Papa G's in Tamworth

Awful food, which I would have overlooked and not bothered writing a review, however they only sent out half of my order with Uber. I checked the Uber driver's vehicle and my extra food was not there. Called Papa G's to ask them to send out the rest of my order (they had clearly made a mistake and must have been busy as they had sent me two bottles of pop when I only ordered one, hence my belief that they made a mistake when packing my order and missed the kebab naan deal off). They proceeded to talk to me like I am stupid and were rude to the driver and accused him of taking the order. When I asked how it was packed they told me and I confirmed that it arrived like that without the items. Again, asked for my order to be fulfilled and they refused and said take it up with Uber and I should of ordered through just eat. Not helpful when I have hungry kids waiting for their monthly takeaway treat. They then said return the full order with the driver so we can check it - as if that would prove anything? And I believe they would then have sent my cold food back out to me by how rude the staff were. He was speaking with an aggressive tone and I was being completely placid with him. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I spent over £40 and ended up with two bags of chips, a 9" pizza and bottle of pop. (Which was pepsi, not pepsi max like I ordered!) They made a mistake but didn't admit it or apologise. GO TO PAPA JOHN'S INSTEAD, Order from them regularly and whenever there has been an issue they resolve it immediately with no issues.

Not even worth 1 star. Don't send out the full order and are rude when you ask for the order to be completed. What did come was awful. Used to be good but not anymore.

Suddenly went downhill regarding portion size. Being knowingly overcharged with the comeback "Forget about it mate" will forever stick with me. Such poor behavior only comes back to you in multiples. I would not recommend any longer.

The best shop ever they have good prices and have very nice food the costumer service is amazing and the workers are very friendly. I recommend this place very much.

Ordered from there a couple of times and everytime its over 2 hours for delivery when i live less then 5 miles away , everytime you call theres another excuse and the last one was caked in so much grease i couldnt wat it and it was over £30 for 3 kebabs

Any pizza any size for a tenner... Can't go wrong. Decent quality.

Pizza was on time but only just warm. Nothing special. Taste OK. Will go elsewhere for next one

Last time I had this it was great and ate every bit but tonight I ordered on just eat and spent basically £40 worth of food cheesy chips had no cheese got cheesy garlic bread that had no garlic on and I didn’t even order it BBQ wings wasn’t BBQ they were spicey but the chicken was also pink ish and tasted like it was old and had a weird texture that I had to spit out so not edible onion rings were overdone in the fryer to a point all the onion was actually gone just brown soggy batter and finally on top of it all the food was cold the cheese on the pizza was basically solid it was that cold and had to wait over an hour for it but the positive was they gave me an extra bottle of Pepsi that I didn’t want either

Papa Gs is the best shop in Tamworth for food always on time and top quality best place in town there service is the best and also customer service is the best nice kind 👍👍

Paid for a spring roll, said it was available to order through Just Eat, and they gave me a fish cake. I always have problems with my orders here, I’ll go elsewhere.

Cost me £15 Took over 40 minutes to get to me and when it did everything soggy and the portion size was horrific! I ordered a large and got the smallest fish I’ve ever seen and I could actually count how many chips there was! Not pleased at all, do not Recommend!

Wouldn't even give this place a 1 star if I could, worst food I've ever eaten. Come to see family and decided to order a takeaway, seen the reviews and thought this place would be good. No way, avoid this place at all cost, our order was £29 and was inedible. Chips were undercooked and just a box full of grease.

Superb! Excellent value tasty pizza. We had a kebab pizza and a seafood pizza, and they were both excellent. The perfect quantity of sauce, cheese, and toppings.

Over 2 hours wait for food the staff just hung up when I asked for my money back definitely not ordering from these again I don’t see how they find it acceptable to make people wait 2 hours for food the prices are very expensive for the service you get I will stick with my normal chippy from now on Update: the food was cold not what we ordered and a hair in my sons food I not sure where there good reviews come from but I won’t be back again!!!!

Ordered from here and order was confirmed and then changed it on just eat to get a drink with it and then rang me to tell me that I can’t have my takeaway now because drivers had to change direction and will now take 4hours. 4hours! To get to my house just because I changed a drink. Ridiculous. Cancelled my order without even telling me

If i could give no stars i would. I ordered food to be delivered around 11:15-11:30 through the just eat app and was given a delivery time of between 1:00 and 1:15. I then went onto the website and cancelled my order only to be notified that i would only get a refund of 2 pounds when the food was £15. I then rang them directly to be told that 'yeah mate chucked it in the bin when you cancelled'. Yeah course you did, cus if my delivery time is between 1 and 1:15 , your definitely going to have made it for midnight. He then told me we just over exaggerate the delivery times just to cover ourselves. So i then have to pay the price because you falsify your delivery times to appease just eat? Clearly hadn't made the food, just wanted my money after my cancellation and had the audacity to lie on the phone and say it was made over an hour before delivery. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Tonight, however, has pushed us to not wanting to order any longer. Not only was our portion the smallest we have experienced, many of our chips had what I can only describe as a distinct taste of weed on them. £4.50 for this absolute joke of a portion? We'll not be ordering again.

