Pieno-Lleno in Southend-on-Sea

This was a first time visit for us having been recommended by a friend. The food was excellent & all the staff very polite and friendly.

I had heard good reviews about this place but can't understand why. The food was bland and flavourless. No spice. No heat. My chicken burrito only had 2 pieces of chicken in and my friend's vegetarian burrito had a piece of chicken in that should not have been there. Very overpriced for boring, bland and flavourless food

We come here every year while we are visiting to see the fireworks. Food is always amazing staff are so friendly and welcoming. Can’treccomend it highly enough. Thanks

Managed to squeeze us in on Friday early evening for my six year old sons last-minute-request for a Mexican birthday-meal. Great service, food was really lovely (I'd love to go back without two young children for a feast) and the staff even came over with sombreros to sing happy birthday!

Our first ever visit to Pieno-Lleno for a birthday meal. A good selection of meals available, with my choice being the Chicken Fajitas. The food arrived piping hot and tasted delicious. We will definitely return in the near future to try out the tacos 👍🏻 Update - Visited another couple of times since and both were just as good as the first visit. Lovely food and good service. 👍🏻

First timer here...and o my i was not dissapointed at all,place is quaint,calm and welcoming,food was absolutely beAutiful and the staff were amazing! Cant rate the place/staff enough. Wonderful evening and looking forward to the next time :0)

We had the worst dining experience ever at this restaurant. The service was terrible, and the waiter, Pedro, was extremely rude. He clearly doesn't know how to speak to customers properly. The staff was constantly moving around, not letting us eat in peace. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant in Southend—it's the worst one we've ever been to.

I love it here. A family run restaurant you can feel that the staff are part of the family, the service is always good and the food always excellent.

Visited for a weekend away. Found on google! Really cute restaurant, outside area was really tidy and nice. Service was great. Lady with the broken ankle was so sweet and seem to know everyone walking through the door personally! I’m not surprised why people keep returning. Food was great, had a sharing platter (not the whole thing) and a fajita. Defo recommend both! 11/10 👍🏼👍🏼

The vegan Vegetable chimichanga was basically flavourless, and without substance. The contents had the texture and flavour if cheap canned veg soup. Bland guacamole. I would suggest to the chef they look into chili recipes such as walnut meat, and using nutritional yeast flakes and/Marmite to get that umami which you associate with a meat chili. The lack of adequate meat replacement left me...hungry hungry. The meat options were good, and the staff were nice.

What a wonderful night at Pieno Lleno this evening. Rang to book an hour before as the on line reservation system said there were no bookings available and how pleased were we that we did. Shown to our table promptly, given menus and offered drinks. Chose the nachos and halloumi and chorizo as starters followed by fajita salad and mixed tacos for mains. Finished it off by sharing some churros. All food was really tasty and good portions but it was the service that made the evening. Adrianne and the rest of the team were all really smiley and attentive and made the night a wonderful experience. Go if you can. You will not be disappointed.

Love this restaurant! Would recommend to everyone who loves Mexican food. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The food is always (and I mean always) excellent. We have been here numerous times and never had a bad meal, genuinely. The only thing I would say is make sure you book at peak times of the evening as it can get busy.

I have been to this restaurant many times and it never disappoints. The Mexican food is very tasty and there are other dishes to have that are not spicy or Mexican. The inside of the restaurant is well laid out and nicely decorated.

We didn't have a booking but it was walking distance from our hotel and they had a table for us. Friendly and welcoming staff and lovely food. Not the cheapest but well worth a visit. We had pizza left to take away.

Staff are so friendly and make the restaurant a lovely welcoming place to visit. There are a number of wonderful gluten free options on the menu and the food is amazing.

Went there for birthday meal. The waiter was very kind and attentive to us. The food was a blast satisfying an American Caribbean and Nigerian palate. The spices were on point. I had a lovely cheesecake ice cream dessert complimentary and the ambiance and decor was to die for. Very close to the high street though a bit hidden. My son did his homework and what a gem this place is?

What a find. Just a few minutes walk from adventure island. A great place to eat after a fun packed day. Plenty of variety on the menu and kids meals deals too. The food was so good, the service was lovely and the price was affordable. We will definitely return next time we are in Southend.

My wife and I were visiting Southend for the first time. I looked up this restaurant beforehand and the reviews looked very good so we tried it out. It was a Monday night and the food, service and ambience was excellent. There was a steady flow of customers, I thoroughly recommend it.

worse place ever cumstomer service is shocking blaming the driver when they just kept adding time first was ment to be delivered by 7 15 then changed to 8 20 for them to call me at 7 50 say the driver has gone and it's drivers thought will never order from this place again

This is an amazing place! The food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant! My husband and I came out for his birthday and we had a full 3 course meal for less than £62! For the quality of the food and service, you cannot complain!

