God awful. Save your sanity and your bowels. They have no sense of taste or hygiene. The stories have heard about how they prep food is awful. Along with the terrible food, it’s nearly unaffordable itself

Been coming here for best part of 3 years and its my favourite chip shop as I'm local. Thought I'd treat myself to a takeaway for the 1st time in a while. Waited 20mins to be given the smallest portion over over cooked food! £6.50!!!! I understand there's a cost of living but come on.. a £3 portion of chips and this is what I get. Looks like a kids portion! Won't be returning, sorry.

Really great chips and curry sauce. Ther sauce had good flavour. Great Combo. Not tried anything else for along time.

We went Saturday lunchtime, it was very quiet. Staff were very friendly and polite. Chips and battered sausage were freshly cooked to order, so nice and hot.

We have been coming here for years, chinese food and fish and chips good- they are a small family business trying to do their best!

Can't go wrong - a classic (wish there were more like them) family run so they care about quality. Good menu selection and good portion sizes. We order regularly and never had an issue. Would recommend and will remain a happy loyal customer

Tried and tested the food here on 3 occasions and each time it tasted like they needed to change the oil. Never again! Recently discovered the owners of this business are fly-tipping in the local neighbourhood! PHOTO EVIDENCE ATTACHED with their address. Reported to Council. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT A LOCAL BUSINESS THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR NEIGHBOURHOOD AND LOCALS. IT'S OUR COUNCIL TAX THAT IS PAYING FOR THEIR DISGUSTING BUSINESS WASTE AND FLY-TIPPING!

We are always stopping there on the way back home for some nice chicken fried rice or fish and chips . The service is always really fast and the staff nice people . I recommend that place .

We have been visiting pitch and chip for years. We recently ordered fish and chips and Chinese. The fish was lovely, cooked first with light batter and fluffy chips. Would highly recommend. We also regularly order Chinese and it is always delicious. Would recommend for a takeaway!!

The staff are so friendly and there was no waiting time with my order whatsoever. I haven’t tried the food yet but I’m sure it’s great.

Chinese takeaway...awful! Dry, tasteless and reheated. Not worth the money, ended up in the bin. Probably the worse Chinese we have had 🤢🤮

If I could give it a half I would. Absolutely awful. Chow mein tasted & looked like super noodles. The sweet & sour chicken balls were tasteless & overdone & the sauce horrendous. I will never visit again!! Shameful

It's a very tasty and filling menu, we order every once in a while and we are never disappointed. Thumbs up, keep up the good work! Definitely recommend! Tofu was amazing, noodles as well, just great

Tasty food, quickly made. Prawns in black bean sauce had a good amount of prawns and tasty. The chilli chips was made well, good portion size even tasted great the next day. Will be going back! Some things slightly expensive but affordable.

The Chinese food is nice. What you'd expect from your local Chinese takeaway. Good vegetarian selection, promptly made, food seems fresh, friendly staff. No complaints from me.

A poor shadow of its former self, what was once the best chippy for miles around is now a place to be avoided. We’re big supporters of local businesses and it saddens me to have to write a bad review of what’s been a local institution for over 20 years.The fish was dripping in greasy fat, the chips were truly rank and had the look and taste of something that had been in the fryer on and off for a few days, just dry and cooked to death and the mushy peas were bad beyond description.Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

Fish and chips. Dont bother. Soggy batter, chips which seemed like they were from lunchtime (certainly not fresh) Cant comment on the Chinese food as we havent tried it.

This is a local to me so thought I would give them my custom. Bad mistake. Both fish and chip takeaway poor with what I would describe as old cooked chips reheated.So to be fair thought I would try their chinese takeaway. Again bad mistake. The noodles were one soggy mess and the alleged spare ribs were old and hard and like eating dried string.Will not be going back!

Quite possibly the worst fish and chips you will get, anywhere. I have no idea what batter they use but something is seriously wrong. Twice now the batter is smooth and just soaks all the oil up and inside the batter is not cooked. Completely inedible. Also like so many people here say the chips are not much better.I have no idea how they continue to operate. I also just find the staff here very rude they don't care. Sooner it closes the better.

Recently we were craving fish & chips so decided to pop down to this take away to get some. Staff were friendly and prices not too bad. 3 minutes later we got home to eat and were disgusted by the food! Absolutely horrible. Greasy chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil and fish was no better. This is exactly the reason why as a general rule I avoid fish & chip shops... well this one sells Chinese food to. Will not be back!!!

I use the Pitch and Chip regularly, the cod and chips are a favourite and I have to say it's one of the best fish and chip shops I have ever used. The large cod and chips is too much, so have switched to regular chips but the portions are still very generous. I always look forward to using the Pitch and Chip and can't wait for my next visit.