Every Friday is takeaway Friday, where one of the family chooses a place and buys for the rest of us.... This week it was the turn of my son, who chose Papa Gs on the memory of a delicious Kebab in a naan. On looking through the menu , myself and my other half chose fish and chips - a risk considering there are so many great fish and chips joints in Tamworth. Now what I will say is, ignore the time they say it is going to take - our food arrived in 40 minutes, not the hour and 30 minutes they promised which is fantastic. Fish however, is not their thing. The batter quality was poor. It was far too thick, and so not cooked through, making it stodgy like cake. It was also full of oil, probably as the oil was not hot enough when the fish was put in the fryer. The fish was a small piece of Cod, with a disgusting uncooked batter shell... Top tip - you cannot disguise a small piece of fish with thick batter. The 3 star review is based on the quick service, and the pizza being truly glorious, because fish and chips are definitely not their thing. On this night - 2 of us were happy, 2 of us were poorly 🤢 Stick to the pizza and kebabs in future.

Ordered battered sausage and chips. The chips were fair, however the battered sausage was coated in something resembling soggy batter, not crispy batter. Shame

Good food but staffs aren't very friendly.

I ordered about 3 times in past 4 weeks, the food was good, driver been in time, also kind, I think I find my takeaway restaurant in Tamworth. Keep like this guys, really good job(been added by a kitchen manager😉, lazy to cook at home🤣)

Everything we have from here is bang on. Pizza is huge and the chips are spot on.

So been going here for years. The staff are always friendly and try to remember what I have. They are always nearly right. I always have the Mixed Donner & chips. With lots of sauce.

Been going here for years. Always best to collect as they always seem busy with delivery orders. Best pizza in Tamworth for sure and i been to alot of places. I have had every 16" pizza on the menu but the sea food (as the idea sounds soo wrong) never fails to disappoint. And the BBQ chicken is by far my fave! Especially with stuffed crust. I never been too sure of them battered sausages. Lets just say they are unique and excusive to Papa G's. And i have had alot of them, i usually have one to eat when i waiting for my pizza's. They are a great snack especially when you been out drinking. And do sober you up quick. As the batter seems more dough like, But it strangely works. Last time i had the SFC Chicken it was over the top salty! But will give this another try soon... Chips are spot on especially with cheese! Drinks are overpriced. But for a takeaway you will need some. If you have non at home. Will get some photos on here as soon as i can 😉👍

TERRIBLE: 1 hour 30 minutes to get a small order. Food was cold on arrival and very expensive. £14 for a meal for one, was extortionate for how small the portions are. Serious competitors out there who will happily take your unhappy customers

I do find the food a tad expensive from Pappas,and web had a few issues with delivery,once waited upto 3 hours for a pizza and was given 3 different excuses.however the food is nice.

Ordered fish and chips from papa g's Tamworth using Just eat, second time ordered, gave them another chance. Big mistake as again, as before, half an hour late, cold, bland and very expensive. Dont know how they have got good reviews, must be the staff posting the them. Would not reccomend.

Excellent chips, best I’ve had for ages. Good fish too and the gentleman who served us was friendly and helpful. Good sized portions freshly cooked. We ate them in the gardens near the castle, a pleasant end to a happy visit to Tamworth.

Used to order from papa G’s regularly and enjoyed the food very much! haven’t had takeaway for some time. When I ordered, they messed up the order so I rang them up and the staff were rude, arrogant, denied any fault until he realised he was in the wrong then proceeded to tell me that they will no longer deliver to my address!!?? Never have I ever had such poor service from any takeaway! The food is just about mediocre but the staff are vile. Definitely will avoid in future.

We stopped over in Tamworth for the weekend to check out the Snow Dome Ski Center and Papa Gs was recomended by the staff there, The food was amazing especially the cod and chips!

The staff are rude and arrogant. ANY issues raised... they denied. Pizza tasted stale. Chips were greasy. Would never order again.

The small frontage of this venue should not deter you from visiting this place. There are many pizza places in Tamworth but I can honestly say that the pizzas from here are, in my opinion, the best I have tried in the town. The staff are also really friendly and the management team are really interested in your opinion. I will certainly continue to use this business. A+.

Chips mostly hard, pukka pie was over cooked, top of it was all hard and inside the pie the filling had been baked away and was only left with pieces of chicken inside... almost as bad as another local chip shop

In my opinion these guys do the best pizzas in town. A great pizza base and super tasty toppings. As an added bonus they are always friendly and courteous. I have been using the place for over ten years now and have no reason to look elsewhere.