The worst mexican restaurant I've ever been to! I went for a dinner with 3 friends. The cocktails were poor. The starters were tasteless. The main courses were a complete disappointment. There was no tabasco on a Mexican restaurant (...) the hot sauce wasn't hot, and the guacamole only had the name. ...Terrible! I will never return and strongly advise against!

Was excited for an authentic Mexican meal….only to find carbonara and spring rolls on the menu.

We go there every couple of months, it is lively, the food is great and the service is exceptional.

We went with our girls to celebrate my husbands birthday, our wedding anniversary, my daughter completing university and the husband surviving heart surgery. We wanted something a little different and this fitted the bill.

Iv heard so much about this Mexican by different people, so I thought its time to give it a try.. I booked a table for myself and a few friends for a Friday night. Upon entering we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to our table. The restaurant was near to full up. A couple of birthday celebrations, to which the staff put hats on, turned up music up to clap and sing to ‘Happy Birthday’ it was Fantastic! Looking through the menu, there was so much to choose from. We decided to share a starter of nachos, so we had more room for mains. The nachos were lovely. We all chose different mains, so we could all have a try of the different dishes. We ordered a Mexican paella, a chilli & rice, chicken tacos and chicken fajitas.. Food was served after a short wait. We were busy chatting and enjoying the atmosphere, so unsure how long we were waiting but it wasn’t that long .. when the food was served by a friendly, bubbly waitress, it was fresh and hot. Good size portion sizes aswell. On trying all of the dishes, I must say they were all delicious! Very little left overs. Even tho we were full from our lovely mains, we ordered the cheesecake & ice cream to share. That was delicious too. Reasonable prices for good food and atmosphere.. Thank you all for a lovely evening. We will definitely be returning.

I first visited this restaurant for a friends 60th birthday. I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff and the amazing service. I returned with my Sister and brother in law as this amazing place has to be shared. Staff are 5 * and thd food is not just amazing, but very reasonably priced. We will all be returning.

As soon as you walk in the door you can smell that it's a good restaurant 😌 the staff are very welcoming & polite, the atmosphere is vibing which makes you feel comfortable. OMG the food is soooo flavoured, every dish we had was so scrummy & we all had different dishes, fish, pulled pork, enchiladas, nachos. Every dish was 💯 10/10 for this dining experience 😋 It was a special birthday & they embraced it so we will be coming back & we will definitely recommend.

First time going here, been on my bucket list of restaurants for some time, based on the reviews and other people’s reactions. Lovely food, but we didn’t get the sauces with the three Churros which was a little disappointing.

We booked to dine her for an anniversary treat and wasn’t disappointed. Absolutely delicious and big portions. Highly recommend the Jalapeño bullets and Chimichanga. My hubby said the beef in his was perfect- not chewy at all and so tender. The cocktails and Margaritas also gorgeous and very punchy! Staff are lovely and a friendly atmosphere. Definitely be back when we return to Southend one day! Well done to you all for ticking every box!

What a hidden gem! Tucjed away from the main strip at Southend, I had driven past this restaurant a few times and not noticed it. However, now that I know where it is, it has become my favourite place for dinner when visiting Southend. Fantastic Mexican food, but don't worry if someone in your group doesn't want to participate, there are pizza and pasta options available. Well worth a visit!

It was the first time I went to this restaurant. The location is close to the beach, about 5 minutes. We started with the starters, mozzarella sticks with tomato sauce and chorizo ​​with haloumi cheese. Then we served the perch with a side of green beans, potatoes, spinach and very flavorful onions, Mexican-style onion rings and potatoes. For dessert I chose chorus with ice cream and maple syrup, super delicious. Excellent service. Very kind and friendly staff. We will definitely return to this restaurant to try other dishes on the menu.

Love this restaurant. Such a hidden gem in Southend. The food is always amazing but what makes it great is the staff. We visited yesterday and the main waitress who has been there on many of our visits was amazing. Such great customer service. She had a new member of staff with her and she was great showing him the ropes being very patient with him . All the food came out together we were a large table on a busy Friday evening.

Awful, I live 3 mins away from the restaurant and driver went down wrong roads multiple of times and food should have been piping and was like warm. Will be complaining via email.

My family and I love this restaurant. We pick up a takeaway regularly, and book to eat in when we have visitors. I can honestly say that we have never had a disappointing visit here.