Chicken curry was tasteless, chips were OK, chicken balls were prawn, ribs taste like they had been in the freezer for years

We ordered takeout Chinese food. It was very affordable. They prepared it quickly. It definitely isn't gourmet Chinese food, but if you want quick takeaway this is a good place to go.

Tenía mi visita madre y nos decidimos por el pescado y patatas fritas. Pedimos bacalao y patatas fritas x 4 a 30 libras. . . Llegué a casa y me. estaba asqueroso. Las patatas fritas eran viejos y destartalados como claramente antiguo re calienta. El bacalao estaba seco y duro. Realmente no merece la pena. Nunca volveremos. . . pérdida de dinero.

Good quality food and a very wide selection. Staff very pleasant. Food can take some time and it is pricey compared with others in the area.

Apresurarse a casa del trabajo con mucho que hacer. Pensé que iba a alimentar a mi antojo con una 'bolsa de patatas". Los abrí en casa y fue asqueroso. Hecha en rancio de grasa. Las patatas fritas parecía que habían hecho con patatas, ya que parecía una bolsa de restos sobrantes. Intenté comer pocos pero me hizo indignado conmigo mismo, incluso para poner en el cuerpo. La chica me había peto sucia que sirve. Debería haber caminado fuera de la tienda. Sin duda no se detienen allí. Sin duda arruinó mi antojo chip

The P&C; has been there for many years, and does a really good Chinese take away. The fish however is ruined by the fatty batter. If they improved this it would be perfect but there are better places not too far away for fish.

Must be the worse meal in my life l ordered a chinese of sweet and sour chicken chips and rice and every thing was horrible especially the chips which were raw , l think they were part cooked but they forgot to cook them again basically £10 wasted

Being from the north, I occasionally have a craving for some chip shop chips. These are my favourite so far in the area.

Had mixed experiences, nice to have the option between Chinese and fish and chips. However chicken in Chinese is bad quality, sauce watery. Last experience the chicken nuggets burnt to a crisp, wont be back.

having had a long day's driving we wanted something quick and easy to eat.We found this takeaway , it was easy to park and we could see the food being prepared..The meal was ready in 5 minutes, and still hot and tasty by the time we got back.

Great local hang out for fish and chips and Chinese takeaway. I've lived here for 19 years and keep coming back. Fish and chips are my favourite but occasionally order the usual standard Chinese takeaway. Very convenient, they take phone orders. May be not posh enough for the Wentworth class but as they've been here for decades they must be doing something right.

This is right on our doorstep and so disappointed that it doesn't serve good food. Would recommend neither the Chinese food (too much MSG = massive headache) nor the fish and chips (undercooked and greasy).

Really very bad fish and chips!Was convinced to try this place by my wife who said we had been here before... If we had we would definitely not have been here tonight. We had haddock that was a good size but totally tasteless and with awful chips - really overcooked so dark brown yet really greasy.... I guess the oil wasn't hot enough. The chips were also very fishy, I thought all fish and chip shops cooked the fish separately to the chips these days. Even my son left his jumbo sausage which is totally unlike him so I guess he wasn't a fan either. This is also a Chinese take away and maybe this side of the business is better but I certainly wont be going back for fish and chips. Lots of other good places locally so look elsewhere.

Nice food however sometimes the food could be a bit hotter and if you order fish and chips and chinese they dont bring them out at the same time... but still overall nice

This is our local chippy and our local Chinese takeaway. Whether you want traditional fish and chips of a good Chinese takeaway, this always comes up trumps. Fish / chicken and chips freshly cooked and generous portions. Chinese takeaway to order too - a great variety of dishes. Very friendly service. Wouldn't go anywhere else.Note, it's not a restaurant, just a takeaway

All the reviewers on this place must be on something.Its absolutely appalling, its rubbish , the English food is freezer stuff and for the Chinese side the meat is rank.

Be it Chips or Chinese they seem to do a very good job with what they serve, good portion size with fair pricing, I've been a few times and never had s bad meal yet.

I used to live round the corner 6 years ago. I'm back in the area to sell our house and I went to pitch and chips last night for chip butties and mush peas. I remember the chips being proper chip shop chips (but cooked in oil, which is good for me because I'm vegetarian). I was disappointed. It just tasted like overly deep fried chips, the bread baps were not fresh, and the mush peas were heated up in the microwave.

Great takeaway which does close a little to early for my needs. Salt and pepper squid is sublime. Also does Fish and Chips.

Traditional Fish & Chip take-away, with extensive Chinese menu, all food is cooked to order in an open kitchen while you watch. Now accepts payment by card. Have been using this outlet for over 20 years. Watch out for closing time - a little early compared with most.
