The decor is stunning at this restaurant and the service was second to non! Food was very nice and great selection of wines and cocktails. Only thing was we were a couple so were sat very closely to another couple, and worst of all it was right near the kitchen where the fish are, let me tell you it was freezing!!! Shivering the whole time I was sat there had to get my partners coat and wrap it round me. Secondly, even though the food was nice, the portion sizes are a joke! We got two starters which were lovely, but then our main came. I got bolognese and my partner got arribiatta, and let me tell you barely anything was in my bowl, if we didn't get dessert we would not have been full at all, and for what they are charging it was a bit cheeky. Other than that dessert was gorgeous and did the job, but yeah my criticism is just go and enjoy the food but don't expect big portions for the price.

Visited for dinner last weekend. The food was delicious, I had the mushroom ragu and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly too. I just couldn’t get over how busy it was, but I suppose it is a city centre restaurant, but it didn’t have a relaxed feel because it was so packed.

Have dined here before some years ago and loved it. This is the business! An exquisite dining experience. Brought my client team and the CEO enjoyed it so much he picked up the bill. 5 stars.

Was a ok shared carvery and desserts I felt that the tables weren't big enough plus there was lack of service to our table would have liked a more cosy place to sit but sometimes this isn't an option

Staff were extremely attentive from the get go, my server Patrycja was lovely and helped with Wine choice. Food was superb (would highly recommend the truffle pasta special). Great atmosphere to boot - would recommend.

Good food, excellent staff but the bar ihss become overrun with drunk, loud locals every weeknight. Totally ruins the atmosphere, turning what should be a classy, family friendly restaurant into a Wetherspoons at closing time. I’m surprised the management put up with their behaviour. Will not return.

I honestly don't understand the hype around this place, this is the second time I've visited a Piccolino and both times have been so disappointed! Since the recent refurb, the decor and ambience in this place is great and the restaurant was full of bookings and people in and out. The bar area was beautiful and we were given a bar tab whilst we waited for out table. It went downhill when we received our food, my pizza was so thin and soggy I couldn't even pick a slice up to eat it! Me and my partner shared a garlic pizza bread and the bottom was so black we could only taste a burnt flavour when eating it, luckily the waiter saw this and offered to get the bread re made although he didn't take it off our bill at the end even though we had to wait another 10 minutes for it! We found our waiter quite forward and just handed us a desert menu and asked what we wanted to order rather than asking if we actually wanted desert, which we didn't !

The food was perfection and affordable. It wasn’t breaking the bank to eat here at all (which I was surprised about). The staff were all lovely and the decor was very fancy. The only think I would say is that we didn’t get offered Parmesan over our pasta which I was sad about BUT the crab ravioli was phenomenal anyway.

Friendly warm and helpful service in lovely surroundings. Food was good but I expected much better , fish was Ok , prawns a little rubbery. Not good for a business lunch as its quite noises and difficult to have a conversation. Gluten free no problem.

Visited with my friends for some dinner, we ordered 3 courses each. My friend was very disappointed with the brusetta but the calamari was nice. 2 of us both had fillet steaks which were absolutely terrible, it got brought over with the sauce all over it, for them to pick it up as soon as it was placed down and tell me it was the wrong sauce & needed redoing. We then had to wait for the new ones to be cooked while my friends pasta was just kept under a hot plate and not made fresh. I’ve never seen such a thin piece of steak ever, I’ve had better cuts of meat in a pub which is completely disappointing for such a prestigious restaurant which is known for quality food. The steak was like a thin frying steak, so thin I couldn’t see colour within it and I ordered it rare. The service was not that great either, waitress was very straight faced and not very apologetic about the delay.I’ve been to a different Piccolinos before and loved it but this experience was not close to my previous visit. I never complained because I don’t like causing a fuss as I work in hospitality myself, but upon reflection wish I did after believing I didn’t get my money’s worth at all.

Service was entertaining & friendly with Cesare. The food was well-cooked and tasty (though the set menu had allegedly run out of parma ham as a starter which give the size of the meat counter was surprising). Atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed. Only negative which is what I complained about on my last permitted visit in September was that this is not a place for leisurely dining. Plates were removed and within a minute or so, replaced with the next course. Many other reviewers comment on "quick" service. This is not a compliment.

Beautiful outdoor seating in the sunshine. Staff were all friendly. Food was delicious, highly recommend the calamari. I had the sea bass special and it was the best I’ve had! Manager made us feel very welcome.

Went to meet my family here after work for drinks. They’d had a lovely lunch and the service was really good with very pleasant staff who remembered specifically what wine each of us were drinking.

