Pizza Express in South Lakeland

Always a great dining experience. I often go with family. Sis, mum and 3 nieces. The service is great, food delicious and atmosphere good too!

Good food but quite overpriced and smallish portions. Staff are excellent.

I came in with very little hope of getting a tasty vegetarian pizza but was very satisfied after having a vegan sloppy pizza.

Vegan sloppy pizza is really worth trying. It was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Veg penne pasta in red sauce was okayish.

We had a Calamari starter it was amazing the best calamari in Kendal. Followed by a lovely fungi pizza washed down with a super bottle of Chardonnay. All served by a really friendly lovely young lady.

I went for the larger, thin and crispy base version. Tasted good but definitely wasn't crispy. Shame.

We booked for our son to have his birthday pizza party here hosted by the manager Frank. There were 11 boys in total and the manager Frank and all the staff were AMAZING in helping to interact and engage with each of the children. They were so friendly and helpful and the food was superb. We all had a great time and I will definitely be recommending this as a place to host a party in the future. Thanks to everyone, especially Frank and Lizzie.

Service was fine. Pizza appeared under cooked and insubstantial and lasagna straight out of a packet. Expensive for what you get. Kombucha at £4.45 which you can buy in a supermarket or online for less than £1.50!

We had another lovely meal at Kendal Pizza Express, once again served by the lovely Kat. She was very helpful throughout our meal. We will return again soon

Very busy for a weekday night. Really enjoyed it. A great place for a catch up with friends.

Ordered a home delivery, duo romana, calamari, chicken, halloumi, honey balls.. they were all delicious. Full of flavour. The dips and sauces are fresh and very good. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Having been turned away the two previous nights as they had been too busy, we were lucky to get a table for two tonight and had a lovely meal with outstanding service. The food and wine were really nice but our waitress, Emily, was exceptional. Recommend booking!

Service by a young girl was outstanding. Manager asked if we wanted anything,I needed some dip, he said be right back but he never returned... so no dip 😕. Lots of crying screaming kids. I know we are supposed to just accept this but it does completely ruin the evening and when spending upwards of 200 quid you do want to be able to relax at 8pm

Arrived, greeted and sat down by waiter (only a handful of people in the restaurant) Spent 15 mins waiting for someone to take our order or pay any attention at all. Decided to leave rather than waste any more time. Really poor service

Always a great meal out with friends. We use the Pizza Express App to benefit from all the different deals they offer. It's great value for money.

Good food when dining in. Don’t order from here thou if you want your food next week. 2 times ordered from here and it kept getting delayed till the place shut and food never came. Nowhere else was open at the time so that was fun.

It’s fine if you dine in but twice now we’ve had a delivery problem. First time we got completely the wrong order but they sorted it. This time our sons meal was missing the drink and the dough balls but because it was the delivery drivers fault they washed their hands with it. Now if you’re using the delivery service for your deliveries I’d expect at least a bit of help. 100 percent we won’t be going here ever again.

Excellent meal at Pizza Express Wainwright yard last night. We had booked a table and were shown straight to it by the very friendly manageress. The restaurant was busy but we ordered and got our food quite quickly. The pizzas and dough balls were excellent and although we eat in Pizza Express restaurants fairly regularly the food was the best we have had in a long time.

Celebrated out Sons 7th Birthday with family here. Service & food was excellent. Staff were really friendly and made an effort to ensure we had a lovely evening.

Shocking! Visited this evening…..the start was ok staff was friendly and went over the menu, but things slowly started to go downhill after we ordered food. We ordered 3 pizzas and some dough balls to start. We received our pizzas but no dough balls, before we could asked one of the pizzas had a hair inbeded in the cheese, after sending it back we then asked about the dough balls finding out they had made a mistake and they didn’t go through, then we waited another age to receive them and the pizza. By this time everyone had finished their meals, a lady did come over and say the pizza was off the bill but no apology. We then sat waiting for them to start the pizza then in ear shot the chefs refused to start my pizza until someone had checked the pizza first, strange then we noticed dough balls was sat for ages under the hot plate counting, just a all round bad experience. Just to note the place was dead and to get this so wrong was a joke! If you check the cctv I’m sure you can time lapse how long it took for a new pizza and the dough balls to come out, staff looked more interested in standing around the pass chatting and not checking back on the tables, twice I asked for staffs attention.

I book an table for 7 people for 5.30 and the service and the food was brilliant the services was impeccable i was really impressed . Catalina was the lady that served us honestly i was feeling like home! Well done i will come back more often!

We have been coming to this Pizza Express since it opened. This was by far the best experience we have had. The atmosphere was lovely, so relaxed. The staff were all so helpful especially Kath who was waiting on and Cole (I think that was his name) who was making the pizza, he didn't mind my small grandsons watching him for most of the time we were there. Thank you to the whole team at Kendal.

Cannot believe how small the lasagna main course is. An utter rip-off and it wouldn’t even stand as a starter in a decent Italian restaurant. The staff were very good and service was competent, but this was a real let down in terms of value for money. We will not be returning any time soon.

