We heard that the Angel Inn had re-opened under new management, and that the pub had been given a make-over and were now doing really good food - so we thought we would go and check it out! We went along mid-afternoon on Thursday 25th January, 2024, the place is very clean, warm and welcoming, a nice, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Louise the manager, who we took-to immediately, is so enthusiastic and passionate about running a good pub. They have a wide range of drinks and the menu although limited at present, is set to be extended, and they do Sunday lunch. The chef, an ex-army chef but with lots of civilian experience in restaurants too, is also passionate about providing great, home-made food. We very much liked the look of things, so we booked for Sunday lunch - we went along on Sunday 28th January - the food did not disappoint! We had a choice of beef, pork or chicken, or we could have some of each. The plate came out with the meat, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, along with it came a large dish of vegetable and a gravy boat. As promised, everything was home-made, cooked from scratch and as we expected, totally delicious! Then came dessert, we all had treacle sponge with custard, but there was a choice of jam sponge, apple crumble or cheese-cake, - home made, and it too was delicious!, and all at a reasonable price - well worth it! We will be back - but we are also going to go along mid-week and check out their menu offers - they are going to be getting wine and drinks offers too - what more could you want! 👍😁.

Went in for food, ordered it to sit in. The place was empty. I waited ages for chips, at least 20 minutes. I just wish the staff had told me there was a wait.. It was 5pm.. chips were OK, I've had better. It eventually came in a cardboard box with wooden folks, no proper plate or proper folk when you pay for sit in price, I expected better.

Absolutely vile place. With the amount of good takeaways in Sheffield why this one has any customers left is beyond me. Can’t even read an order on a screen and get it right or get my number right to call me and let me know they was out of stock on one of the main items I wanted! . The Guy who served me had think black dirt under his grotty nails. Scruffy place what looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. On the other hand if you’re looking for a great way of throwing a sicky at work this is the place for you! Food poisoning central. Don’t know what’s worse seeing a huge rat on the way out feasting on a chicken leg or the workers hygiene and customer service skills. Will be contacting environmental health so prepare for a visit. Keep your £25 you lot clearly deserve it so treat yourself to a decent shower at my expense. The Food was fit for the bin so left it in the premises where the resident rats can feast on it. Had the absolute cheek to ask for the Pepsi can which I didn’t bring back with me as I thought all they’d have to do is give me rice and I’d be on my merry little way. I won’t let this drop I will be getting my money back 10times over for the disrespect one way or another let me tell you that! Karma

honestly it's gone downhill recently, it used to be a really good pizza place a while back but in recent months the quality has declined. the pizzas are always super greasy, fries tend to be soggy. the burgers are fine and the calzones seem to lack cheese often, but the filling is very good. i wouldn't go here a lot but it's acceptable if i'm on a budget.