Went for lunch alone today, sat outside on the beautiful terrace which had heaters which was great! The service was EXCELLENT very quick and friendly, I had a beer, buratta salad which was superb and french fries which is where this review loses half a point, they had a strange coating and mushy texture, would have preferred nice crispy classic french fries. Regardless lovely place and atmosphere and I will go again. It looked beautiful inside too.

A super meal as we eased out of lockdown. An early evening dinner outside on the terrace, but our first opportunity in many, many months to eat out together, as a couple. And the lovely team at Piccolino made it a wonderful experience to remember. Delicious food, wonderful wines, and warm, friendly service from every single member of staff. Thank you.

Have been going to Piccolino's for years (this one and other restaurants). You can always guarantee the best food and service.In this particular restaurant, they always look after you like family. I ate recently in the outdoor area due to COVID restrictions (although I would definitely eat outside more when everything eases, their area is lovely!) and the staff made sure we never felt the rain / cold. Retractable covers, heaters and umbrellas if you need them. They have gluten-free options available too, that still taste yummy! Will always hold Piccolinos in high regard.

Lunch with my family waited in by Cesare who was fantastic. Recommended the mains and specials which were lovely too! The white wine he recommended was also beautiful

Ordered a takeaway on Piccolino2Go which was really easy to do. We are regulars when the restaurant is open, so the food was as expected, superb....The presentation and packaging for the takeaway blew us away, and for my wife’s birthday, (it’s all a bit miserable in lockdown) piccolo cheared her up with a cheesecake portion, chocolate truffles, and a happy birthday message. Reconozco a Piccolino como el lugar al que saldría con mis amigos; pero esta vez estaba realmente emocionado de ver el interior del enorme Teepee y las tiendas de campaña afuera.Realmente me enamoré del ambiente interior, cuando pasé las cortinas me sentí como en otro mundo. ¿Fue honestamente sin palabras?Velas grandes en cada mesa, incluso usaron barriles para reemplazar mesas con sillas altas al lado, quiero decir, ¡guau!Muchachos de grandes ideas, especialmente para los próximos meses, realmente se adapta a los eventos.Comida excepcional como siempre, cordero pedido para el plato principal, excelente decoración y sabor.Realmente aprecié que el personal y la gerencia mantuvieran todo profesional, los desinfectantes no faltaban en las mesas, el personal usaba sus máscaras de manera adecuada.¡Espero volver!

Fui con mi esposa, mi hija y mi yerno a almorzar tarde. Teníamos la intención de quedarnos una hora, pero todavía estábamos allí 3 horas después porque lo estábamos pasando muy bien. Sin entrantes; mi esposa y yo teníamos la suela Dover, que además de enorme era perfecta. Me encanta cuando los camareros lo deshuesan en la mesa. Mi hija tenía lo que parecía una chuleta de ternera tomahawk que le encantó y mi S I L el filete que terminó en poco tiempo. Estábamos tan llenos que no había lugar para el postre, pero como la comida era tan buena, nos llevamos una porción de Pain cotta a casa junto con los restos de nuestro Dover Sole y al día siguiente todavía sabían bien, especialmente el panda cotta. Debo aplaudir los contenedores de bolsas para perros que son superiores a otros restaurantes de primer nivel. Terminamos con café y Grappa, así que puedes imaginar que junto con varias botellas de excelente vino italiano Gavi no fue barato, pero cuando te lo pasas tan bien y el servicio es tan bueno (creo que mi yerno es conocido allí), creó una memoria que el dinero no puede comprar. Gran ambiente y pude ver si te conocen o no, tratan a todos como a un amigo.

Mi esposa Susan y yo decidimos visitar Manchester para tomar unas copas y comer para celebrar nuestro aniversario de bodas. Inseguro de dónde comer, leí críticas sobre varios restaurantes en el centro de la ciudad y decidí que Piccolino parecía que merecía una visita. Qué buena elección fue, desde llegar hasta dejarlo todo sobre Piccolino fue genial. Nos sentamos en un lugar encantador cerca del horno de pizza, pedimos dos bebidas y nos ofrecieron una botella de agua (gratis), un bonito gesto que pensamos. Ambos pedimos la misma comida (asado de domingo con pollo) y lo disfrutamos muchísimo, un buen trozo grande de pollo con patatas y una buena mezcla de verduras. Ninguno de los dos tenía espacio para un dulce, pero mi esposa terminó con un café de licor (tía maría) que disfrutó y fue una buena manera de terminar la comida. Nos encantó la decoración del restaurante, pensamos que el personal era muy agradable y quedamos contentos con el precio de lo que teníamos. En general, lo pasamos de maravilla en este restaurante y estamos deseando volver en un futuro no lejano.