The food was delicious, the staff was nice and friendly. Worth to try if you are in town.

This is my absolute favourite pizza express restaurant! The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! All staff are always efficient and ensure incredible service is delivered. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat!

Very loud atmosphere due to a very busy day in particular. As usual if there isn't a booked table, the wait time for service is a bit long. I waited for 10 mins before being seated and then another 20mins at least to be served at the table before food had arrived.

Great pizza as per usual with Pizza Express. Good selection especially for gluten free. One of the staff members was coeliac too so she was extremely knowledgeable on the subject.

This was a great experience from the start to the end but are a few pointers about the food as we got the dough balls but some were chewy and had a burnt taste to them the waiters were lovely but when we were eating our food one of the waiters said is it good and then straight after another’s man said the exact same thing this is a great experience and will come here again I would definitely recommend!❤️

They dont take walk ins, dont waste your time. Travelled a whole hour only to be turned away. Bad customer service and extremely unhelpful.

Absolutely faultless Emma, well where do I start. Instant welcome when you enter the restaurant. Quick to take your orders but also not pushy and gives you time. Only waitress on today but still continued to make us feel important. As soon as we ordered she straight aware made us aware of the app which saved us £11ish so that was fab. Ordered our food and we had dough balls to share then we both had a American classic and wow, the flavour, taste, freshness was on point. Told Emma to make the female chef aware it was the best food in a pizza express we had ever been to! Then towards the end of us finishing our mains I think the manager came onto the floor (think was doing interviews or something) and straight away was on board to help Emma out as started to get a bit busier. Throughout all of this Emma stayed calm and collected, no stress, friendly and welcoming and just overall a lovely person! She is an asset to your team, same as the chef you had on today! Best food and atmosphereI have ever had in a pizza express before and the food was exceptional. Even writing this I don't feel is enough of a praise to how good our experience was! Thank you, we will be back for sure, hopefully next time our little girl will be able to share some pizza with us!

Always enjoy a Pizza Express. Food is reliably good, staff at this one are lovely and polite and the place is always kept nice and clean.

Went for lunch and was served by Dawid. He was extremely pleasant and polite, he couldn't do enough to help us. Food was phenomenal especially the new nduja dough balls. Can't wait to go back

Drove 20 miles on a Sunday evening, restaurant was only half full, we’re told we couldn’t eat without a booking, very disappointing, said they were short staffed, they clearly weren’t

served by the loveliest lass (Emillie I think?) and treated with such kindness from all the staff, plus their zucchini linguini was beyond delicious and they were accommodating of dietary needs from start to finish whilst not feeling pushy or strict

Having booked a table waitress appeared surprised at our arrival. No table ready, restaurant not over busy. Food was what we ordered.

Visited for a Saturday evening meal and was very impressed with the whole experience. The staff were really friendly and attentive from our arrival, particularly keen to ensure our gluten intolerant member of the group was given all of the required information and advice. The food arrived in good time, the meals were lovely and the best pizza I’ve had in a long while. Hugh recommended

Food was nice, but terrible service. Waiting staff were non-attentive, the person in charge appeared to be more interested in looking at his phone. Took a good 30 minutes after finishing the main to finally receive the dessert menu, but after a further 15 minutes of waiting for someone to take our order we left.

Good pizza place although prices can get a bit steep. Service was great and food was delivered fast. Music in restaurant was slightly annoying - this was probably because the restaurant was quite empty at the time.

The staff were lovely and all my stars go to them. Our main issue was the price. My wife and I visited with out 2 young children. One had a choice from the child's menu, which was good value. 3 of us had a pizza and a soft drink. It came to just why of £90. That seems a lot to me for what we had, which was ok but not fabulous. Over priced and it took over an hour for our food to come.

Visited tonight with my wife while on holiday for a couple of days. The restaurant was a member of staff down but we were very well and attentively looked after by Alex, who was working his socks off and still managing to be very professional, friendly, courteous and attentive with everyone he dealt with including the customers who want everything “right now” and can’t wait!!! Well done Alex!

I have just spent a lovely evening at the Kendal Pizza Express. The place was packed and buzzing with atmosphere. Although they were a few members of staff short, those that were there held it all together delivering professional table service with a smile. Our waiter Alex was particularly attentive and juggled everything with a tip top professionalism that was beyond his years. Well done Alex and team.

My dining experience at Pizza Express Preston was an absolute joy. The standout dishes for me were the garlic bread and the Diavola pizza. The garlic bread was crisp, perfectly toasted, and delicately seasoned with garlic, making it an appetizing start to the meal. As for the Diavola pizza, it was a spice-lover's dream come true. The hot spiciness of the toppings melded impeccably with the tangy tomato base, creating a burst of flavours that was simply mouth-watering. The culinary craftsmanship and attention to detail at Pizza Express Preston are truly commendable. It's certainly worth a visit for anyone in search of fantastic pizza. An unequivocal 5-star experience that I highly recommend!"

