Came in for new years good service and good food

Sat in this hole for an hor and 10 mins just to eventually receive medioca food and had to wait 25 mins for a drink ridiculous.

I ate here yesterday for lunch .. and let me just tell you. I am obsessed. I come here every single time im hungry (i rarely go to another restaurant because of how good the food is in blackheath pizza express). I gave compliments to the chef (Thomas) whose hands are a work of art ,and the manager (vicky) who welcomed me with such warmth. As well as Ivona the waitress who was also so kind and actually conversed with me with patience rather. I just love love love this place ever so much and will continue to make an appearance! Thank you again!! My go to order is always: pollo forza or the buddha salad bowl (however anything that is cooked by the chef is amazing)

Brilliant for families with young kids. The kids menu is a firm favourite for our little ones and the staff as so accommodating. Zsiga was super helpful during our last visit getting the kids food ready asap and giving me a hand with coats and scooters when it was time to leave! Thank you!

The only decent place in blackheath villlage for a nice family meal out. All the staff there are so friendly. Pity there aren't more places like it in the village.

We celebrated our daughters 16th birthday. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Ivy our host was brilliant and really attentative. The manager was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend!

My daughters and I dine there regularly and we always have a lovely time. The menu is familiar and tasty, the crayons and activity menu for the children keep them occupied and entertained while the service is always very friendly. All the waiting staff that we have encountered have been excellent with the kids. We are regularly served by Alexandra who always welcomes us with a warm smile.

We had the most brilliant experience at Pizza Express Blackheath this evening, served without booking, on a Friday night by the lovely and attentive Kevin (aka Arthur). The manager was also absolutely lovely. They were incredibly accommodating, especially to my partner, who has coeliacs disease! I felt compelled to leave this review as we were sat next to two very grumpy men, who were happily charging their phone on the Pizza express plugs, complaining about their food costing too much for "what it was" whilst also asking to take it away for later... something didn't smell right. But the food certainly smelt wonderful. We love Kevin!

Had lunch with my granddaughter Lailah in Blackheath Pizza Express yesterday. Food was lovely. Really enjoyed my lasagne. Compliments to the chef. Alexandra was very attentive and looked after us. Very friendly and homely atmosphere.

I had one of the worst experiences in my life here. I was treated by staff as if I was vermin, the staff treated my friend and I differently due to how we were dressed and our age. I brought a coupon with me, in the small print it said that it was strictly for use in the Blackheath branch, however, when I presented the coupon to the waitress she scolded me for bringing the coupon into her restaurant. The saving grace of this awful establishment was the lovely Brummie boy, he made our meals somewhat enjoyable. For anyone that enjoys eating authentic Italian pizza, I strongly suggest you get on the next plane to Naples, as this is something that you can’t find in London.

We had a pizza party at Pizza Express Blackheath this weekend. And it was brilliant! 10 very happy little boys and girls - April did a great job guiding them through making their own pizzas and keeping them entertained:))) pizzas themselves were delicious and the service was fab too - nothing was too much trouble! Great restaurante if you want eat the BEST pizza.

We are regulars at Pizza Express in Blackheath and know the staff well. We booked a table and were quickly served with drinks. The restaurant was really busy with Deliveroo drivers everywhere. The dough balls came and were burnt and then we had to wait an hour for our pizzas. Meanwhile, the constant stream of Deliveroo drivers continued. Our pizzas came about 10 mins apart and I saw them take my husbands pizza out of a delivery box and put on a plate. My legerra was so burnt, I had to send it back. The kitchen couldn’t cope and it was reflected in the quality. The ambience was dreadful with drivers in helmets crowding the restaurant and it was a disappointing experience. I really hope the management recognise that the Deliveroo set-up is really affecting the dining experience for the customers in the restaurant.

The prices were quite high for the amount of food we got. I would like to mention that the staff could a bit more friendly.

Despite it being almost empty service was slow and waitress could do with a better customer service skills . She appeared grumpy and cold . Carpriciosa pizza was burnt around the edges . Whole experience very average .

Food was great and our waiter Zsiga was so friendly and patient. They were having a busy day apparently with short staff but him and the rest of the staff guaranteed a great experience which is normal at Pizza Express.

