Piccola Taverna Lindley in Kirklees

I ordered for a family of 8, who all wanted Italian. I don't eat cheese but was happy to order a burger, as they sounded good from the menu description. The rest of the family enjoyed their pizzas and pastas - so that's what the four stars are for. But despite requesting 'no cheese' on my burger in the special instructions on Just-Eat, my burger was covered in it. The burger patties were of the kind you get in a fun fair, not hand-made as I'd imagined, and the chips were soggy. So no stars for my bit, which I couldn't eat.

Honestly the best pizza around. Napolitan style, fresh ingredients and made fresh. Great spot and found out that you can eat in aswel. Highly recommend.

Fantastic gluten free options, one of the owners is coeliac so really aware of gluten free. Brilliant friendly service. Luca very friendly

My partner loves this restaurant we ordered the calzone gluten free carbonara and a lasagne with the tiramisu and the food is to die for Mamma just knows how to cook it's our last night in town before moving across country and it wouldn't be right if they weren't our last meal if you want authentic Italian food this place is where it is if we could get them to cater our wedding or hell the rest of our lives we would stop wasting your time reading these and just order already 😍

Gluten free pizza!!! 🍕🍕🍕 🤩 So happy we have found this gem! My husband is coeliac and finding gluten free pizza is not easy. He says it’s the best pizza he’s ever had. The base was lovely and soft. Thank you for catering gluten free options 🙌

Ordered a delivery it came really quick but the pizza was really dry and hardly any toppings won't be ordering again 😒

Ordered a Calzone, which was just cheese and ham, no sauce. The pollo pasta had a very funny taste and smell to it, overly cheesy and the chicken was rubbery. Was very disappointed.

I ordered 26 pizzas for my birthday on New year's Day, Salvo opened up early so he could make my order. The pizzas were fantastic (as always)

Just bought 3 pizzas and 3 slices of chocolate cake from here… sensational! My pizza was gluten free I cannot begin to describe how good it was, this is the best pizza I’ve had since discovering I was celiac 10 years ago, I nearly cried tears of joy. My family has the regular gluten pizza, they said it was amazing pizza. This is now our go to place for pizza

Had the pizza Romagnola and it was absolutely delicious. Very authentic Italian pizza, just what we were hoping for. Friendly chat as we ordered made for a pleasant experience. We'll definitely be back. I'll take a photo of the pizza next time because it certainly looked as good as it tasted.

If you order anything from this restaurant order that damn tiramisu it is to die for I got 2 slices and wish I got more... I also got the gluten free lasagna and gluten free usually tastes like cardboard but this lasagna not only tastes amazing it was fresh, super cheesy and sooo yummy The staff were amazing very friendly and accommodating I will definitely be ordering again may even visit the restaurant

A true Italian experience like no other!! the passion that the staff put into the food is clearly shown with the service and food being amazing!! As somewhat of an aficionado of Italian cuisine I certainly know how to spot good authentic food and it is clearly shown, it certainly helps that the chefs are Sicilian so they truly get how to make the food special. I would also like to commend them on the gluten free options provided, having struggled for years to find suitable places in the area that cater for this its refreshing to see a place that takes great care with this.

This is a little gem of a restaurant. Excellent food, wonderful and attentive staff. Went for my birthday (and the previous week) and was made to feel so welcome. Cannoli is heaven ! Cannot wait to go again. Thank you so much.

Amazing food and very helpful and friendly staff

The first takeaway gluten free pizza I have had delivered to my home that tasted FANTASTIC!! Chips were nice and hot too. Definitely will be ordering again when the budget allows. Also gluten free takeaway is VERY RARE in my experience. Thank you so much, it was wonderful to not have to cook this evening. Note:- I also ordered the chocolate fudge cake, I'm so full I've not eaten it yet! So will post a review about that separately as I've heard really positive reviews so my expectations are high

Ordered a lasagne ,half half pizza , diavola and Quattro cheesy chips every bit has been perfect and it’s brilliant to find an authentic Italian pizzeria in your back yard . Would so highly recommend to eat in as the staff go an extra mile

Just had the pleasure of dining out at Piccola Taverna, Huddersfield. The first feeling you get is authentic and friendly. We were greeted by the son, charming, funny and charismatic, such a great start to our rare evening out(being parents, these are rare moments lol). . We didn’t have to wait long to be served and picked from a very wealthy menu, offering a plethora of Vegetarian, Meat and Gluten Free options, we felt spoilt. We chose Pizza Funghi, Penne Napoli, Garlic Mushrooms and Mediterranean Salad complimented with a Rose Wine. . Didn’t take long before the food arrived, and well, blown away! We were away in Italy early March this year, the meal we had tonight made us feel like we were back in Italy! Authentic food, flavours and craftsmanship! If you want somewhere that feels they put love and passion in making and preparing your food, Piccola Taverna Huddersfield is this place to be! We will be back, many more times! . We had such a great evening, talking to the owners and their family, it felt like home. Highly recommend, it’s a little piece of Italy in Huddersfield! . Can’t recommend this venue highly enough. Came for a sneaky date night after dropping the kids off at a dance. What a hidden gem. Through the busy takeaway front downstairs to the most romantic and cosy venue. Service and laughs were great, couple that with the fantastic food and you have yourself a 5 Star place to eat. It does not get much more authentic than Piccola Taverna. Owned by the most friendly family, they serve the most exquisite Italian food at incredibly wallet friendly prices. My fiance and I have been long term takeaway customers and only recently realised that you can eat in! We booked in for our anniversary and were delighted by the experience. It's a restaurant that let's the food do the talking, and it does it very well indeed. It would be amazing to see Piccola Taverna advertise their restaurant, as I only found out that you could dine in by checking the reviews here. Perhaps they could set themselves up with a tripadvisor page

Went for a recent family get together! So warm and welcoming, and so looked after by Salvo, Katie and the whole team. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious! Would absolutely recommend - It's ideal to hire for private parties and family do's and amazing value too!