Llegué temprano para mi reserva este lunes por la noche, pero la anfitriona amablemente me permitió tomar asiento en el bar donde me senté y bebí agua del grifo (gratis) mientras esperaba a que llegara mi amigo. Ambos habíamos estado sentados allí un rato, cuando se me ocurrió preguntarle a la anfitriona si nuestra mesa estaba lista, de hecho estaba lista, y sin embargo, ella no se había acercado a nosotros en el bar para informarnos, lo que me pareció un poco extraño.Nos sentamos en una mesa encantadora para dos, y debo decir que la decoración y el ambiente de este restaurante es maravilloso, es uno de mis restaurantes favoritos de Piccolino en la región (solo superado por el de Alderly Edge, quizás).Desafortunadamente, no entendí el nombre de nuestra mesera, pero fue amigable, eficiente y extremadamente educada (¡incluso si a veces era un poco difícil entender lo que decía!). Ella era muy conocedora del menú, respondió amablemente a todas mis preguntas, y ni una sola vez nos sentimos apurados, como si tuviéramos que pedir de inmediato o dejar nuestra mesa después de un cierto período de tiempo.Para empezar, pedimos panes mixtos y pedí que llegaran con un poco de mantequilla, y así fue. Los panes salieron de la cocina muy rápidamente, pero el hombre que salió con ellos se quedó allí mientras miraba alrededor de la habitación para que nuestro mesero le indicara la dirección correcta - fue increíblemente frustrante, solo ver nuestra comida quedarse allí - ¡Quería levantar la mano y llamarlo! Debo admitir que los panes no eran increíblemente impresionantes. Había una buena selección, con palitos de pan, panes planos finos y crujientes, focaccia y ciabatta, y la cantidad era extremadamente generosa (podría haberse compartido fácilmente entre 4 o 5 personas) pero los palitos de pan y el pan plano eran bastante insípidos, y la ciabatta no era ' t algo especial (lo hubiera preferido caliente, tal vez?). La focaccia, sin embargo, estaba absolutamente deliciosa, y la mantequilla que pedí había sido batida a la perfección, haciéndola suave y untable.Cuando terminamos visiblemente con la tabla de pan, la camarera se acercó a nosotros y cortésmente nos preguntó si queríamos que se quitaran los restos de la mesa o si nos gustaría guardar los restos para cuando llegara nuestro plato principal. Pedimos que se los quitaran, pero aprecié tal consideración.El plato principal llegó poco después y fue absolutamente excepcional. Pedí el POLLO ALLA CACCIATORE: pechuga de pollo, en salsa de tomate, guindilla, panceta y romero junto a un ramo de brócoli de tallo tierno. La pechuga de pollo era grande, jugosa y tierna; la salsa de tomate era rica, espesa, bien condimentada, increíblemente sabrosa y muy caliente; ¡y el brócoli de tallo tierno era perfecto para limpiar los restos de la salsa! Bien vale la pena los 17. 50! ! También pedí un poco de fritte de zuchinni para acompañar, porque Piccolino's hace el mejor fritte de zuchinni que he probado. La porción fue tan generosa como siempre y hermosamente presentada con las hebras de zuchinni alineadas para que pudieras obtener lotes en tu tenedor a la vez. También probé otra guarnición que nunca antes había probado en Piccolino's porque es nueva en el menú: pepperonata, un guiso de pimientos, hinojo y tomate. Fue interesante y sabroso, un poco agridulce, no se parece a nada que haya probado antes. Fue agradable y me alegro de haberlo probado, pero tal vez no lo necesitaba porque tenía mucha salsa de tomate del pollo Hunter. Aunque, la pepperonata hubiera sido perfecta para ordenar con la tabla de pan, ¡perfecta para mojar! Mi amiga pidió el risotto de espárragos y habas, que siempre parece disfrutar mucho, aunque yo lo probé un poco y personalmente no me molestó mucho, me supo un poco soso (aunque quizás sea porque para el momento Me puse a probar un poco, ¿se había enfriado?).En general, no puedo recomendar este restaurante lo suficiente. El ambiente en este restaurante es excepcional, todos los miembros del personal son increíblemente educados y profesionales, y la comida es de primera calidad, honestamente, no se puede superar, ¡vale la pena el precio! ¡Sin duda volveré a este Piccolino's en el futuro!

Este lugar es enorme por dentro y hay bastante bullicio. Los camareros eran encantadores y amables, aunque a veces era difícil entender lo que decían con máscaras puestas. La comida era deliciosa y abundante. Para 3, esperaba que mi pequeña tetera de té del desayuno estuviera llena hasta el tope. El personal estaba feliz de proporcionar más agua para que pudiera conseguir una segunda taza. La propina se agrega a la factura automáticamente.

como se ha vuelto normal durante la pandemia, reservamos en Piccolinos para el almuerzo del domingo y no nos decepcionó que el restaurante ya esté bien espaciado y no nos sentimos bajo ninguna presión en particular, de hecho, aparte del personal que usa máscaras faciales, se sintió como comida normal que fue genial. Todos tuvimos el almuerzo del domingo 2 - menú especial de platos que tiene una fantástica relación calidad-precio y la comida, como siempre, fue de primera categoría. . .