Wanted a table outside in the sun. Male staff member, not the manager, said you can't sit outside because it would inconvenience the waiter. I pointed out but most of your customers are sitting outside and you only have 2 tables occupied (5 customers) inside - it doesn't make sense. Staff member, very rude said if you sit outside I cannot say how long it will take to serve you! Not the Pizza Express I remember - when you change your staff you need to vet them for hospitality qualities - this man and the group of staff who were sitting with him never said anything including the manager - they all seemed to be intimidated by him. You need to select your staff more carefully

It’s been a decade or so since we last eat at a Pizza Express and not much has improved other than the size of the pizza. The staff need to pay more attention to their guests and less on just chatting. The pizzas where faultless, light, plenty of toppings and hot. On the other hand the starters were nothing to rave about, tasteless and frankly a waste of money. If you just want a good pizza, then it’a hit.

Really rubbish meal out. Pizza express is our go to for a family friendly easy dinner. This was not that. Sat at a table right by the door of a restaurant that was so busy that we had people knocking into us, buggies trying to squeeze through impossible gaps it was less than relaxing. Waitress shouted at us for the duration of our visit. Those of us at her end of the table had to prepare ourselves every time she showed up. Waited over 20 mins from drinks to some dough balls showing up then at least the same again for pizzas. Kids pizzas were mostly sauce and no cheese but we couldn’t face trying to find the waitress to reorder them. Ordered a much a room salad only to be told when all the other food was coming that they had no mushrooms so we needed to choose something else. It just felt like a really disjointed meal where we all felt disappointed and hungry at the end as it all took so long. This is while most of the wait staff stood around the kitchen door chatting while the whole restaurant waited. We expect better from Pizza Express. Couldn’t wait to get out

I usually have a good experience at all Pizza Expresses but this has to be by far the worst one. I think certain members of staff need to be educated on unconscious biases. I sat waiting to be served for over 15 - 20 minutes but was ignored constantly or was told they’d be with me in a minute just for them to go and seat new guests, take their food order and serve their drinks?! Very Shocked and Disappointed.

Shockingly bad ,people who worked here forgot my beer.i asked for loads of goat cheese but they gave me loads of spinach instead.

Just came from pizza express Blackheath with my two young daughters. Had a generally nice time till the end! I had been given gift cards which were accepted in pizza express. I gave the waitress the cards and she immediately was irritated, at the till I watched her throw the cards annoyed that she didn’t know how to use. 15 minutes later the manager came to try. I had been waiting 25 minutes at this point. Not an explanation from anyone. I walked to till and asked if there was a problem, they said they didn’t know how to use. I ended up paying normally (which normally is fine but I budgeted for using the cards) 65.00. Not an apology or anything! Oh and extra time added to car park which is already a silly amount. I felt silly and embarrassed waiting while the staff were annoyed with me using the cards!

Visited on 27th Jul 23 and all staff we came into contact with was pleasant. Our server Alexandra was also lovely. I made a massive mistake in ordering an Americano & forgot to ask for the pepperoni to be omitted. When I realised, I made another staff member aware & both her & Alexandra warmly attended to me & made the exchange. I felt bad about it but was happy they were able to make the change. Thank you for accommodating me!! Keep up the lovely work.

Quite a good option if you’re hungry and want a quick bite for a reasonable price ( in comparison to everything around it) The thin pizza was quite nice and the filling although it doesn’t look like much was actually quite enough! The place could get crowded and the waiters rush all over the place to help everyone so just be patient..

I have been working in Blackheath for the last 5 weeks and 4 times I have been to Pizza express, on 2 occasions Zsiga has served me, and I have to say he is on the ball very quick, polite and nothing is to much bother. Need more staff like him. Zsiga keep up the great work. 👍

More than one hour for 3 pizzas when the restaurant is not full. They just prioritise deliveries over restaurant clientele.

Ate here with my son to celebrate his end of year university results, as we had some money-off vouchers. The food was good and the service was fantastic. Zsigmond (our waiter) and Giovanna (who I think was the duty manager) were attentive and friendly. The staff alone made it worth a five-star review.