Ate dinner at this lil spot the other week and WOW! Found it by chance on Google and wasn't entirely certain it wasn't a takeaway bt they have a gorgeous lil seating area hidden away downstairs. It was a Thursday night and were the only ones in but the owners made the atmosphere 4 us. There was music, banter, good service and excellent food! (We had a mushroom/meat feast pizza bt they also do pasta) Happy to support a decent, authentic, family run business. We'll definitely be back! X

Not 100% sure if the food is definitely gluten free or not i haven’t had any side effects I don’t think it doesn’t taste like it’s gluten free although I could be wrong

We had an evening meal here with friends and it was amazing. There were 4 adult and 3 children aged between 10 -12. The service was fantastic from the minute we arrived. The drinks order was taken swiftly and we were then given time to look over the menu. Everything we asked for was catered for, incuding my gluten free requirements. All the staff are very friendly and it's a truly family run business. The Owner/Chef has ceoliac which gave me great confidence that the food would be prepared in a gluten free environment and that the restaurant has a full understanding of food intolerance. The service throughout the evening was superb. The desserts were also gluten free, but I was so full from the amazing food, I just had to take a cheesecake home with me! I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants an authentic Italian meal in a cosy family environment. We will definitely be going back.

Absolute 10/10 meal everything was cooked perfectly not too much or too little and every flavour has depth. Service was also amazing very welcoming + the food and drinks came as soon as we ordered it! Definitely going again would 10000% recommend 🫡

Terrible service. Ordered on an app and they didn’t approve it for 10 minutes, had to ring up and they finally approved it and said food would be with me in 30-40 minutes. Nothing for an hour to then get a call saying it’s here, for my food and it’s all cold!! The pizza is stuck to the cardboard box so half the pizza has gone and is mushed up with cardboard. Tiniest tub of sauce and also missed my drink off the order. Never been so disappointed and to spend £17 on it all is disgusting.

We ate at Piccola Taverna regularly when my mother-in-law was in the Royal Huddersfield Infirmary. The food was excellent, only surpassed by the hospitality we received. We thoproughly recommend it.

Very Good Food! Fantastic Staff! The owner’s was kind enough to treat us with something extra! But they were charging service fee and charging even for tomato ketchup and mayonnaise, that was strange!

Waited over 2hrs for delivery when food came it was cold and soggy. The chicken wings tasted funny. Would not recommend or order from them again. Food was not good at all.

Had both take out and 2 great meals in the cute newly opened Italian restaurant downstairs. This a a restaurant run by a very friendly Italian family. Food is good authentic Italian food. Served with great Italian hospitality. Prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Salva and his team provided me and my four guests with a fantastic evening on Sunday night in his newly opened eating area downstairs in Piccola Taverna - we wanted something ‘different’ and authentically Italian and he gave us a beautifully presented platter of charcuterie served with crisp, thin pizza base garlic bread followed by two different pasta dishes culminating in fabulous sirloin steaks which were cooked to perfection - all of this was rather ‘off’ the menu. It was all superb and beautifully served in a special soon to be discovered new venue for Huddersfield. Well done Salva and very best wishes for the future and I will be delighted to bring other customers of mine in the future with the confidence of a really good night.

The lasagna was disgusting, thick layer of cheese on top of the meal, both mine and my partners was the same. Chips very bland. Disappointed as we had been recommended this restaurant.

Paid extra for Gorgonzola, olive’s and artichoke they added the Gorgonzola and anchovies not artichoke no olives. Last week paid extra for artichoke and got anchovies . More care needed as extra’s are not cheap. Otherwise good pizza

Opening hours are incorrect. Also they advertise as being open on just eat. We ordered and it took 20 minutes for them to refuse the order - by this time we'd missed ordering with the local restaurant. Very disappointing.

Pizzas are authentic Italian from what I can tell! Beautiful pizzas! - must admit most recent visit they substituted my roquito peppers for bog standard ones without telling me and the pizza was lacking the basil and fresh chilli it was supposed to have on as well but other than that it’s normally lovely!

Ordered pizzas for delivery for a party at home from Piccola Taverna. The pizzas were really authentic and tasted fab. Good prices too. Delivery was prompt and with a smile:-) Will certainly order from here again. Totally trumps Dominos. Nice to shop locally too. Thanks x

Collected 3 pizzas and chips yesterday. 2 Funghi and 1 Pepperoni and Mushroom (My fave) all pizzas have a great crust and sauce! Very light, great cheese and authentic toppings available. Would reccomend especially if you live in Lindley, Huddersfield. Was second visit, wont be last.

Called in for an end of holiday treat, what a treat we got. Not only was the the food probably the best pizza's we have ever had, but they made us feel so welcome and invited my daughter to help make the pizza with them. Its safe to say they went about and beyond we will most definitely be visiting again.

Had a brilliant takeaway from Piccola. Both pizzas were absolutely delicious using high quality, authentic ingredients. There was plenty of toppings too without it being too much. The pizza dough was spot on and very tasty. The French fries were also very good. All food arrived promptly and piping hot. It’s great to have a local, authentic Italian pizzeria on our doorstep. I cannot fault it at all! We’ll certainly be ordering again. 10/10. Thank you! 😊

Stopping in hospital, got dinner from here...food is amazing and fairly priced

We came across this lovely place after a very long day at the hospital. The smell was enough to entice us in. The owners were lovely, very chatty and explaining the plans for the place and menu. We ordered 2 pizzas both cooked to perfection with lovely dough. We sat outside and ate them. Price very reasonable and we were full. Will Definately return.