Pasé una noche fantástica aquí, un ambiente encantador y comida y servicio de 5 estrellas. A mi marido le encantó su filete, salsa de pimienta y patatas fritas, mi hija y yo comimos platos de pasta, mi pasta penne con salsa ragu era deliciosa y mi nieto disfrutó de su pizza. Teníamos la tarta de chocolate negro y almendras con helado de vainilla como postre y estaba para morirse, servido caliente, era tan ligero y no dulce ni enfermizo, ¡simplemente perfección! ! Disfrutamos de la cena de Rishis para ayudarnos con el descuento, pero volveríamos a visitar ya que es una velada encantadora en un entorno impresionante, bien recomendado que vale la pena visitar.

I visited this restaurant yesterday along with my Italian teacher who I was meeting for the first time. Everything about the place was great with lovely staff and wonderful food. I don't live in Manchester but if I did I would be a regular visitor.

The food was amazing. We ordered and it was ready within minutes which did feel a little but rushed but honestly it’s worth every penny and the service was good.

We have travelled from Huddersfield 3 times in the last week since we found this gem. The food is spectacular, the atmosphere and decor is beautiful the service is second to none. Absolutely terrific. Well done.

Our favourite restaurant is grande Piccolino Manchester. It’s not just the food that makes it it’s the staff who are so attentive and polite. Absolutely love everything about this restaurant

First visit here after being highly recommended, was severely disappointed, waited over 40 minutes past our table booked time, food was poor and served warm only. Carbonara was one of the worst I’ve ever had, very dry and flavourless and did not stack up to the price and was just about warm rather than hot. We were both disappointed with our meal safe to say we won’t ever be coming back.

I went for breakfast with my partner on Saturday morning. I had the omelette with cheese and mushrooms and i can honestly say that was the worst omelette i ever had. Very oily and you could say that they wanted to get rid of the mushrooms and that was basically the dish, mushrooms with a little bit of egg. I wouldn't put on the menu omelettes if i didnt have a clue how to cook them. We will not be going back.The bill was just under £30 for breakfast that tasted like cheap takeaway, macdonalds breakfast tastes better than this.

Visited with a group of 5 - everyone found it difficult to make a choice from the very varied menu. Something eventually for us all following our aperitifs. Everyone loved the meal served by very friendly waiters. Great ambiance.

Not usually a visitor of a chain but this was a pleasant surprise. All waiting team attentive keeping drinks topped up throughout the whole meal. The tomato garlic bread is gorgeous & the salmon pasta tasty (with mushrooms added). A friend is a regular visitor so they also collected points on their loyalty card. Will go again.

Just returned from a beautiful summer lunch at this lovely restaurant. Fantastic service throughout from Cesare & everything we chose to eat was delicious! We felt safe & well-cared for here, and very much enjoyed the special atmosphere! We’ll definitely be back again, and can recommend a visit here 100%!

We visited Piccolino on the first day of ‘eat out to help out’ and was served by Cesare - he was very attentive and couldn’t do more to give us a perfect service. Luckily the sun was shining so we could sit outside. Our overall experience was brilliant! The food, drinks and atmosphere were all top class. Would definitely recommend and would 100% come again.

When the sun is shining in Manchester there is nowhere nicer to be than the outside terrace. The food is amazing, you can watch the world go by and our waiter Cesare was fantastic fun. Five stars

This was our first visit to a restaurant after the COVID lockdown , the staff were very informative and professional without being too clinical, the meal was delicious as always and the service was great , friendly without being too invasive . Hand sanitizer was present at all the tables and all the staff wore face masks, generally a very good post lockdown experience! Thank you

We came to piccolino for dinner and everything was amazing. Beautiful venue and our waiter Alfio was very attentive and professional making our experience perfect. Definitely recommend!