We booked a table for 8 to celebrate my sons birthday. When we arrived we asked to add another 2 people, which was no problem at all. We were really well looked after by Alex and Cat. They were friendly and great with all the kids. After our starters, they brought dough out for the kids to roll and shape. All the kids were happy, so it was a great success. Thank you ☺️

Alex was a fantasic waiter, friendly, polite, nothing was a bother. The amazing scouse manager made the night for our grandson whose birthday it was. Great night.

We called in a couple days ago, pretty loud inside but other than that a nice atmosphere, food was really nice and brought out quickly despite how busy it was. We were served by Alex, he was really sweet, friendly and accomodating, answering allergy/intollerance questions really well, and making a note of them. He chatted with us for a little bit which was a nice touch, making sure everything was to our liking, which it was.

Had the place to ourselves. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The meal was lovely. Very happy overall ☺️

The worst value takeaway I've ever had - £34 for a pizza that was so light it seemed the box was empty and a very basic salad. I'm don't like doughy pizzas loaded with cheese so in that regard I was happy but there were barely any toppings although I paid for extra. And the pizza hadn't even been sliced!

Placed a collection order and within half an hour was picking it up. Friendly staff on arrival and food was really nice. Would recommend!

Good food, and excellent service. Despite being super-busy early (6pm) on a Friday evening, Pizza Express Kendal managed to fit us (me, my wife and our 14yo) in. We were served by Alex, who was an absolute delight: friendly, laid-back and attentive. I do hope the manager lets him know what a great job he does, and that this review counts towards any incentive schemes they have. The food was great too: our 14yo wants me to mention how delicious the mozzarella garlic bread starter was, my wife really enjoyed her cannelloni, and I was a big fan of the honeycomb cream slice. We'll be back soon.

Variety of choices vegan gluten free menu loved the place

I'm also a fan of their wide variety of toppings from the classic pepperoni to more unique options like bbq chicken or Hawaiian pizza. In addition to great pizza, the service here is top-notch. The staff is always friendly, attentive and quick with their food orders. They make everyone feel welcomed the moment they walk through the doors. It's the kind of place where the employees know the regulars by name. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions. It's great for feeding a crowd on game day or picking up a quick dinner on a weeknight. Whether you dine-in or order for delivery, this pizza restaurant consistently provides delicious food, fast service and genuine hospitality. I went for a meal a few nights ago with my parents, seated by a lovely manager with green hair and got amazing service and very good food. They were extremely accomodating towards my mother who is severely coeliac so we were very glad. Will definitely be coming again!!

Very pleasant experience. Went with some friends on a Friday evening. The place was rammed full, despite this the staff were prompt at serving us and were very friendly. The food came out in good time and was of a high quality. Overall a nice meal.

Took my daughter and some friends for her birthday, the team were amazing, accommodating with allowing us to take a cake and even presented it personalised for her and allowed the girls to have their own table and act like grown ups! Absolutely recommend this great place, thank you so much for a great meal!

Lovely Vegan pizzas (dedicated vegan menu) and staff who are very attentive and helpful (which is appreciated, especially when your wife orders an odd gin and strawberry combo). It was so nice, we went back the next day. Sloppy Vegan pizza was my favourite.

Lovely sunny day & outside seating. We stopped for lunch, Salad Nicoise which was very tasty & well presented. Popped in for a bite to eat after being in the Lakes for the afternoon. Very nice restaurant with fantastic staff. A big shout out to Alex who was amazing. He is such a credit to the restaurant.

We had a lovely family night out here while on holiday. The restaurant was quite busy for a Sunday night but the staff (especially Alex) were excellent and dealt with it admirably, despite their technology 'acting up'. We each had 3 courses (one off the kids menu) and there wasn't a single scrap of food left on any plate, including a slightly fussy 11 year old's. The price was pretty much as you'd expect these days. If we were staying any longer I'm sure we'd go back. All in all a great night out. Keep up the good work.

We came to pizza express for a pizza party for our twin daughters 13th birthday, it was absolutely AMAZING! Olivia and Callum went over and above to make sure that the whole party had a great time. The majority of the children had additional needs and this would phase some young staff but they interacted with the children really well and I would highly recommend this to others with children of any age!

We went to Pizza Express after a long day of house hunting. They were very busy when we booked, but managed to squeeze us in. The food, as normal, was excellent (one of the best Pizza Express restaurants that we’ve been to!) but the service exceeded the food. We were served by Olivia, who was attentive, professional and extremely pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble and it made the evening.

We have had a couple of positive experiences in this Pizza Express, our daughter is autistic and Olivia went out of her way to clean down the seat, turn the music down and make sure she was as ok as possible. We have been very impressed with the service we received there, both times with Olivia.

Brilliant! Every aspect of this restaurant is great. Food is really good, and service from our waiter (who has put accountancy behind him and is hoping to do joinery at college) was perfect!

Bit of a treat going to Pizza Express as it's expensive. I asked for extra red onion a jalapeños. I got raw onion and chilli's! The kids had nearly finished theirs so couldn't really be bothered to complain
