very accommodating - thank you for hosting us!

Overall a really good experience. Starters and mains were great. Kids meal was also very good. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. Staff in the main were attentive. But they did slow up their service after the lunch rush. I think they all went on break. There is no signal here. So that was really embarrassing and awkward trying to retrieve my e gift cards off email. It really slowed us up. Also, for anyone of authority in the Pizza Express organisation. Your ultimate Chocolate Fudgecake currently on offer for £9.95 is truly awful. A dry product. I couldn't believe no fudge sauce, ice cream or cream to go with it. Terrible product. So all in pretty good but could have been better.

We had great service and a superb couple of pizzas here while we were in Tamworth on a shopping trip. There was something about the pizzas that was just extra special, and the service was friendly, helpful and informative. The atmosphere wasn't brilliant because it wasn't very full, wrong time of day for most people but it suited us. The restaurant was very smart and clean and they have a Hygiene Rating of 5, the best there is!! Great! Keep up the good work!!

Good food, fast service and a very efficient waiter. We both had spicy food the American pizza and chicken and chorizo pasta. Hot and delicious.

Great pizzas can be a bit bizzy with noisy kids on Saturdays and parking can be difficult

We had my daughters 7th Birthday Party at the Tamworth branch this morning (7th September) There were 10 kids in total and they had an amazing time !!! The host (Italy) was so good with them, teaching them how to make the pizzas and entertaining them for 2 hours!! The chef let the kids watch him make up the pizza bases and garlic bread. They all want to work in Pizza Express when their older!! Thank you so much for a great time guys !! I think we might be seeing you again next year !!

Me and my Mom had a meal here last night and just wanted to say how lovely the female waitress was that served us. She was in her 20’s I’d say, had dark hair and was really polite and friendly. She happily took a photo for us when we asked and kept checking if there was anything else we needed for our table. Thank you for the lovely meal. You’re a credit to Pizza Express Tamworth.

We visited here on 22/08/24 at just before 9.30pm, while working in the area, for a quick bite to eat. Upon entering we were looked at by one of the waitresses and ignored. She then proceeded to walk over to 2 other waitresses, both of which turned around to look at us and then 1 begrudgingly walked over. We asked for a table for 2 to which we got the reply "yeah, but we close in 30 minutes" we were then given the nearest table and left alone. We sat for around 5 minutes without having an order taken or even asked if we wanted drinks. I understand it was close to closing time but pizza express pizzas barely take more than a few minutes to eat. Having been made to feel quite unwelcome and uncomfortable we left and went to 5 guys next door which was fantastic.

Might seem I’m being portentous but for me, first impressions are important. Front of house manager looked like he’d been dragged through a hedge backwards. Very scruffy. Two or three times throughout the evening we’d asked for something and never came back. Didn’t seem like there was one staff member who was over 20. Our waiter, argumentative and appalling attitude. Argued with me about sprite not being lemonade. Didn’t set a very good scene for the evening. Food expensive, small portions and food luke warm after it had been sat on the side and not even under a hot plate for 5 mins. No enthusiasm from staff, no atmosphere. Very bland and couldn’t wait to leave. Suggestion to managers…. With all these chains and restaurants closing, more effort makes you stand out. You’re no different to any of the other chains that have recently closed. I wouldn’t waste your money and I’d go to your average pub.

Somethings up here, used to be a great pizza - suddenly they aren't so good. Been going to this place for last 5 years or so generally speaking pretty good service and food but lately - not so good. On our last visit about 6 weeks ago my pizza was so messed up (it resembled nothing on the menu nor what I'd ordered) I was not charged for it - not that useful when I didn't eat it either. Last night popped in again hoping for better. First off the music is far too loud, seriously taking our order was bordering on boring - "sorry can you repeat that please" I WANT A PIZZA...who sets the volume in a restaurant so loud the waiter couldn't hear us? Pizzas arrive, both American Hot with different extras, look ok. Chilli oil and black pepper please (I shout) - I get the slightest crunch of black pepper because the mill is either useless or empty and then - oh we haven't got any chilli oil, what none? This is interesting as you didn't say that the American Hottest was off the menu (it has chilli oil listed as an ingredient) so why couldn't I have some then? So we get "dry" pizzas, not what I want, frankly they were average at the time and on reflection I'm going to say poor, the legendary deep smoky flavour pepperoni? No chance, it was insipid and tasteless, and frankly I'm going to start to count the number of pieces on the pizza, it looked NOTHING like the menu image and neither did the number of olives (an extra) look enough either. This isn't good enough. We're all watching our spend and looking for VFM - however it looks as though the vendors are watching their profit margins even more, I doubt I'll go back to this place even if its convenient for us, shame.

booked a table in advance, turned up on time and when we arrived no one was at entrance, when I mentioned to a worker we had booked a table he said “be over in a minute” still didn’t come over for another 10 minutes, so left the premises never will I waste my time at that place again

Food was really good, our waitress was miserable, sounded like she didn’t wanna be there, once we paid the bill she printed our receipt she didn’t say anything, no thank you, no goodbye. Just walked off into the backroom haha

Nothing bad to say about this place. It's what you would expect from pizza express. Kids menu is particularly worth the price. pizzas are £14-£18.