My friends and I booked a table for 4 at Piccolino's on Friday evening around 19:30. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the hostess who was friendly and very welcoming. We were taken to our table and that's where the magic began. The manager introduced us to our waiter, Cesare, who looked after us from start to finish with his cheeky flamboyance. We started off the evening with some bubbles accompanied by a selection of Italy's finest foods from the restaurant's deli counter (best in Manchester). The truffle Pecorino was incredible. Cesare was very generous, and plated up a separate plate of Pecorino for us to enjoy on the house. This was such a nice touch, as you rarely receive anything for free in restaurants these days... For main, we ordered two Chateaubriand steaks which were cooked to perfection. Once again, Cesare was very hospitable and served the slices of heaven to our plates. To accompany the Rolls-Royce we plumped for the Riesling Langhe from Piemonte which was stunning and the obligatory Amarone Della Valpolicella Santa Dorotea which again was mind blowing. Cesare expertly decanted the wine, treating it like a new born baby. Before dessert, Cesare once again, treated us to a palate cleanser of mandarin sorbet (again, such a nice touch). To finish, Cesare selected some delicious desserts which hit all the right notes which paired beautifully with a bottle of Moscato Passito 'Palazzina'. We finished the night off with espresso martinis which set us up nicely for the Friday night antics ahead. To conclude, for 4 epicurists such as ourselves, this has been one of the finest meals we have had in quite some time. Thanks again to all the staff at Piccolino's including Christina from Cadiz and Lenka who were both an absolute delight. Again, a special mention to Cesare who looked after us more so than what you would receive in a Michelin starred establishment. Grazie a tutti.

We come to Piccolino quite regular we were out for post lockdown drinks and decided to come for tea and it seems more expensive than ever. We had some mixed bread as a started and for main we both had the fillet with a side of greens, roast potatoes and chips. The food is still very good but the bill seemed quite expensive £96 with only a drink each. Sure we used to have 3 courses for not much more than £100.

The food and service is amazing and our beautiful waiter Cesare was fantastic as always. He gives advice in what to order whether it be food or drink and is always smiling. Amazing place to go for a relaxed evening and delicious food. Thanks for always making me feel welcome.

Remarkably little had changed since pre-lockdown here, although all the necessary social distancing measures had been implemented. Fortunately, the standard of food hadn’t changed either, which meant an excellent meal- in my case, bruschetta al pomodoro followed by farfalle al salmone. My friend had sardines followed by steak. It was a restricted menu, which meant that a number of dishes were not available, but, it being only a week after restaurants were allowed to open, this was understandable and forgivable. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and - combined with the joy of this being only my second restaurant visit post-lockdown - this was a great experience - as good as it was pre-lockdown

We went for my friend’s boyfriend’s birthday dinner on the 8th of July. I was a little bit sad when we were told there is no duck available but it was okey. I always have duck so now I actually tried something else.We were happy with a food ☺️Our waitress, as I remember her name was Joanna, blonde girl, was so lovely. She was always there when we needed, she was professional and lovely. We will be back soon again I hope xx

The staff are absolutely lovely, a real credit to the restaurant. The dish my boyfriend ordered was good however mine was average considering the price. I would return but wouldn’t order the chicken and pine but pasta again.

Food wasn’t good, sent steak back as it was cremated when asked for rare, got a replacement in 30 seconds......pizza base was raw & the cheese wasn’t melted .....starters came within 5 minutes. All felt very rushed & not what I expected from this restaurant.The waitress spilt my drink, didn’t clean it up just wandered off....Covid standards really poor...all staff wearing face masks but the chefs had there’s either under their noses or their chins.. absolutely pointless & in an open kitchen I would expect this to be managed better.Wouldn’t return or recommend

Absolutely amazing! The staff were super friendly, we had a giggle about how rubbish my Italian is and had a mini lesson while i was there. The food was fantastic, i had garlic bread to start (which was super fresh and i could see it being made and cooked) the crab ravioli (freshly made pasta, you can't beat it) and it really was out of this world. Full of flavour and enough on the plate.Inside it's really cool decor, but more importantly it's clean and tidy.Really welcoming place to eat, great atmosphere, amazing staff and top food!Highly recommended!

Went there last night and was shocked by the price and quality of food.The large group next to us sent all there food back also.Its not great when you look at the price charged for the food.

This is a bright and vibrant restaurant situated opposite Albert square. We had the lunch menu which was excellent value for money. All the staff were attentive and the service is excellent. The food was lovely and of a high standard, would recommend and return.

Just been, again, to a fantastic Italian restaurant that is buzzing, lively and serves excellent food, with generally, top notch service. Today, David was noticeable by his absence, but other team members, as usual, stood up to offer a quality meal experience that is all too often noticeable by its absence on the high street in generalIs it perfect all the time? of course not, but in the years that I have frequented Piccos I have only had to complain once. Sebastian sorted it out immediately, without fuss or bother and I know with confidence that the management will deal quickly and efficiently with any issues.It is always easy to moan and complain from a distance, but today when I had an issue with the loyalty card, the receptionist not only provided me with a solution, but knew my card number. I was gob smacked! I don't even know my own mobile number! If that isn't being customer aware, then I don know what is..Many thanks.

