Place was dirty tables were not clean food on floor. Staff didn’t seem to care. Only fish choice was cod😳 waited a while for food because staff member had forgot to put it on order

Been here multiple times with an Autistic child and the blonde lady is the most patient kind and caring lady i have came across and soo understanding of a child with LD the food is also amazing and one of the nicest chip shops i have ate at Thank You so much!! and i we will always use you!!

If there is a better fish and chip shop in redcar for pensioners fish and chips I haven't found it. Always lovely. Staff always polite

Wouldn't really recommend this to anybody. The chips were hard - not like the chips you expect from a fish and chip shop, the gravy was full of lumps - obviously just a sort of Bisto gravy but it's harder to make with lumps than without. The batter on the cod was nice but the fish itself was deep fried too long and was somewhat dry.

So I rang them up asked for my money back as the fish was Luke warm and not hot they then said oh there’s not a problem then hung up when I asked about a refund. Shocking customer service

When they say dog friendly they mean it. We ordered a sausage for the dog and it was chopped up, cooled in the fridge and served separately (they also brought her a drink). The fish and chips (and spam fritter) we ordered were pretty good too and the portion size generous...

Visited here 3 days ago for the first and last time. The plusses; Fish and chips was lovely, nice and fresh and hot and a good portion. Didn't have to wait very long to receive food. It was nice and clean there. The minuses; As the menu clearly displayed that tea was available, i asked for a cup of tea and the man said "No hot drinks today, only cold drinks!" To which i declined. The first i knew about my meal being ready was a woman behind the counter bawling out loudly "Cod and chips, cod and chips!" about 3 or 4 times. When i realised that it was my meal that i expected to be brought to the table, but in fact it was evident that i had to go back up to the counter to receive it. Very inconvenient, as my legs aren't the best and neither is the seating where the 2 seats are wedged together. I had to clamber over the outer seat to get the meal. I cannot believe that i had to go back up to the counter for my meal. No table service, no plate only a box, no knife and fork, but a wooden fork. When I asked the man who took the order, for a proper knife and fork, he replied "There isn't one, if so it would be more expensive!" So am I to believe that it costs extra to have a proper knife and fork? When l first arrived it was rather quiet and only 1 man serving, but shortly afterwards it became somewhat busy & he called out 3 or 4 members of staff (all women). The noise soon became more like a parrot house at the London zoo, all of them behind the counter were shouting and laughing between themselves in between shouting out each customer's order as they became available. Also l found the man who served me to be rather abrupt as each time i asked him something he answered as though he was being on the defensive all the time. As the saying goes, "If l never visit here again (which l won't) it will be too soon!"

This is a great little fish and chip shop which fronts on to the seafront looking over the new win turbines which have a majesty of their own The staff are very friendly and the food is good and the portions are large It is a dog friendly chippy and the prices are reasonable and they do a pensioners special

My problem was not with the food, I believe the food had a problem with me. I personally witnessed a staff member attempt to claw a fish out of the boiling hot oil without any utensils and to then claim its standard procedure when heavily challenged. Fish was medium rare, could still taste the sea. Chips were well done and left an unpleasant feeling shortly after which clouded my judgement for the day. But this was only the beginning. Halfway through my food, what sounded like the waves crashing against the window turned out to be a youth pushing his bare bottom up against the window so hard Gavin from auto glass was the only option to sort it out. It was like looking at mole hill that someone got stuck down. What followed was the largest and loudest fart, in fact so loud my tea vibrated of the table and the owner refused to refund me for it or replace it. Redcar is an unpleasant place as it is, however this act of derogatory really did ruin my day.

Extremely greasy food, like I know fish and chips arnt exactly healthy but when there's enough oil in the bottom of your tray to run a car engine it's a little off putting. Also shop itself doesn't exactly scream hygiene...... Grim.

Ordered a Parmo to take back to West Yorkshire because you just can’t beat a North East original Parmo…. I asked the staff how best to warm it up and they told me to put it in the grill! All I can say is WOW… best Parmo ever! Fast, friendly staff and the young lad who made the Parmo… keep at it lad, not just a pretty face!

We always call in here whenever we visit Redcar because the fish is extremely fresh and you get very good portions of chips and mushy peas The staff are very pleasant and the restaurant is dog friendly It’s good value for money and they do a pensioner’s special for £5.50

The pensioner's meal was priced well at £5.50 for fish, chips, peas and tea. The piece of fish was certainly large and thick but it was chewy. The peas were an unhealthy looking bright vivid green. The chips were by and large bits and pointy ends. The seagulls got most of it and I won't be going there again. The staff seemed pleasant enough.

Two of us enjoyed fish and chips, one of us really enjoyed the veggie burger, but one of our items was missing from the 4th person. Arrived quickly though.

We went yesterday.i am in shock how disgusting this place is. The floor was filthy when we went in with squashed chips, papers.four girls behind the counter one with her coat on.two with dirty uniforms on.not one of them had a mask on!!!!!! Behind the counter was filty too fat and chips all over the top of fryers not cleaned down at all.i didnt get anything after i seen the state of the place my husband got chips they were awful cold and little scrapy chips with black burnt scraps in too.absolutley avoid this place.health and safety would have a field day and close the place down.no professionalism or pride whatsoever by the staff.