Sadly a very poor Pizza Express. They managed to miss one out of four starters, and only bought it out when reminded and everyone else's was finished, or cold if they waited. Then they bought out three pizzas that were ok, and about 5 minutes later a stone cold one. When asked to have another go at that one, they did bring a hot one, but unfortunately not the one that had been ordered. Staff very much couldn't care less, no care over the orders at all. It wasn't even busy, so they didn't have that excuse. I used to like Pizza Express, but if they are like this one now, it's the last one I'll ever visit.

Fab lunchtime meal with my daughter. Staff snd service great, paul and Sam were brilliant. Food was delicious, hot and came quickly. My favourite pizza express by far!

Tried a hot thin pizza not my normal bill of fayre ,guided by children.Pleasantly surprised very tasty happily demolished the whole thing Service good Enjoyable fast food good range of beer and wine and good value.

We were greeted and seated to our table by Sammy really nice guy ,really helpful and excellent customer service ,smartly dressed. We were served by Ashleing again more than helpful and went out of her way to sort the Pizza Express ap out to give us free food and again excellent customer service. A really good experience and food really nice . I hope the owners treat their staff with the care and attention that their staff give their customers.

Thisbm visit has actually restored my faith in pizza express. I hadn't been for years from disappointment. This booking came from convenience. It massively exceeded expectations. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Particularly with the kids. The food was excellent. My only criticism is the price. It is expensive for what it is. We had a great visit though and actually will go back.

Been here a couple of times and it's a good place to eat. Out-of-town chain restaurants can be hit and miss, bit even though it's only small it has everything it needs. Staff were brilliant today, thanks guys.

After standing at the entrance of this pizza express for almost ten minutes we were finally seated in our rocky, uncomfortable chairs. We waited over half an hour before they took our order and we then waited another half an hour before even receiving our starters which were ok at best. We were then told 20 minutes later that my wife could not have the salad she asked for because there was no beetroot. Bearing in mind that this was almost an hour after she ordered the salad. We received our mains around 15 minutes later and they did not meet expectations by any means. My calzone had near to no meat inside and was filled with cold tomato sauce. My son’s chicken pizza was falling apart before he even took a bite and the chicken tasted barely cooked. Definitely one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. We will not be coming back here and we most definitely do not recommend.

While the food is nice, the pizza sizes have certainly shrunk a bit and it's much more pricier. Service and restaurant was very nice.

Beautiful tasty gluten free meals. Staff absolutely lovely.

Starters (wings and calamari) were tasty, served red hot and in generous proportions. We both chose gluten free Pollo Pesto which was truly delicious! My wife had a large glass of chardonnay cheaper than the current norm but we were too full for desert. Staff were friendly and efficient too so what was not to like? Good job.

Great food and great service. We were there early evening and it wasn't that busy. Unlike lots of pizza express restaurants it wasn't too noisy and the sound was absorbed by the artificial greenery.

I'm so picky it's un real I will call every thing as I see it the food needs abit of work but the man of the hour ( Calumn ) made this one of the best experiences I've had I a long time so on point and polite amazing customer service I'll come back just to be served by him... thank you Calumn

I ordered a takeaway and upon arrival home realised the dips for the starter dough balls dopio were absent. Called the restaurants all they could do was offer an apology so dough balls went in the dustbin. Rubbish.

Polite staff and quick service, we stopped by in passing and were quickly seated. The food was lovely as always and the staff were very attentive. Parking got VERY busy so we were glad to get there early but PE can't help that. Would happily visit again.

Felt extremely crammed in. On a small table for two on the right hand side of the restaurant. It appears whoever has designed the seating arrangement has done so with a goal of fitting as many people in as humanly possible. We both quickly decided to leave so cannot comment on quality of the food/service but staff seemed friendly.

First time at this branch but very enjoyable. Food was delicious, service was excellent - friendly and not long wait times. We have Gold Level rewards on the app which is brilliant as it means two out of three kids end with most of their meal free.

Great service and staff friendly, helpful for children's birthday celebrations. Be prepared for service charges added to your final bill. Would recommend.

Service is so bad here! The restaurant wasn't busy at all yet they still took absolutely ages to attend our table, took more time for the bill to arrive and they missed some items from a dessert order.

The food was delicious. Service was okay, but I felt we were constantly watched to ensure we didn't overstay.

We grabbed a meal whilst out shopping with the kids. It was expensive and there wasn't enough servers to get their attention to order drinks or pay. They were pleasant and polite and the food was nice.

This was the first time we have visited Pizza Express and we weren't disappointed. Slight problem with my wife's pizza as they had run out of 2 of the toppings to go on it, we were informed straight away and offered alternative toppings which wasn't a problem. When our food came it was really nice, Service was great and staff all friendly.

Always a lovely experience! The staff are very friendly and the food is always high quality. Using the pizza express app, we can get pizzas, doughballs, drinks and desserts for just over £10 each, so it's incredible value too!

Very very horrible staff try to shortchangee put mushrooms in my food when I’m allergic to them I told them when I got back home from Lichfield and told me that they couldn’t do nothing about it in and up and he wouldn’t tell me his name when I rung back but I will find out his name unprofessional