Came here for valentines hoping for really good quality food as there’s so many positive reviews, however I don’t think it was all that. The starter of garlic bread sharer was nice. I got the seafood linguine and it was all abit meh, the wild king prawn was pure mush, obviously because it’s been frozen but also the quality of it was obviously not good, and yeah the risk with seafood is that a lot of it was shell, but literally the tiny bit of seafood you got did not balance the amount of spaghetti you get and it was just a bowl of watery tomato linguine. The quality of the seafood is not great looking at how shrivelled and small the meat was, which makes me think for the price was 100% not worthy. I’m so glad I didn’t get the lobster linguine. My boyfriend got the steak, and I cannot believe for £24 you don’t get any sides! Not even sauce. That tiny steak for a whopping £24 is too pretentious to me, most places it would serve a side at least. Not even a bit of salad. So he ordered sides.. roast potatoes were salty AF, he likes salt on his food but that was far too much. Broccoli was sad, boring and underwhelming with no flavour. Chips were just chips, 8/10. When it came to pay I wasn’t given the option to not pay the optional service charge, as service wasn’t even great. For valentines it wasn’t busy, and the quality of food was poor. Refused to stay for dessert as I was not willing to spend another penny.

Went there a Saturday evening with a mate for some quality Italian food. The food and wine was great. The place was buzzing with people and the staff were very busy, but still managed to say hi with a smile and provide good recommendations on food and wine. We had a three course dinner, pasta, seafood, and fish, with a proper selection of wine. All in all very happy and full after an evening of dining at Piccolino.

We just love this place. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The wine is always the perfect temperature and the food is to die for. We always thoroughly enjoy our visits to Piccolino Manchester.

Not been for quite a while so I was pleased that we were having our monthly Friday afternoon Boardroom event here.We arrived at 2.30pm and it was still busy with a good atmosphere.There was about 30 of us, the waiters coped very well as did the kitchen and we all got our food within a short space of time.I had to dash for my train so did not have my usual loooong lunch but all round it was very enjoyable and I particularly enjoyed the chicken livers -not everyone's cup of tea... My main was the linguini and all washed down with a decent bottle of Valpolicella.

I’m a regular at the Virginia Water branch, so was delighted when I saw they had one in Liverpool - what a disappointment. If you thought that the same menu/prices would mean the same level of service, think again. We waited ages for everything. One item didn’t turn up and then turned up twice. We asked repeatedly for many things. What’s the point in bringing over water but not giving us glasses to drink it out of - shouldn’t have had to ask for glasses at all, but ended up asking three times. I nearly went and helped myself. I had the seafood risotto which is one of my favourite dishes on the menu but it was awful - tasteless and watery. Would NEVER go there again.

We were in Manchester with our daughter for an overnight stay. We called to book an hour before. The food was better than any other one of their restaurants I have tried (I am a fan of piccolino’s). The staff were soo friendly and amazing with my daughter. The gentlemen who I believe was the manager even let my daughter make a pizza at the end of her meal. Dough, sauce, toppings and she even watched it go in the oven. My daughter was soo happy, meaning we were happy. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you all for making our evening special

It is about three years since my partner and I last ate here ( we used to come about every 3-4 months for lunch). Since that time the place has been refurbished and extended and now sports a magnificent bar looking out onto Albert Square. And the cocktails are pretty good too. We each had an Aperol Betty, and they were delicious and just the right side of tart.We ordered what we had always had there: calamari to share; spaghetti vongole for Gillie, and COD, spicycalabriansausage and tenderstem for me. The calamari was fine,as was the cod. But there were far fewer clams and far less chopped parsley in the pasta dish, which was a great disappointment. And I was silently outraged that, having asked for bread, two small pieces of toasted bread were brought and the bill showed a charge of £1.25. This is simply avaricious for a restaurant of this standing.Our waitress, Lenka, was terrific, and the staff generally were very friendly. But we were disappointed overall, and will have to decide whether we want to try again or simply cut our losses with this former favourite

Visited off the cuff with friends after a suit fitting in Manchester! Offered us a table next to the walk way which was busy and had people hitting my chair most of the time! We opted for the three course set menu, the calamari was very greasy, the chicken and spaghetti was tasteless and needed more sauce and seasoning and the chocolate fondant was so so! The waitresses were very attentive and to be totally honest sometimes they were over attentive. My drink was topped up every five minutes even when I said please don’t. We also witnessed who I think was the manager, an older gent in a suit shouting at a waiter by the pizza oven and slapping his arm and telling him to go away! We didn’t like this, I do not like people of authority who feel belittling people is a way of asserting said authority! Service charge is added without prior knowledge and the loyalty card is forced down your throat with a pen being handed over without asking to fill it in whilst being watched. Would we visit again, yes probably would but we would prefer it to be a little less chaotic!