Ordered two parmesans, fish and chips and child’s fish meal. First Parmesan was fine however the one shown in picture which is all supposed to be a full Parmesan was less than half the size! Contacted the shop directly however they refused to do anything about it claiming it was due to the size of the box and advising us to post picture on Uber eats to complain to them. Not the best business management or customer service if your advising customers to post bad quality food online!!!

I came here yesterday and the girls were so bubbly and friendly. I was so happy with the service I was given. The food was absolutely gorgeous and the fish was so thick and not greasy what so ever. Would recommend to anybody.

We usually go to the Little Chip but decided to give this place a go instead. I wish I hadn't bothered. The service is unfriendly and the batter on my sausage was thick and so raw that it resembled bread or cake more than batter. It looked like the corndogs that you get in America. To top it off, there was a brunette hair in my food AND in my daughters food so most of it went in the bin. Utterly vile.

I ordered two small chips with gravy, the women was very rude and blunt. The chips were undercooked, greasy, hard and barley had a table soon if gravy splashed on them. The chips were un edible! Waste if money.

We started using this shop throughout lock door and it never fails to please! Gorgeous girls behind the counter who are always bubbly and are naturally born entertainers. Enjoy our visit every time and we will be coming again.

Visited 20.06.2020 ordered a lightly battered fish with chips. It was the scrappiest piece of fish I have ever had. Most of it went in the bin. Considering it was cooked to order it was greasy and totally rank

When getting home there was a long blonde hair in my tray of chips lady behind counter serving didnt have hair covered was hanging loosly food went in the bin disgusting

I came back today after coming over the Christmas period, and I'm glad I did.The food was cooked fresh as I ordered it and was top notch, full of flavour and no grease!The girls were really nice and made sure we were well looked after... It was good to see what a bond they had with the banter and gentle ribbing!Last time I came the young girl was in and it was nice to see the owners giving a young'un a chance in life... I will be back again next month for definate.

Came in with family today, young lady serving was lovely. Fish and chips were gorgeous. Everything cooked nice and fresh. Enjoyed our visit, will be visiting again.

The rudest staff I have ever come across, who were arguing over who served me (neither wanted to) , they clearly didn't want to be there. Timely and a joke. Don't waste your time or your money. Try redcars other lovely restaurants don't be lured in by it's handy location. Not a manner between them, avoid.

A shocking disgraceFood not edible at all, the chips were black and we could'nt find any fish worth eating ...Chucked it in the bin.The place was filthy.How on earth they have a 5 star food rating.. I witnessed the staff wiping their hands on each others clothing after handling raw fish then go onto serving the customers.. No customer relations at all, quite rude as well.Save your money!!

Visted here for the 1st time yesterday. 2 lady staff were nice & friendly. I ordered fish & chips 3 times & a kids meal for my son for take out. I was told I had to wait for the nuggets which I didn't mind as I knew they wouldn't be done. What i didn't expect was for the woman to take a big bag of iceland nuggets out to batter then fry . The prices were abit steep but expect it in a seaside town. The fish and chips were nice but abit greasy .I don't know if i would visit again .

Very slow service and food was a let down. Made to wait 20 mins for 2 Portions of chips and drink prices are very high.

By far the worse chippy I have ever been to was basically hard scraps off to seabreeze now for food as the majority of it was inedible, should of walked out before I payed the customer service was that bad, very rude snotty women, id have been embarrassed to sell someone a bun full of chips that had been sat there all day so much so there was absolutely no potato in them and they were rock hard, not to mention I payed for a curry she asked me if I wanted small or large, then when I asked for it at the end she said I never payed or asked for one

Superb menu, particularly the small plates selection (which aren't so small!). Excellent value for families and couples alike.

Reviewing on behalf of my sister. Fish was underwhelming. Beware they fry everything in beef dripping (which in this day and age has gone out with the ark). Made my sister ill. No good if you're vegetarian or vegan

First time we visited. Very clean. Very pleasant young lady serving. Seating ample and again clean. Had pensioner's special - fish, chips, peas, tea or soft drink £4. My wife didn't want peas so was offered bread bun. Fish very good size. Freshly cooked and well cooked. Will return.

Greasy counter top staff happier to talk amongst themselves, lacked staff to keep tables clean. Fish and chip portions larger but greasy have had much better elsewhere along the seafront. Worth walking past and trying further along the esplanade - shame could be good.

Very nice big tasty chips Great portions ! Only thing there are a bit slow when it comes to serving people. Needs tables and chairs outside also for when nice as too hot inside. Very reasonable price for a trip to the seaside.

Located mid-way between the sites of the former Redcar and Coatham piers, it's difficult to imagine this place as having a view of them - especially as Coatham Pier was largely destroyed in 1898 and the remains of Redcar's pier were demolished in 1981. Perhaps the owners are referring to the 'purple pinnacle' known as The Beacon, which stands opposite.

Staff ok not particularly friendly or welcoming unless you are well known to them ( I observed) also you will recieve priority servive if you are lucky enough to be in this group. Had cuppa and piece of cake. Ok and ok. The view for me is really all this place has going for it, or maybe I was unfortunate on both of my visits...sorry.

We have visited this fish shop regularly for a few years now. I always get fish, chips, mushy peas and scraps and enjoy every last crumb.
