phoenix take away in Fife

We have used the Phoenix for many years but what's changed? Our three meals tonight were well below the usual standard we have been used to. Chicken with cashew nuts and yellow bean sauce. They didn't include any cashew nuts and the meals were all very bland. Chicken Thai Green Curry. Bland and large chunks of onion almost raw. Chicken Chowmein. Hardly a sign of chicken and noodles that tasted old. Not a pleasant experience and so disappointed. Will look elsewhere from now on unless someone responds to this review with a reasonable explanation for the change in quality.

Due to the cost of the takeaway I was offered free spring rolls. Instead I paid for the spring rolls and chose to have free prawn crackers instead. When I arrived home I had not been given prawn crackers. I phoned and asked for the cost of my spring rolls to be refunded. Instead I was offered extra, or free, prawn crackers the next time I ordered a takeaway. I explained I would rather have the £3 cost of the spring rolls refunded as originally I was offered them for free anyway. They refused to refund the £3. I have no complaints about the food but disappointed I paid £3 more than I should have and a refund was refused.

Started to use the Phoenix after using the Wok In for years, but the Wok In changed hands and lost orders were wrong and the food weren't down hill. After trying a lot dishes from the Phoenix it is brilliant food. The chips in batter are great, absolutely love their food. Staff are very friendly and helpful too.

If your gluten free I would highly recommend the phoenix Inn. I have been looking for a good Chinese for years after trying so many and the food being so bland. when I got recommend to try hear I couldn't be happier the food is fresh taste how I remember a Chinese tasting before I was GF. I would recommend the Mongolian beef garden fried rice and salt and chilli chips. The staff will adapt dishes to meet your dietary requirements. Thank you Phoenix Inn

We have about 4 times over the past 12 months and the food is surprisingly good. I often find that Chinese food makes me thirsty but not at the Phoenix Inn. We have tried a variety of dishes and yes the food is good. It’s hidden away but well worth the visit.

Great food always very pleasant staff and great price.Have been going here for long time now and never had bad meal.

This is our local Chinese takeaway The food is always piping hot and really tasty Delivery can sometimes be a wee bit slow but they do usually warn you when ordering if there’s going to be a wait

Best Chinese meal we have had in a while. Doesn’t look great from the outside but the food is fantastic. We are converted into regulars.

Had another amazing takeaway from The Phoenix on Saturday, on point every time cannot fault the place. Really quick delivery and foods always roasting hot. I've tried just about every Chinese take away in Dunfermline and nothing comes close to this place its a little gem. The Chinese lady on the phone is so friendly and nothing is too much bother. Will order again very soon.

Always had good food before but both main dishes tasted same bit bland had Mongolian chicken sparse amount sauce far too many onions chilli beef tasteless maybe changed the chef will try again but hope for a tasty meal next time

Excellent food wasted with too much salt.Would defo use again as we have in the past but would ask that they do not add extra salt as it spoiled what was a lovely takeaway meal....

We've used this takeaway many times for family meals. Good choice of traditional Chinese menu items with some tasty surprises thrown in. Try the Phantom Chicken and the large munchie box is immense!!! Staff are friendly and obliging and food can be clearly seen being prepared from the waiting area. They also have a credit/debit card reader for those impulse takeaways.

We have used all of the Chinese take a ways in the area and find that this is our main one to go to now. The food is fresh and has all the right tastes and the prices are close to all of the others in the area.

I have ordered from the Phoenix inn a few times, I personally have never had a bad meal, the food is always good and is reasonably priced. The only thing I would say with any Chinese takeaway restaurant is that I wished they done half portions as I end up wasting half the meal as it’s way too much other than that I’ll definitely be ordering again!!

Me and the Hubby fancied a change from our normal Chinese Takeaway. We had the Pheonix Menu in the Kitchen Drawer and so gave it a try.......Lovely lovely lovely. We ordered two starters, the Pancake Rolls and Peking Spare Ribs, delicious. Hubby particularly raved about them and the Ribs were just right for me. As we always order more for future Workplace meals, 3 main courses, Chips, Fried Rice and a Soft Noodle. Thoroughly enjoyed and didn't make the Piece Box. We got a free portion of Chicken Wings in a honey & chilli sauce and a large bag of Prawn Crackers. Service on the phone and by the Delivery was quick, friendly and spot on. The food arrived hot and quicker than advised. My only complaints, which is just because I am picky, was that it was "skinny" noodles and I prefer the medium ones and the Mongolian Beef was delicious but just a wee bit too hot for me (Hubby loved both! He would give the Pheonix a 5!)

Pedimos comida para llevar a recoger, tengo que admitir que chica que se ocupó el pedido por teléfono era muy agradable. Cuando fuimos a recoger la comida fue sacado en el mostrador no nos pidieron a nuestro nombre y había un hombre sentado viendo la televisión con nosotros fuera de la esquina de su ojo, el dueño o el cocinero no sabemos. Se intercambiaron palabras incluso cuando se paga. El limón pollo salsa era probaban acabarían y nunca he tenido una Kung Po y tuvimos muchos! Nuestra comida fui a la papelera qué desperdicio de casi 25 libras. No volveremos.

This take away is just outside of the dock entrance, and as I was working in the dock I thought that I would pay a visit, it will be the first and last time. The sweet and sour chicken balls were good enough, but battered deep fried chicken is very hard to get wrong, the Singapore Chow Mein was not so good however - noodles covered with a sauce that was not particularly spicy and prawns not de-veined lead me to believe that there are much better take aways in the area.

Have been going to the Phoenix Inn for several months now and have to say that the food is some of the best that I have had. Staff are friendly and polite, premises spotlessly clean, genuinely can't think of any negative points at all.

Take away only. This is the sister resturant of lee garden and it shows. The staff are always polite when i have ordered. The food is tasty and plentifull and the free extras (depending on spend) are a good pluspoint. My favorite dunfermline take away.