The location is good and easy to find Food it is good , but most wonderful thing about our stay was Our wonderful waitres , ANDREA FROM SICILY , GREAT GUY ,professional, great attitude and very willing to deliver a 5 star service He made our lunch special Thank you Andrea !Highly recommended this restaurant

I had a lobster last night and I was delicious never had a lobster like that in my life to be completely honest , my girlfriend had the carbonara as usual as it’s her favourite.. lovely place and I can say the staff was really nice especially” Stefania “ ( if I’m not wrong ) she was brilliant , thank you very much piccolino a presto..

My friend and I had a reservation at Piccolino’s for a Friday night at 6:30pm. We arrived at 6:25ish and were seated immediately in the first of the three rooms in the restaurant. At first the waitress kept coming up to us every 3minutes or so to offer us the specials menu, ask if we wanted drinks, bringing over water, seeing if we were ready to order, seeing if we were ready to order again, etc etc - but then I think she got the message that we were catching up and had yet to even open the menu - she seemed a bit irked by our leisurely pace, which I didn’t find very hospitable...Nevertheless, the second time I asked her if I would be able to order a kids cheesey garlic pizza alongside my main dish (the first time I asked she had said that that menu was strictly for under-11s only), she did ask the manager for me and confirmed that I would be allowed, which was much appreciated. The food was swift to arrive considering how busy the restaurant was. My friend had ordered pizza and I had reserved then aubergine parmagiana with a kids cheesey garlic bread. I have never had aubergine parmagiana before but this was absolutely delicious - not too much cheese, plenty of tomato sauce, and absolutely piping hot - great value for £12! The kids cheesey garlic bread was absolutely HUGE considering a) that it was kids, and b) considering it was only £2!! This was also absolutely delicious, a bit too much cheese for my liking, but I am really in no position to complain. While I was waiting for my friend to finish her pizza I also ordered some zucchini fritte. It arrived incredibly swiftly, the portion was plentiful and absolutely piping hot - a must-order if you go to Piccolino’s! Throughout the meal our waitress was very attentive - she came back to check that we were enjoying our meal, and when I asked her for a salt grinder (neither the one on our table nor the one on the table next to us was working), she kindly obliged.All in all, we did feel slightly rushed and the service could have been more friendly, but the food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was as lovely as ever, so I will most probably be returning to Piccolino’s at some point in the future.

Enjoyable evening out to blow away the cobwebs of going back to work in the New Year - lovely evening and a great way to build up loyalty points.

Fantastic restaurant in a fabulous location! We selected from the lunchtime menu and were definitely not disappointed! Our waitress Catriona was knowledgable, attentive and really friendly. Would absolutely go again!

Came here after a shopping trip for my daughter's birthday. Pleasant surroundings, delicious menu. Service could have been a little faster, but we were not in any rush. Would return with a larger party.

The food was nice and the set menu available for early dinner is good value for money. However i was disappointed with a few issues. We were given a table next to the dessert counter which is not the nicest place to sit I realized later (even though I had booked on line several days before ) . Half way through the meal someone dimmed the light which resulted in us eating in semi-darkness ! The service charge was added to the bill without it being mentioned to us and we added further tip thinking it was not. The offers on the club individual are quite unclear and when I asked the waitress I am not sure she knew either! I don't think the 50% sale offer advertised by email was added to my card even though I showed her a virtual copy of it on my phone so what is the point of it all ? These are small things but they matter and it's a shame because somehow that's what you seen to remember most!

This review comes with a warning, there are 2 things to be wary of, firstly my Firentina pizza contained 3 small stones which could easily have cracked a tooth. When pointed out to the waiter, I just received an apology. Secondly when your bill arrives be careful of the discretionary service charge added without your consent. I always think this makes a nonsense of tipping. It is a shame because, the food was delicious (despite the stones, I still happily ate it all) and our waiter was lovely. I happily paid the tip but would like the opportunity for me to be the one to offer it, not have it added to my bill by the restaurant. I feel the manager was at fault, poor customer care, short sighted failure to make amends. I appreciate pizze are cooked in a wood burning oven but surely it's possible to cook them without adding stones to the topping.

Six of us visited this restaurant early in the New Year and had a great time as we always do there. It is such an atmospheric place and the service is always professional and friendly. On this occasion, we had a lovely waitress from Greece who looked after us particularly well.It isn’t cheap though. The bill for six of us with no steaks and two medium quality wines was £300. A discretionary service charge was added in but even without this it was still a lot. There is no doubt the food is amazing quality but it’s not the kind of place we will attend to regularly at these prices.The food was terrific. The standout for me was the seafood risotto which was cooked perfectly but every dish was excellent.

Truffle and mushroom risotto is absolutely beautiful. Great staff and atmosphere. Will definitely be returning. Again!

I visited this restaurant for a few times this month I enjoyed everytime. I book a table through the app and i was served nicely most of the time.Don t expect to find peace and quiet , coz you wont, it s more noisy, but it s worth it!

