I booked htis for my birthday dinner because they had oysters (which were excellent) and gluten free past options. Besides the oysters, everything besides the oysters was pretty meh, to be honest. The steak my partner ordered was over cooked. The pizza my son ordered was under cooked, and my pasta was good, but nothing I could not have made myself. The chocolate truffles at the end were also very good. Plus, they make sure to route you through the bar before seating you, so you stat drinking early. The service was fine, but it was chaotic and loud.

Very nice food, only stayed for the main as was going for drinks afterwards. Had king prawn pasta which was really good. 2 mains and 2 drinks each came to around £75 so reasonable price too.

Large, long tables and a very well-kept atmosphere for a feast with family or friends. Side salad with almost no sauce, lasagna with almost no meat, rather casual service, which should offer every guest (!) a good experience for these rather higher prices. Maybe we were just unlucky? Maybe the restaurant is a bit spoiled for success? In any case, we will come back soon and give it a second chance.

I've only been once, but it was an unforgettable evening with loved ones. We indulged in way too much food, and the highlight was the carbonara prepared in a cheese wheel - such a treat!

Fantastic food and fabulous service ! We had a lovely dining experience at Piccolinos - the best steak I remember having in a long time and tasty scallops and chocolate desert. The service really made it for us though - Jose was friendly, helpful, funny and we were also on a time scale and he ensured we were able to have three courses in the time we had without feeling rushed!

This place is amazing, food was stunning and well presented. A* service. Had bruschetta and fillet steak. Everything that my table ordered look so good. Definitely recommend.

We arrived during a busy lunch service. Had the lunch time two course special. Calamari to start with, followed by a very nice mushroom risotto. My husband had arrabbiata, which was OK, lacking in flavour, and the pasta was too undercooked. Took our drinks to the bar to free up our table. Advice: Don't leave your bill on the bar after paying. They chase you very vocally, asking if you have paid (which I can only assume some people don't). I had paid and found it somewhat embarrassing. Would I go back again, probably. It has a nice bar area and outdoor pavement space for dining.

Lauren was the best chef i’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering, her deserts were divine. She was absolutely phenomenal also Jose was an absolutely fantastic server and gave me and my friends the most incredible experience at picolo. Lauren even let me know where the toilets were, incredibly down to earth and an enjoyable comforting environment.

Lovely place where I often take business contacts to dine. Food and service is always first rate and the atmosphere is convivial. Our waiter on this occasion was José who was friendly and helpful without ever being obtrusive. My companion couldn’t decide what to choose and José made a recommendation for a vegetarian dish (my companion is a confirmed meat eater). My friend had the dish and loved it so thanks José!

For a number of years any solo trip to Manchester isn’t complete without a meal at piccolino’s. The food is exceptional and guaranteed fresh, 10/10 service there’s no need to ask for anything they will offer and the atmosphere is lively, bright and interior is clean. Veronica was my server on Thursday lunch and she particularly made me want to write a review, thank you for always being the perfect addition to my days.

My five colleagues and I dined on a busy Wednesday evening. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed it. We had three bottles of wine - a Gavi, a Brunello and an Amarone and they were all good. Our server (Remus) was great and, as we work in hospitality, we know what a difference good staff can make. All of my group were pleased that I had chosen this restaurant after a busy day working at a trade show. I've dined in the Knutsford restaurant a couple of times and it seems that the standards are consistently high across the group.

We came across Piccolino on a Sunday night and were warmly greeted by the staff at front of house. The decor and ambience is beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. All of the dishes we chose were delicious. The highlight for us was Jose our waiter. We’ve been travelling for close to 6 weeks eating out every night and because of him, we had the most memorable evening. He was attentive, funny and was able to connect with each of us through great conversation. Jose is the reason we will come back for dinner at Piccolino when we are next in Manchester!

| have always wanted to visit here and did so recently on a Saturday night. The place was really buzzing and had a great vibe. Service was very good and our waitress, Rosy, was fabulous. Unfortunately the food was not quite up to the standard you'd expect. The starters came very quickly (too quickly!) but were rather disappointing.. The Arancini was to stodgy and not crisp on the outside. The Fish Skewers were lacking in flavour and rather bland (despite the hefty price). My partners King Prawns were very good though. With top-end prices you'd expect rather more and for every detail on the plates to be spot-on.

