So I first ate here a year ago, and had such a wonderful experience I was eager to return (hence the earlier positive review below). This second and maybe last time was such a letdown, sheerly on service (and a weak chai latte), not sure I would return. I popped into here last Sunday about noon and it was BUSY (different from my first time eating here near the end of the day). The cook is positioned right at the entrance and he completely ignores you upon entering, with his scowling face. No staff member comes to greet you so you wait awkwardly at first, unsure where to wait or enter. As I was ignored, I proceeded to enter and then find a table near the till at the back. Then was ignored for at least 10 minutes. Staff walked to and fro, pointedly avoiding eye contact and EVEN ignoring hand signals on my end. Wow. Classic crappy U.K. “service” with waiter tunnel vision. I should have gotten up and left at this point but finally grabbed a staff member to ask for a menu. He said he would return with one. Cue being ignored another 7 minutes. I finally went up to the till and the waitress who had JUST ignored me was now all smiley. I ordered the same meal I had last time, the Djhuan omelette and it was just as delicious as the first time. The chai latte though was so tasteless - once again, I’m proved chai without dairy is just pointless. I got some treats for takeaway and admittingly most were delicious, namely the brownie and baklava. But the hard lump of chocolate biscuit: throw it away. Not sure I would return with such AWFUL “service.” Even the cashier at the adjacent store comes across as grumpy. One bonus: dog friendly. A year ago: SO happy with the carrot and rice croquettes… total yum! Excellent portion size. Plus the vegan sauces with it are fantastically moreish. I could have licked the pots! I got the Dujhan Galette as my main. The portion size is huge so a great value for the price. I ate about half and had the rest of lunch the next day. I found the galette lacking in flavour compared to the croquettes to be honest, but it is stuffed with veggies 🥕 I left feeling pleasantly full but not stuffed. I would DEFINITELY return to try other galettes and so many other menu options including smoothies, the sandwiches etc etc. The Brazilian owner is incredibly sweet and I’m so glad I could be served 20 minutes before closing time. Great shop next door too. I stocked up on some goodies like dried mango slices (a weakness of mine), a vanilla and coconut muesli and tinned goods. Incredibly fun decor and pop music playing. Will return, just wish wasn’t so far away from Lewisham/Greenwich. Open a branch here please 🙏

Beautifully spiced food and the coffee is rich and brewed perfectly. The shop is a menagerie of organic produce from organic herbs to wooden greetings cards. Very chilled atmosphere rarely busy. Perfect sanctuary in London

The food and the atmosphere of the place were both amazing. We visited on a Sunday with a couple of friends and everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

I came here with a group of six on Sunday. It was very cold when we arrived - heating had clearly been turned off to save costs which really didn’t give it a welcoming vibe at all. It steadily got from bad to worse. Tables were horribly close to each other and almost felt like our group were invading the table next to us. The cook looked miserable and what was worse was the lady who owned the place. Towards the end of our meal, two people had come in and she proceeded to yell at them and chase them down the street. It was really shocking for our entire table as we had obviously come for a good time only for the end of it to be ruined by her senseless screaming. As I like supporting local businesses, I was totally shocked to discover that she shouted at potential customers in such a way that would make me reconsider coming again. I really regretted giving her my business and as a local, am disappointed I’m going to have to look for a new place! A memorable brunch….for all the wrong reasons!

Decided to visit Pipoca after hearing good things online and from friends...and wasn't disappointed. Probably the tastiest vegan brunch I have had in a long time, felt real homemade, could taste all the elements in the hearty bean stew. Had the Mexican brunch (my partner had the equally delicious Brixton Brunch!) and we shared the Cassava chips. The staff were friendly and chatty, just lots of welcoming vibes...will 100% be returning to try other dishes on the menu! Steven.

This place is truly incredible, it has such a nice feeling as soon as you walk in. There is a machine to make your peanut butter fresh, all the produce is suitable for vegans, zero-waste AND sustainable - more organic produce would be nice. The coffee is nice, perhaps nicer beans could be used. The food is hit and miss, some food is surprisingly bland like the bagel options, other food like the bakery and other items on the menu are so delicious. Choose wisely :) Regardless, you will have such a nice time here, have a little shop and look around, sit outside with a coffee, a chat and some food!!! ENJOY, you don't come by these places often!!!

Go vegan without sacrifice or compromise. This vegan restaurant is for everyone. I ate a delicious “gorgonzolla”galette washed down with a quality vegan white wine. Really comfortable, relaxed canteen atmosphere. Service is attentive and enthusiastic. Masks and other safety measures very present but did not undermine our enjoyment. The interior is beautiful. The shop ( next to restaurant) is full of exciting stuff. Really loved this place. Real food - natural and unpretentious and fun.

We love vegan food but... this place is hit or miss. Hot drinks are ok, avocado toast is good but small, crepes were not to our taste at all!!! Service was poor. Covid precautions were very much lacking.

Hello Pipocas, It’s time, you know? It’s time to take the time that we have now, this blessing in the middle of chaos, to try to express in words some feelings, but it’s not easy, not at all, how can I express in words the deliciously sensation of a Spanish or avocado toast, the warmness of your ginger tea and the comfort of your amazing care and hospitality? I’ve been trying for a week, to transfer my feelings to a piece of paper and all I can think about during this demanding challenge are your deserts, especially the ones with chocolate, those are my weakness. The truth is, in these awkward times, I miss to go and visit you guys, all your atmosphere is so comfortable to me, the plants, the smell, that old cool and eco friendly environment, it’s all so close to what I feel perfection should be and that makes me feel genuinely happy! That is why I visit you often, that is why I brought my parents, my friends and my boyfriend there, not because I believe in veganism and in a more sustainable and kinder way of thinking and living (although it’s totally what I stand for), but because I feel so lucky to have found such a nice, careful and peaceful place where I can rest, feel safe, proudly take my loved ones and enjoy a clean delicious meal. London can be amazingly challenging, amazingly encouraging, amazingly incredible, Brixton is this amazing mix of cultures and people where always something happens, definitely energizing but overwhelming sometimes, and for me you are a pearl in my days off morning or afternoon brunches, and those sausages… Holy universe...!! Anyway, I wanted to tell you that you don’t sell and serve food, you are important, you make a difference in people’s days, you can make people happier. YOU build Smiles  Thank you for that! I can’t wait to see you all again soon. Stay safe, stay positive! Sofia Rocha