Whenever in Manchester I enjoy having my coffee and sometimes light snacks or deserts at Gino. Visitor will be presented by a wide range of traditional Italian home cooking with meals and desserts. Friendly and easy going staff will make your meal memorable.

I have been going to Piccolino with my husband forever - since it opened in fact, and there is a reason we keep going back, this time for a late lunch, and that is for the food, the service and the great atmosphere. All the staff are just so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble - Ettore even produced my own personal fan heater when I said it was a bit chilly by the window - how about that for service!! This time we opted for a plate of pasta each and the garlic bread washed down with a bottle of Chianti. The penne arrabiata was just lovely - hot and garlicky and buttery, and the linguine ai gamberoni, a firm favourite, did not disappoint - it takes talent to make something so simple taste so delicious. The loyalty scheme is brilliant and very generous, but I would eat here anyway, for all the reasons given above.

Went for our Xmas lunch today. Place buzzing, very busy but service excellent - had the lasagne for main which was gorgeous, couldn't finish it sadly but a friend took up the slack & polished it off! Prosciutto, cheese & bread starter lovely, tiramisu dessert the same. First time been for meal meal (been for breakfast once) since the revamp & thoroughly enjoyed, recommended.

We had a brilliant business lunch. This is a high class place with everything about if impressive - the decor, service, menu, food, wine and location. The front of the building event looks good. A great place for a business lunch or special occasion.

My friend was treating me to a meal for my birthday. We arrived at around 5:30 on a Wednesday evening whilst the Christmas Markets were in full swing. Predictably, the restaurant was very busy and we hadn't booked, but we were seated immediately. The restaurant was unbearably hot. The staff were friendly courteous and service was good. We each had a glass of wine - the Pinot Grigio blush and the Shiraz. Both were fine. However, the food was extremely disappointing. My friend had the Calamari Fritti starter, which she said was good. I had the Arancine, which were quite unpleasant, although the accompanying red pepper sauce was light and tasty. My friend's main was Pollo al Funghi - the chicken was over-cooked and extremely dry and the sauce with the gnocchi was greasy. My main was Ravioli di Zucca - the filling was bland and tasteless, lacking in seasoning, there were only two tiny pieces of walnut and the ravioli were dripping in far too much butter. We didn't bother with dessert. To make matters worse, we weren't offered the Early Evening menu (which I only learned about afterwards), which means that my friend paid the Main Menu price. I really couldn't recommend this restaurant after our experience.

WOW WOW WOW... this is without doubt the best restaurant in Manchester! The food and the service was amazing! Never have I ever eaten food with so much flavor and that has been created with so much love... outstanding! The service was great; they helped us with our gluten intolerance and they were all so kind and happy. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Amazing food and great service.. will come back!

Visited with a friend mid-week for dinner. We’d pre-booked a table and were seated straight away on arrival. Our table had a lot of people passing by, including waiters, which made it a bit distracting. My first food option was sold out so I went for the chicken. The sauce and accompaniments were delicious but the chicken itself was seriously dried up. My friend very much enjoyed his duck main. We had to wait a little while to get the attention of a waiter to get our bill, but it soon came once we had their attention. Won’t be rushing back.

Only ten mins walk from the Christmas markets this place just finished the night of perfect, great food brilliant atmosphere warm and welcoming.Great food at good prices really friendly and service was second to none. This place is special don't miss out 10/10 keep up the good work guys.

Great restaurant... Nice atmosphere, good food, good range of drinks, food was excellent, service was great...my daughter loved it! nothing else needed, very pleasant experience all round. Would return without question.

Well this is my husbands favourite because they do Scallopini Milanese. When ever we go to an Italian if it’s on the menu he’ll be having it !!!So shown to our table it’s gone a little noisy in there, music too loud could hardly hear each other speak. Ordered 2 wines began to look at menu given the specials, to be told 2 on there were not avail. The waitress then came to take our order my choice was the Duck NOT AVAILABLE so didn’t matter too much as I was able to take my 2 choice. Then my husband placed his order Scallopini NOT AVAILABLE well that was it. Not very good for Thursday early evening to be out of at least 4 of the dishes on menu, so we decided to not stay for dinner. We said could we have our bill for drinks as we were so disappointed. She bought the manager over he handled this very well great customer service, rang another restaurant for us but they didn’t have it on either. Never mind we said we’ll just pay for our drinks he kindly declined. Even the chef apologised as we left. We will return on our next visit to Manchester these things happen but it was handled so well. Great customer service by your staff. Sad we didn’t get to eat with you. Next time hopefully x

Despite the peerless Etuary’s absence we had another fabulous evening. New superb wines and still the place to go in Manchester