I had a spagna pizza. It was delicious. It seemed quite busy for a Monday lunchtime, which made for a good atmosphere, but service was still good. Discount offer made it especially worthwhile, but without the discount I would say arguably it's a bit expensive for what you get.

I go into Manchester a couple of times a year but this is an essential visit for some top quality Italian cuisine! Five stars, heartily recommended.

Great menu will quality food. Service lacking compared to other branches.

My co-diners had the steak and that looked good. I had the aubergine bake and while tasty was a much smaller portion and was simply plonked on the plate. Hardly any presentation. No salad or other garnish. Veggie option felt like an afterthought.

My wife and myself celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Piccolino on Sunday 1st September.The food service and the staff were fantastic.Everything was perfect.There is a special thanks to Jose who was amazing on the day and made our day so special!

We stopped in for breakfast, the coffee was great, the bread was fantastic, and it looked like they would serve some great dinner with great looking food on display.

Absolutely terrible, the worst meal in a long time. Service slow, Chateaubriand was over cooked, extremely tough and not the correct cut. It was the tail end not from the middle of the fillet as is the norm. My Grandson’s fillet steak was also tough. The chips were cold but replaced OK. Salt and Pepper mills both empty, replaced with another empty salt mill, replaced again but it did not work.  The Manager played with it, saying in a pompous arrogant manner that it required adjustment. His customer facing skills leave a lot to be desired. Both the bar and our table were not cleaned very well, sticky patches from previous spilt drinks etc. The waitress cleared plates whilst one of us was still eating. Expensive, noisy, poor food, poor service, an experience not to be repeated. Disappointing as had a good meal in their Sunningdale restaurant.

This was a birthday treat, although I had stated this on the booking, no mention was made of this. The food was not great, prawns in the starter were soggy and soapy ? Frozen. Risotto was overcooked with warm split alborio rice, surely an Italian restaurant should make a decent one.

I was there with a group of colleagues, the atmosphere is so nice and the food very good, the pizza was very authentic Italian. I really enjoyed it. The service was very good and many Italians waiters, all very nice and helpful, Veronica our waitresses was particularly nice I definitely would eat there again I highly recommend this place.

Our first night in Manchester, it was raining cats and dogs and we felt like a slap up dinner. A quick check of Google and a read of the reviews and we decided to book a table. Right from the moment Alfio welcomed us to the restaurant we felt at home. His service was impeccable, the food was great and our wine, limoncello and coffee were all lovely to drink. I opted for the carbonara which was superb and my partner felt the same way about her casarecce pollo. We accompanied our pastas with Insalate Primavera and it was a delicious salad and a perfect accompaniment for the pastas. For desert I had a delicious tiramisu and my partner was full of praise for her tortino cioccolato. All up, a great dining experience.

Attended last night for my sons 21st Birthday.Thus us a beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere for a Tuesday glad we booked as it was very busy.Our waiter Alfio was very attentive and couldn’t do enough . I ordered chicken livers in masala and they were so tender lovely . After garlic bread selection for starters my son had a wagu steak 🥩 and loved it while my husband had fillet and I had seafood skewers.My only criticism would be I didn’t like the seasoning on the skewers but that was it. Nice size portions and a booth for that added luxury . I think you have to book in advance for a booth as there are only two of them. Staff were all amazing and a big shout out to Alfio who made my sons birthday really special .Great place and great atmosphere . Also on a Monday and Tuesday 15% off the food bill !!! Bravo 🙌

Super clean and sparkling. Top knoch waiting personnel. Efficient & Fast as one would expect at a reputable establishment. CAFÉ GRANDE is no run of the mill eatery. A place to see and be seen. Top marks for eloquence and panache. It's a perfect place for that special proposal. 😍
